These people completely are rude. I called to ask specific questions they could have answered. But the guy on the other end refused to answer my questions by telling me no one could answer my questions and when I asked to be forwarded to a supervisor he argued and told me that even the owner could not answer my questions. At this point I told him I would not use Energy Texas. At this point it is about customer service and to tell someone they are not allowed to talk to anyone else it disrespectful. Been with Energy Texas for a year and have been please with their service. I like their user friendly website and signed up for auto-pay. When you opt for autopay, and choose paperless billing, you'll earn points that you can redeem for gift cards or bill credits. My contract is up in March 2024 if their rate is good then, I will stay with them. read more

If I could leave no starts on here I would. For the last 2 months my bill has been going up more and more. Last month it was 550.44 I paid it, for this billing cycle it's 952 Almost a $1000!!! I called spoke to a rep and I was told they have me at a 19.5 a watt because I'm month to month now. I asked why didn't they notify me and my contact being over and this guy said " We only reach out if it's important" like wtf that is important when it's my money! Thrives. Only went here for the solar buyback program. After a few months they decided to change the program with only sending one email months previous. No letters no follow up emails. Now they want $500 to cancel when the solar buyback was my only reason for choosing them in the first place. I guess if you like smoke and mirrors business practices then this is your company. They shutoff my power 2 days before the due date! I had already paid the bill a week earlier, but find out now I have to pay a $500 deposit they never mentioned about. Pulled payment a week before due date and said it because other banks like BOA are having so many issues, so Energy Texas pulled everyone's payment a week early out of fear they wouldn't recieve customers payments. Energy Texas is the most corrupt electric company I ever delt with. Energy Texas solar buyback programs are a scam and they steal money from your buyback. I signed a 36 inflation fixed with Energy Texas on Jan 2023 at meter rate at 7.2929 c/KWh and buyback at the same rate 7.2929 c/KWh. On the 3rd bill 2/23/2023 - 3/24/2023 only included the meter rate at 7.2929 c/Kwh and did not credit any buyback. In the bill 4/25/2023 - 5/24/2023 had meter rate at 7.2929 c/KWh and buyback was reduced from 7.2929 to 2.5545 c/kWh. The last bill 11/21/2023 - 12/26/2023 had the meter rate at 7.2929 c/kWh and buy back was further reduced to 1.2625. I wrote several emails asking to fix the buyback at the same rate as the meter rate. Finaly, I changed suppliers on Jan 2024 and Energy Texas not only did not correct the buyback rate on all the previous bills, but also charged me a termination fee of $500, although Energy Texas changed the plan several times over the 12-month period. Texas Energy is a corrupt company that offers fixed plans on fixed meter and buyback rates, and immediately after starts reducing the buyback rate to almost zero. Fortunately, there is a class action suit against Energy Texas. Hopefully we can get our money back before Energy Texas goes bankrupt. read more

I've been with Energy Texas for 4 months, and so far, so great! The transition from my old provider was easy, and I locked-in a great rate for 2 years. When I've had questions, they were answered quickly. And I loved getting a discount for using less energy than usual during peak demand hours. read more

i was duped by Energy Igor to get with texas energy because I knew we were relocating to another state and they would charge us a shut off fee for moving out of state. I told them the shut off would be the 24th. Because we were leaving the 23rd to a new home in another state. I was not charge the early termination; however, I was charge for 8 extra days. making the bill over $200 plus! I explained I would note pay the 8 days but till the 24th. they refused and tried sending us to collection one week after the due date. this has been the most frustrating company I have ever done business with. Their website to pay online sucks and they don't really seem to listen or understand the issues when you call in. Then there is never a manger to you can talk to either. they also don't respond to emails either! stay away, the rates are not much better than many others in town, who have much better customer support techs! read more

This company has been a nightmare. They consistently make billing errors. When I call in to ask about my bill the person I am speaking with often cannot understand the bill either and has to ask their manager to explain it to them. I received 3 bills in one month all with different due dates and the dates of service overlapping by several days. Meaning I was being charged for the same electricity twice. Then when they messed up and double charged my account they refunded my overcharge and all seemed good...until 2 weeks later when I received notice that my power was going to be cut off in 24 hours for nonpayment. When I called the lady said she sees that I have a zero balance on my account and my next bill isn't due until the following month. She had to take off the order for my power to be turned off and couldn't even tell me why the order was put on the account anyway because my balance was zero and I never pay late. The lost recent nightmare was when I received my bill and 10 minutes later I received an email saying they had made a mistake and autodebited my account too early, and they would be making it right by refunding the money. Their "mistake" caused my bank account to go negative $381 plus and insufficient funds fee. When I called them, I was assured that I would not receive an insufficient funds fee because they refunded the money. It took multiple business days for the money to reappear in my account and low and behold I did get an insufficient funds fee. When I called the company and asked them to cover the overdraft fee caused by their "mistake" all I got was a big FU and told that they are allowed to autodebit an account ANYTIME after the bill is sent. That's right, they can send out your bill and charge your account several hundred dollars with ZERO notice minutes later. This company takes ZERO accountabilty for actually fixing their mistakes. If they make a mistake and you get screwed, it's "oh well." I have never had an electric company who constantly screwes up and then refuses to pay for their mistake. If you are looking for a good and reliable electric company, don't pick this one. They are awful and give Texas a bad name. read more
