I am really happy that Escapology came here as now there is something new to do when you end up meeting people at the mall. Plenty of easy parking, lots of places to eat nearby, you can also do some shopping, see a movie or play some video games. With another local escape room place closing recently, this may be the best local option. Its got many escape rooms to choose from, at some point I might do them all. Prices are high, but look for groupons and week day deals. Rooms are private for your group. Easy to book online. On a busy Saturday morning with not a ton of advanced planned we were able to make reservations for Batman. My 10 and 12 year old nephews seemed to enjoy it, but they are becoming escape room experts. The 12 year old had already been here and done another room. The youngest is already planning the escape room he wants to do next. We escaped with 1 minute and 11 seconds to spare. My brother complained the rooms were small and we would have struggled to fit the additional 2 people we considered bringing. The hints were provided on a computer screen so we were able to keep them up until we solved what we were working on. We used a lot of clues. One part did seem to have the answer already showing by overuse, but this was a bonus for us. Not overly dark, like some escape rooms. I really like the decor here, lobby included. Nice to have multiple bathrooms and a water fountain with cups in case you want to bring some water in with you. The escape room door is available to open at will in case you need to run to the bathroom. No lockers, but a basket to put a few items in the room if you don't want to hold them.

I preface this review by sharing we are a team of escape room enthusiasts who have completed 50+…read moreescape rooms. We visited KryptoScape on a Saturday to try Aunt Millie's Millions with a team of 7 people. It is part of a larger building tucked behind the main road with ample parking. Upon arrival, we signed waivers. It's pretty common to have an option to sign waivers online prior to arriving, but it wasn't available for us at KryptoScape - so I highly recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your start time to complete this. You're given 60 minutes to complete the challenge - and we were told Aunt Millie's is the most challenging room they have to offer. From a story perspective, it provided a clear goal, with an immersive experience to achieve it. While the puzzle weren't particularly difficult, we enjoyed the variety that were offered. It wasn't just trying to solve a bunch of codes on a lock. They also had a good mix of tech embedded into the experience. It was also well designed for large(r) teams in the sense that you have feelings of diverging and converging. In other words, you don't feel like you split off as a team and never come together to solve something together OR everyone is trying to solve one thing at a time. It left our team feeling like we had a fun, enjoyable time. Often, the best escape experiences are met with hosts and game masters that are enthusiastic about their rooms. Our host Jared was great! Since we finished the room with plenty of time to spare, Jared was gracious enough to walk us through the whole thing once we completed it (as often in large groups, you aren't always aware how one activity might trigger another, so it's nice to hear how the whole room is supposed to unfold). He was clearly enthusiastic and willing to share, so that added to our positive experience. Lastly, I'm not sure how true this is - but there seemed to have been smells incorporated? Certain things smelled like how they were supposed to smell if real, and I'm not sure if the designers intentionally spray these items with a particular smell, or it was our minds playing tricks on us. Either way, it made our experience that much more memorable.

We got there, checked in and then the gal just walked us into a room, didn't really say much. Since none of us (party of 7) had been to an escape room before we didn't really know what to expect. I felt as though we were just dropped off and expected to figure it all out, which I mean, I get it. That's the whole idea but for people that haven't done these before it would've been nice to have a little more explanation in the beginning. considering I paid almost $400 for an hour event, I guess I just would've hoped it would've been a little bit more of a memorable experience. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back.

I came here for The Vault with a bunch of people from meetup. The Vault was sort of in beta, so there were things expectedly not quite working, and I won't fault the company for this. Overall, the puzzles were interesting/fun/dramatic to interact with, which is pretty great. That said... I don't love linear puzzle rooms, and this one was seriously that. We had 6? people for this room, but there was really only one puzzle available at a time (the one time there were two puzzles, the "meta" of them was brute-force-able, which means it wasn't even useful to do). I think you could count the number of puzzles total to be something like... 10 puzzles, which is a disappointing number especially with the number of people in the room. It makes me feel like they spent all their efforts into the fancy decor and flashy lights and ...story?, rather than puzzles. If you do come to do this escape room and you've done some before, I'd recommend a smaller number of people. It was generally obvious which puzzle was the one that needed doing; there was very little search-the-room so not much else for anyone else in the group while the single puzzle was being worked on. (And because the puzzles were so physically interactive, it wasn't really like multiple people could work on it at once.) Staff was friendly enough, though the front desk was usually absent. They do have a tiny photo booth closet which I think is fun! And they have a large parking lot shared with the fitness(?) next door so you don't have to worry about parking in downtown Redmond. I got tricked by the fitness and thought it wasn't there, but it is.

I have done all 4 Escape Rooms at the Escape Artist. Spell Struck was my first ever Escape Room…read more I have since done numerous others and Spellbound remains one of my top 2 favorites that I've experienced. The ambiance and atmosphere was top notch. The variety of and creativity of the puzzles and clues in this room were among the best. My friend and I, both escape room virgins, escaped 1 minute late! (ugh) Dive to Atlantis was my second favorite out of the rooms at this location. My cousins from out of town joined us. They had never done an escape room and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were able to solve all the clues and get out in time. There was one particularly difficult puzzle but nonetheless we made it with time to spare. The same friend I did Spell Struck with and I did 13th floor and finished with time to spare. I wasn't as impressed with this room compared to the others and we were stuck in the "elevator" on a single clue for a long time near the beginning. Luckily we sped through the second half like a breeze, which was very padlock heavy (I don't like that), and we may have used hints we didn't need because we thought we were running low on time. We weren't. My roommate and I did Lost in Space and we really like this room. I would say the theming and atmosphere felt a little cheesy for a Space Station, but the clues and riddles were stimulating and we had a very fun time overall. Escape Artist deserves a 5 star rating, if for just Spell Struck alone, but they have 4 unique experiences. Two of the rooms have actual motion which is awesome. None are like any of the others so there is great variety. If you are looking for a great escape room, keep them on your list!

These were the last of the current Escape Artist and Sure Lock escape rooms we had yet to play and they were 2 of our favorites! 13th Floor featured the full motion effects, Escape Artist uses in some of their rooms. The room was smaller than some but the story elements were incredibly cohesive and they packed a ton of really creative puzzles into the space. Neon Shadows might be my favorite escape room to date. It was really hard but so much fun. Lots of the puzzle mechanics in the room felt new or novel and it was all really well integrated with the central theme. A wealth of geek and 80s references were a delightful bonus! Big thank you to our game masters this weekend, Gavin and Will. You both made our experience so fun and engaging. We'll definitely be back whenever there are more rooms to play.
