My experience yesterday picking up my rental car (went thru an insurance company, so Hertz was not my choice) left much to be desired. The driver (Paul, I think) who picked me up from Berli's was great - on time, really nice and friendly - and was the best part of the entire experience. I called the Friday before to reserve the car I wanted (full-size, Altima or Camry) and I was told it wouldn't be a problem, they would have plenty of cars at 9:30am on Tuesday. I made her PROMISE she would have the car on the lot. When I arrived to pick up my car, they ONLY HAD 2 CARS - a Corolla and an SUV. Long story short, I started asking a shitload of questions and made the guy go back and forth showing me both cars, letting me sit inside of them, asked him to tell me about their gas mileage (which he wasn't very knowledgable), etc. until LUCKILY an Altima pulled in (destined for the Ford dealership). I asked if I could have it and they let me. NOTE: the Altima is not great and smells like someone has smoked in it, even though there is a strict no smoking policy. If I had my choice, I would have rented from Enterprise. read more

Returned car to collision center on Wed and called Hertz. It is now Sunday and I'm receiving calls from Hertz stating I never returned my car. How are they still in business???? Hertz hurts alright. read more

Horrible experience. Ended up walking out and going somewhere else. NEVER again will I rent from Hertz because of this experience. An extremely RUDE person started to process my reservation - no eye contact, no conversation. Dude - if your life sucks, don't take it out on your CLIENTS! I told the guy I've never had this kind of an issue before with their competition. Know what he told me? He said I should go back to them instead! So I did. Also the parking lot is IMPOSSIBLE to navigate - no empty spaces for customers. HUH?? I went down the street, was greeted by really friendly staff who were happy to match the prices from hertz. Bad experience... then Oliver did what he could to make it better. Renting another car tomorrow and having Oliver help.... I'll update you guys. My auto body place has been working with them and really likes them - versus Enterprise. So... called on Wednesday for a Friday pick-up. Spoke with Andrew. Andrew asked me to call 15 minutes prior to pick-up to remind them. I called 30 minutes prior to Friday's pick-up time and a woman answered the phone. She sounded clueless and asked me for all my info again. I asked why she needed that if I had a reservation (and gave the information 2 days prior.) She put me on hold... then Andrew picked up the phone and asked to help me - as though he wasn't in the loop with the conversation I had with the woman. (BTW: their office is very small... lack of communication between them does not give me a warm fuzzy comfortable feeling that they know what they are doing.) Andrew then admitted that he had the reservation wrong and said they would pick me up. Oliver picked me up and tried to make it better. When at the office I met the woman I spoke with prior and told her about the incorrect reservation and also let her know that when she places me on hold... it would be good to let me know if she is transferring me to someone else... or what. I was pissed by this time... thinking.. his is NOT going well! Oliver tried to help and I had a car for 2 days. Because of Andrew's mistake I had a larger car than I reserved which cost me more in gas. I'm renting another car tomorrow and scheduled everything with Oliver. I'll update you guys as to what happens. Good thing is that I can leave the car at my auto guy's shop which will make this rental return quite convenient. read more

State Farm uses Hertz and sent me here when my car was in the shop. I previously had a less than stellar experience at this location, so I wasn't very excited about returning. However, I could not have asked for a better experience. When I called to check, they had already received my info from insurance, and offered to pick me up at the body shop. Since it was convenient for my wife to drop me off, I declined. Paperwork was minimal and I was in and out in just a few minutes. It took me longer to pair my phone with Bluetooth than it did to check out. They reminded me that - when my repair was complete - I could leave the rental at the body shop and they'd pick it up. Super convenient. I had a long-term rental at Enterprise last year and it was way more trouble checking in and out there than it was at Hertz. read more

Let me first say THANK YOU to staff at this location. We planned our vacation for a year - consisted of traveling for 12 days and stopping whenever / wherever we chose. I priced 4 different companies directly as well as secondary agents such as Priceline/Expedia. Hertz had the most reasonable cost and reserved vehicle with ease. Almost so easy that I wondered if I was going to show up for pick up and learn that reservation didn't exist. Not only was a vehicle ready at 7:30 am- my mid-size car that I reserved wasn't available so the wonderful agent upgraded vehicle at no charge! In hindsight - this was the perfect vehicle. We would not have traveled so comfortably in the smaller one. I have rented from Enterprise and the rental return experience was so bad that I would never rent from them again. The line was short, half hour wait to talk to someone. They were supposed to be expecting me but had no idea about my rental exchange. The parking lot is a muddy dirt pit. No paving seriously. The entrance is hard to negotiate. The car chiice was zero. I am now in dispute woth corp office about charges for gas. They estimate the amount at checkout, and its just a guess on their part. I had no choice but to go to Hertz thanks to the insurance company. There was a person before me renting a car and the sales associate told him the car that he choose was too dirty. When he got to me he went to check the car I was getting, I asked him if he was sure it wasn't too dirty, he said no it just needed to be vacuumed. My ride left, he finished vacuuming it out... When I got in it, OMG it was a sight for soar eyes....the seats were dirty all the way around! Look like someone took chocolate milk and threw it on the seats and let it dry on top of whatever else that was on them. I told my ride if they hadn't already left I would have left the car there. I came home and cleaned the seats, there was no way I was going to use that car as nasty as it was given to me! I still put towels on them after that. What really pissed me off is that I took it back the day before it was due, went to the gas station and put the tank back where it was, dropped it off and they had the audacity to charge me because they stated the tank wasn't full, it wasn't full when I received the car. What they should be concerned with is providing customers with clean cars that don't make them feel nasty just from sitting in them...They definitely need to work on that and stop trying to charge people when it was not suppose to be a charge! read more

I have been lied to and mislead by the management of this location. After returning my vehicle, they claimed there was a crack in the windshield (which I have no idea how it got there, seems to have appeared after I dropped it off at Caliber to pick up my own vehicle). They made me sign a Vehicle Incident Report and said "Don't worry about it", which has now turned up as a $191 bill from some collections company they use called Viking Billing (never got anything in the mail from them until it went to collections). Also, the Branch Managers William and Rebecca have completely ignored my emails asking for help. How's that for customer service!? read more

I don't even know where to begin because there is so much to say. All I wanted to do was rent a car to go to my hometown for Christmas. When I got to the rental agency, the car I chose online was much smaller than I had expected, so I asked the agent if I could upgrade. He looked at the dirty car next to us and said he would charge a $5 upgrade if I was okay that it wasn't clean. I was like sure, why not? I have two kids, it was gonna get dirty anyway. Because it was Christmas and because we changed cars at the last minute and because it was 5 in the afternoon on a Friday, neither he nor I looked at the car as carefully as we should, and it wasn't until I was leaving the parking lot that I noticed there was a crack in the windshield. When I got to the office in Jackson, I told the Hertz rep about it. Well, five days later and I see not only did I get charged with the crack, but I also got charged the full upgrade. Since that day, I have tried calling this office every day trying to get a refund. And magically, somehow, my transaction has gone missing from their computer. Imagine that! So please do not rent from these a-holes. read more

Horrible service....they don't even deserve a star...I reserve a specific car a month in deserve (suv) I was assured to book one early so that they can get one from another location. I call a day before to be picked up and they assure me everything is according to plan. Come the actual day 30 mins prior to being picked, I get a call from a Nicole telling me that I can't get a SUV but a fullsized car, okay how am I gonna fit 6 luggages n a baby in a fullsize car. The manager, Brittany wasn't helpful either. Avoid this store as much as you can ended up driving to Austin to an enterprise. read more

I wish I had read these reviews prior to renting here. Not sure what was worse- the service, attitudes or car I was given. But the icing on the cake was when THEY lost my rental AFTER I returned it and then charged me continually and accused me of not returning it. What a nightmare read more

Renting was a breeze and the staff was very friendly! Shout out to the manager for going above and beyond for me, I wish I got her name. Got a cute blue Yaris that was perfect for my long road trip to TN. If I had gone in my regular car I wouldn't have made it. So, thank you! 20 out of 10 would recommend and rent again. read more

I wouldn't even give this place a single star, absolutely terrible service, make sure you ask a lot of questions when renting from here I still have yet to get my deposit back and they say oh it's going to take 3-4 business days to get you your deposit back.... They didn't wait 3-4 business days to accept my deposit they needed it right away of course but no when I need my money I have to wait because they fail to mention the tiny details and fees, this place is garbage read more

The only reason I rented from this company was because they have an agreement with my insurance company. I'll never use Hertz again after my last experience. The car they gave me had stains on the seats. It smelled strongly of carpet cleaner/deodorizer (fruit punch scented?) that was only slightly tolerable when I lowered the windows. Then, each time I turned on the air conditioner, I got a blast of really bad body odor. I have rented many cars for business and personal purposes and this experience was one of the worst I've ever had. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I called on a Monday to reserve a very specific vehicle (12-passenger van) for a Friday trip. I was told that the vehicle would be ready and available at 7:30 am on Friday morning and no other action was needed on my part except to show up and pick up the vehicle. I stressed that we were going to buy non-refundable tickets after making the reservation and that i really needed to make sure the vehicle was available Friday. Again I was assured that it would be. Showed up Friday and NO VEHICLE! All we got was "we messed up" and were offered to drive 60 miles north to the closest location that had one that we could pick up. Not an option as we were driving 100 miles south for our day trip. We asked for a corporate number to complain and were only given a regional manager's cell phone number. We have called her and left voicemails with no return phone calls. We have tried to contact Hertz corp via their main website and still no return e-mail or phone call. It appears that they do not care to acknowledge their mistakes or own up to the fact that they caused a potential customer to lose out $400.00 in non-refundable ticket purchases. I will never use Hertz locations at all anymore. They have forever lost this customer. They are rude and not helpful. read more

HORRIBLE service. After being set up with a rental at Hertz through an insurance company, I've had to deal with four different Hertz locations just to get a rental and get it returned. Any representative I've talked to has been rude, lazy, and couldn't care less to help me in a timely manner. I even spoke with the manager at this location about the ineptitude of her employees, and after politely listening to my problems, she promised to get back to me that day. Did I ever hear back from her? Of course not, because Hertz really doesn't care at all about it's customers. When I called to ask how I return my rental, the representative simply answered, "you'll have to talk to a different location about that." I had to spend ten minutes on the phone probing him from which location, how I get transportation between Hertz and the car repair shop, and what number to call. This is after spending two hours at another Hertz just to get the rental in the first place. Never dealing with Hertz again. read more
