Last April of 2024 I had multiple fillings put into my mouth at once. This was my first time ever having filling so I didn't know what to expect and the Dr.Okafor nor his hygienist explained the process to me. So they proceeded to drill into my mouth with out any numbing solution.... Again I didn't know I needed this because I didn't know what to expect. They began drilling in my mouth, and I began to cry and just accept the immense pain. Then they finally noticed and asked what was wrong I told him that I could feel everything and it was hurting tremendously. The hygienist then goes I forgot to numb her mouth. Then he yells at the hygienist and then he starts injecting my gum line over and over and get upset that I didn't tell him that I was in pain.... Literally didn't know what it would feel like again and I even told him it was my first time. In my whole 23 years of life I've never had cavities until now. Anyway moving forward the original reason why I was even there was to get my wisdom teeth removed, and I prepaid for my appointment in advance, and then the doctor proceeded to tell me that he could not pull out my wisdom teeth due to the x-ray that he saw and that I would need surgery and he would refer me out mind you he had already looked at these x-rays at the last appointment we had so he could've told me that at the last appointment we had...so that was a waste of my time! So then since I took off of work so I could come to this appointment. I said well why don't we just get my fillings done instead. Boy was that a mistake... I should've just went home. This is how I got my fillings done if you would like to say that because then afterwards my bite was all off and I had pain for months!!! It was extremely painful to eat or drink anything for what felt like forever, whether it was a hot or cold food or beverage item. Now I'm trying to get the money back that I prepaid them and I've called 4 times now and they said they would send me a check and it's now January of 2025 and I have not received anything. Upon entry, I was greeted by the receptionist. Promptly checked in after completing a questionnaire and was seen within 10 minutes. Absolutely love my hygienist! I've had her for over a year and a half now. She's friendly and talkative, making the cleaning go by faster. The entire office is always tidy and clean, as well as equipment looking orderly. I didn't see the dentist this time around. My only criticism would be for there to be snacks! The dentist who was in this particular practice used to provide snacks, water, and coffee for the patients so of course I'm comparing. Otherwise, would definitely recommend! read more

I am terrified of dental clinics! Especially when its my first time visiting the clinic. However Heritage Dental has changed that sentiment for me. The staff is very attentive, courteous and professional. The clinic is clean and inviting. Their equipment is excellent and better than what I am used to seeing. I have lock jaw, very sensitive gums and a pretty small mouth which makes it very challenging for any dentist. Dr Sam and his tech (I forgot her name) were fantastic! They listened when I explained the challenges I face when getting dental work done. They were patient and allowed breaks when I could no longer keep my mouth open. Even though they worked on a few teeth I didn't feel as if they were rushing or trying to cut corners. I once had a dentist hit a nerve with the needle when numbing my gums. It was excruciating and lasted two weeks. The experience at Heritage Dental was soooo much better. I feel Dr Sam understood how nervous I was and took extra care when administering my injection. He and the tech also gently talked and soothe my nerves when I thought I would hyperventilate. Although I felt some pain it was manageable. I would recommend Heritage Dental to any and all looking for a dental clinic. They truly foster a family atmosphere. read more

If you are looking for a great dental office, please go here!!! I ended up selecting this office because my mother and sister go here and they told me great things about the staff. I was so nervous during my first visit because I had not seen a dentist in 13 YEARS!! I was worried they would tell me bad things about my dental health and that they would recommend so many procedures, I was worried about pain and everything else you can imagine. From the moment I walked in, my nerves settled. It was such a comfortable waiting room and the ladies at reception are so warm and welcoming! The young lady that helped me set up my appointment over the phone, Jherri(sp?), recognized me immediately. She gave me new client paperwork to fill out and explained as much as she could to me. Within moments of returning the paperwork, Darlene, one of the hygienists, came up to get me prepped with mouth x-rays and to prepare me for my cleaning. I was explaining to her how nervous I was and how long it had been for me and all she did was make me feel comfortable and calmed my nerves. She was very understanding and very comforting. She explained that there would be mild pain and discomfort during my cleaning because it had been so long for me. During the cleaning, she let me hold the spit vacuum and said if at any point I wanted her to stop to hold it near my mouth. Anytime I flinched, she stopped and asked if I was doing alright. She was very reassuring. Once the cleaning was over, I went over the payment for that day with Jherri and Darlene told me that the doctor would be in soon to go over my treatment plan. Dr. Brad came in, introduced himself, asked how I was doing. He explained to me in terms that I could understand what we need to do as far as taking care of my teeth. He was very thorough. I could actually understand what was going on and what their plans were. Once all of that was done, I set up an appointment with Darlene to come back for the rest of my cleaning (it's a long process guys, especially when its been this long). Then Marcie came over to discuss my treatment plan and how much I would pay out of pocket for each procedure. She was very thorough, very understanding. I wanted to get it all over with so I said okay to what she was showing me and set up an appt for my cavity fillings and prepaid. GUYS LET ME TELL YOU!!! When I went for my cavity fillings I was so worried about feeling the needle. Dr. Brad is so damn good at what he does that I did not feel a thing!!!!!!! I am such a scaredy cat when it comes to needles and I cannot lie. I DID NOT FEEL THE NEEDLE GUYS!! I was so happy!! I was surprisingly relaxed during the whole procedure and he filled my three cavities in less than an hour with amazing results. He spoke very soft and comforting to me, and he and the tech were constantly asking me if I was doing alright. I recently had the worst dental experience I've ever had in my entire life with Dr. Tom Najjar . Nobody recommended this dentist to me, I saw his practice on Facebook and the reviews were positive; this encouraged me to make an appointment not to mention it was close to where I live. On the first visit and examination, it was recommended I have a deep cleaning performed. I told them I didn't want a deep cleaning, I just wanted a regular cleaning. They didn't want to do just a regular cleaning and kept insisting I should have a deep cleaning. I should have thanked them and just walked away and not return for any other work. Instead I went to a specialist dealing in problems of the gums. After examining me and taking x-rays, he said I did not need a deep cleaning. The specialist told me that I did not need any gum work. Despite my concerns, I returned to the dentists near where I live and decided to change a damaged crown I had, OMG big mistake I made the appointment and told them twice I had no problem on the right side it was the left side I wanted the crown replaced, the assistant tells me that the doctor wants to start working on the right side. I explained again I had no issues on the right side I needed to change the crown on the left side. The assistant leaves and returns and starts taking the impression on the left side. Dr. Tom Najjar comes back and tells me I have a small cavity which should be repaired. By the way, my lifelong dentist, with whom I see two or more times a year had examined me before the pandemic arrived, and did not notice any cavities. Although a little suspicious, I accepted the dentist's recommendation to fix the cavity. After a while in the chair it seemed like is was taking a long time to fix a small cavity; well, without telling me the dentist had removed a part of my tooth that the cavity was worked on, which was not hurting or had any problems with. I had only wanted to fix the crown on the left side which was next to the tooth that had the cavity. After he finishes, an assistant arrives and tells me the dentist prepared the teeth in order to put two crowns on. I questioned why he had done this because I only wanted and needed just one crown. He told me he did it to prevent a root canal later on. I left the office and cried all the way back home because of the work he had done without telling me, I know it was on the treatment plan, but I didn't want to do that . I returned two weeks later because the crowns were ready. I arrived and was met by the assistant who to me back to the chair and tried to put on the first crowns on. The crown did not fit properly. The assistant took the crown back out of my mouth and she dropped it on the floor. She cleaned the crown and tried to put it back on the tooth. Again, the crown did not fit properly. The assistant tried putting the other crown on the second tooth but it didn't not fit properly either. While removing this crown from my mouth she dropped it on the floor as well. She picked the crown up off the floor and went to speak with the dentist about something. At this point I don't know what she told Dr. Tom Najjar because he came into the room and he tried to fit one of the crowns on my tooth. He could not get the crown to fit properly either. The dentist started using the drill to help shape the tooth in hopes the crown would fit properly. My tooth started to hurt really bad so he stopped drilling and wanted to administer more anesthesia. I told him I didn't want any more anesthesia because my mouth was already very numb but I think he had hit a nerve. I told him I wanted him to stop and not to do anything else. Dr. Tom Najjar started discussing the situation in a raised voiced. I kept telling him I don't won't him to do anything else. I grabbed my phone and start recording, that's when he calmed down. After he calmed down he wanted to put a temporary crown back on to protect my tooth which I agreed. I got out of the chair and asked for my records before leaving. They told me it would take two weeks to provide me my records. They also agreed to refund my co-payment that I had already given them. I can keep writing details but this is the most important thing that happened to me, I hope and it doesn't happen to you. Even two months later my tooth is still hurting and I'm still seeking treatment to fix my tooth and have a new crown put on by a different dentist. He's the worst dentist I've ever met. I'm deathly afraid of going to the dentist due to negative past experiences BUT I've got a change of heart and have been going to Heritage Dental in Universal City almost weekly for several months now & Dr. Sam as well as his team of ladies (Chris especially) has been nothing short of outstanding!! He is extremely gentle and kind. He's very good at explaining my options & even spoke to my Oncologist (I'm a Cancer patient) prior to doing any work as he truly cares about my health. Dr. Sam has made time to see me on two separate occasions even though I didn't have a scheduled appointment. The ladies at the front know me by name and greet me with a great big smile. I've received a thank you card in the mail which was unexpected but really nice, and courtesy texts reminding me of future appointments. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Sam & his entire staff as they are all so positive, knowledgeable and professional. read more

I've had issues with one Wisdom tooth for years. The cost was always more then I could deal with and the pain wasn't that bad. Until the other day, I called Heritage Monday afternoon and had an appointment for Tuesday Morning. The staff was friendly and professional. Everyone walked me through what was going to happen, why it was happening, and how. They even squeezed me in for an extraction that day. The dr and they hygienists all explained, in detail, what services were being done. They didn't stop at my extraction either. They did a full workup of my teeth and gums, told me of other issues I needed to take care of. The prices were reasonable, thankfully I have dental now, but still it wasn't as bad as other places I've been. The extraction itself was so fast. I was numbed and only felt some pressure. The Dentist was very sure to make sure there was no pain. Days later, no pain. Overall, a great experience. Will tell everyone I know. read more

As an individual that has dealt with cancer, fibromyalgia, insulin shots, knee shots, and asthma, I would not consider myself to be a wimp, however I have an intense fear of going to the dentist. I believe that my dental phobia is related to some of my past traumatic experiences. Going to the dentist became an embarrassment because my fear made me act in ways I did not like. I tried self-talk, deep breathing, and relaxing, but I had no control over my body. When I stepped into the dentist office to get some work done, my phobia would take over. Imagine the feeling when a dentist told me that I must have all my teeth pulled out. I started my journey looking for the right dentist. I went through three dentists but after having some work done I would not return. In July of 2018, I read the reviews of Heritage Dental on Pat Booker road. I was amazed, excited, and hopeful, yet still weary. My husband had dental problems and I made him go so I could go with him and observe. I was very impressed with them. My husband told Dr. Samra about me and although I did not have an appointment, they asked me to come back, so they could take a look. I talked to the dentist (Dr. Samra) and it was then that I realized the importance of having a dentist that would listen to and acknowledge my fears, I had never had that. I felt if he could be empathetic when I was talking to him, he would be empathetic during treatment. Well it is now going on three months and I am almost done with my all my dental work (I didn't have to take all my teeth out). I still get nervous and anxious; however, I know that Dr. Samra and his dental assistant Chris (who is amazing, kind, considerate, and thoughtful) are the best that anyone can ask for and I trust them to take care of me and do their best to make me comfortable. I have NEVER felt that toward a dentist. They have proven themselves over and over again. My teeth are looking great. I now have a dentist that I plan to keep and anyone I talk to I tell them this is where you need to go to get your dental work done because they are amazing, and they really do care.......... And I cannot leave out the office staff, I have seen public workers who would do better to not have contact with people because they don't know how to act. These ladies could give classes on the etiquette of treating people. They deserve the award for being the most considerate staff that I have ever met. Thank you for taking care of me.
