I normally rent cars from AVIS and I never had any issue. Couple of weeks ago I rented from Enterprise only because they have a store close to my house and I thought to give it a try. I had a very bad experience and still taking my time without any resolution. I rented a car for 5 days and returned the car on-time. After reviewing my credit card I noticed they have charged me for 8 days. They charged me close to 200 Dollars extra for the three days that I did not have the car. I went to their office where I picked up the car and they told me they would give me a refund for the extra three days. The refund did not happen and when I called them again today they completely denied the refund. Renting a car should not be so painful and I do not recommend Enterprise to anyone who wants a smooth car rental experience. BTW, when you google Enterprise to find a number to contact them there are many scammers that they introduce themselves as Enterprise but they only want to take money out you. Looks like Enterprise does not care about these scammers operating under their name. read more

Enterprise Downtown Austin East was the worse experience we've ever had with any rental company-the person with whom we the issue name Lee believe was Alyssa -but not certain. She was out of uniform no identifiers, except for a nose ring and tattoos arms. We reserved vehicle 1 plus weeks in advance and confirmed reservation the day before. Took an Uber to location waited in line for vehicle when the last vehicle available was rented to the person In front of us. When I asked the woman what we were going to do as we had driven 25 hrs to get to the location in RV and had family Issue that we needed to get to right away. She shook her shoulders and said I guess I can call another location and have them pick you up-wait outside. We waited for approximately 40 minutes while we watched people enter after us and leave with vehicles. I went back in to inquire what was happening and she laughed with the 2 young woman at counter stating I was a disrespectful old lady and she wouldn't rent to me. I apologized over and over -why I don't know-and explained our predicament. She said there was no way she would rent to us. Now extremely late-my husband and I treked through an unknown city in 90 degree heat for over 2 miles to get to the next enterprise location. The second location in Austin was amazing. Two young men in uniform immediately assisted us -Alex was incredible getting us a vehicle within less than a hour We attempted to contact corporate on multiple occasions with promises of a callback so we could address the young woman who is not in uniform and extremely rude and surly and left two senior citizens to walk in 90° heat in an unknown city where anything could've happened. We had absolutely no response. I do want to note that we've been at two other Enterprises in the last several weeks post the situation and had great experiences so it's only this particular location that we are discussing. Kudos to the location in Austin by the hotel and kudos to the enterprise in Pell city Alabama. Enterprise corporate should be ashamed. read more

If I could choose -0- stars I would. This facility is so poorly managed. The staff are rude, condescending, and in particular 'Lexie'. The cars are never clean. I've had to use this facility twice because of where I got my car repaired after someone rear-ended me. (Yes, two times). When I called another Enterprise location nearby to arrange a pick up, I was told by that location that the Braker Lane Enterprise location has an exclusive contract with that collision repair shop and they can't pick me up because they'll 'get in trouble' I just paid for an Uber to the Enterprise location on Research Blvd. rather than use the Braker Lane Enterprise location. I don't rent a lot of cars but when I had an accident in my car, my insurance company, USAA, sent me to Enterprise. It was a very nice experience. From the time my insurance company let me know that they would cover my rental car, I received a communication from Enterprise that I could proceed to the store and get my car. From the time of taking my car into the shop for repair to picking up my car, it was all done within a 1-hour period. I was greeted at the Enterprise store by Abby Bazan, the branch manager. She was efficient, professional, personable, and I'd rate her customer service skills to be a 10. When returning the car today, I was greeting by another friendly, personable and professional employee, Tahjae Collins, management trainee. He was fast in expediting my return and took the time to review the additional charges with and sent me on my way as a satisfied customer who will remember this experience. I was given a very scratched up car without any options for a different car. I pointed out all the scratches and dents and punctures and the employee ASSURED me that it was in the agreement, but she rushed through the whole procedure and missed a few. Once I returned the car, Enterprise sent me an email saying they would send me a repair bill, all for existing damage. After calling this branch, they told me they had to believe their employee and that I should have taken pictures. If I had options to begin with (and wasn't given such a damaged car), I wouldn't have to take 10+ photos to cover all the damage on the car. Horrible pickup process, damaged car, being blamed for their mistakes, I'm being charged for all of it, and no one has even a hint of accountability. The car I drive daily is a 2011 Honda Fit. It has a manual transmission, no Bluetooth, and no backup camera. When I rented an automatic Toyota Corolla on a recent trip to Portland, I felt like I was driving a spaceship. So, I asked for some help from checkout. Well, I got a full rundown on operation, CarPlay, lights, fan, and A/C. Had I not known about the navigation, I think I would still be lost in the wilderness today. The last rental I made didn't even leave a manual in the glove box. This is important. I needed to learn how to use an automatic downshift when descending a mountain. (Remember, I drive manual) In short, how satisfied can one be in a rental car? Extremely. From checkout to check in, y'all have a good team of professional, knowledgeable and courteous employees. I don't normally fawn this much over something so prosaic as a car, but my experience driving was nothing short of momentous-the car was clean, the AC was great, the car wasn't some strange color. The navigation and the music system were stupendous. And I didn't have a boring vacation with the in laws-I rafted the Deschutes, I climbed Smith Rock, I biked through Bend, and I hiked to Tamalich Pool ( oh wait, I'm not supposed to reveal that). read more

We haven't had hail in the areas in 6-months And they won't give me a ride. Terrible service & liars. Don't use them. No accountability. Not very happy with the car I was given today. My first impression of the car from the outside was it was VERY streaky like they washed it & didn't rinse, like so streaky I could barely see out of the windows. Secondly the inspection of the vehicle expired in February and it is now July. When I asked about that the lady said "Oh yeah well it shouldn't be a problem." Lastly, as I drive out of the park of lot the tire air pressure light comes on. When I check the tire the PSI which is suppose to be at 35 is at 20 and the tire is basically flat! So I was given a dirty car with the inspection expired and it had a flat tire.... I will not go back to this location. read more

I had to rent from them due to my car being in the body shop. I was over charged I told I had to pay a new deposit basically every week. I had to swap cars no signature was needed I guess. I aaked for all the extra charges to be removed they were not. I called and did it in person still charged for all the extras. I was told on a Friday I would have a refund come Monday they said I owed doesn't make any since. Every car I had needed service was told no they were ok. Manager not using his manager skills, I asked for his boss number refused to give. I advise anyone not to goto this location. read more

My rental car is being paid by the insurance and I paid for protection out of pocket. The day I wanted to cancel my protection I got pulled over by the police bc the car registration expired. The officer said it was my responsibility because I'm the driver. I swapped the cars the same day but wanted to extend the protection for one more day to try the new vehicle. After a long conversation they agreed to give me 1 more day of protection at their expense but charged me for this extra day anyway. Until I checked and asked them to remove that charge. Very inconvenient, low bar experience. The second car has dents and scratches all over the car. I have a copy of their document confirming multiple damages but we'll see how it goes when I take it back. read more

I was told enterprise would drop off the rental at the body shop where my car was getting repaired. However they sent two male employees to pick me up. No one called to update me on that change. The main issue is lack of communication. I personally was not comfortable with that based on previous experiences and it was a trigger for me. I do not Uber or Lyft alone and had I known in advance I would've arranged for someone to take me to their location. Upon my arrival and getting my information with the front desk employee who was one of the men that picked me up, another employee rudely chimes in saying I don't have a reservation to the coworker even though I'm right there. I'm not sure what the reason for that was if because I'm a young girl so he probably thought I was naive or what but I addressed him directly and said I did have a reservation & gave him the code. They said the car will be brought to the front "shortly". Well, shortly was almost a whole hour later. I had no interest in speaking to those employees about my complaint so I waited until the next employee who was wearing a different shirt so I'm assuming manager. When I brought it to his attention he claimed insurance dropped the ball and they don't discriminate (regarding 2 male employees picking me up). I responded saying it's not about discrimination it's the fact that no one called to update me about the change and that there was no consideration that maybe it would make me or any woman for that matter uncomfortable, triggered, bothered, etc. The two males that picked me up did not interact with me so they were not rude or anything like that I just didn't feel safe being in a car with two strangers. Additionally didn't appreciate the accusation of not having a reservation & not being spoken to directly. I don't know that the manager really grasped what my complaint was therefore I'm leaving this review. Lastly, is it really necessary to read out loud my personal information? For safety reasons that made me uncomfortable and maybe they should consider just flipping their iPad & ask if the information is accurate instead of having everyone in the store listen to what car I own, my address, phone number, etc. For future customers maybe clarify these things or just go to another location. read more

So I found myself renting a car for the first time in my life after an auto accident. The insurance company set me up and allowed for an "intermediate" sized vehicle (on their dime). When I arrived they let me know I would be in a smaller class. I asked why and really wasn't given a good explanation other then that is what they had at the time. After quite a bit of back and forth I accepted a compact car. They kept stating it was "close to the car I owned in size" I mentioned well I don't care because the insurance company promised an intermediate sized car. Anyway, in the end I got a good car that got me around. Would I go back, maybe but probably not. read more

I only use the Braker Lane location in Austin Texas, They are always very helpful and friendly. There was a miscommunication with an agent through Enterprises customer care 1-800 portal upon return of my most recent rental that resulted in some extra charges. After a short discussion with the manager at Braker to clear up the situation, I was taken care of no questions asked, made my day. Obviously, these folks know how to treat their customers with courtesy, respect, and appreciation. Not to mention, picking up the slack of the less capable 1-800 CSR's This level of customer service and professionalism is not found just anywhere these days and that's why I keep using this location. Horrible experience doesn't even cover it. Completely unhelpful employees. I was told by multiple employees I was able to use a certain ID, and then when I got into the store they all told me no. I went in 3 TIMES expecting to be helped and I walked out 2 minutes later with zero help from anyone. I'm confused and frustrated why they all tell customers different things. Worst experience ever! The most awful customer service I have ever experienced. Yesterday, after making a reservation for a car, and dropping my car off, they told me sorry but no rental car so I had to have a friend drive an hour round trip to come get me, with the promise of a car the next day. The manager (Sam) told me that a car would be ready for me between 12-1pm today. My 80 year old mother-in-law drove me 50 minutes from south Austin to get there and again, no car ready. The manager on duty today said, "We have a car for you. It's just not here!" I was visibly upset after wasting multiple hours of my time and calling up favors to get another ride, and asked my mother in law to come inside since the car wasn't there. This manager told me he didn't like my tone and sarcasm (I was upset but not being sarcastic, just very matter of fact) and he was incredibly rude and ended up asking my mother in law and me to step outside and that he was cancelling the reservation!! I own multiple businesses and have never been treated this way before ever. No apology, no taking of responsibility, no offer of help, and throwing out me and my elderly MIL! I own 3 businesses and can't imagine they will have much more business, treating customers like this! read more

She then changed to saying that notes show that someone called and left me a voice message saying no rentals were available but I never got the mysterious voice message. Rather than try to help me get a reservation she wanted to convince me to wait for a few more days to get a car rental. No apology, no offer to help find a rental at another location. I suppose the employees here are nice enough (unlike their counterparts at the "national" level), but that doesn't change the fact that they were unable/unwilling to "pick me up" as advertised. They threw in the extra insurance bs without asking me and are closed on weekends, so, according to the lady I spoke to at the national level, I'd have to return my rental on Monday, after buying a new car on Saturday. Fortunately, one of the other stores that IS open on weekends allowed me to bring it in to them, then I got smacked with a bill that was 2x the quoted amount! Also, if you DO decide to rent from Enterprise, pay the extra couple dollars a day for the compact car. I was cheap and went for the economy level (since it was coming out of my pocket/savings) and got the crappiest p.o.s. car I've ever been in in my life. On the upside, though, I suppose it motivated me to get shopping for a new one AS SOON as I learned that my insurance company decided that my beautiful 2009 Honda Accord was a total loss. My rental car payment was only $100 less for 5 days then my brand new monthly car payment. The lesson from all of this? Make sure your insurance policy has rental coverage. I didn't know that you had to pay extra for it, but it's worth the couple more dollars each month. read more

Warning: They may seem friendly, but they're either inept or deceitful. Whatever the case, they're not going to look out for you. Ineptitude: I was encouraged to rent here by Allstate, after my car was rear-ended. I set up the rental over the phone and we agreed on a mid-sized car. After they picked me up and took me to the rental place, they did not have a car ready, and I waited an hour before they finally got me into a car. First they tried to put me into a tiny Fiat, which they claimed was what the insurance covered. Not wanting to take on Texas trucks in a mobile sardine can, I asked for something larger. Then they tried to put me in a car that they had already sold. On the third try, we agreed on a car, but it took them 30 minutes to wash it. Deceit: I asked for the full coverage waiver, and I'll admit I made a mistake of not reading all the fine print, but it's hard to do when you're stressed, late for work and you're handed a paper with lots of tiny words on it. I didn't realize that they had signed me up for $41 per day full coverage when my own insurance probably covered most of that. But here's what gets me now, they were repeatedly telling me about my car costing $6 per day for the remainder that wouldn't be covered by insurance, but they never verbally told me the price of the coverage. Probably because they know it's outrageous. Next the shop took a few days too long to get a new bumper, and now I have a $246 + bill for just the insurance. I will never rent here again. read more

The clerk informed me I could not get my refund on my deposit, as he was only "helping out" from another location. I repeated, mostly politely, that I wanted my refund. He argues with me. He calls the manager over. "Hey dude, she's all yours". Snicker snicker. Punk-ass prep boy. WTF once again. Manager was at least professional and explained only the Braker store could refund my money. Which is not open on Sunday. Besides the wait for a ride to my car, which was parked at the Braker store, was over 2 hours. So, I kept the truck another day. Finally Monday rolls around. I take the truck back. The manager, Mr. George was at least apologetic and comped it. I noticed he didn't ask me the "How Satisfied Were You With Our Service" questions. Smart man. read more

I have USAA and they setup rental for me. I called around noon to get a pickup at my home at 5pm they asked for address and even said oh you're less then a mile away. We can pick you up at 545pm. Well 548 rolls around I call and they said "we had a mix up" I was like well I have no car and need it. Well we can't send anyone out now it put someone staying after 6. It was you're mistake I'm sorry sir beat we can do is pick you up at 745am I was like well wow I have to be at work at 7am how does that help me plus errands I have to run tonight. Rent somewhere else horrible customer service. They should have said we will have someone right over I'm .3 miles away but no lets not have customer service. I wish I could give 0 Stars So corporate contacts me in regards to this review and for my trouble and spending over $100 in taxi fair they offer me a free upgrade for my next rental? Got a rental car here while my car was in for warranty work at Carmax. Every employee here was so courteous, from beginning to end. They gave me a ride back to Carmax when my car was repaired. Only downfall was the Kia Rio had a smoky smell...but I didn't bring it up, either - had it not been springtime and windows-down weather, I probably would've complained. read more

This was the only location nearby with the soonest reservation available, but still waited 5 days. Insurance paid for the rental. First car the tried to give me had a bald tire on the front passenger side. I told them it wasn't safe to drive. They took their tire gauge measuring tool and placed in several locations until it measured a 3, and said it's at 3 tread so it's fine. I said it was not safe and was told they had a suv I could pay extra for. I said no, then they gave me a smaller car to drive then what I reserved. In the 6 weeks I had it the tire pressure gauge lit up twice and I had to refill them. I don't think they care about the safety of their vehicles. When you try to call this office they never answer the phone and if they do your on hold for over 15 minutes. Which is weird because both times I've gone there, they have at 4-5 people working just sitting around talking to each other. read more

Walked in after a very bad experience with their competition down the street. (An experience that 'hurts'.) While there, other customers walked in and were greeted by their FIRST names. (I'm guessing they have a lot of regular customers.) It happened three times while I was getting processed. They took care of my rental - without having a prior reservation - in about 15 minutes even though there were a ton of people waiting their turn! Couldn't believe how many people were waiting! No one was upset. I did hear a customer calling, asking to speak to a manager, complaining because he didn't get picked up in a timely manner. BUT - to defend the driver - traffic that day was off the chain horrible. So you can't blame the pick-up driver when trafic impends their ability to pick them up. (Just saying.) And, finally, yes - the way their contracts work, you need to initial the 'decline' blocks for all the additional insurances. I wasn't told this but I knew from previous experiences to READ the WHOLE contract. Is this a corporate thing (since this isn't the first time I've experienced this with Enterprise)? So when he reviewed my contract with me he made NO mention of them. So ** I ** had to ask, "so I need to initial in this section to decline these??" Being an Enterprise Rent-A-Car member and customer for about 10 years, and having rented cars from as many different rental companies as there are out there, I'm a native car renter of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. In general, there are things that I expect when I rent cars The Good: As long as I am 25 years old and I have a credit card in my name with available credit, there are car rental companies that rent cars to customers and I can rent cars so I can continue with my day-to-day life. This is Good. The Bad: Sometimes even with a confirmation the rental that I booked isn't always available. That said, I have come to expect that I will get offered another vehicle closest to my booking rate in a customer service attempt to make me as whole as possible. Sometimes, I may end up with a van. This is bad for me because, I prefer compact cars and they are more fuel-efficient. But wheels are wheels...Go back to Good. The Ugly: Up until yesterday, my Ugly portion of this review would have included Ugly cars..Smelly cars..Long waits..Overcharges..untrained customer services reps...Customer service reps lacking common courtesy. All of these Uglies have always been made right EVERY TIME, in some form or fashion by good customer service reps or managers who step in either in person or by phone. Go back to Good. I met Ugly for the first time. She proudly goes by Cherry Mendoza (spelled it for me and verything) (actually Cheryl Theresa Mendoza) and her role at the Enterprise location at 707 E. Braker Lane is that of Assistant Manager, formerly Management Trainee. At the counter, a young lady (not Cheryl) told me no cars were available. She said that because I booked the same day I was not guaranteed a vehicle. I stated, "that's not a reservation, then, right? At this point, Cheryl T Mendoza (Cherry) moves from across the office space to take a spot behind another computer screen and she looks at the young lady's computer screen, then starts typing away on her computer. She does not greet me. She does not introduce herself. She does not ask the young lady or me what is the problem. Because she has not acknowledged me, I continue to interact with the young lady in front of me. I ask her what other cars are available. Cheryl speaks for the first time. She say as she opens the metal cabinet holding all the keys, "We have 2 pick up trucks." I asked Cheryl for the rate. She stated the rate was $80. I asked if she could honor the rate at which I booked and she stated, "No." I asked why. She stated that because I booked today, I was not guaranteed a car. This was the second time this statement had been made to me (2 x in 1 day, 1st time in 10 yrs.). I said I'd never heard anything like that. I ask where is the nearest Enterprise that does have a vehicle that I can reserve. She begins to search. At this point the young woman says that other customer who book days in advance take priorty (I understand this), and then starts to state the same-day booking equals no guarantee to me again. I tell her to please stop talking and saying the same thing. I tell her she is saying something that does not make sense to me That's when Ugly came out to play. Cheryl says she is not going to help me. She is not going to rent to me and I can leave. Yes. This happened. Wait. The show has yet to start. Lights...Camera...Action!!! I dial the 800 number. Cheryl leaves through the back door while phones are ringing off the hook, probably to put a spin with her manager on why she is refusing me service. A rep answers and I explain the situation. While the phone rep is searching for me she is also stating she does not understand why the same rate can't be honored, nor why I have been refused service. I keep talking on the phone with the rep. That's when I realize that Cheryl has walked back in and is yelling at me while I'm on the phone and while other customers are at the counter being helped or are walking in. She is saying "I don't care!" "I don't care!" I explain to the phone rep that I have never experience anything like this and that the office rep is yelling at me. I put the phone up so that the phone rep can hear Cheryl. And she does. She says she can't believe that is happening. My daughter tells Cheryl, "You're acting like a little teenager right now". This pushes some buttons for Cheryl, because she gets even louder and angrier and says, "You need to leave! Right now! Leave right now or I will call the police." The phone rep hears this and can't believe what she is hearing. I tell Cheryl, we're not doing anything and that I'm on the phone with an Enterprise rep trying to complete my original booking.
