First time playing this beautiful San Diego course! Was fortunate to get the first tee time of the day at 6:45 am. Keep in mind you'll still have a group in front of you. We had a foursome of employees in front of us but they were so fast we did not even notice them. Fairways are wide and forgiving with not too many places to hit out of bounds or into a hazard. Many golfers rave about shooting a PR at this course. $76 plus $16 for a cart with the JC rate was solid. Greens were in pretty good condition and on the faster side the front nine then slowed down on the back 9. Got a birdie on hole 13 so was stoked about that! Cant wait to play this course again.

This was my first time to play this golf course... The locals call it "Easy Ranch Golf Course" It is actually a lot easier than most it's pretty wide open the space not a lot of trees nothing to get into your way and there's really only two areas of concern to lose your ball... it's a little bit difficult as it goes back-and-forth to try to find when is your next hole. We played at 5 o'clock and finished at about 730 I would recommend always bring a sweater or jacket, as the breeze from the ocean is so nice but it does get very chilly when the sun goes down.... They closed the main restroom inside. when we finished so we had to go all the way around to the back of the building do use the outside bathroom.

Greens were a little sandy but overall rolling fine. The views are amazing and course is in great shape.

In north San Diego up in Encinitas this course is on the easier side with wide open fairways that let you stay in bounds if you miss hit your drive but the greens can actually be a hit tough in an enjoyable way. Course was in great shape and they've got a great driving range as well as putting greens. Hardest thing on this course is to get a good tee time because they have kept pricing reasonable even though their competitors in Orange County and San Diego doubled their pricing in the pandemic, which was a pleasant surprise. For a foursome, carts, 2 pairs of Travis Matthew shorts, it was still all under $400. Great value and price for such a nice course. They even had ocean holes and sprawling views that were breathtakingly beautiful. Absolutely love this place! 5 stars

Wow! This golf course exceeded our expectations! When we walked in we were greeted so kindly. Everything was explained in detail and people seemed genuinely excited for our visit. It was gorgeous! It had clean restrooms throughout. I am 25 weeks pregnant and restrooms were imperative. The views were wonderful. The value of this course was shocking. We will absolutely be back next year!

My experience at this course is limited to group lessons with Scott Newman. The first series focused on the full swing, where we practiced in a private, all grass area on the opposite side of the driving range. The second series was all about the short game with a nice putting green setup surrounded by some areas for chipping. Scott has a great approach to teaching that is a perfect blend of nonchalant, technical, and fun. He can make it super simple for newbies like me, or he can get into precise techniques with those who have been playing a while. He also has standalone group or private lessons if you don't want to commit to a series. Essentially, anything you want to work on, he can help you! And the location is gorgeous with a ocean view.

The swing evaluation at GolfTEC really clicked with me though; you're provided with instant visual feedback (side view & down the line) and metrics on every swing. I walked out of there with the 3-month/10-lesson plan and it's been great fun! The swing evaulation fee was waived, and you even get a fitting thrown in for free also as part of the plan. That I enjoyed my time there is mainly down to the instructor, Don Luvsan, who's been a fantastic coach! Equal parts creative in his methodology, and patient in his delivery and reinforcement. He's a real asset to the facility and I've greatly appreciated my time under his tutelage. Thanks in no small part to Don, I've got a much more consistent swing, and I know why from all the visual feedback. In fact, I just posted my best score on a round this weekend, and have tons more confidence from any situation because we've walked through all of it during the sessions, and all the feedback and video summaries of my lessons are in the online portal if ever I need a refresher. They've got a great sale (which appears to be annual) through the month of August, so I'd encourage you to give Don a call for a swing evaluation and see if the coaching resonates with you. Mileage may vary, but with the 'Game Plan' i signed up for, you get to practice at the facility 3 times a week outside of your usual lesson. When things were quiet, Don was always happy to poke his head in to check on me and work through some sticking points. All that's left is the fitting. Looking forward to it, and I'll be booking in with Don again after I've developed a few bad habits on the course.

I was interested in irons and a new driver and 5 wood. I only signed up for an irons fitting but we finished that part early and Kasey kindly let me hit some drivers and 5 woods. I ended up purchasing Mizuno irons and the Taylor Made Qi10 driver and 5 wood. Kasey wasn't pushy at all, just really nice through the entire process. I could have purchased the clubs elsewhere but I wanted to give him the business. I love my Qi10s and will be picking up my irons today. Thanks Kasey for the awesome service and experience!

Front door had recently been smashed in, so starting off was already put off by the aesthetics. That's not their fault as the landlord is responsible. From there it was down hill. I came in for a new driver fitting. I only tried 4 different drivers, all at the same loft and feel ultimately leading me to be 45 minutes in. Around the 40 minute mark my coach finally was able to get some improvement on my data. Although they weren't nearly close to what we should have been able to do he recommended me a $650 driver that was not perfectly tailored or fit for me. The experience seemed slow to start, transitions between clubs took around 5 minutes of waiting. I hit more warmup shots waiting to start than I did shots evaluating my club selection. Overall, disappointed in my service and will have to book a new driver fitting elsewhere.

Four stars for TaylorMade Golf. I'm a fan…read more When I first started playing golf, throughout the 90s and into the mid 2000s, I was a Callaway man. Every club in my bag, from driver to putter, was Callaway. Then, when the USGA limited the size of driver heads to 460cc, I decided to buy a new driver. I went to my local PGA Tour Superstores and demoed a bunch of them. I tried them out on simulators and recorded my stats (e.g. ball spin, club head speed, distance, launch angle, and of course, accuracy). I also checked the clubs out and took them with me to the range. I had multiple demo sessions between two PGA Tour Superstore locations and the range. This was a big investment decision for me, especially since these drivers cost hundreds of dollars each. Brands I tested included Adams, Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, TaylorMade, and Titleist. After extensive testing, the driver that came out on top for me and my swing was the TaylorMade Burner. I still use the driver to this day with relatively consistent results. I've been very happy with it. It's got a stock regular flex Fujikura graphite shaft and I've had the grip replaced with the tried and true Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip (it's on all my clubs but the putter). Other TaylorMade products I've regularly used include golf balls and golf gloves. I really liked playing the TaylorMade TP Reds before they stopped making them. They felt great. Recently, I've been going through boxes of TaylorMade Dad-isms golf balls. They're more of a gift than a "serious" competition ball. My dad found them on sale/clearance at his local sports store/golf shop. At my skill level, they work just as well as, if not better than, the old TP Reds I used to play. As for gloves, I currently have a small collection of TaylorMade Tour Preferred and Stratus gloves that will last me for years. Again, my dad found many on sale/clearance, this time, at the Golf Galaxy (IIRC) on Hilton Head Island. The gloves feel great. They fit well, are smooth and comfortable, and help give me a good grip on every single one of my clubs. I prefer the Tour Preferred gloves because each one comes with a roughly quarter-size magnetic ball marker on top of the velcro flap; not one of those tiny snap-in button ball markers. Dustin Johnson supposedly wore the same glove (either the Tour Preferred or Stratus, I'm not sure). At the time of writing this review, TaylorMade has a star-studded lineup of PGA Tour players that it sponsors including Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Matthew Wolff, Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy. Currently, TaylorMade's most expensive product is the SIM Driver with an MSRP of $549.99. "SIM" stands for Speed in Motion, a "reshaped" driver with a "speed-injected" "Twist Face," among many other features that have been marketed and hyped up. Twist Face has always sounded gimmicky to me, but admittedly, I haven't tried out the relatively new technology yet. Regardless, TaylorMade is one of the pillar golf brands of today and in my experience, they produce solid clubs and accessories. I recommend their products to casual golfers.
