The items to select from are unique and generally of high-quality. The store is clean and there is plenty of parking. One star removed for their obnoxious request for my phone number in order to be able to return something or God's knows what for. I fought this intrusion on my privacy years ago when they started doing this, now I surrender and give the number but I sure do hate it! Also, their stupid slip of paper for a discount is a waste of their time and mine as there are too many restrictions to save the sliver of paper. Come back several weeks later, make sure the item isn't on sale already, blah, blah, blah - I used to bother to save these coupons but now I just toss them aside. I can tell that they take very good care of their trees, flowers, and plants. They have employees out in the greenhouse actively watering and caring for everything. Went there on December 27th for 50% off Christmas ornaments. Still had a lot of them. Always great to get a deal on glass ornaments. Service was wonderful. My wife and I bought a new Christmas tree after Christmas 2024 (12/30/24) when they went on sale. My in-laws wanted to see it, who live a few miles down the road, so we drove over there and set it up in their living room, oooh ahhh so pretty and very easy to setup and take down. The tree went back into its storage bag and then into storage in our basement from 12/30/24 to yesterday, 11/2/25. We pulled the tree out, set it up, and noticed a series of bulbs were flashing and some were not lit entirely. We took the tree back to the Clinton Township store today to be told it has a 3 year warranty on the LEDs and will be repaired (should be replaced since it's never been used). We receive a phone call an hour later that the tree can't be repaired and our only option is store credit for the amount we paid since the model is discontinued and to buy a current, comparable model which is more expensive ($790 vs the $500) tree. It seems English Gardens does not actually back the items they're selling and are simply trying to swindle an additional $300 out of us. If you decide to roll the proverbial die and buy a Christmas tree from here, make sure to set it up in the store and do a full inspection. I would avoid this place wholly. So at this point we will be taking our never used, brand new Christmas tree back that is not functioning properly and live with it. Our entire family shops here, we will be patronizing alternative gardening centers going forward. read more

This location is my stop and shop store for many seasons or holidays when it comes to fresh flowers, potted plants, annuals, perennials, garden supplies, statues to name a few of my reasons. Since some of the old time "farmers" around my area here sell flowers, they do not offer any guarantee on their grown plants. English Gardens, offers a 30 day plant warranty as well for trees, shrubs and other live plants plus they have special prices at different times of the year. They offer a membership program which is $20.00 a year to help for future discounts when purchasing more items in their store. I saw Ann today and she was nice enough to verify my membership which will expire on 4/30/18. Instead of waiting till the end of the month, I renewed it by showing my BC/BS medical card for my free membership instead of paying $20.00 without. The membership gives me a discount of 10% off each item every time I shop. What a great offer and savings for my small or large future purchases. My plan on March 29th, Thursday was to buy two Easter plants for my Mom to enjoy, take care of in her home till the weather warms up. Then in May she always finds the perfect spot in her backyard to re-plant and enjoy the blooming again of a previous plant received as a gift year after year. Every year I try to shop and buy a different plant with low maintenance for her plus full of flowers that multiple for a great pot of color. I took many photos inside this store to show that English Gardens does offer many Spring and Easter plants from scented or unscented, from low to high maintenance based on one's experience with a green thumb or personality. They also sell many garden supplies to help keep your grass, shrubs, roses bushes or plants healthy and bug free. I really enjoyed seeing the cheerful, relaxing items such as wind chimes, solar garden spikes or spinners, and statues whether religious or humorous to set the mood for my backyard, patio areas, porch, kitchen, or even my living room areas. I was very happy to walk in the store to see how fully stocked and ready they were for the Easter holiday and for the season of Spring. It helped make my shopping time enjoyable to get excited for warm weather coming plus get ready for outdoor yardwork planting flowers in the Spring fresh air! I gave four stars instead of 5 because their prices are a little bit high but like I said the guarantee is worth the price! read more

I have to say that English Gardens does have many unique items besides the usual floral, greenery and garden/yard type things. It's a refreshing store to shop in no matter what season we are in. Variety is my first word to describe all they carry. What other similar stores don't have, there's a good chance English Gardens does. This particular trip, we browsed through their vast amount of Christmas trees and decor and they really do have a lot to choose from. I was surprised to see all of the village pieces they carry along with an abundance of fairy garden pieces, lights, ornaments, indoor and indoor decorations. The help was aplenty and we were approached and asked if there was anything we could be helped with. Since we were only there to browse and price the selection of artificial Christmas trees, we weren't in need of any assistance, but I was happy to see the associates ready and willing to help if needed. The one thing I noticed was other competitive places we looked at recently had some sales or discounts going for their trees. No such luck here and I didn't want to pay full price when up the road, the trees were just as nice in quality at a competitor and they were on sale, which was more enticing than paying full price. We've purchased rocks for our yard in the summer which we couldn't find at other places so they do have their niche with having varieties of items that other places don't carry and that's what keeps me coming back. read more

English Gardens really has some of the nicest holiday decorations I have seen from anywhere else. They are not cheap however, their prices are competitive compared to other high end holiday stores like theirs. Another thing that is great here is the service. Back in the day, English Gardeners was my 1st job. Based on that some I should (still) dislike it.But alas, I love their flowers. English Gardens has many metro Detroit locations that you can visit for all kinds of garden and flower needs. They are able to send out flowers that you would order from an FTD service online, they have landscaping and Christmas teams that can help do lights and put in your bushes, annuals and perennials, or you can just stop in for a bouquet of flowers for Mom or a teacher or friend. They do have really beautiful flowers but beware, they are more expensive than your Kroger or maybe local smaller flower shop. Is the quality that much better? I think that's up to you. I do find that roses in general here seem to be bigger than other roses, but are they more fragrant and do they last longer? I think that's up to how you take care of them. They also have a variety of boutique kind of items like small jewelry or scarves, and at Christmas you can get things like poinsettias and small fir trees to Christmas decorations. They really do have a good variety and with many locations I think they're very easy to find and easy to buy from. My favorite thing about English Gardens has always been the walk-in floral area. You can put together your own fabulous bouquet or arrangement, or ask one of the staff to help put something together. You tell them how much you want to spend, the pull everything out and arrange it for you. That was my favorite part of my job when I worked in the florist over 20 years ago. Yikes. LOL. I do think that you should give them a shot, if you're looking for a plant or expert care or just are in the area and have some time to kill. read more

This is for the Hall Road store. They have some unique selections if money is no object. I came in to buy trees on their sales add. It said select giant arborvitae's. The only ones they had I pulled out onto a broken cart. I got up to the counter and these aren't the ones for sale they say. We go back to look for the sale ones. None there. I Ask the manager for some discount. He says these were mistakenly put in the add and are not on sale. I walked out. They offer landscape services and you can take plants to them and they will tell you what they think is wrong with them and advise you what to do. Just commenting on my wedding flowers- They did a fantastic job. We met and she took my ideas and made them even better. We were also on a budget- and she helped suggest some ideas that would help us save money. The flowers were delivered to our house on the wedding day in a timely fashion - There was one corsage missing, but they had that brought to us quickly as well. The colors and flower combinations were gorgeous - althought I will admit that they did not hold up as well as expected in freak 90 degree weather in October. Wanted something special for my wife as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Went into the English Garden store on Garfield in Clinton Twp. to place an order for red roses. Paid to have the arrangement delivered. Total cost was over $75. On our anniversary (Mon 6.5.17), a 25 red rose arrangement arrived where my wife and I work. Great! But in a few days, the roses began to wilt. By Saturday, 6.10.17, all 25 roses wilted over. Took a picture and called the store to see if we could get a replacement arrangement. Sure! Bring in the picture and it will be taken care of . . . Right. Yelp wouldn't allow me to copy and paste the picture here. The manager was condescending and displayed righteous indignation and made it seem like I was guilty for what happened. "We only guarantee cut flowers for seven days". It was less than seven days. I walked out. I will never, ever, spend another penny at an English Garden store. EVER! And you shouldn't either. Extremely poor attitude and customer service by the store manager. read more

My endless quest for blue parrot tulips, totally sold out at the Royal Oak branch of English Gardens, sent me shuttling up M-59 in search of that perfect addition to my front beds for spring. Clinton Township store was the only place between Detroit and Ann Arbor with the bulbs in stock, and cheaper than ordering them anywhere online. After a quick phone call, an associate set aside the bulbs for me with instructions to pick them up under my name. Compared to the fancy store on the Troy border, the Clinton Township store more resembles a greenhouse built sometime in the 70s or 80s. It's not swishy and glamorous, but the interior is lushly green with indoor plants. Birdsong whistles around the floral department and I found myself looking for nesting finches or chickadees. Their Christmas department in the middle of the store was a bit disorienting in October, pretty ornaments hanging between decorated pines and firs, but 'tis the season once the mums and mulch are done. I was disappointed not to find much selection for mixed bulbs beyond narcissi, but we snagged a mixed group of crocuses and a pretty selection of hyacinths to add to the display. As always, I have to watch myself in these places; they get expensive quick, especially when treated to a variety of different colours and strains not commonly found elsewhere. Check out was a snap and I now have an intense longing for a stained glass peacock I saw on a gifts banner hung near the checkout lane. Ample parking beside the Big Boy is probably very helpful in the height of growing season, but selection here is much smaller than Royal Oak. read more

I really love just walking around this store, and I never really had until I was given a gift of the flower of the month club. $35 for a year of fresh cut flowers or a potted plant, once a month. It's a great Mothers Day Gift idea, and if you miss a month, you still get it the following year. I thought I lost my flower card, so I bought another one for myself. then low and behold, I found the original....now I have double the delight. I totally do not have a green thumb, and kill 90% of any plants I have in my house, but I don't ever give up that one day I'll have a thriving jungle in my home. I know the girl who sells these flower packages too...so hit me up if you want more info. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you much more about English Gardens other than it always feels like Spring and Summer in here and with the obnoxious weather we have in Michigan it's enough to take the blues away for a little bit. Very disappointed with the service. I called on an item for a one day sale they were having and asked if I could pick it up at the end of the day early, because I would not be available of the day of the sale. The individual said I could and would set the item at the customer service desk. When I came in to pick up the item, the manager rudely informed me I could not get the sale, that is for one day only, and that the person who I mentioned said I could, would not have said that, and by the way if they did he was sorry.
