Unfortunately I don't have a review of the food because we didn't get that far. My partner had wanted to surprise me with a dinner date at Encore. She personally drove there in the afternoon to make a reservation for us outside. When we arrived for dinner we were told there was no outside seating available and would have to wait 45 min if we wanted to sit outside. We were hungry and the hostess did seat us immediately at a table inside. However besides bringing us water we were not acknowledged. Watching a family to the right of us get seated after us and watching a server go up to them immediately and then watching another large table get seated to the left of us and again they were immediately assisted by a server was definitely upsetting to us. I did look over at the hostess station several times and I know the manager or representative of the restaurant saw me and saw us sitting at our table yet nobody summoned a server to our direction. At that point we decided to go over to Scargo Cafe instead, in which we got excellent service and our food was absolutely delicious. read more

Last nights dinner was Grilled chicken over tagaletele with artichokes ~~ the chicken was overcooked, could not cut it with a knife ~ sauce was tasteless ~~ Fried Calamari was also overcooked we were eating crispy fried pieces of batter. Many restaurants in Dennis close during the winter months. Encore is not only open year round to cater to the local crowd but the food is phenomenal. I enjoy the appetizers as they are delicious and enough for a meal. Their salads are always freshly prepared and their salad dressings are light and tasty. This is one of the new places to visit in Dennis Village. I know you will enjoy it as much as I do. read more

Went to Encore with visiting colleague and his wife who were visiting. Meal and atmosphere were good. Only complaint I would have relates to the acoustics. Too loud. Server acknowledged management is aware of problem and plan to apply some kind of noise absorbing material to ceiling. Will return after noise issue is resolved. read more

What a nice surprise. We live in Boston so the general Cape food isn't usually something we look forward to. Too many have bad service and serve mostly greasy fried food. It's tucked behind the Cape Cod museum and we never would have found it if not for the amazing Yelp review. This place has cozy rooms in an old home and a gorgeous patio. We really enjoyed our meal here, although it was on the pricey side and the place is very noisy. Lobster and mango tower and charcuterie plate were fantastic. Enjoyed the truffle fries and wings although one of us thought wings were not crispy enough. Pastas and desserts are not homemade which is a drawback compared to other restaurants which make their own pasta. Drinks were tasty and creative. Filet Oscar was tender and cooked as ordered. Service was decent although we were missing small plates and utensils as table was not properly set when we were seated. Creme brûlée was good, but not great and the only housemade dessert. If we could do half stars we'd give it a 3.5. read more

It's not easy to find quality, fresh, CREATIVE food on Cape Cod, but Encore has it. It's definitely not the same old same old, which is so refreshing for a change! We had the lobster, avocado and mango tower and wings for apps--great flavor and awesome sauces. Wings are nice and meaty! Great drink selection--a more modern list than you'll find at most places. The beer selection was great too--ballast point, harpoon, Cisco etc. We also ordered the Greek chicken pita--lots of chicken and another great homemade dressing--and the fish tacos--not greasy at all and the slaw was so refreshing with it. Too stuffed for dessert but will go back for the Creme brulee! read more

Love this place! We came here for drinks on a Sunday evening. The bar has a warm/cozy feel, and it was a great place to hang out and talk. The bartender Eric was really friendly, and made delicious (and generously sized!) drinks. Bread pudding is excellent. We will be back! read more

Have no idea how the food is and will never know. Last night we called to make reservations as it was the Sunday of Labor Day and we had to drive the 15 miles from Centerville to Dennis. We were told they don't! Take reservations but that was slow. The five of us arrived half an hour later but were told it would be a half an hour to 45 min wait. The host said in a very snotty tone that after all it was a holiday weekend. We saw an empty six top and inquired about it. Once again I an exasperated manor we w re told it was reserved. We then said that we were told there were NO reservations. He said they took reservations for 6 people. Since some of our group had to go back to Boston we really did not need an extra 30 mile drive. Party of 8 Friday night with reservation. Awful wait for food. Server never apologized. Food was just okay and the were out of the special that 3 of us wanted to order. Had the server tended to us earlier or notified us, could've been different. One diner ordered the tomahawk pork chop, medium. It was med rare and inedible with tendons and fibrous. Another diner ordered a glass of wine that was served an hour after ordering, after dinner, and the server said it wasn't chilled enough to serve! Why didn't she ask if he wanted an alternative. Finally the server brought over the manager who actually tried to argue but eventually comped the glass of wine and half the pork. Of course that did nothing for the rest of us. We've all been there a number of times before. It's very attractive but super noisy, which is why we had wanted to be seated outside. The owner owns the cafe, so I don't know why he can't do a better job with the business and food at this place. Will be awhile before any of us try it again. read more

Encore is a nice addition to the Dennis restaurants. Been there several times and menu selection is very good and varies. I've had the cast iron scallops twice and the meal is tasty and consistent. The small bar area is also an enjoyable atmosphere. Dining room is loud and hopefully over the winter some sound deadening might be added. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. We've been served by Hannah twice and she is outstanding. read more

Ate supper here last night and the spanakopita flounder was one of the best meals I've ever had! We also ordered the lobster fettuccine which was amazing and had tons of lobster in it. For apps we did the tower which is not only beautiful and picture worthy but also light and refreshing. The Yucatan shrimp was so good we ended up dipping our bread in the sauce! I'll definitely be back to try more as everything we ordered was A+. Side note our waitress told us everything is homemade daily- the salad dressings, sauces, etc which makes me happy knowing this is good quality food. Bravo to the chef and team on this new place. Best new restaurant in Dennis and bound to be around a while. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Cocktails are great. Highly recommend the duck entree and the homemade key lime pie for dessert. We will definitely be back soon. read more

Disappointed is the best way to describe my Encore experience. The food was good, but the ambiance and service were terrible. It was so loud inside that you had strain to hear the person sitting next to you, and forget about having a conversation with anyone else at the table unless you want to shout! The staff completely forgot my dinner order, and by the time it arrived it wasn't what I ordered, and the rest of my party was halfway finished with their meal. I asked the manager if there was anything they could do to compensate for the inconvenience. Not only was she not helpful, she decided it was a good time to argue over how late the meal arrived and made me feel like it was my fault. I've never felt so neglected and taken for granted at a restaurant. They truly could care less about their customers. Do yourself a favor and go to the Scargo Cafe across the street. The food is just as good, you can have a nice quiet relaxing meal with good conversation, and they go out of their way to show customers how much they appreciate them. read more

Had a bad experience. Went to lunch with 4 other ladies and ordered the Caesar salad. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a long human hair in it, about 6-7" long. Disgusting. The waitress gave a feeble apology but that was all. I will not be returning and as a local, year-round resident, I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to eat in Dennis. read more

We had a fabulous dinner here with excellent filet mignon, the pasta special with a sauce to die for and exquisite desserts: creme brûlée and a molten chocolate cake. The noise level could be lower, something management is working on, but the atmosphere in the dining room was warm and inviting. Our waitress, Anni, lit up the room with her friendliness. When I heard a new restaurant was going into this old location I was not optimistic. Boy was I mistaken. The food is terrific. The staff is attentive and friendly. The owners are charming. Every time we have been there I've ordered a salad to start. Fantastic arugula, fig, cheddar and pear in lemon vinaigrette is my favorite. My friends enjoyed the clams casino, the shrimp cocktail and the lobster tower. My husband loves the caesar salad. Between all of us on several visits we have had: scampi flatbread, ravioli, lobster alfredo, tornedos, hamburger, and scallops. All was perfectly seasoned, deeply flavored, well cooked and portions are substantial without being overly large. My only complaint is the noise level which is over-the-top when the joint is jumping. Sit in the bar for a dining experience without decibel overage. I should take away a star for that but given the competition, Encore rates a five. Good restaurant options are lacking in this part of the Cape. Encore is a very welcome new face in Dennis. I hope it will continue to thrive! read more

Ate dinner here last night for the first time. We are long time summer residents of Dennis and eat out regularly at our favorite dinner places in Dennis (although rarely on weekends since the lines are unbearable) - Sesuit Harbor Cafe (Encore owners other restaurant), Gina's by the Sea, Captain Frosty's, and Ocean House. I think this place is a winner -- My 12 year old son, sister-in-law and I went for a mid week dinner. We shared the Lobster, Mango, Avocado starter (very good). My son and I each had the fish tacos (excellent). Sis in law had arugula salad with grilled chicken and we all had a doggie bag to go/ Son had a red velvet cake for dessert (which he polished off). Service was attentive and friendly -- waitstaff (Annie) and hostess. Interior main dining room is open with high ceiling and a simple blue/tan beachy feel. As someone else said, there aren't a lot of dinner options on the 6A side of Dennis -- and this is a very welcome addition. Can't wait to return! read more

Although we had a fabulous meal, we were very disappointed at the service in this establishment. The host in particular was very rude, asking our party repeatedly to vacate our table (which we had reserved) after only one and a half hours. We still had our entrees in front of us when they began asking us when we would leave. We were a party of ten people who ordered a minimum of four bottles of wine, we had each enjoyed appetizers and main courses and we were not even able to finish the wine in our glasses when the host asked us for the third time to leave our table. This made us feel so uncomfortable that we were forced to do so. The worst part of this experience was that there were many other empty tables in the establishment, but the host insisted that the parties he had waiting were awaiting the specific table that we were using. Why we were seated there in the first place is beyond me. When I mentioned on the way out the door the disappointment I felt with the encounter, the same host was passive aggressive and again, rude. Again, the food was excellent, and we enjoyed very much meeting the owner of the establishment on our way in. As a local, I believe this would be a great Cape Cod dining experience if the issue of managing reservations and customer relations were resolved. read more
