Yep, my wife and I are still satisfied customers. I noticed that its been 3 1/2 years since I last updated my review and, since there have been changes at Energy Massage, its time to post again. Energy massage used to have a lot of staff turn over. Masseuses would come and go. Some were great. Others seemed to be learning how to massage while on the job. So, there was a lack of consistency and, sometimes, a customer would have a disappointing experience. Not anymore. Energy has had the same stable and skilled staff for a couple of years now. So, whichever masseuse you get, you'll be in good hands. At this place, you'll get a "real" Asian-style massage. Meaning that the masseuse will use their elbows, knees, and palms to smooth the kinks out of your muscles. The massage begins with a dry pressure back massage done through a towel. That is followed by an scalp massage. Then comes my favorite part, the oil massage which starts with your back, includes your arms, and then the backs of your legs. When this is done, the masseuse will leave the room for a couple of minutes. She'll return with hot towels. A hot, moist towel is laid over your back and, again, your back is massaged just a bit through the hot towel. (That is an amazing thing, by the way.) Then the wet towel is used to remove the oil on your back & legs. After that, you'll be asked to flip over. You'll then enjoy a face massage, and, time permitting, I've had them do either the tops of my legs or give me a foot massage using lotion. Some patrons have the masseuse walk on their backs. Not me. This experience is as good as it sounds. I am a bit surprised at some of the negative reviews left by other customers of this shop. Note that a lot of the poor reviews are related to old problems like staff turnover and some staff being inadequately trained. Also, the shop has been spiffed up some and the decor has improved some in the last couple of years. Some people object to paying up front. Well, EVERY Asian-style massage parlor charges in advance. That's just how they do it. If you don't like it then, instead of going to a $40-$60/hour Asian massage parlor, you should to go an American or European spa and pay twice as much - but at the end of the session. People complain that the masseuses speak limited English. That's true. But, again, you just chose to go to an ASIAN massage parlor. If you speak slowly and limit your questions and instructions to massage-related topics, you'll probably be understood well enough to get a firm or gentle massage or to ask that the masseuse spend extra time on your shoulders. And, if you WANT a firm or gentle massage then ASK. Believe me, these professionals know how to massage and, if pain is your thing, they can go deep. People complain about having to tip or the masseuses seeming to expect a tip. Massage parlors are places where tips are expected. Masseuses working in massage parlors that charge $50 or less for an hour massage are NOT highly paid. If you just had a wonderful, relaxing massage and you're feeling great, then peel off $15 or $20 bucks and show your appreciation. Yes, there have been times when I've been at Energy Massage and my massage was interrupted when my technician had to go see who had come into the shop or to answer a phone. That's disruptive. I gave the place 4 and not 5 stars. But, those kinds of interruptions are a once-in-awhile problem - usually when the shop is unusually busy or when for some reason they are short-staffed. read more

Wow, I can't believe I am writing this.....I have never, ever thought I would excited to get a massage over with in my life. I love massage but here, it was absolutely awful. They gal spoke zero English, that's fine but when I tried to tell her to use her hands and not just elbow, she had no idea. Last straw, she grabbed my junk and that was not cool. Anna, the manager took my call when I scheduled this and I asked her do my massage since her English was good. No dice. I'm not even sure I'd call what I had a massage, but I am sure whatever it was, it deserves less than one star. The entire thing was bizarre. It started with her trying to remove my underwear to give me a "better massage". Straddling my head was a new and different technique, and not in a good way. Now if the massage had been decent, I could've possibly forgiven the above events, but unfortunately, I get a better massage when I hand my 6-year old a bottle of lotion and a quarter. This was more of a moisturizing treatment because all she did was rub oil around with one hand. Occasionally she'd lean on my back to try and apply some sort of pressure. That technique also sucked. I was face down on a scratchy towel the entire time so half of my body was skipped. The kicker (and in hindsight, a sign of bad things to come), they have you pay BEFORE the massage. Great practice for the business when they provide horrible services, but not great for the customer. Had I not paid beforehand, I would have stopped the moisturizing rub down in the first 5 minutes and offered to pay for their 5 minutes of time. Instead, I laid there wishing I had my phone so I could at least pass the time with some candy crush. Moral of the story - if you're even considering going here, schedule a root canal instead. Also, don't believe the 4-star google review. Those people are obviously smoking something. read more

Love this place, the girl Lisa is a master of her craft. She performed an incredible massage, even including hot stones at no additional charge. Very clean location and friendly people. To be frank and honest, totally not worth paying the $45. I think it's hard to make a comparison when I am so used to seeing my usual massage therapist who is more familiar with my body, as well as, having far more expertise at his massaging skills. I don't know the name of the lady who worked with me, but she definitely did not meet any of my expectations in terms of a great massage. Throughout the supposed hour of full body massage that i paid for, she only actually worked with me for 45 minutes, not to mention, the SIX times she left the room to talk to other co-workers/handle new customers entering. I have tried about 6-8 different massage places, and this place definitely ranks the lowest in terms of massage quality. On a good note, I did appreciate the quiet enclosed room and space heater that she brought in to keep us warm. Now I have to express my concerns upon my leaving, when I had no intent on tipping her due to the poor quality of service...she then followed me out as i was exiting, looked at me with a discontent/expecting facial expression, I then felt obligated to tip her something...I gave her $5, she then looked at me with disgust, and said, "More, give me $10." Energy massage is a freaking joke. I would never recommend this place to no one. When I walked in I wanted a Swedish massage and they kept forcing me to get a deep tissue for $10 more. I kept telling them no! That's not want I want . Once I got into the room I gave them $100 bill and she did not want to give my change back she kept the 10 saying that she can give me a better massage if I give her extra $10. So I didn't know any better and I said OK. During my session her phone rang twice and alerts kept sounding off. I was getting really frustrated at this point. Meanwhile she was massaging me with no lotion and I told her to put some on and she stated that too much is not good for me. What a joke. After, the session was completed she was forcing me to give her a $20 tip she was blocking the doorway . I handed it to her so I can leave and I told her that I don't think she deserves a $20 tip. I told the owner of what happened as far as her phone going off and her not giving me a good massage and talking the whole time. Forcing a $20 tip when she didn't even deserve it. She did not care and kept saying OK OK go OK go. I will never go to this place again as a matter fact this place should be shut down. I like this place a lot and am pretty surprised by all of the negative reviews. The staff is sweet, and although they make you pay first and don't speak the best English a little bit of patience goes a long way. I've never left unsatisfied. I'm a disabled military veteran with back, neck, and hip problems that a chiropractor couldn't make a dent in but I always leave here with a feeling of relief. It is not a white glove establishment but I prefer technique and results over aesthetics and a polished vocabulary... after all, I come in, close my eyes and don't come here for conversation anyhow. All I have to say is that you get your money's worth here. The massage chairs are super comfortable and their automatic...in which you find rare at these cheap reflexology centers. This spot is right next to safemart..you can't miss it and for $25 dollars your feet soak into a warm tub with those rubber massage pads on the bottom of the bucket..tons of pillows and they actually talk to you. They are very quiet at times when you get a massage. I was amazed and the service was alright. I give them four stars because of the cleanliness and modern look of the place. read more

My husband went an hour before me so we could switch off with our kids. He paid for both of our 1 hour massages . The lady comes in my room and the first thing she says to me is "your husband no tip" I get the frustration but I still felt it was unprofessional and tips are earned and usually given at the end of a service. I assured her I would cover the tip at the end. The first lady kept lifting my towel very high but since she was a woman I didn't pay it much mind. Then in the middle of my massage they switch ladies and she opened the door without telling me with my ass out. The second lady left the room and came back also during my hour. Irritated I go to leave but I still handed the lady number two an extra $20 for a tip even though I felt it wasn't earned being I wasn't to impressed with the service. She had the nerve to then say to me "where's the tip for the other lady?" I won't be going back again I'll also add that not only was there customer service awful but they didn't even massage me for a full hour it was more like 40 min with all the switching and in and outs. This place was very rude, upon arriving I should have known based upon the service while checking in. They demanded full payment prior to service in full. Me being honest felt it was just sign of the times with businesses worried about cash flow. No greeting, or pre treatment review. The massage was not good at all. The last part was even worse when the masseuse attempting to go below the public line. Very uncomfortable and not a good massage. I asked her to stop, and she went and got a wet towel and attempted to clean my pubic area as if some other service was preformed. She did not speak english. I had to ask her to leave.
