I went there yesterday sign says 7:30 opening it was about 7:45 close to 8 door was locked and nobody picked up the phone. Me and another gentleman sat outside for a few minutes but decided to just pull off. I give a one star solely for that reason. If advance pay you and give you a key to open the building on time then that's what you should do . You pretty much got an easy job look up parts and go fetch them for customers. Went in to buy headlight bulb .. the associate gave me the wrong bulb. After fiddling with it for ten minutes in the parking lot. figured it was wrong bulb. Went back in store to have them give me the right bulb. They did this time. But wouldn't take the 20 dollar bulb back that they incorrectly gave me. Pretty shady business practice. I don't think my beloved "Roadbeast" would ever see the road again if it weren't for Advanced Auto Parts. Let's face it, when you drive a classic 1989 LTD Crown Vic, a veritable national treasure, you need a good team in your pit crew, and Advanced Auto Parts has my back. On my most recent visit, the Advanced Auto Guys managed to get my water pump shipped from Roanoke overnight. So, at 7:30 A.M., I found automotive nirvana waiting for me at the crack of dawn. (cue the sound of angels singing). Now, I'd like to say that this was all I needed, but unfortunately, I was back later that day for something called a fan belt clutch; it seems that my mechanic wants to fix it everything. Well, no worries, Advanced Auto had my part, and I am sure that I will soon be well on my way to driving a ride that is Better, Faster, Stronger. Another feature about this spot that I like very much is that they can preform minor repairs as well. Things such as changing batteries, lights, and wipers makes for a trouble free day and one less trip to my mechanic. I really hate the system they use for getting parts that aren't on the shelf. Namely, they make you wait in line for only TWO cashiers, who will most likely spend about 5 - 7 minutes with some dude who probably doesn't know the difference between a dip stick and lip stick, which then makes your knees hurt from standing there and your head hot from the frustration of listening to a moron trying to sound like he knows what he's talking about. Breeeeeeaaaathe. But then, when you are able to actually interact with their employees, it's a fantastic experience. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and they really don't mind going out to the parking lot and helping you figure out why the low beam bulb you just bought is not screwing in cleanly. I went to this location today to exchange a battery that was completely dead while still under warranty. I've never received so much mansplaining even though I am quite knowledgeable about cars. Worst of all the employee at this location tried to tell me that if I hadn't driven my car at least twice a week the warranty was no good. I asked him to show me where that is written and he said it's not actually in writing. I left with my battery and went elsewhere. I will never return to this location again. read more

I came here to purchase headlight for my vehicle. When I was looking for the bulbs I wanted, I noticed that there was a tear pad that said "In Stock." I tore one of the papers off and took it to the counter where the gentleman told me they were out of stock and that they only had the single bulbs, not the double pack that I wanted. Out of pure curiosity to see if they would take care of their guest, I asked the man if he would sell me two singles for the price of the double pack. (Keep in mind, it's only a $4 difference) the man behind the counter chuckles and says "nope!" I giggled back at him and walked out of the store. I ended up going to Auto Zone which is just a little further south on Route 1 and they had exactly what I needed and were extremely friendly. Not sure how this store survives with limited product availability, messy merchandising and such poor customer service. Good luck to them! read more
