I had a great experience at this Enterprise! It has been years ago, probably 8 years ago, when I used this Enterprise for car rental on my last TDY trip to Columbus, GA. My personal car was a Sonata, and I'm sure my corporate travel agent booked me a similar mid-sized car, probably a Corolla or a Malibu. Pricing was aligned with my per diem, and this location is maybe 5 miles from my house. Hubs dropped me off, the vehicle was all set and ready to go with zero waiting, and off I went! I had no problems with the car, and the return process was easy and friendly. I would like to sing my praises to the worker that had to deal with what she dealt with today. I walked in and I see two men yelling at her upset that they can't use a debit card to rent. Keep in mind she is the only person working at this time. One of the men had a weapon in his pocket. She call her boss to let him explain it to the two men. At the end of the conversation, they threw her phone at her and cursed her out severely on the way out. She kept her composure and a great deal of professionalism. We have always been treated very well by Athens Enterprise Rent-A-Car. It is true things work much smoother if you verify through their office that the car you want is available at that location because the 1-800 number doesn't realize the drive it is to go to the airport or another location to get a vehicle when there isn't one in Athens. The Athens office has always tried to meet our needs as best they could and made the rental process a smooth one, working seamlessly with our insurance when applicable. if I could leave no stars I would. worst customer experience I've ever had in my life and I have work in customer service most of my life. we have been threatened multiple times and then was told to return my car at 5pm on Saturday and when we arrived 10 minutes till our drop off time found out they were closed but they didn't arrange a drop off location. so after multiple calls to customer service and instead of leaving the car unlocked with the keys in it we inconvenienced our self and said we would leave the car on the lot locked and would return the keys on Monday. well Monday we had appointments that were scheduled months in advanced and could not change on Saturday we showed up as soon as we could to be told we were being charged for the days. we have been nothing but reaspectful and even brought the car back detailed and quarter tank over what it was supposed to be to be threatened again. even watched him spray it off and pulled back on the lot. so clearly the car is perfect and no reason to be treated this way. read more

I have used this Enterprise location for over a decade. I have always been satisfied. Eddie and his team have been quick to address any concern we may of had. I have had the occasional experience where they did not have the car I booked online but they always upgraded my rental to something better with no up charge. I cannot say the same thing for other locations unfortunately. Hated to have to go to the Decatur location when the Athens location was closed, if they did not have the car they would only upgrade with an upgrade charge. This would mean a smaller vehicle to avoid the upgrade, I have not had that experience in Athens thankfully. Cars always in good condition and clean. read more

Facility address listed as 22980 Us Hwy 72 Athens AL 35613. I attempted to rent a car here. I made a reservation online and have a confirmation number. The facility employee told me that there are no cars, but will call. They never called back. I attempted to phone the next day, and no one ever answers the phone. I called another local Enterprise outlet, and the employee said they would contact this facility and I would get a call back. Never did. Have decided to tough it out without a rental instead of continuing to waste my time attempting to rent through Enterprise Athens. Incredibly disappointed. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Reserved a car online, got a confirmation number. Went to pick up the car for a business trip in the morning and there were no cars! Counter guy says you need to call to confirm your reservation. I've rented cars for years all over the country and never had to call to confirm. The last car I rented was dirty. I don't usually complain but I'm done with enterprise. This is a low-rent, unprofessional, poorly run business that doesn't deserve my patronage. read more

Enterprise is always my first choice when it comes to renting vehicles. Customer Service is always top notch. I was just not that please with the car that was provided, we had a backlight out, needed a oil change and the car had the worst interior smell. read more
