Bait and Switch Alert! This enterprise branch is the king of the baiting and switching the car you reserve for lesser priced vehicles in their lot . Once again I arranged for an elite SUV for a wedding trip only to be put in a car which was so uncomfortable because of the height room for anyone over 6". What is frustrating is that you make the reservation based on the vehicles offered at the location. You confirm the reservation and add the credit card in ADVANCE so that they confirm you will pick up in 24 hours. You arrive ON TIME for your reservation and get told not only do they not have your vehicle but we will take only 20 dollars off TOTAL for the much less expensive vehicle we have to take or risk paying double at one of the other rentals in the airport due to same day reservations . As they know they have you over a barrel because most people travel on a timed schedule. Only to go out to the parking lot and have to fully sanitize the vehicle offered because it smells like someone was in there heavily smoking in the vehicle. But at least you were lucky to have a vehicle because the young lady standing next to you can't even get her vehicle because the one minivan they had in stock was given to someone else. Their response was take this midsize SUV and make do. Even though when she spoke to them an hour before, they said the vehicle was ready for pick up. How a vehicle reserved for 7-8 is supposed to fit in an SUV that holds 5 supposed to "make do". Of course no one in the area has the vehicle she requested right from another enterprise or one of the sister businesses in the area at the time of day. Keep in mind, this reservation was not on a holiday weekend or a high travel weekend. We were attending a wedding and wanted the SUV in case the weather was wet or icy since the weather had been fluctuating in Ohio for a few weeks including snow. We have used Enterprise in Columbia SC for family trips to Florida x 4 over the last year, the same account and during busier travel dates to go to Orlando and every single time not only do we get our vehicles on time, but the transaction is worry free and quick. They meet you in the lot and review that you are satisfied with your vehicle before completing the transaction. We now have contingency plans that when we travel north in the future to use the Carolina branch instead even though we would have to pay to park in the airport lot, I am too old for the stress and hassle. My fiancé found out he won Day 1 practice round lottery tickets for the Masters in July 2023. We immediately made a reservation for an Enterprise rental car once we confirmed our travel plans since the Masters is a huge event. We only wanted the rental car for half a day, to drive from Augusta to Savannah on Tuesday 4/9, picking up in downtown Augusta; dropping off in downtown Savannah. We made our reservations through the travel site July 28th 2023 and we were all set. Fast forward to the Thursday leading up to our pick-up date. Enterprise calls and leaves a voicemail and says that they can't honor our reservation. After a very heated conversation, we made some adjustments to our reservation and switched it to picking it up from the Augusta Airport on Saturday afternoon and dropping it off in downtown Savannah Tuesday afternoon. When my fiancé picked up the car, the car was filthy - boogers on the steering wheel, reeked of cigarette smoke (though a nonsmoking car), and they didn't bother to window wash the front windshield. Despite completing the paperwork online ahead of time, he still had to wait in line and repeat the same paperwork in the office. The drama with our rental car continues. On Sunday night, we got a flat tire. We noticed a sound on as we were driving back to our airb&b and once we parked, we saw we had a flat - a giant screw stuck in the rear tire and it was losing air quickly. We called the Augusta airport enterprise office. The first time we got through, the person hung up. Then I kept on going through an automated loop before I finally got through to someone. The manager Hampton told us they had no cars available for us at that time, there was no emergency assistance available, and that the earliest we'd likely be able to get a car is Monday afternoon/evening once people start returning cars. He couldn't save one of the cars returned Sunday night for us to get Monday AM - he doesn't work in the mornings and one of his colleagues may give the keys away. How is there no way to set aside the keys or lock them up? Completely unacceptable response... Also what's the point of having 'emergency service' if you literally did nothing to help our situation? Luckily we were able to change out the tire for the donut and we drove the Masters Monday morning on the donut. When we left the Masters around 5 pm, we called Enterprise to confirm we were on our way to swap out our car since we obviously couldn't drive all the way to Savannah on a donut. Hampton said they still didn't have any cars available and maybe after 7 pm or so they'd have one for us. Extremely frustrated by this, we decided to take matters into our own hands and drove to the downtown Enterprise location. The manager Lake there immediately helped us out and swapped out our car for a different one on the lot. That car didn't stink of smoke and had two additional Clorox wipes on the console if we needed to wipe it down further. Given the terrible customer service we experienced multiple times with this simple rental transaction, we will never be using Enterprise again. National is a hundred times better. read more

I rented a car on 30 Jan with a return date of 31 Jan after my flight was canceled and moved to the next day. Enterprise gave me the worst car I have seen at an enterprise ever (Mitsubishi Mirage), newer but built like it was meant for the early 2000s. Not a huge deal and not the reason for one star just wanted to note it. The reason for one star is now, the night of Feb 4th, five full days later, I still do not have a receipt for my rental, and it still hasn't been checked back into the system at the site according to the 855 enterprise number. I dropped the keys off in their box around 6 am on the 31st before they opened, so this has been enough time for them to check the car back in. I was told it wouldn't be an issue to drop it off during off hours and get the receipt the same day they had enough time, but that was a lie. Even with corporate sending them a message through their "system" yesterday, it still has not been checked back in, and I still do not have a receipt for my rental. (RAC:959646538) This is the worst experience with an enterprise I have experienced, and I will not be using them at Augusta Airport again. The Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty have far been way better experienced. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car's Augusta Regional Airport location saved face for a company that has continually let me down as of recent. My local branch provided me with a car that was much older than should have been rented and early in the trip started making some pretty unsavory sounds. By the time I was driving through the Augusta area, the noises the car was making were so bad that I started calling local offices to see if they could swap out my car but the majority of them could not accommodate me. Not only was the customer service rep that answered the phone at this location helpful and readily available, she make the transfer process painless and simple. This was my first experience at this Enterprise in Augusta, Georgia. The staff was very pleasant and the area was clean. My rental took over 40 minutes to get and after a long flight my family was getting irritable very quickly. I should also say I made a reservation 2 weeks in advanced and was confirmed, so I was not expecting this long delay. Oddly enough they were performing different security checks and my credit card (travel CC) apparently did not pass these checks so I had to use a different credit card which was another inconvenience. They did however cover my gas as a consolation, which wasn't much because I wasn't going far but was a nice gesture. They should probably have their security checks in line before applying them and having their customers wait. I almost walked over to the next booth at AVIS to see if they had a car ready. read more

I traveled to Augusta without a major credit card., I was told that couldn't rent the vehicle without the card. While very polite he led me to another company that could assist. Two minutes later the sales agent came and said he could take my payment. No one walked me out to view the vehicle. Overall the car drove but the service was mediocre. read more

I've been here in Augusta since July for an Army school, and I have had a car from Enterprise this entire time Needless to say, I've been very pleased with my experience with these guys. Even after I had a rather unfortunate incident with a high curb in downtown Augusta, the Enterprise office at the regional airport offered to replace my car and take care of the behind-the-scenes insurance stuff. Both cars I have had long-term with Enterprise were in very good condition, understanding that expecting a perfectly conditioned car would be unrealistic. Enterprise prides itself on customer service and the "Enterprise Way", however, my recent experience was more of "Go Away". My work authorized a midsize/intermediate car (hyundai elantra or similar) for myself and two coworkers for four days. What I received was a small hatchback ford focus that was dirty w/ heavily stained upholstery. Airport was unable to change the vehicle and instead tried to get me to upgrade to an SUV. We ended up driving around Augusta to three additional locations (Ft.Gordon, Gordon Hwy, and Bobby Jones) and nobody seemed able to assist. We just kept getting flicked like a booger to another location with the same line: "we only have smaller or bigger cars. Don't have any intermediate cars to trade". So we waited another day and went back to the airport in hopes of assistance. Different agent, different day and we were shot down again. There are so many ways Enterprise could have kept my business, but all four locations failed and pushed me away. I eventually took my business to Thrifty/Dollar and asked if they had any midsize vehicles. They did, and were able to price match Enterprise, and give me a free upgrade. read more

Used Enterprise as a back up to my Hertz Gold as they were out of SUVs for The Masters. I did have a reservation ahead of arrival. It took about 45 minutes to get the car squared away even though i had a reservation. They were polite, but not organized. The return was quick and painless. read more

I was happy with how easy it was to reserve the car online and I love that there was no penalty to cancel it. The lady at the desk wasn't very friendly but also not rude. The car was about $30 cheaper than I expected. I rented a car for 12 days and only paid $302! Unlimited miles and a GREAT car. That made me VERY happy! I always use Enterprise wherever I travel. This trip to Augusta was the first time I got a bad car. Well, the car was great but the front seats were filthy and the car wreaked of smoke and deodorizer. I wish I would have read the previous reviews before renting from this location. The inside was not clean and had stains all over the seats. It was the only car they had left . The lot is not secure and no one to check out upon leaving. I rented when it was dark and did my best to check out the car. I drove the car to charleston were they alerted me to minor damage. Damage was already on car since only drove for 3 hours. Do not rent from this location ...very shady and now they stuck me with a 800 bill for a gross car. I rented a car online from the Gordon Hwy location. I flew into the Augusta airport then promptly called the number to be picked up. The lady stated they didn't do that. I thought this was odd since that is what it stated to do on the website. Even the television commercials advertise this. She stated that there was an Enterprise at the airport and would transfer my reservation there. The person there was very helpful, and the car was clean. My complaint is that the bill was higher due to all the airport fees. I had the car for about five hours and returned it with a full tank of gas which cost $1.56. If I would have know the addition fees at the time of rental, I probably would have just taken a cab. read more
