This review is specifically for Dr. Z! He's the best. I live locally, and I have received dysport treatments from him twice now, and both times have been great. The office is small and simple, but they provide water for their guests and I've never had to wait for my appointment longer than 10 minutes. Not only that, but his prices are very fair for the area. I'm very pleased with my results and Dr. Z is very caring, warm, and knows what he's doing! He always requests a follow up visit, just to make sure I am happy with the product and how I look. Dude. What a disaster. This place was the THIRD urgent care I visited in Encino/Tarzana, and braved it because it was the only one open that would take my insurance. I knew it was sketch upon noticing that they are also hocking Botox and fillers, in addition to chiropractic care. It's filthy. The lobby furniture looks like they pulled in curbside rejects for seating. They did my intake (blood pressure) in a makeshift office with workers comp claim files and medical paperwork strewn on the floor (HIPPA anyone?). The intake nurse berated me for coming "late" (the clinic was still open!) and seemed annoyed or skeptical about my symptoms (ear pain). Here's the coup de grace: when the Doctor finally arrived, she brought me into an exam room WITH A SLEEPING MAN IN IT. The guy was hunched over and snoring, and there was zero explanation as to what TF he was doing there or why I had to share a room with him. The doctor checked ONE ear, determined that I didn't need antibiotics and pretended to write me a prescription to see an ear specialist. By then I didn't even ask her to check the other ear. My roommate was snoring too loudly and I was disgusted for having wasted my time. Subsequently did some homework and learned that these guys have been in big trouble in the past for opioid prescriptions. Explains the paranoia-- maybe they thought I was trying to bogart some pain meds? Who knows. Doesn't matter. Not going back and strongly advise you not to go there in the first place. read more

Look, Urgent Care facilities suck. There's no way around it. So all of these reviews below are probably a given. You don't go to a doctor's office because rivers of red wine flow freely and they make the best vegan tiramisu your best friend's boyfriend has ever had; you go because you feel like you're going to die, you're bleeding profusely, you've just lost a leg, et cetera, ad nauseum. My point is, this place is not that bad. It's just an Urgent Care facility. Beginning and end of story. Now, for narrative: I found free parking about fifty feet down Lindley from the intersection of Lindley and Ventura (toward Burbank, for the directionally idiotic--I count myself among you). If you're one of the above-mentioned individuals who recently lost a leg or are suffering from something more serious than a urinary tract infection like I was (sorry, tmi, but this is relevant later. Sort of. In a tmi-kind-of-way), then there is metered parking and valet immediately adjacent. I came in and filled out the necessary paperwork: health background, pain chart--both of which were clearly never read by the doctor or nurse, as there was a lot of duplicative questioning, but whatever--and reviewed advanced directive information. Interestingly, there was a glaring absence of arbitration agreement (so, hey: why write a scathing Yelp review when you can just sue them? Yay! (Just kidding!)). This process took about fifteen minutes, during which time I chugged ice water available in the waiting room for my impending urine test (sorry). The nurse called me at almost the exact time I finished filling out my history. Immediately upon entering my (perfectly sterile, or at least free from blood and/or other objectionable/biohazardous substances) room, the nurse took my blood pressure and collected my urine sample. And then I waited. And waited. I caught up with Facebook. And then I inquired to a friend whether cranberry juice and beer were essentially interchangeable (he said no; I responded that he clearly was a victim of the brainwashing agenda propagated by the cranberry juice industry). Still waiting. I began to nod off... Finally! The doctor (specifically, Dr. Hedvat) came in. He's an older gentleman, energetic and nice-seeming, with a thick but still understandable accent. He had reviewed the results of my urine sample, and indeed, I had an infection. Then he did something mildly annoying, but not altogether uncommon: he began grilling me about my relationship status. (I get it: if I'm floozying around, the chances that I actually have gonorrhea escalate considerably.) So, am I sexually active? Well, yes. And I'm how old? 25. In a monogamous relationship? Indeed. Not married, though? No...NO. And am I sure the gentleman partially responsible for this infection is faithful? Yes, yes I am certain. I understand why the questioning is somewhat medically necessary, but honestly, I always feel a little slut-judged whenever this happens. Even if I was sleeping around, that doesn't change the fact that I need an antibiotic, you know? But, anyway. Minor quibble (yep, I just used the word "quibble"). So doc wrote me prescriptions for multitudinous drugs (I had stated on my chart specifically that my goal for the visit was "acquisition of antibiotics" so I'm not entirely certain how I ended up with three additional medications, but that's fine) and gave me his card. I paid my co-pay (they take Aetna, for the record) and was out the door approximately an hour after arrival. So, in summation, the whole experience was relatively quick and painless. Went to this place to get assistance on an infection in a wound. I was seen by Dr. Farah. He cleaned up the wound gave me an antibiotic injection and some antibiotics to take orally. He also took a culture on the wound. I provided the telephone number of my primary physician so that the results of the culture could be faxed to my doctor. I paid by credit card and asked for the appropriate paperwork so I might send into my insurance company. I was met with resistance as I was informed that the doctor only does paperwork on Monday, which of course this was not Monday. It was now after closing and I decided I would stay until I have the paperwork. Which was eventually filled out by Dr. Farah and given to me. A few days later, I was in my physician's office. He didn't get a copy of the results, which I again had to get involved with the testing company. Said to say, Dr. Farah, incorrectly performed the culture collection so the results weren't valid. Another one could not be performed as I was already on antibiotics. My physician did agree with Dr. Farah, that in fact I did have an infection, changed my antibiotics to a stronger one. While filling out the paperwork for my insurance company, I was lacking some information including Dr. Farah's UPIN and the specific national drug number for the medications given to me. On my first call, I was told they needed Dr. Farah's permission to give out this information. I made another call and another, being told, someone would get back to me. I find this amusing as this information is available on the Internet, which is where I ended up getting the information after all. IF THIS URGENT CARE IS THE ONLY ONE IN YOUR AREA, GO TO THE HOSPITAL E.R. Maybe his specialty is colds, vaccinations. Terrible experience. read more

Receptionist was nice, but everything else - Absolute horror. I seriuosly doubt that staff and doctor have any medical training. I met the dumbest nurse - she could barely speak English, and doubt that she understood me 100%. This place is horrible! I was told to come here for a TB Test and Physical for a job. I went with my boyfriend, and the young man at the desk was blatantly flirting with me. I saw the doctor, and he was asking me if I was healthy. I told him my history & he said "that sounds fine" and he signed my paper for the physical exam. He did not even check me for weight, blood pressure etc. Then he gave me the TB test. I came back a day later to read it & the young man flirting with me checked it for me. I couln't believe that he was all over me when he saw me with my boyfriend the day before. My problem now is yesterday, I called the office to obtain my records for a new job. The woman who answered the phone could BARELY speak English! I was spelling my last name and she asked me to repeat the letter "L" 4 times. The letter "L" does not even sound like any other letter! Then I asked her if she had found my records & she said "I am asking for fax number" ooohhkayy..so I gave it to her. Then she put me on hold for 10 MINUTES! Then she came back & said that she could not find my name in their records. I could tell she knew she was stupid & couldn't speak or understand clearly because she told me to call back later to speak with someone else. Now I have to go through this again! Aren't medical facilities supposed to keep a record on file of the patients they have seen?! It was less than a year ago! I also saw this facility on yelp under a different name yesterday, but I was not able to find it today. 1 reviewer posted pictures of blood and dirt in the rooms. There were also comments on how rude the doctor was on his cell phone on personal calls yelling. I only went here because my job told me to. The guy did not even give me an exam and just signed my papers! I could have lied about everything & gotten away with a fake Physical exam! DO NOT come here! This was a horrible experience. They advertise on Groupon (.com) for botox and fillers. I spent over $600 for their services. While they list their address on GROUPON, they do NOT post the REAL NAME of their company NOR do they post the same phone number as the one that's listed here on Yelp -- seems shady. On Groupon, they call themselves "South Valley". Most importantly, this business did NOT have the product/service they offered on Groupon, NOR DO THEY HAVE IT. Instead of saying "We won't be offering this service", they jerked me around and were incredibly inconsiderate of my time and schedule multiple times. They booked my appointment for filler and then canceled it less than 24 hours prior to the appointment because they "did not have the product/service available". And I missed work for this?? Then they re-booked the appointment for the following week. I take off work, AGAIN, and the night before the appointment, they cancel A SECOND TIME! I'm self-employed, so it's impossible for me to book clients on such short notice once I clear my schedule. Oh, but I'm expected just to rebook an appointment and miss work for a THIRD time on the very strong possibility that Encino Urgent Care (AKA "South Valley") won't have the product/service available that I purchased and they'll cancel AGAIN?! I go to Tarzana Medical and Laser and they have the kindest, most efficient staff and I love my Doctor. He is a genius and he always allows and trust me to make payments ( which is unheard of). I always honor my payments and keep going back. They offer the most exceptional customer service. All I needed was a simple vaccination, but when I asked if they did vaccinations, the receptionist looked at my blankly and asked what a vaccination was. I told her it was a shot. She nodded, told me to wait, then shut the little, frosted glass window in my face. Long story short, I waited. And waited. And waited. Two patients that entered the office after me were seen before she even gave me my paperwork. While I continued to wait, two more patients that arrived about an hour after me were also seen (and who were also disgruntled at their wait times). I talked exclusively to nurses and receptionists, and they were unhelpful, impolite, and almost aggressive. And by golly, it was like they had never seen an insurance card before! After two magazines and a good chunk of a novel, I was seen. I was weighed, measured, and shot in the arm with a needle within three minutes. As I left, I past a series of lovely young women, doing absolutely nothing, just chatting with each other. Well done ladies, very efficient. The place was clean, and I have no comments on the doctor, but every person I dealt with was incredibly unpleasant, inefficient and didn't seem to understand much of anything I said. They couldn't find me in their records (after I left I found out it was because they misspelled my last name) and I am absolutely not going back. read more

Ok, I'll get to the point right away. Dr. Hedvat just saved my daughter's life. I don't care about his accent, his staff or his facility. I have not noticed all that. I was so scared for her life. She's been vomiting for over 3 days, she could not hold any medicine, hence she was burning hot with fever, and no one, I repeat, no one could have figured out what was wrong with her. Her regular pediatrician diagnosed her with flu, which I bought and waited for symptoms to subside. Since she was getting worse and worse I took her to Sherman Oaks Hospital ER (I hate them with all my being - read a separate review on them) and they confirmed it was flu, pumped an IV with liquids into her and sent us home to take it easy and to wait till it goes away. On the third day her condition was the worst ever. I felt like we were in Medieval Times when people died of plague and there was no cure for it. Until my friend recommended me this urgent care and the doctor was there, after 8 p.m., the stupid staff left and he was still there tending to her. It turns out she has a very bad case of sinus infection which should be treated with antibiotics and he proscribed absolutely everything she needed, stayed with her until she properly took her nausea medicine, applied antibacterial ointment on her lips and nose and sent us home with a prescription to get well. People, seriously, you may care about personnel who can't spell right or hits on you or speaks with a heavy accent until, god forbid, there is something seriously wrong with you and you need REAL HELP. My personal opinion that being a doctor is a gift. You may be from a different culture, young or old, speak perfect English or not so perfect, but being doctor is not an occupation, it is a nature. Thank god we met this doctor and, honestly, if I or any member of my family will ever get sick, I will only go here. I have faith in him. Don't care about minor things, look at the big picture. BTW, there is a parking for this facility. The valet is for the Aroma Cafe next door. They share a driveway. You don't have to pay valet if you go to an urgent care. You just have to tell the valet that you are going to Urgent Care and park on the left side. Be well! read more

Of course the problem with reviews for an urgent care center is that you probably don't have time to read them when you need urgent care. I'm too tired to go into the whole thing now as I only got back from this place a while back. Sufficed to say that between a nurse who apparently didn't know how to correctly clean and dry a wound, a teenager (nurse in training?) who seemed to think something about my situation was funny, and a doctor who was very old and spoke a form of english that I was only partially able to comprehend, I really have no confidence in this place. Dr. Hedvat and his staff have been great to both my husband and I whenever we've gone there. You get in rather quickly, the Dr. diagnosis you right away and prescribes the proper medication. He's very nice, cordial and we both would rather go there than an emergency room any day. read more

Went there with food poisoning symptoms and was told I needed 3 different prescriptions AND 2 shots. I asked what they were for and then argued that I didnt need any shots. Why take a shot for vomiting if I'm not vomiting @ all? He diagnosed me with food poisoning, told me i shouldn't eat Chinese food again ( though I hadnt had it in the first place) advised that I eat yogurt and rice for the next week and not to have any fish or fruit. Went to the pharmacy with my prescription and spoke to the pharmacist. He asked if i had severe vomiting because one of the prescriptions was for that. Ugh! So that was a waste of $. He said that that doctor always over prescribes and that he always prescribes the anti-nausea/ vomiting meds. Since I don't speak Farsi I cannot tell you if the problem was just language. I got a major toe infection but didn't notice because my nerves are damaged from an accident. I said this twice before showing him , after I had explained it to the nurse as well. He first saw it and said "why you not go to doctor when you feel pain!?"....ok let me repeat ....nerves damaged...no feeling!! "so when you feel this pain you should have come to doctor!".....LOL...so I laugh now but at the time I got so frustrated!! I started crying I was so frustrated so my husband even had to tell the doctor I had no feeling and kept trying to explain what happened to me. I ended up knocking/tapping my foot on my other shoe and wall to show him I had NO feeling...well my skin was so thin it just fell off...no joke! Started bleeding like mad. Nurse did NOT put gloves on! Didn't clean it! Just put a gauze wrapped around my toe with tape. Then gave me antibiotics prescription and recommended an MRI. I've had plenty of those...but thanks for the advice. Omg.!! My mom who's a real RN cleaned it properly and bandaged my toe professionally with sterile gauze. I made an appt for my son with a fever; we sat for over an hour waiting while he was feeling awful and they took patients who were there for Botox, acupuncture & other cosmetic procedures! They didn't weigh him, they took us in an office with a desk and chair not an exam room, they didn't check his ears or anything! They handed me a prescription but didn't give me a diagnosis until I asked! They cared more about seeing those people versus my sick 4 yr old! This place is absolutely horrible! My experience is similar yet different from the others. I went in to the urgent care facility because I had a rash that was getting worse on my torso. I looked up everything it could possibly be and found out it was a virus that acts out on the skin... goes away in about 12 weeks. But, I wanted to make sure. Not only was the doctor old and creepy... he wandered the halls like a lost puppy. He took one look at my rash and said "oh, it's allergy... you allergic to something." I told him that can't be because nothing in my diet, laundry, or daily routine had changed. He snapped at me, and told me "you listen, it's rash!" WRONG!!! Stupid me, at the end I asked for a blood test for something unrelated. NIGHTMARE!! They couldn't tell me how much it was going to be, and they also left me standing in the hall with a urine test as well. "we call you in 48 hours." I ended up having to call them to get my test results which ended up in them telling me they took the wrong blood test and they didn't have results. I lost it!! They took the WRONG blood test. How stupid can you be!? Several weeks later I get a bill for close to $200 for my tests. The wrong blood test was included and the urine test. I couldn't believe it! I called them, put on hold 3 times for 10 min. each. They couldn't get my name right, and several people came on the phone to ask who I was and what it was regarding. I was told the doctor would call me to explain... NOTHING. Turns out, the doctor told them to tell me he randomly decided that I needed the "wrong" blood test (to cover their ass) and when I questioned the nurse about how unethical it was for a doctor to just randomly decide someone needs something without their knowledge or will. After my results were emailed to me several phone calls later... I gave up. They are UNETHICAL, UNEDUCATED, and DIRTY! Yes, there was dirt and blood stains all over the place. This place is good if... 1. You need to get a script for an antibiotic or cough medicine. 2. You need to be in and out of the place fast (it takes only about 30 minutes from start to finish) 3. You want to deal with a pleasant front desk staff. OOORRR!!! 4. You want a elderly doctor to ask you about your sex life when you went in there for a sprained ankle. (just like Crystal in the previous posting Dr. Hedvat looked in my ears and throat and said, and I quote, "you can tell me the truth, I'm your Dr., do you perform oral sex?" I asked... "you mean on my girlfriend?" and said said " No, on men?" That was the strangest encounter I've had with a Dr. that was checking out my ankle ever. When I told him "no" and laughed he brought it up again twice!! Very strange man. Creepy actually. They also try a hard sell to get you to buy your scripts there in cash. When I declined the Dr. said he couldn't give me the prescription at which point I threw a fit and reminded him that what he was doing was against the law, then he changed his tune. I have been going to Encino urgent care for many years (over 15 years). Before Dr. Hedvat worked there , I used to see Dr. Metzler who has retired. I have excellent PPO insurance but instead of seeing a private Dr. as my primary care physician, I have always chosen the Dr.'s at this urgent care to act as my primary care physicians. They are older Dr's. but I believe that people get wiser with age. Dr. Hedvat cares about his patients. I suffer from extreme allergies and sinus infections, also chronic bronchitis multiple times every year. Not only has Dr. Hedvat done everything he can to help me alleviate symptoms with traditional medicine, he has recommended holistic therapies, and even encouraged my husband to make me homemade chicken soup but with extra cilantro until the broth is green. Dr. Hedvat has always told me that this is the best natural cure for your immune system, and you know what? He's been right every time he's given me advice. I wouldn't go anywhere else. And for all the people complaining about his accent and age, I think that his accent is very charming and I trust him because of the years of experience he's had. His office staff I agree is not very friendly, however I would never judge the Dr. of this office based on who he has working behind the front desk. read more

Run as fast as you can!!!!!! I just came from this place as I have had a severe cold for weeks and have been told that I might have walking pneumonia. I was seen by a young girl who had a horrible bedside manner and horrible smear on her face. She barely said 2 words to me and when she did she said you need a chest x-ray and walked out. I was able to get an x-ray down the street. When I brought the x-rays back, they seemed surprised to see me. Get this, the doctor asked me what the diagnosis was. She had no idea on how to read an x-ray. How do places like this exist. This doctor needs to rethink her career. Medicine is not for her.. I am home and feeling horrible. been here twice now. don't understand some of the bad reviews. the center did what it's suppose to do by urgently treating me. the place was clean. yes, some of them have accents. welcome to Los Angeles! one of the best doctors in my opinion are iranian. if you have a hard time understanding, just ask him to repeat himself slowly. the wait was normal, nothing out of the ordinary. i honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. i was able to go after work hours. thank you for treating me faster than my own physician would have! read more
