Hate to be the downer of this 5 star bunch, but I got the run around at this establishment and was surprise billed a lot of money becasue I was lied to. Normally dental visits are very 6 months for me, have been since I was a kid. but they cut them into 3x visits every 4 months. Kicker they didnt tell me my insurance only covers 2 visits a year. (My old dentist would always lay out how many visits per year to avoid out of pocket, especially to new patients) So that 3rd one was a hefty out of pocket I wasn't aware of. I paid it, moved on. Being in my late 30s they made it a stressing deal for my wisdom teeth to come out on account of cavities they couldn't get too. Were they bothering me? Nope. Even going to the dentust back home all my life and they never mentioned them coming out. But they were pressing me on the issue here and the front desk personnel told me what I would owe for the surgery since my insurance wont cover all of it. I made sure I got a total bill after my surgery so I could pay and be done with it. I got the surgery done, they took all 4. And it was the most miserable experience and 8 months of excruciating pain I dont wish on anybody. Since lucky me, I had complications. I went back for my check up in july (wasnt covered, wasnt told) and paid my minimum like always. Fast forward to november i get a bill in the mail for over 500$ that I owe since my insurance denied a huge portion of my surgery. Confused I called the front desk and asked what this was. I told her I paid up front for the amount i was given after my surgery. And she told me "it's an insurance thing, I'm handling it" so december comes around i get another bill in the mail, same amount. And i went in for a cleaning and checkup. I asked in person if this was still being handled since I'm getting mailed statements now. And she said "yes, they're calling me today". So i figured they were handling it. In feb 2023 I got a call from the dental billing department that said they were sending my bill to collections to due to neglectful payments!!! I flipped out and told them what i have been told. So the collections lady said she would "look into it" and to call the dentist office and see what they're doing from their side with insurance. So of course I called back and the lady who said she was handling it I guess up and left? there's someone new in charge handling all her work she left behind. So I explained the situation and all I got was "I will look into it". Its now April, nothing has been solved, I keep getting pushback from the billing agency, the office will not return my calls or figire this out, and my insurance says they "dont have enough Information to look into this further." This is straight up obnoxious!! And the kicker was when I went back in feb for my cleaning the doc checked my mouth and said "I dont see any cavities back there". But you said there were and that's why I went though that traumatic painful surgery??? I'm so tired of the runaround and lies. Completely awful way to do business. I canceled my appointment and I will never be going back there. I do not have that cash just lying around and I should have been quoted the actual amount upon my surgery A YEAR AGO, so I could get a better idea an a payment plan set up. Incredibly upset. I have to continually take time out of my day to call the collections and billing to see if anything had changed. And they just keep saying "there are notes on here, and we are working with your insurance". So what am I supposed to do? If your insurance wont cover the procedure, make sure you check the whole thing before the person receives the surgery. Seeing a breakdown of only a portion and bolling them for more later on an "oopsy error" is very deceitful! read more

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, had the worst toothache. I was terrified to go to the dentist, knowing I needed an extraction. They got me in the same day I called, told me what needed to happen and in the meantime gave me antibiotics and pain meds as it was infected. Dr. Alvarez was patient and eased my anxiety. I was scheduled to come in for the extraction the week after my exam, however the next day It was unbearable, and they were able to squeeze me in. I expected it to be so painful, but the tooth was out in less than 3 minutes.. I didn't feel a thing. I didn't have any bad experiences with Dr. Alvarez, and I will definitely come here for all of my future dental work. I don't feel near as much anxiety as I did prior. Customer service exceeded my expectations as well. Everyone was very kind, understanding and patient. read more

I use to really enjoy coming to this dentists office. The dentist and staff were always very kind and thorough. Recently though they initiated a new protocol per corporate that if you do not respond to their autogenerated messages reminding you of your appointment then they will cancel you. However they will not send an automated message saying that they cancelled you nor does it say in said auto generated message that you must respond or they will cancel. I called and made the appointment only a couple of weeks prior so not so far in advance that a double confirmation was thought to be needed. I drove over there on-time to my appointment for them to tell me that my appointment was cancelled. I did not appreciate how they treated the situation at all. read more

MALPRACTICE, trying to get your money by lying about dental work needed! My very first time going to this clinic was extremely stressful. The cleaning went fine but by the time the exam came, the dentist told me I had 2 cavities that needed fills ASAP. I had no tooth pain and have great dental history, so this was extremely surprising. He mentioned drilling would be involved. I was so shocked I decided to get a second opinion. Thank God I did! At the next dental office I went to, they did a very thorough exam and took new x-rays. Big surprise, I have no cavities! Not even an early sign of a cavity. I'm so glad I didn't trust them. I can't imagine if I had gone through with it- I would major dental problems! Please please please don't trust these people to give you the honest truth. They want your money, nothing else. read more

This has been the first time i've gone to the dentist in a while & i made an appointment here. i was greeted with kindness and they took me in almost immediately after i signed in. the dental assistant was so helpful and knowledgeable! i felt like i wasn't judged by how my oral care was. i left feeling great! they had given me a sheet of paper basically saying how much my insurance covers and what i'd be paying out of pocket, which i think is amazing! i will be coming back! read more

This place is absolutely amazing.. from the dentist to the staff. My bridge was loose and I called my original dentist to see if I can get an appt asap. He told me " ma'am there's no way your bridge is loose I just did in back in February". I said ummm ok well let me get the earliest appt. Which was next Wednesday 6 days out but I still made an appt because my bridges was indeed loose: my bridge came out at 2am the next morning and I was freaking out . Call Enhance Dental down the street from my house pretty frantic and the front desk receptionist was amazing. She literally calmed me down and got me in at 8am. First off let me say I NEVER leave reviews, but my experience with this office warrants one. I used to go to Premier Dental for years with zero issues. I was informed that they merged or was bought by Enhanced Dental, ok let me give them a try. My very first appointment was scheduled on a Monday, well the office is closed on Monday. I called and they said there must have been an error when transferring systems. My husband had done work done at Premier Dental that we were trying to submit a claim in for reimbursement from our insurance, Enhanced said they would submit it. It was denied because of incorrect dates and no X-rays. I've called multiple times trying to get a narrative in lieu of X-rays and was told that the dentist that performed the work was no longer there and I asked if another dentist could submit the narrative. The office manager said she would check and call me back. Never received a call back. I called my insurance company myself and they told me I could get the stays from our new dentist and submit those. Oh and in top of that when enhanced said they would submit the claim that if a check was sent to them they would deduct a balance owed them. I said what balance? Because I have received zero invoices in the mail and I was told very rudely, well you were made aware. Regardless I'm not just going to give you money without an actual invoice. Extremely rude, annoyed that I, the customer, actually needed something from them. Zero stars. read more

I was very impressed with Dr Alvarez and his practice all around. He has great assistants and receptionists are quick to help answer any questions. The clinic is very clean and they have state of the art equipment. I was so impressed that I also decided to go forward with orthodontics. I'm looking forward to getting the perfect smile thanks to Dr Alvarez and his incredible team of professionals. This Dental office is mostly good pros: nice dentist, nice front desk staff, TV/music available while getting treatment. cons: be careful to check with insurance on special treatments offered. Insurance has denied some claims. On the same note, their understanding of billing is limited which can lead to getting charged more than you should. Another con for me is that they do not offer ANY silver fillings. Last con-they close very early so you aren't able to get a late afternoon appointment. Although they are nice people and it's a nice dental practice, the cons are starting to outweigh the pros for me. read more

I need a dentist like this! They have a TV set up so you can watch Netflix while getting you teeth worked on! Dr Alvarez and his team were amazing with my daughter today! She was so anxious and scared to get her teeth fixed. Two baby teeth removed and she felt nothing!!!! She didn't even know he stuck the needle in. I can't believe how smoothly everything went! Great experience. Best experience I had in very long time. Nina in the front is so sweet and awesome! The entire time I was waiting to be seen we just talked about EVERYTHING...she was down to earth!! The dental hygienist, Cheryl, was the sweetest lady and paid attention to detail. She was very thorough in my cleaning. She was informative of what she was looking for while she was cleaning my teeth. The dentist, Dr A. , was very very nice and very informative. He explained every single thing about my teeth. Took pictures and went tooth by tooth to let me know if I had any issues on the pictures. Maria, the lady who checked me out was very pleasant. Just had my permanent cap placed today with no pain! Dr Alvarez is an excellent dentist and I didn't even feel the novocaine! His assistant, Christine, is gentle, professional, and very nice. I have a major phobia of dentist and Dr. Alvarez eased me into my treatment starting with a temporary filling before before my European vacation up until today with the cap. I have been coming to this dentist for a few years. I absolutely love DR. Alvarez and the dental hygienist who assist with my cleanings. HOWEVER, recently I had the worst experience I have ever had with any company. This office went through some sort of platform switch that has created a ton of repeat paperwork and many incorrect invoice requests. Besides their organizational issues I wanted to share another experience. I requested an early appointment as I had a meeting to get to after-- my appointment was started late and when I sat down I asked the receptionist Melissa if I would have enough time to have my cleaning completed. I was told it would take 45 minutes rather than the 25 minutes I was quoted upon setting up my appointment. I was very disappointed that I would have to leave the office with no cleaning. I shared my disappointment and exited the chair. While I was leaving Melissa halfheartedly apologized and I did not acknowledge her I just left the facility. I was now late to my meeting and drove 30 minutes out of my way for a service I did not receive. I thought surely they would call and try and reschedule me... Not only did I not receive a call back, but I also was placed on a "Do not call list". When I called to reschedule I was sent to a corporate office who requested I place a $50 deposit to setup my rescheduled appointment. When I called the office today Melissa the receptionist/ supposed "Manager" said she tried calling me and left messages for a rescheduled appointment. (This was untrue) I assured her I never received any calls, and she went on to tell me that she remembers me and that when I left upset at my last visit I "hit her in the head with my purse"!! First off-- this is an absolute lie. I would never invade someone's personal space. She insulted my character and integrity as she argued with me on the phone stating over and over again a lie she has made up in her head. I asked her to please pull the cameras on the date of my last appointment as I know 100% this was a false statement. She declined to pull any footage and then rudely hung up on me. Not only do I use this dentist-- but my entire family uses this office. My father, little sister, and my husband. My entire family will be finding a new dentist as this experience was the worst I have ever experienced. Poor management, organization, and I also have received 3 different invoices of amounts I apparently owe. When I try to settle up I am told I do not owe anything. Complete MESS!!! Do yourself a favor and pick ANY other facility in San Antonio other than this one!! They do not care about taking care of you and something is really wrong with the lady who sits up front and calls herself the manager! I cannot believe she would bold face lie about me and state "I hit her in the head with my purse"! She clearly has some major issues she needs to get worked out-- until then I guess the company will suffer and continue to lose business. Hope this helps someone else! read more

The staff here are very friendly. They are quick to answer all your questions & are really helpful. I am glad i found this place. I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time & they didn't judge me for that, they simply told me everything that my teeth needed. They let you know of any charge that may occur before hand so you aren't stuck paying for something you didn't agree to. Dr. Alvarez is an awesome dentist my teeth look & feel awesome after my visit. Dr. Alvarez and his staff are the best! They are so kind and gentle and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I love that they give you an option of watching your favorite show on Netflix or listening to your favorite kind of music while your getting your work done. They even give you a warm wash cloth to cleanup up after your visit. They really go the extra mile, they even worked me in the schedule last minute when I had an emergency come up. Worst experience I have ever had , Dr. Alvarez never did anything for the pain he caused me , He broke my tooth when he did a previous extraction and never told me , he kept giving me steroids and antibiotics all while my tooth was cracked, I experienced pain for three months . I am scared of dentist pretty much my whole life. It starts with the very uncomfortable X-rays and then the procedures it self. It took me a long time to have the courage to go again. Luckily I found Enhance Dental. I went in and told them upfront how uncomfortable I am with X-rays and the technician worked with me. It was so much better then I ever experienced before. Dr. Alvarez took my fear away and I was able to stay relaxed the whole time. I am looking forward now to my appointments and even brought my husband and kids in as patients.
