The Day You Rent Away I almost can't believe I'm writing a five-star review for a car rental place, and yet here I am. We did technically have our rental thru Alamo® but there was no one at their desk (it was Christmas day), so we were sent here to their sister company at Enterprise® to complete the transaction. The Good: *Booked thru Costco for an eight-day rental for a small SUV for less than $100/day--including taxes and fees. *The lady working the desk, Yvonne, was outstanding; friendly, fast, efficient, and didn't go too hard on the insurance upsell. *Once we were done, we were sent to the lot where a friendly gentleman named Miguel *ACTUALLY WALKED US TO OUR CAR*!! Lord, in heaven, I got a case of the vapors and thought I was going to pass out. These places usually just turn you loose in a sea of vehicles and say, "Good luck and don't let the door hit ya where the dog should've bit ya." I'm looking at you, Baltimore... =T The Meh: *They didn't have any small SUVs left (I felt that Seinfeld bit about taking but not keeping the reservation creep into my head), but fortunately, Miguel hooked us up with a Toyota® RAV4™ upgrade for free. The Ugly: *The car exterior was a bit dirty, and a few of the windows were downright filthy. I'm not sure if this car had just been returned and they hadn't had time to clean it yet or what? This is now two bad experiences at this site. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to Enterprise. In June, when I came to drop my son off for his internship, my account somehow got mixed up with that of a friend I travelled with a year ago (?!). Today, they would not accept my debit card, though I have used it for years with Enterprise, and I had called the number on my reservation and was told it would be fine. The last straw was when the guy suggested that I was lying about calling Enterprise yesterday. I have the receipt from the woman I talked to to prove it. read more

They didn't have my vehicle till the day after my reservation. I was given an older model Toyota Tacoma that had mechanical issues, including new AC and most windows did not operate. I called the enterprise 800 number they said they notified enterprise I'd be exchanging the vehicle. When I went to exchange a vehicle, they said they had no availability all our vehicles in my class, a truck, are reserved already. I had to leave in the same rental vehicle I arrived to exchange. They made me feel ashamed of asking so much as a proper running vehicle with air conditioning. I will no longer do Buisness with enterprise. read more

Update: After posting this review, Enterprise promptly reached out and resolved the issue. They processed my refund/reimbursement quickly and handled everything in a professional and courteous manner. I am satisfied with the resolution and truly appreciate the way they took care of the situation once it was brought to their attention. I am giving a 5-star review for the customer service I received during the follow-up and resolution process--not for the local location's initial response. This one issue will not stop me from using Enterprise again in the future, as my past experiences have always been positive, and I don't want a single negative situation to outweigh years of good ones. read more

the absolute worst experience i have ever had with any business. i had to use my personal bank card to rent a car. due to my cooperate card being declined. was assured that i would have a invoice emailed to me right then, so i could get reimbursed the money from my company. well they didnt give me a receipt/invoice for the $757.83 that they already took from my account. i call customer service and they flat out refuse to give me a receipt/invoice, refuse to transfer me to a manager refuse to make any attempt to help me get reimbursed. how is it that you can take $757.83 from a persons account and not give them a receipt/invoice. you have the money so give me a invoice. no a rental agreement is not a receipt or an invoice. it is a rental agreement. between the counter people not sending a receipt/invoice like they said they would. to the customer service people refusing to issue a receipt/invoice, refusing to let me speak to a manager even. i will not being doing business with a company like this anymore. so now i will be bringing your vehicle back, and you will issue a refund. and i will take my business elsewhere from here on out. how can any company think its even slightly ok to take money out of someones bank account. then flat out refuse to give them a receipt or invoice for the money you took. i have never disliked a company as much as i dislike this piss poor ran company. read more

We waited in vain at the counter before someone went back into the lot and then told us we had to go back to there. The person who worked at the counter was supposed to leave a sign out. but didn't. That was annoying and a ten minute waste of time. They were great though and let me choose an upgrade. The Volvo SUV I took was way better than any other car I've ever rented and a joy to drive. Truthfully they were really fast at the counter back in the lot, so the experience overall was excellent and I will use Enterprise again. read more

Shuttle service here was dicey on Christmas Day - we were the last two on the shuttle, and we had quite a line behind us. Shuttle service to the airport was quicker & had more room in the shuttle on New Year's Day. We had great service at the counter when we landed a week ago, and great service today at the return aisle outside The price was the best of all rental facilities, and the staff members were helpful, friendly & efficient. The lobby area was clean & well lit. It was warm inside & lots of places to sit comfortably. Direction signs were easy to follow. I rented from Alamo and was subjected to the horrible customer service at Enterprise. No one was at the Alamo counter, so they sent me to Enterprise. Absolute disaster. Totally different policies than quoted by telephone customer service agents. Staff are poorly trained and aren't allowed to make any decisions. Manager was like talking to a 10th-grader. We were in vacation and decided to rent a car. The waiting area was nice and clean with plenty of space for my family. The bathrooms were clean. We checked in and it took about 15 minutes to get our car ready. The staff here is very professional and friendly. They gave us a little hero in great condition. Make sure you check which forms of payment are accepted. This location DOES NOT accept debit cards unless you have a return flight ticket. I had to use this location because no other Enterprise had the vehicle size I needed. I used the App to set up my reservation. The App did not warn me about the types of payment accepted. You have to search for it in the "tips" section. Also they do not accept contactless payments. I have an Apple Credit Card but they only have a magnetic strip. No Apple Pay (please get with the times). Luckily my dad was able to put it on his card. Got to the lot and they just gave the last similar car away. What's the point of a reservation? This was the only car rental company in Alburqurque with a line. Book Avis or Hertz or even Budget if you want to avoid standing here for an hour after you arrive. While Budget had three clerks, Enterprise had only a single person helping people. They will ruin your vacation by refusing to properly staff their locations. It's a smaller location but they offer quick drop off and provide shuttles back to the airport. It's centralized so all the rental car companies are located at one location. My only complaint is because it's a smaller airport location they charge a very high fee for one way drop off. Over $350. read more

Wonderful experience and customer service at Enterprise Rent-A-Car! We decided to rent a car for our trip in New Mexico, as we wanted to visit multiple cities and do some hiking. My boyfriend made an online reservation through Enterprise weeks before our trip. When we checked in, the employee who helped us went over all of the details with us, including the pricing for gas and any extra features and such that we may want/add on. After checking in at the desk, you then go outside to the car port where another employee helps you get your car, and they upgraded us from a sedan to a compact SUV for free, which was a nice surprise! Yet when they were going over pricing, it was more than we expected from the online prices quoted. So the employee gave my boyfriend his business card and told him that when we return the car to show the card and the pricing will be fixed. When we returned the car my boyfriend did just that, by showing the business card that the manager gave us and the employee not only fixed the pricing, but gave us another discount for our "trouble", which was even better. Even though we used the car for three days, we only had to pay for the rental car for one day! The customer service here can't be matched. It's obvious that the staff here wants to ensure that all customers have a pleasant experience using Enterprise cars. I would definitely recommend Enterprise in Albuquerque if you need to rent a car in the area. read more

After lots of traveling, lots of waiting in lines, and a few occasions of narrowly making my flights...I decided cost wasn't everything. I started looking at reviews on Yelp. (I know I sound like a schill for Yelp, and probably am, but hear me out!) I was tired of anemic shuttles and endless lines. Note that different brands have a lot of variation from airport-to-airport! Having said all that, I've had my most positive experiences with Enterprise. They are usually slightly spendier than other brands, but, in my experience, they are absolutely worth it! Efficient processes, friendly staff, quick returns, and cush, cool, and quick airport shuttles. This location was no different. I was about to get into a car in less than 30 minutes, a world-record for rental car agencies! Only downside is that I reserved a Toyota and got a Chevy, guess you can't have it all! read more

An efficient location with friendly service and clean, reliable vehicles. We arrived late on a Friday night and found no wait at the counter inside of the rental car facility. The gentleman at the counter asked for the name on our reservation, driver's license, and credit card. It was only a moment before he directed us to meet the next representative in the parking lot. As soon as we exited doors I heard a friendly representative greet me with Ms. Last Name. He offered to help with my luggage and directed us to our car. We did a quick walk around and a couple of signatures before hitting the road. The car as is typical with Enterprise at airport locations was clean, full of gas, in good condition, and had low mileage. Friendly customer service, easy access, fair prices. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade from our reserved car to a fancier one for not much extra money. This sounded like a good idea, but the car itself was a low-slung sporty coupe that was really hard to get into and out of. We should've rejected it, but thought we'd get used to it. Car was fine, service seemed great. Filled the car up 5 minutes prior to return. Asked the nice lady if she would send me a receipt. Indeed she would. Sent me a receipt that I was able to look at the following day when submitting for reimbursement. They added on an extra $70+ charge for gas, for an already full tank. Luckily I had taken a picture of the receipt from the gas I had purchased five minutes before returning, and Enterprise refunded me the money. So beware! Take pictures of your receipts. Said they would call me back that day to confirm...well no call back. So I called the day of picking up the vehicle and NO vehicle. This is horrible customer service and unacceptable to call 2 days prior to the trip to explain. Why didn't they call at least 1 week prior to allow time to find another vehicle with another rental company. Will never do business with Enterprise again!!!! read more

The counter clerck handled us very quickly and we were met halfway to the rental lot be an agent that handled the final details ans car selection. Fifteen minutes and we were on the road. Be sure to get gas before you try to get to the airport. I assumed I would see a gas station near the airport, but I ended up driving 8 mins away to fuel up. As soon as I got back to the airport, it was easy to navigate to the rental car area. It reminded me of the one in Vegas since its consolidated into one area. As soon as you drive into the Enterprise side, they tell you to leave the keys on the dash and they printed me a receipt. DONE! Now I can go get on the shuttle to get to the airport. I was so happy to see how fast and easy it was. I was thinking I had to go inside and check in. Nope ! They made it easy. He was courteous and interested in my experience with Enterprise. I travel on average 300 days a year, keeping a rental car constantly; so I know how to rent a car. My experience last week at this location was the worst of my career. They literally looked me in the face and told me loyalty levels don't result in free upgrades when that's exactly how loyalty levels work, they tried to get me to use points instead. The age of COVID has brought out the worst in customer service, customers are mistreated and the blame is put on the disease, when the problem is actually the company representative in front of you. I have used Enterprise before but never the Airport location. I needed a rental quickly as an expected death in my family required the presence of my parents in Austin, TX for the funeral and all the other things that needed to be taken care of before hand. I made my reservation online which was simple enough. The airport center location was ideal for me as they do not at 6:30 pm on Sundays as most locations do. I think some aren't even open on Sundays. Upon arrival in the morning there was a short wait in line as the customer at the counter seemed to have a lot of questions. Maybe they didn't make a reservation? I became a bit worried as I did have a schedule to maintain and I didn't want to be at the counter long. Surprisingly, upon my turn, it was very quick and easy. He found my reservation, asked me a few other questions and I was out the door to pick up my car. I was sent out back to pick up what I thought was the Jeep Renegade as that is what I picked online, but I didn't see one about. The gentlemen who came to assist me informed me that I would be receiving a free upgrade to either the Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Chevy Equinox. Fun! Okay!I didn't know what I wanted and he allowed me to look at and also sit in both vehicles. I went with the Jeep. I was a bit worried about the gas mileage/usage but it was a great vehicle. Very comfortable for the 11 hour drive and it did great on on gas. They return was painless too. I got back into town late, so I don't think i made it back to return the car until after 9 pm. There were clear signs directing me on where to go and someone came to greet me shortly after parking. Check out was a breeze. I enjoyed my experience and would have given 5 stars had it not been for one thing I thought they could do better on in the future. Although I did enjoy the car I didn't really know how to use all the features. I figured it out fairly quickly. But a small little tutorial or even asking if I was familiar with the new features may have been nice. Maybe I am a bit oldschool because my car still has an actual key that you put into the ignition! Other than that, thanks Enterprise at the Airport Rental Car Center! All rental agencies are located 5-minutes off-airport, accessible by a common shuttle bus. While the Enterprise check-in experience isn't as streamlined as Hertz Gold, this airport had it down cold. Easy and quick check-in at at the desk, followed by a walk-around with an agent in the parking lot. They did a good job getting me out of the lot in a reasonable amount of time. Our Ford Focus drove flawlessly. Great little car at a great weekly rate out of Albuquerque. Only had to wait behind one other renter on the return and he did a yeoman's job in getting me cycled out quickly. read more

CAN A MANAGER AT THIS SITE PLEASE CALL ME BACK! I am very conflicted as I write this review. I travel to this location frequently and always try to rent here. Most of the time they do not have any cars unless I can schedule about two weeks out. I understand that and appreciate the service I typically get. Right now my struggle is that I have been trying to resolve an issue of my wallet being left in the car and not being able to speak to a human being at the location. I have been going around in circles since Tuesday morning and have officially confirmed they did not locate my wallet which was under the driver seat and should have been found with just a basic cleaning and the car was sent back out to another renter in less than 12 hours from my return even though I reported a mechanical issue. I was told by the corporations escalation department that the site can try to contact the current renter, but nobody from the site will call me back. The current renter is scheduled to have the car for a month! As you can imagine this is very stressful since it is my wallet and not just a simple pair of sunglasses. I also realize they are not responsible for lost items, but as someone who works in customer service I find this entire process has been an extra layers of frustration that are unnecessary. I prefer to only leave positive reviews and my goal here is just to get a manager from this site to contact me. There are 5 different managers cards on the desk and someone for their lost and found there so someone should be able to help! I will gladly change the stars once I can get someone's attention!
