We told him we had heard some reviews accusing Drive Time of selling lemons, and asked if the car we were looking at had any issues. He gave a curt "no" and kept typing. The terms they offered were VASTLY different from what I was quoted online (and they did a credit check online.) He seemed bored and utterly uninterested in whether or not I bought a car at all. I ended up just leaving, and found a great deal on Carvana instead. Very disappointed in their service.

We were looking for a particular vehicle and were told that other dealerships did not have what we were looking for in stock. That turned out not to be the case. We did our own research and found what we wanted elsewhere. We were also told that they simply could not give us a larger discount on the vehicle. We decided not to settle and walked away--and I'm very glad we did. We ultimately purchased our vehicle from Limbaugh Toyota, where we received almost 6 grand off a BETTER, more fully equipped vehicle. The difference in both the deal, and the overall experience was significant. I understand that every dealership has its own pricing and that every deal is different. However, if a dealership cannot or does not want to offer a larger discount, simply say, "This is the best deal we are willing to offer." Don't tell customers that other dealerships don't have the vehicle they're looking for or give them the impression that they have no better options. My advice to anyone shopping for a vehicle: do your own research. Check other dealerships' inventories yourself, compare prices, negotiate, and most importantly, be willing to walk away. We walked away, went to Limbaugh Toyota the very next day, and ended up with a better-equipped vehicle at a significantly better price! We spent less time negotiating at Limbaugh Toyota than we did at Hoover Toyota.

I recently bought a used GMC Sierra from this dealership. As part of the purchase agreement Southtown agreed to correct this issue. For the better part of a month, the vehicle bounced from mechanic to mechanic. It was eventually serviced to spec by a GMC dealership. Although I wish it had been taken to a dealer's service department to begin with, the truck was eventually sorted out. This issue incurred great expense, which Southtown reimbursed me for. They also sent me a check for the prorated amount of the time I was without the vehicle. From my experience, I can't recommend buying a vehicle with a known fault. There's too many electronic systems on modern vehicles that are both sensitive and expensive. I can tell you that if circumstances arise (that are beyond the control of the seller) that Southtown Motors will do what's in their power to make things right.

The front suspension/control arm broke, resulting in the tire/wheel coming off. This wasn't an issue that developed after months or years of ownership. This happened roughly two weeks after purchasing the truck from this dealership. When you purchase a vehicle from a dealership, you expect that, at minimum, the vehicle has been properly inspected and is safe to drive off the lot. Having a major suspension component fail this soon after purchase raises serious concerns for us about the condition of the truck at the time it was sold and what type of inspection was performed before it was offered for sale. Thankfully, this situation did not result in a serious accident or injury, because it certainly had the potential to. I understand that used vehicles can have issues and no dealership can predict every future repair. However, a significant safety-related failure within two weeks of purchase is not something I would expect after buying from a dealership. They refused to correct the issue.

We glanced around the lot to see what else they had and inquired about a couple other cars they had. Surprised to find that one was actually $15k (all under $10k?). Anyway, they also had some cars out on the other side of the building, discovered quickly most of those had been in some form of accident from minor to extreme. Staff was friendly and looked to see if they had anything else that would interest us and encouraged us to check back, as they update their website regularly. I'd consider checking them out if they had something specific we wanted, but probably wouldn't make a special trip here to shop.
