I recently had a very bad experience with this business. I had sold gold jewelry years before at this location where the service was decent. However a few months ago I was treated so disrespectfully by two of the young men who work there (possibly the sons as this is a family owned business). I brought in a gold necklace to sell, only to be told in a very rude manner that it had no value and was also told to remove my keys from the glass counter to avoid scratching. I subsequently took the same necklace to First National Bullion in Carlsbad where I was treated with the utmost kindness and where I was paid out $1200 for the same gold necklace. Also I have shopped many times at very high end jewelers and have never been told to remove my keys from the counter. When I called Encinitas Coin & Jewelry to complain they simply slammed down the phone after saying they were too busy to talk. What an absolute disgrace!! read more

After entering for the first time curious to see if there was something I could find for a gift, asked the shop person, a guy who was standi g at the counter for assistance to see something in the glass. What this person told me was beyond rude, it was obnoxious. He rudely snapped back that he did not have the time to help me, and went about just standing at the front counter. When I told him how I felt about his rudeness, he just gave a snarky smirk, along with his other assistant using gaslighting to try and make others in the store from not noticing this awful attitude. They lost a customer in no time flat, and Do not recommend anyone to this establishment. Hit 6 different places and got lots of different low ball prices after I left Oceanside but Michael matched the Jewelry store price and at the cost of gas I did business with him. Horrible rude service! Negative energy. Bad vibes. I wanted to buy a silver chain. When I walked in the woman behind the counter was not wearing a mask, despite signs all over the front of the store saying that masks are required. I tried to ignore it and asked where the chains were, she gestured towards the back of the store, but didn't offer to assist me at all. I found a few chains I was interested in and came back up to the counter to lay them out and compare. She set a tray right in front of her and told me to lay them there. I said I wasn't comfortable getting close to her because she wasn't wearing a mask so she took the tray and rudely tossed it towards me at the other end of the counter. I was looking at the chains on the tray when another employee entered the store unmasked and she turned to him and mumbled something to him about my being uncomfortable with them not wearing masks. She was incredible rude and the vibe in the place is dark, negative energy. I am not sure how this store is in business with customer service like that. Very rude.
