Forget about how fun the boats alone are...Bailey gave us clear instructions on use and made sure that even our youngest driver was comfortable on the water. Beyond that, Bailey made sure to point out different wildlife, track dolphins with us, tour the island highlights and took SO many great photos that he shared after our day. Then we went into the low country...it was beautiful and plenty to see. Got to see a huge eagles nest and the eagles were flying high and hunting. The Catamarans had 30hp on them and they scooted across the flat water all in a very safe and comfortable fashion. We had Ben as a guide and he was very good and made a solid point to stop and speak about the areas we were exploring. He stopped at Dolphin Head Beach which was fine..but I would have preferred to spend that time cruising in the water. It's a well run organization that knows the area. I will Plan on doing this trip again when we return.

For nostalgic reasons, I decided to treat the family to one on our visit to Hilton Head this year. We were fortunate to find a parking space in the parking lot near the Lighthouse at Sea Pines. We walked around a bit until one of the benches in the harbor opened up. The family stayed there while I went to figure out where to get onto the boat. This gave me the opportunity to take some pictures in the harbor. When we boarded the boat, we were guided to a table on the lower deck which was air conditioned. The sun was blazing through the window and we unfortunately did not have a shade that we could pull down like there were at some of the other tables. We made the best of it. Our server was very friendly. He explained that he was working to meet people and to see what he could learn. By the end of the trip, he exchanged information with my son. The meal was surprisingly good. I was skeptical and thought that it might be bland because it was mass produced. Every dish was prepared well and had good flavor. Everyone in my party truly enjoyed their meals. The sights are tremendous. We saw a few dolphins while the boat was underway. The sunset was breathtaking. I definitely recommend this experience.

BUT, the 9 am cruise to Savannah is my friends and my favorite cruise. I wish it was every day of the week but I believe it is just 2 days a week. It is a great way to see the inter-coastal water ways, you have 4 hours to visit Savannah, get a great lunch and a pleasant ride back to HHI in time for dinner on the island. They also offer tickets on board for the Old Town trolley in Savannah if you prefer that to walking-we have all already done that at other times when we've road tripped to Savannah. But that is nice for visitors new to Savannah to see the sights and hear the history plus you can get on and get off at different places which is nice. I have also taken friends on the afternoon Dolphin cruise which they loved. The best time is on Saturday in the summer, I believe, since less busy with visitors leaving and arriving and they are not thinking about cruises. The captains really search for different pods of dolphins while engaging with their guests.

If you plan on visiting Daufuskie Island you gotta get there first!…read more It's easy to book your ferry online. However, arrive early for parking on sit. Otherwise, you will be sent to an alternate parking lot and shuttled in. There is a restroom on site (and on the ferry). Plan your luggage accordingly. Carry on, no charge. But there are fees for anything the staff touch. The ferry can quickly become a money pit if you do not plan and review their website. Tipping is welcomed. The staff are friendly, accommodating and polite. Unless you plan on chartering a private boat, have your own boat, this is the only way to get there. We had a great experience. It's a 35-45 minute ride so pack a road soda

Most importantly, this was a unique tour experience. You drive your own little two person speedboat and follow the tour guide, and these boats move much faster than I expected. Our tour was a little modified because some rain was coming through the area, but we still got to see dolphins. We were in a calm river and were right up close to them at one point. The guide knew right where to find them. I'd recommend checking this out for a fun few hours while visiting Hilton Head.

We had booked a private tour since it was originally supposed to be the entire family, but because of changes not everyone was in town yet. It ended up just being four of us on the small boat and it was worth it. Captain Todd was so knowledgable about the island, the dolphins and the tides. Our 4.5 yo is very curious and Captain Todd answered every questions like a pro! After she told him that she loved seashells he made a special excursion to shell island (I never even knew all those banks were shells and not sand!) and found her the most amazing shells to take home. We saw so many dolphins! The dolphin tour was equal parts exhilarating and relaxing and we were so happy it worked out even with the impending storm. Both my 4.5yo and 9mo loved the tour and neither were afraid at any point even though it was there first time on a speed boat. We will definitely be back!
