The evening started with outstanding cocktails--the Perfect Pear Martini was ice-cold, refreshing, and delicious, while the Manhattan was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced. For an appetizer, we shared the sweet potato tempura stuffed with scallop and crab. It was light, flavorful, and beautifully prepared--an excellent start to the meal. For our entrées, the swordfish was wonderfully fresh and packed with flavor. While the accompanying potatoes were a bit dry and under-seasoned, the fish itself was outstanding. The seared tuna was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful crust and tender center, and the noodles complemented it perfectly. Fin has the charm of a historic home, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bar is cozy and welcoming, though on the smaller side, so arriving early is a good idea. We were seated upstairs at a corner table, which provided plenty of privacy and made for a wonderfully romantic dining experience in a quaint and intimate setting. Our waitress seemed a little reserved at first but quickly warmed up and became attentive and engaging throughout the evening. Dinner for two, including tip, came in just under $200, putting it on the higher end of the price range, but the quality of the food, cocktails, and atmosphere made it well worth it. Had a really wonderful meal at Fin this evening. First time sitting at a table - have always sat at the bar on previous visits. Started with the sweet potato tempura stuffed with scallops and swordfish with spicy mayo and eel sauce. It was very tasty! She had the striped bass with jasmine rice, edamame, seaweed salad and mushrooms sautéed in butter which was wonderful. My friends and I came to Fin for a late dinner after a dat of exploring Nantucket. We were able to sit on the back patio, which was lovely because the tables had so much room between them. There were also cute strands of light that made the experience comfortable and cute. The service was a little slow and I did have to wait multiple times for my water to be filled after I finished it, but not a huge deal. I feel like the food was just average. I tried my friend's tuna dish, which was otoro when we went, and it was just not flavorful for me. She enjoyed the noodles though. I thought the salmon was well-seasoned, but it was unfortunately overcooked which made it really dry. The seaweed salad that came with it was pretty standard. The whole dish just needed more sauce because there was a large amount of rice that tasted really dry. We did enjoy the house focaccia with the garlic herby olive oil. Popular and bustling seafood restaurant in what looks like a converted house on Cape Cod. Food and service are excellent (with a rotating, seasonal menu) though certain dishes might be a bit more hit and miss. Our friends tried the "Lobster Doughnut" which looked OK but tasted awful while other dishes like the bluefin tuna were much more appealing. My only complaint on this dish was that the tuna was a bit bland, so recommend asking for some soy sauce on the side to add a bit more umami and savoriness to the dish. The oyster chowder was also excellent, especially given the competition on Cape Cod, although was on the smaller side. Service was attentive and we did not feel rushed. I started with the Stuffed Tempura Mushrooms with Jonah Crab & Scallop and a Soy Glaze: they were amazing. I wanted another order, and even another, perhaps. The flavors were tangy, citrusy, and meaty. Akin to Japanese dumplings, in thought. I want these again. I also had the Broiled Scallop On The Half Shell with Lobster, Sushi Rice, Avocado, and Soy Glaze. It was fantastic. The seasoning was mild so I could taste the delicate and perfectly cooked scallops. I'd have like it more if the rice and lobster were warmer instead of the cool temperature I found. I loved it still, anyways. I wanted bread, so I ordered the Focaccia with Roasted Garlic Herb Oil. It was worth the $4. The bread was fresh, herbaceous, and spongy. The oil wasn't as flavorful as I'd like, but was a nice compliment nonetheless. My entree was Fried Whole Black Sea Bass with Poached Prawns in Prawn Sauce Coconut and served with Basmati Rice and Tomato Cucumber Salad. I've had this several times before at Fin and it never disappoints. My unexpected neighbor at the bar said she likes whole cooked fish, but prefers when the staff filet them. I found no trouble getting to the filets and enjoying the moist, fresh fish. The bartender named Kyle said he'd been employed there for about a month. He was friendly and benefited from the solicitous waitstaff who helped him to deliver and clear food from the full bar of diners. Fin is always great. They offer outdoor patio seating, too. This was an absolutely spectacular meal. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu at first because everything looked so intricate and exotic, where it was almost intimidating. I would say just go for it, you won't be disappointed. Our server, Keang, was excellent and made great recommendations. We started with oysters which came with either a yuzu dressing or a pomegranate mignonette. I got the yuzu while my fiancé got the pomegranate. Both were great but the yuzu really stood out. Next, we got the oyster chowder, which comes with truffle oil. I have a love-hate relationship with truffle oil because I tend to find it overpowering but this was not overpowering and added a nice kick. We also ordered the yellow fin tartar, also delicious. We were a group of 10 and they seated us upstairs with another big group. Service was top notch, our waiter was very attentive and made sure all of us were taken care of. We ordered the sashimi special to start which was tuna and it came with shaved kombu and soy sauce which was delicious! For the main course, I initially ordered the whole sea bass but was informed by the waiter later on that they ran out of it. The waiter was very apologetic and offered to me a free entree (to be honest, I was secretly glad because the whole sea bass was really big and there was no way I could've finished it myself). Fin, ironically, was the last restaurant we ate at during our vacation on the Cape. It was a perfect send off, with fantastic food, and a great "fin" to the vacation. Our waitress, Keang, was amazing and adorable, with a great sense of humour. Just a wonderful person. The drinks with dinner were very generously poured, strong, and delicious. I tried a black manhattan (a manhattan with Rye and Averna), and a Beach Rose, as well as finishing off with a Belle de Brillet pear. All were consistently good drinks. Dinner was fantastic. A cup of oyster chowder was rich, full, and delicious. I also tried the bluefin tartar with lotus root chips. I could have done for some more chips than what came with it, as you're using them as "scoops." I also had the "big eye" special, which was a nice, seared tuna meal. I had not been to Fin in several years so when my daughter invited us to join her and her wife we were excited to give it a try. Atmosphere is good not super fancy but well laid out and comfortable. We were seated on time per our reservation but waited several minutes to be acknowledged. Once our waitperson introduced herself the experience improved dramatically. The menu caters to all tastes and in general is comprehensive enough with an offering from everyone in our group. The staff talk of the chef like a god which was kind of funny but it was obvious they wanted to portray a feeling of class. We ordered several different appetizers and entrees and all of the food was good. Portions are small but tasty, we had salmon, tuna, swordfish and the famous lobster filled doughnut. The food was well prepared and very fresh. We talked as a group about a rating and everyone was happy with their meal. The total cost was in line with high end restaurants on the Cape and though we enjoyed the meal it is a step below the best establishments on the cape hence the rating of 4. I love that Fin doesn't fit the traditional "Cape Cod seafood restaurant" style because Lord knows we have plenty of those. Fin is unique, but still offers lots of wonderful items that highlight the wonderful seafood that the Cape has to offer. Everyone at the table started with the oyster chowder, which is really a must. Make sure to hear the daily chefs specials. They were serving a duck liver paté appetizer which was insanely good. Lastly, we shared the swordfish entree which was served over risotto and was perfectly prepared. My only tiny complaint was that the entree was just a bit under salted. Disappointing birthday dinner for 6 people....$550. Chose FIN because of the very high rating....I think I should have read between the lines. I really wanted to LOVE this place because the eclectic fish forward menu and Asian inspiration. Atmospherically, it's a restaurant in a small converted house, the acoustics were tough and it was hard to hear the people at our table due to the high decibel couples seated across from us. Certainly the food will make up for the lack of ambiance?! Nope!! Cocktails and drinks....$32 dirty martinis that weren't dirty and needed to ask for olive juice. One of of kids asked for a Shirley Temple and it was mostly grenadine....we had to ask for more sprite and ice. Appetizers for us were stuffed squash blossoms, fois gras terrine, bao bun and my favorite....grilled octopus. Everything was just OK. The terrine was $26 bucks and lacked overall flavor...the bread was charred burned. Same with the squash...tasted like it was fried yesterday and could also use some flakey salt. However; the bao bun was way over salted...and my octopus was too charred and not even close to being confit like the menu indicated. Entrees we're the overall star....two $50 sirloins, cooked perfect. Two scallops and pork belly, pork belly was a tad too crisp but I prefer it crisp to undercooked any day....the radish and apples accoutrement were strange and undercooked/raw IMHO. One salmon and one swordfish that was also very good. We decided to skip dessert and didn't want to risk dissatisfaction.... For appetizers, we ordered the Yellowtail Tuna Tartare and their house made Oyster Chowder. The Tuna Tartare was so delicious , you tasted every flavor the dish had to offer. The oyster chowder was also delicious. Make sure to order the bowl versus the cup! For entree, I ordered the Salmon and my boyfriend ordered the Swordfish. Both, DE-LICOUS! We ordered the chocolate terrine for dessert, which was really good but very chocolatey. This was our first time having a chocolate terrine so we weren't expecting it to be as rich as it was. Someone recommended we go here because it was "the best restaurant on the cape"... okuuurrrr BOLD STATEMENT. We drove almost an hour to get there. The only reservations I could get were at 9:30. I called to tell them I have 4 senior citizens with us and they'd be drowning in the soup if we ate that late. The hostess was kind enough to move it up to 8 PM. Since we had to drive so long/far for this dinner we decided to come early to see the town and hopefully get seated earlier. Once we got to Dennis we stopped by the restaurant to see if we could get seated earlier. We got seated 2 hours earlier than our resos which was a good thing because we were already famished. Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious. Yelp reviews did me solid and I came in hot already knowing what to order. Due to us having to drive back an hour we got our desserts to go (TBD on the review for those - we're still in the car) but if they're anything like the appetizers and main courses we will be goooood to go! Went to dinner last night at the Fin restaurant with a 5 PM reservation. On their site you are instructed to arrive promptly because they would only hold your table for 15 minutes or you would be charged $35 per person for a missed reservation. I was there for my 5 PM reservation at 4:50 and had to wait outside until 5:15 because they were not yet set up for opening. When we entered the restaurant after being greeted, we were escorted inside there were seven waiters just standing there in a line as we went upstairs in a very narrow hallway to our table. As we were being seated the hostess informed us that our table was reserved until 7 o'clock and you had two hours to eat. I found this very off putting because we had already entered the restaurant late. Next when our waitress came over to take our orders, she told us about their specials, which sounded delicious. We proceeded to wait another 15 minutes to receive our drink. This made me keep on looking at my watch. I was so afraid we weren't going be done by 7 o'clock and we would be asked to leave before finishing our meals and having dessert. As we were sitting there, there was a couple at another table that were unhappy with their seating arrangement. After sitting there for 10 minutes, using their napkins and were touching things on the table they were given a new table. When the waitress came back, she just straightened out the table and re-fold the napkins, never clearing the table and resetting for the next customers, which I found very disturbing. Our dinners consisted of dishes of swordfish, octopus, the poke bowl and the house focaccia bread were good but over priced for very small amounts. When ordering dessert, they had already ran out of one type of dessert, which is unusual since we were the first seating. Therefore I ordered the homemade espresso martini ice cream which was delicious but instead of charging me nine dollars as it was listed on the menu, they ended up charging me $15 for it, which I found outrageously expensive. Overall, my experience at the restaurant was not what I expected for the prices we paid. The pretentious atmosphere was not appreciated. read more

First time I was disappointed with Fin. I have been there a dozen times with my wife and always sit at the bar (seats 22&23). We love Anne when she is on. I was raving about this place to my friends. So I took a good friend there with me. Food was fantastic (as usual) but it was very disappointing from there on. The first was our table. We were seated upstairs in the first room on the right with 3 tables. Our table was uneven and kept rocking, which was obvious to our server and the young lady who filled our water glasses. The room was excessively noisy due to low ceilings and plank wood flooring. We could barely hear ourselves talk. There needs to be some material added to absorb sound bouncing off all these hard surfaces. Our server,Allison D, cast a negative vibe the whole evening. She was short with us and just gave off a negative vibe that she couldn't care less. In fact, my friend asked "did we do something wrong?". Needless to say, the food lived up to expectations but the experience was soured on service, which is 1/3rd of the experience. Fin is in an old residence. Great decorations, wide floorboards of uneven widths. Really charming, with delightful paintings on the walls. The downside is each room has a handful of tables slightly cramped. And, even with acoustic mitigation, noisy. The menu consists of a column of appetizers and another of entrees. There are some intriguing items, like lobster doughnuts, that you might enjoy. We had oysters on the half shell that were excellent. Mouth watering, saucy and full of texture. My partner opted for two appetizers. The oyster stew was creamy, savory and delicious. The octopus confit was also excellent. The pulpa was cooked perfectly, and the blend with chorizo and fingerlings provided textural variety. I had the tuna, and I was not pleased. The fish itself was excellent quality, mahogany in color. But soba noodles, bok Choi and garlic soy sauce were unremarkable. We wouldn't criticize any of the restaurants in Dennis we tried this week. but, based on our selections, we would go elsewhere next time, based on value and delight. read more

The whole vibe is very elevated casual and it was definitely a great pick for a night out. I loved the particular attention given to the sauces and side dishes--they really complimented and elevated the seafood. Service was great. I am absolutely in love with Fin. Full stop. Two weeks ago, my partner and I spontaneously decided to drive five hours from NYC to Fin to celebrate our anniversary, and it was absolutely worth it. I'm tempted to do it again right now. This was our third time coming to Fin, and despite the aggressiveness of this statement, this was the best meal of my life. I know I will sound like a broken record by the end of this review, but it was all very delicious. If you get anything from this review (or don't want to read it all) GET THE A5 WAGYU!!! Be sure to try whatever the chef has on special: our first course was the selected cheese plate with local honey, strawberry compote, cheddar from Vermont, and brie from New York. The crackers served with them were crispy and delicious; each part of the board complimented the others nicely. The cheese board was an excellent starter to enjoy as we sipped over our drinks. My partner had a refreshing, juicy drink that was made with blueberries and lemonade, amongst other things. It was dangerously delicious! I got the spicy margarita, the reliever, and the manhattan (she drove home). All were delicious, but the blueberry drink was our favorite. Our second course was the clam chowder and the grilled romaine. The chowder had a good proportion of clam, as complimented by truffle and bacon bits. We had to get a bowl to share. The grilled romaine piqued my interest, and it did not disappoint. The oyster and shishito dressing was very flavorful, and I highly recommend adding the lobster because it was a generous serving. We concluded our meals with the A5 wagyu and seared ahi tuna. I upgraded the wagyu to the A5 wagyu from Kagoshima, Japan because my partner was previously blown away by the wagyu bavette, and I will never doubt my intuition again. It was INSANE how delicious it was; this is is what led me to say this was the best meal of my life. It cut like butter, melted in my mouth, and was absolutely tantalizing; it was worth every penny and more. It was paired with a potato dish called "potato truffle terrine" that was equal parts interesting and delicious. It is cooked with a French recipe where potatoes are sliced, combined into a block, and cooked together with butter and truffle oil to create a deliciously layered potato cake. My partner raved about her tuna, saying it was cooked perfectly and that the noodles' sauce was to die for. Unfortunately, we were too full to get dessert, but I have enjoyed Fin's sorbet on previous occasions. The ambiance was great: classy yet welcoming. Came here with the fam for Friday night dinner. We sat on the patio which was nice with the heaters. Our server was super friendly and very informative throughout the entire night. For drinks we ordered the fire & ice martini, Mojo and Spritzer cocktails. These were all only ok but we were really impressed by our waiter who made up a really good mocktail for my mom who doesn't drink. For our starters we got Oysters with a side of sturgeon caviar, the oyster chowder, tuna tartare, and grilled romaine lettuce. If you're willing to splurge a little The oysters with the caviar were SUPER good highly recommend. The oyster chowder was good albeit a little bacon heavy, and the tuna tartare and grilled romaine were also pretty good though nothing super special. For our entrees we got the seared yellowfin tuna, scallops and pork belly, baked haddock and a salmon special. Like with the appetizers it was all good and high quality, the Seared tuna was INCREDIBLE. For dessert, we got the yuzu caramel pineapple, and the chocolate terrine. This mostly comes down to personal preference but the chocolate terrine was my favorite and really well done. It is so sad they are only open for a short few months of the year...not even until Columbus Day!! Their oyster chowder is just to die for! This year, their mushroom appetizer and scallop appetizer were out of this world - sure hope these become a regular part of their menu in the future. Pretty please!
