Eastern Armory then offered $500 total for three high-value firearms and repeatedly tried to buy the .300 Blackout AR pistol after I declined. Less than an hour later, they claimed they were "not comfortable" completing the transfer and turned all firearms over to Montgomery County Police and State Police without providing clear reasoning or documentation. I received conflicting information, poor follow-up, and no real assistance in resolving what happened. Be very cautious dealing with this business. The "prohibited person" you reference is my brother, which should have been obvious, as we share the same last name. TK Defense was fully aware of this as well. When I made statements such as "let me check with my brother," "my brother will come with me," or "my brother will drive me to the store," I was not referring to that brother. I have more than one brother. The brother I was referring to also holds a valid Maryland HQL (Nick, call me if you need to verify this), is knowledgeable about those firearms, and was simply someone I was consulting with and who would have accompanied me. Because the transaction was halted before I ever arrived, any assumption that I intended to bring a prohibited person into the transfer process is speculative and unverified. I understand precaution; however, precaution should be grounded in facts, not assumptions. Additionally, I want to note that a woman consulting with a male about firearms does not equate to a straw purchase or transfer. Given the increasing number of African American women lawfully engaging in firearm ownership, it is important that lawful behavior not be mischaracterized simply because guidance or assistance is sought. I also want to add that I figured out your speculation, as someone from the store called me more than 10 times within a single hour. During the first call, based on saying the word "items", he stated, "I figure you are around people and can not talk". That same individual acknowledged this, yet called nine additional times in a row. He was acting like I sat around doing straw purchase/transfer for others as a full-time job, as if I didn't have a full-time job.

Here is the longer review if the TLDR didn't suffice: Let me start off by saying that i've been a target shooter for close to 17 years and a maryland resident all my life. In college, I have also worked at a local gun shop in maryland before, though those days are behind me. I possess a c&r license and while I primarily collect older firearms I've got plenty of modern rifles and handguns and am getting into competitive shooting. I am writing this review as someone who has 1. Consigned a firearm at this store and had it sold for me there 2. Purchased a firearm at this store 3. Hung out and window shopped several times. My experience at this store has been so overwhelmingly positive that it has likely supplanted several of the other local shops in rockville that are closer to me. The atmosphere of the store is relaxed with seating and a free mini fridge stocked with sodas, water, and a coffee maker all completely free. The store is also clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing with a social and relaxed atmosphere. The two gentleman that run this store are unbelievably friendly and outgoing which is often not the case in many gun stores. They are both knowledgeable with one specializing in antique / c&r firearms and the other in modern firearms and equipment. I find the two gentleman to be a great balance to each other and enjoy the time that I spend in the store perusing inventory and speaking with them every time i've gone. If I had to offer one critique, it would perhaps be the small size of the store. This is nitpicky though as they have a decent inventory and are seemingly able to order most anything you need if you talk with them AND one very cool thing they offer is a look for list where they will take your information down and contact you if that special piece shows up at the store (I'm currently looking for a world war one era German Luger). I was looking for a course to fulfill the requirement to receive my HQL and I'm glad I chose ACS…read more While I had some very basic knowledge of guns, gun safety, and gun laws, this class would be great for someone who knows absolutely nothing, as long as they come in with the right attitude. I thought the small class size (I was the only student for my class but Tom, the instructor, said his classes would typically have 3-5 students) was extremely beneficial and in my opinion would set it apart from other classes available. Because I was able, and encouraged, to ask questions throughout the course, it was taught more like a discussion rather than a lecture. This helped to comprehend and remember everything that was taught and easily pass the exam at the end of the class. Some of the questions on the NRA exam are poorly worded and a little confusing, but they were no problem because I knew everything so well as a result of Tom's instruction. After the lecture we went to the range. Since it was just the two of us we rode there together, which allowed the discussion to continue and I was able to get his opinion and recommendation about gun ranges and stores, how to choose a gun, web sites to learn more about local gun laws, and next steps to continue learning and practicing. This is all something I wouldn't have gotten had I taken a larger class with the lecture taught at the range. At the range Tom was very helpful and his knowledge and experience allowed him to quickly point out exactly what I was doing right and what needed to be corrected. Since the lecture portion is done so well, even with the little hands-on instruction we're able to get before going to the range, I was confident handling the loaded gun for the first time. From there, after each set of shooting five rounds, Tom reiterated what I was doing correctly and offered tips on how to correct things that needed improvement. There was plenty of practice at the range, again a result of a small class. As a whole the course was not just very informative but also very fun. I can't wait to get back out and practice the skills I learned from Tom. If additional courses are available in the future I will be coming back to ACS for sure. Thanks to this course, I'm very excited and enthusiastic about my new hobby.
