I finally found a dental home I can trust. My first visit was to the endodontist because my dentist…read moreat the time didn't have an in-network endodontist for me. I had a root canal that was not at all as I remembered them, and that was a major relief! This endo and his assistant (Monty and Dr. Galvan) were competent and trustworthy. I noticed that the front office was run well, too, and it just felt so much better than where I had been going. I made the switch right then. On subsequent visits, I met with the best dentist I have had in a long time, Dr. Christine Derosa. She is competent, personable, and she looked out for my finances while doing the right thing clinically. What a departure from my previous dentist office. The dental assistant and hygienist are also very personable and competent. What a joy to find a practice of this caliber. Thank you to all!

We had a mixed experience at Kitty Hawk Smiles Dentistry…read more Unfortunately, my visit started off poorly due to the front office manager, Nikki. She came across as very rude and unwelcoming. She frequently talked over me and cut me off before I could finish my questions or receive clear answers. That kind of interaction is frustrating and not what you expect from someone running the front office of a dental practice. There was also a communication issue during the appointment. The hygienist was not informed that I was receiving orthodontic treatment, so the cleaning was started without removing the braces first, which should have been addressed beforehand. That said, the back office staff was great. The hygienist was very informative and took time to educate me on proper care and how often certain treatments should be done. The doctor and orthodontic staff were also excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Overall, the clinical care itself was solid, but the front office experience and communication need improvement, as they set the tone for the entire visit.

FRAUD !! FRAUD !! Do not come here if you have an HMO plan such as Guardian. Pat Booker Dental Care…read morewill lie and give you a dentist that is out of network and not tell you and force you to pay for services that are not covered by your insurance. You can tell because the insurance statement will say "Out of Network" as it did with me. I'm currently filing a complaint against them via my insurance carrier. As they told me, I'm not the first to file fraud against Pat Booker Dental Care. Pat Booker also randomly changes appointments around all the time and has terrible support. After I called them to cancel my upcoming visit and tell them about the fraud they are committing, they had the gall to offer me orthodontic services. Read the room, Pat! I'm never setting foot in this office again. UPDATE: Guardian has sided with me finding Pat Booker Dental Care at fault. I have been awarded a refund of over $400. Pat Booker Dental Care claims it was "administrative oversight" but none of them at Pat Booker Dental Care had taken me seriously when I pointed it out to them. Suddenly they changed their tune when Guardian investigated and it became an "oversight". I call BS. Don't trust these people.

Summary: If you value your time, avoid this place. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and…read moreincapable of managing appointments properly. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else otherwise you'll waste your time like I did. ------- I've had multiple issues with this establishment over the past year, and I've been hesitant to post a review because I hoped things would improve. They haven't. While their dental services might be excellent, the constant issues with appointments force me to give them a scathing review. I hope they read this and realize they need to overhaul their management. A few months ago, I received a call saying they couldn't accommodate me because there wouldn't be any hygienists on site. That's fine, and I rescheduled. But when I arrived, they claimed they didn't have me in the system. I made a trip for nothing, which is incredibly inconvenient since I moved to another city in TX. I come back to San Antonio once a month to visit family, so my scheduling is very deliberate. With my most recent appointment for a regular check-up, I arrived to find a sign saying they were closed due to IT issues. No notifications were sent. You'd think a well-established dental practice would have contingency plans, but no. Once again, my time was wasted. My point is: Customers shouldn't have to worry about whether their appointment has been recorded after they make a call. Mistakes can happen, but that's why you train your employees properly or at least inform customers that they will receive a text/email confirmation and to call back if they don't. They've never said this to me. After that whole debacle, I've always had to verbally confirm over the phone to see if I'd receive any text/email notification to confirm my appointment, and if they said no, I would be extremely skeptical and have to call back. Scheduled customers should also be given a heads-up when unexpected events occur and they have to suddenly close for the day. If everything is reliant on tech, they should have some kind of contingency plan to be able to communicate issues with customers. This is not a nail salon or a restaurant where it's no big deal, people can come back the next day, next week, whatever. This is about people's HEALTH and their LIVES. When we have to reschedule sometimes the next available date isn't until over a 1 month because they're booked or we are unable to make the dates they have openings. This establishment needs to place greater importance on their clients' well-being BEYOND dental health and professionalism.
