I have this thing about lifting the hood to observe and listen to the engine running. I was in need of a car and decided to try Enterprise Car Sales after checking Hertz and a few dealerships and being put off by their customer service (or rather lack thereof). I personally don't know much about cars or have a strong preference for any specific type of vehicle so that worked well in my favor. Even though I wasn't very picky, I was ultimately able to purchase a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback with ~35K miles on it for under $16,000 with all taxes and fees included that turned out to be exactly what I wanted. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They will pretend they're your best friends until you purchase your vehicle. After that, you will be on your own. I purchase a car with Shareef, and I had the worst purchasing experience of my life. Shareef will lie to you without blushing. Whatever he says you should check. Our car did not have a lot of the accessories he told us, upon checking the car during the day, it had scrathes all over it and his answer was: Ÿou have a sharp eye". Instead of apologizing for being a filthy liar they will give you attitude. Let's remember I wasn't asking for a favor. They have a list of everything that was supposedly checked before putting the car up for sale and they do not follow through with their word. Besides being all scratched, we douls old parking tickets from over a year ago in the car, we found dirty baby wipes, the back seat had soda all over the cup holders, the veiling was loose and the rubber on the sides were under it (I'm pretty sure someone opened it), the rear camera keep glitching and giving us malfunction warnings, the oil was used up and this is just a start. I called the location the day after the purchase, gave them a list of everything, and they schedule for us to come back to have the car checked and cleaned. After two weeks of me calling them regularly, they couldn't care less about your messages, I was finally able to come in to have the car serviced, They asked us to be there at 10am, Around 1pm our car was "ready". Nothing had been done. They did exchange the oil, or maybe they just reseted it. At this point it's impossible to trust them. The car received a light wash on the outside and the interior was still filthy. The baby, wipes, soda, tickets were all still left in the same place they were before. Ohh also, We were giving the manual without the covers and Shareef assured me that when I returned he would have one for me. When asked, he played a fool and then finally gave me a fiat cover for my chevrolet. Overall it was just a terrible experience. Their managers, Dan and Danny also couldn't care less. They were playing games with from day one. Aways giving me excuses of why nothing was getting done, asking me to wait and they would email me a voucher to have my car cleaned and nothing. After about two months trying to solve this in a civilized matter, I decided that they don't deserve to be treated nicely. I've already reached out to my lawyer and we are going directly against the individuals involved in the car sale rather than the company itself. The people that lied to us are the ones to be held accountable and they will be. DO NOT trust these people!! I can not stress this enough. Where do I begin.... I initial visited the Enterprise at the Elmhurst location to sell my 2014 Jeep Compass. Upon arrival, my eyes were glued to a 2016 Audi Q3 they had for sale. Great deal. At least that is what I thought initially. When I went for a test drive, I told my then sales rep Arthur that I noticed the brakes weren't as good as they should be. He blamed it on the rain (it was in fact a rainy day). After a process that took about 7-8 hrs, I was exhausted and ready to go home. Now we are a couple days in and the brakes are still squealing. I called and spoke to Trisha who assured that this issue would be taken care of. Throughout the course of a few days, there were many phone calls between Enterprise and I when information was 100% misconstrued. On the day I had to drop the Audi off, I was told by one person to come at one time (on a work day) and then the next person said they were expecting me at a different time which equaled to my time being wasted once again. Now back to the faulty breaks. I took the car to a local mechanic which verified that both the break and and all windshield wipers should be replaced. He asked for me to call back at a certain time to verify that Enterprise would approve the repairs. Of course they denied it because of the "cost". They then wanted to to send the car to a mechanic in Jersey, never providing the information for the shop, for what they called a better deal. Finally the day comes when I have to drop off my new car to be taken to Jersey for a full weekend, I was offered a rental which I had to put a deposit in for but that's neither here or there. That same morning which was today, they were late once again which made me late for work AGAIN. I begin conversing with the manager Mohammed and the plan for the vehicle did not coincide with the extensive conversation I had with the assistant manager days before!!!! Now I'm sitting there late for work and confused about the process in which the car will be fixed. Even my character was insulted when the manager said statements were made to him about their thoughts of me not having enough money for the deposit of the rental!!!! Yes you read that correctly. This all happened within a 10 day time frame. I returned the Audi Q3. They can keep their car, faulty breaks and terrible customer service... Do yourself a favor and visit real dealers after you have shopped around for the car of your desire. This place is a waste of time and energy. read more

Additionally, you're not shopping from just the cars on the lot, but their entire inventory nationwide. I had over 8,000 cars to select from. As part of my purchase, the car was cleaned (reasonably well), Safelite repaired window chip (no cost to me), they offered a professional detail and polish for the paint (again, no cost to me). Also, they gave me the best value on my trade-in, no games. They asses value on cars using KBB instead of NADA. (KBB usually values higher, NADA values lower because it includes wholesale/auction prices) Fact: used car dealerships don't need to divulge where they get their cars from. oftentimes, small local used car dealerships buy from Enterprise and mark up the price on the cars. just buy direct so you don't have to play number games. read more

I've come back to edit this rating post-follow-up with this dealership. Our interaction with Sheryl (our Sales representative) was positive and the process of working with her was great. She's been super attentive, responsive and helpful in every way. She's always available by phone and works very diligently to act as a liaison between the Finance Department and the customer. After purchasing, we had discovered two minor issues with a vehicle - 1) the cigarette lighter ports did not charge/work and 2) the gear shift light didn't appear to be on so when parking at night you could only tell what gear you were in by looking at the dashboard. The second issues was totally user error - as both we and the dealership was unaware that it was a mere setting issue. That was remedied very quickly upon our follow-up visit. The cigarette charger ports was just a blown fuse that was fixed in no more than 25 minutes. Mohammed, the Finance Manager even treated us to lunch while we waited which was generous for the inconvenience. If I could leave one tip for improvement: I'd say that when purchasing your additional warranties - if they include LoJack, be sure to advise the purchaser that they do not come preinstalled and activated. We worked with Jennifer, a finance manager from a NJ location of Enterprise who took the time to review the warranty packages but never told us she made an appointment with LoJack on our behalf to have our system installed/activated. This resulted in us driving around for over two weeks without that protection unbeknownst to us and having to reschedule the appointment made on our behalf because it didn't align with our schedule. Other than that it does feel like the standards Enterprise lives by are fully upheld where their checks and balances are concerned both during and post-sale. We purchased our vehicle at Enterprise in May of 2018. We worked with JC who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about vehicles. It started off a bit rough as there were some issues with the banking/loan paperwork but we came back after we sorted it out ourselves. The actual process of purchasing the car JC made easy. My main reason for giving them 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is that after you purchase it is very difficult to get assistance from them. The car came with some slightly noticeable scratches and nicks on the body of the vehicle. Since we were hesitant about purchasing a new vehicle with scratches, we voiced this to the dealership, we were promised that they would order some sort of polish product (gratis) that would make them disappear. Almost three months later and we never received it nor did we get a phone call/update about it. About a week after we bought the car we started having electrical issues, I am very pleased that we purchased the extended warranty. We did end up paying a small amount even with the warranty (we called the dealership several times and they could not explain why we were paying this even though we purchased an extended warranty), but at least it was fixed and we did not have to pay the full price for the repairs. It is disturbing that we would have been out of over $1000 less than 2 weeks after we purchased if we did not purchase the extended warranty. I think I would recommend people to purchase cars through Enterprise and with JC because it really is a great deal compared to the typical dealership, and JC is really a nice guy-but I would also advise you to be mindful that if you need support after you leave you may not get it, I would also advise everyone to purchase the extended warranty. read more

It turns out the list of features on the website was a lie (for example it listed power lift gate and heated seats and the car has neither of these features). In addition they listed the car as an XLE model but it is an LE (without a leather steering wheel or moonroof). I had thought I was getting a great deal but ultimately was ripped off. My relationship with Enterprise Sales at Elmhurst began about a year ago with a phone call to the dealership inquiring about purchasing a new car. I had just had a terrible experience with another dealership and was a bit skeptical about continuing my search however I was referred to Enterprise by MCU and figured I'd give them a try. I was initially greeted by Love Pate who listened attentively to all of my concerns and answered every single question regarding the process. Love showed me a vehicle that had all of the features that I was looking for in a reasonable price range. Unfortunately I was not approved for the loan required to make the purchase. Although disappointed at the time; I was still satisfied with the fact that I had found a dealership that I honestly felt that I could trust. I vowed to work on my credit and return when I was in a better position to be approved. On my drive home I realized that I had left the title to my current vehicle. I called Love and told her that I would return the next day to pick it up. Well....life happened and I forgot about the title and never picked it up. This year I was finally approved for an auto loan with MCU and immediately called Love to inform her that I was interested in purchasing a car. I reminded her that I had left my title the year before and Love located it with no problem. She informed me that she would be off the following day so we planned to meet on her next day in the office; however I could contact her via her personal cellphone number if I needed to. I had received my pre-approval from MCU; however my down payment funds weren't due to be cleared in my account until the following day. I was allowed to place a part of my down payment to hold the sale for the following day! I returned the following day to complete my purchase and realized that my interest rate with MCU had actually decreased!!! Daniel explained every single detail of the sale to me. Everything from my trade-in to the MCU loan obligations were explained in great detail. So just want to update all in case they are thinking about trading in through any promotion. This place is unethical in my opinion. They say one thing and write something else. Since my last valuation, I addressed issues that supposedly made car in "poor" condition. I changed entire exhaust system, addressed all engine issues, and put on 4 new tires. These were issues that they referenced before as making it "poor". Now they say it is still "poor" condition, but offered me $750. They did highlight that they have a promotion giving Kelley blue book plus $750. Then he tried to explain to me that he was giving me a valuation of $1500. I wanted him to clarify so he said he was giving me $750 plus the $750 promotion. Very disingenuous since $750 promotion is on top of valuation. So basically, after new tires and new exhaust, he raised his value from $50 to $750 which is less than tires and exhaust cost. He then gave me a speech about how this is a billion dollar company and that he couldn't do anything. This after he was explaining to me what he did for me (which was nothing) but also saying to tell him what I want and he will see if it can be done. Either he has no choice, or he does have a choice. I said to just make me a fair offer. He would not, but wanted to tell me yes or no like a negotiation. So so so unethical. All I want is Kelley blue book plus $750 like the promotion. Or even something close. For a haggle free negotiation, they either screw you or make you haggle for trade ins. Not worth the frustration. Prices on used cars are not great either, but at least you know what you are getting. Still would buy if no trade in as Kelly and Love are awesome, but if you want to trade in, you will get better number from junkyard. By the way, this was my previous post that is not shown:. So I was asked to contact them to discuss. They tell you to respond, but everytime you respond, you get an error saying that your email is not associated with the complaint. Hard to address issue when they want you to jump through hoops to contact them and just get error after error. When I was buying car, they made me fill out a thousand forms, all of which had my contact info. In and out in 1 hour - as good as it gets! The whole staff was helpful and friendly, I saw the car I wanted on-line, and spotted it the minute I walked in the lot. My service rep, Pedro, immediately printed me a CarFax and then gave me the keys for a test drive. Amazing is not the word for the service and help I received here at Enterprise, it was unbelievable! I got my first car from Pedro who went above and beyond. He did not sell me anything he worked with me and schooled me on cars. I received a used Kia Optima 2013 with very low mileage at a great price and I'm super happy!!
