Won't answer the phones. They're either completely understaffed, don't care at all about customer service, or both. This is a common theme with most of the Enterprise rental locations in the Baton Rouge area. Hertz has much better customer service, and I highly recommend them over Enterprise. Update 1: I have emailed their customer care per their request. My hopes are not high as they have completely ignored a previous complaint about this exact same issue. I will update this review with whatever the outcome may be. PS... I listened to the phone ring non-stop this morning at their Baton Rouge International Airport location for 37 minutes before having to give up. Update 2: No one from this location ever called me. Horrible. Employee Nick who later I was told was the manager needs more training. Arrived by 5pm after issues with flight. My reservation was for 2:30pm. While there I was told I did not have a reservation. I looked and asked him to check again. I got out of line and looked some more on my phone. I found it and got back to Nick. Only then he said yes he sees my reservation. They gave my car to FEMA since I was not there. Plus no more cars for me. Nick failed to tell me before hand. I regretted renting from them during a trip my family and I took over the summer. Our family always opts to rent a car during our longer drives. For this, we needed a large SUV because we were going to be gone for a bit. They gave us a Ford Expedition. From the onset, there was already a couple things wrong with the car: low coolant and a broken trunk door. They told us we could put distilled water into the coolant reservoir and we just left the trunk door alone (still able to open it, but had to try hard). When we arrived to Colorado, the oil change light kept coming on and it seemed urgent, so we took it to the nearest Enterprise Rent-A-Car. They were able to get us a car immediately; however, because we didn't have the proper paperwork that Enterprise was supposed to give us (yup, they didn't even email it to us), the Colorado Enterprise came to the rescue and handled everything on their end to help us get the car we needed to continue with our journey. The Baton Rouge Airport enterprise is incompetent, their staff does not care and I even got ignored by a staff member (who had their ear phones on), when I was trying to initially get help with the problems we found out about the SUV. Then, they neglected to get me the proper paperwork to complete the rental car process. Don't rent from them, if you have the choice or go to the Enterprise on Jefferson (by Corporate), if you can. read more

Enterprise local personnel at rental places are courteous and helpful. My complaint is about corporate Enterprise and the technical issues on their app and website. As a result of these issues, I have almost 2ooo rental points and have been unable to use any of them. I have rented from them 3 times in the last 2 months. When the customer service and enterprise plus are called, they say they know about tech issues with app and website, however, all they can tell me is to keep trying. Every attempt to book online, continues to give error messages: password changed last week and it says its expired. NOOOO. Suggestion: issue a card to the customer to redeem points at the rental car site like money spent off a credit or debit card account. Points have been earned per your guidelines. Be aware of the 11% concession charge and another 11% facility charge that is not readily apparent when booking. I opted to let them pick the vehicle which turned out to be a Chevy Spark, seeming to me to be an economy size vehicle when it wasn't supposed to be no smaller than a compact. I brought it to the agent's attention and he stated that was not the Economy size. Looking on the website, it appears it was. My charge for Sunday to Friday was $480. This enterprise is horrible at all cost use another company. My first experience was't great but I figured I would give them a second chance boy was I wrong. The car we picked up at this location smelled like cigar or some type of smoke. We picked it up at night and didn't notice until the next morning the back sit was covered in dog hair so that means they didn't clean the car they just give it to us. In the midst of rushing for a flight, I forgot a pair of shoes that I'd changed out of and placed in a bag on the backseat floor. Do not expect your item to be returned, if you inadvertently forget it! They never called and when I inquired, they said they didn't receive them. With the Covid cleaning requirements, how can you not see shoes? Even if they slid under the seat, Enterprise's cleanliness is lacking. I rented again a week later and the brakes barely have padding. The brake squealing is loud and annoying and Enterprise apparently thinks it's appropriate to rent. Highly disappointed! read more

I had just landed in BTR and was about to pick up my Toyota Corolla when my service rep, named Adrian, began assisting me. He was friendly, professional, and courteous as he led me to the Corolla and took a seat inside to inspect the vehicle. That's when it happened. The burning, intense odor of cigarette smoke took command of my senses and I heard Adrian say "Oh no". In fact, so harsh was the tenacious tang of tobacco, that it caused my upper lip to curl skywards and stick to my hairline, enveloping me in darkness. As I felt the hair on both my arms and legs sublimate into smoke (producing the comparably pleasant bouquet of burning human hair), I heard my Enterprise Service Representative, Adrian, state "Oh no, we don't tolerate this here". With great resilience, he exited and closed the door to the Toyota Corolla and the smell receded. Upon having my sight restored, I observed that the olfactory onslaught had caused Adrian's generous application of hair product to melt and run down his sideburns, accentuating his masculine facial features. After this very true and factual series of events, my service rep Adrian gave me a free upgrade to a unit of my choice (I chose the Dodge Charger), and I couldn't be happier with the service provided. This site at Baton Rouge airport charges a $400 security deposit, which is too high, and it is not disclosed on the website. I call reservations 4 different times and talk to customer service and a couple of managers. No deposit charge at this site if you have a confirmation of flight coming and leaving. We were charged anyway. I have rented with Enterprise for years and airport vary with deposits which why I always call and ask if there is a deposit and how much. Enterprise!!! you can't have 4 different people saying no deposit for this location and they charge you a deposit!!! Get on the same page please. Sounds very deceptive. Budget, Hertz maybe next time. Super fast getting in and returning your vehicle. Nice staff and nice cars. The drop in stars is because the cars were just ran through a car wash and not even dried off (bad business) and the rental section in the parking garage area is FILTHY. The management should seriously have a steam cleaner clean the area where the customers must stand and place their luggage waiting for their cars; no one appreciated the spot and chewing gum stained concrete as a reminder of how dirty the are is or can be. Rented an unsafe car, brakes making a loud noise, hear another loud clicking noise when turning the steering wheel and feel a vibration near the front driver tire. My neighbor who is a mechanic looked at car and said the CV joint needed repairs and there was a huge risk of the building brakes getting hot, locking up and the tire coming off while driving. 800 customer service rude, refused to connect me to a supervisor and hung up on me. When I called back Daniel the same rep stated he didn't know what to do then, but he found the protocol and can help me now. After I explained to The airport staff member working Sunday 7/10/22, that I was instructed to come to the airport to change vehicles. She stated "that's going to b a problem"because my (computer technical issues) "system is down and I don't know when or if it's going to come back up." At this point I had already lost over 8 hours of my planned trip along with non refundable fees a paid for events in Atlanta, Georgia. I rented another car from Budget. In Monday morning, I call the enterprise location I rented from to request a refund along with reimbursement for a half of a tank of gas. The same person that rented me the unsafe car on Saturday, stated he would have to charge me for 1 day because I drove the car over 50 miles. I had to remind him that the airport is over 25 miles from my home as well as approximately 25 miles from the Prairieville Enterprise (were I rented) to the airport. After place me on along hold and stating he had to talk to his manager (which I think he is the manager) he agreed to "cancel" my reservation and refund in full, but the half of tank of gas was just my loss. As we were ending the conversation, he stated "Mrs Buchanan, the survey you will be receiving is for our location not the airport where you had problems." I look at Enterprise as one business without regard to the location or the 800 customer service; which all three failed me. I had not used Enterprise in over two years because of poor services and questionable safety of their vehicles. Will never use this location for car rentals. We had an issue with our car, we were told to come here to exchange our car. They would not exchange the car out for us and they had available cars for us to take. We called the call center after we left, who then told us to go back and they will give us a car. So we went back and they still said no go find somewhere else to exchange it. The problem with the car was Enterprise's fault but they still gave us the car to drive. This was not my usual overly friendly group. It took a bit for the gentleman to come out of the booth to great me. This car and the next enterprise car had really dirty windows on the inside. In fact I needed to stop at gas station to clean them. I could write my name on the inside front window. Too bad they can not clean better. read more

Great service, and everything was on time and ready. However, I'm guessing the car must have been smoked in previously. There were four (4) of the pine tree air fresheners hanging from the review mirror and two (2) more from the turn signal; I had to remove them and put them in the trunk, the smell was overpowering. Also, and not related to this rental, when this business travel ended I was stranded at the Charlotte airport and needed to rent a car to get me to the Greenville Airport, a 1 1/2 hour drive. I was told that Enterprise would not rent one way and I had to go with a competitor. read more

Decided to give enterprise a try again and will not use them again. The tire appeared to have a slow leak in it and we filled it up with air only to get a flat 2 miles from the airport. Called for assistance and since my husband had already started to change the tire that was fine with them and was told I would be "taken care of" when I got to the airport. Yet another poor showing for Enterprise. I showed up to drop off my car but ended up waiting for about 15-20 minutes because the lady at the desk wanted to share a story with a co-worker. I literally stood in front of the rental and stared at them with my keys. When they were finally done, I had to go back and forth between the check-in lady on the ground and the front desk lady because they were operating on a different operating system/software. Rental booked on Expedia for the first time and everything went well. The lady at the check out counter was super sweet. It was dark in the garage when I left and I didn't pay much attention to the interior of the car until hours after I picked it up. There were ashes around the wheel and marijuana left in the driver side and passenger side doors. I tried repeatedly to call the local number listed on my contract but the line was busy. I left a note with keys in the drop box so they won't charge me for whomever didn't thoroughly clean the car before I received it. read more

Man- renting a car can be a hit or miss experience! You are either happy or thoroughly disappointed- and Yelp reviews for rental car places are all over the place. Steer clear of places with consistently low ratings. But this experience with Enterprise at the Baton Rouge airport was exceptional- the car was brand new and was what I reserved! The check in and out was flawless- within three minutes of getting to the counter I was driving out the garage in a brand new clean car. Not one second was spent trying to sell me an upgrade, needless coverage or prepay gas. I was treated like a professional. I always have anxiety about renting a car- never know what the experience will be- thank you enterprise for relieving my anxiety- plus I got my receipt emailed to me within 15 minutes of check in! read more

I rented my car through expedia.com which was a bad thing from jump because this branch says that once its booked through a 3rd party they cant issue refunds you must go through them directly but when you call expedia.com they tell you that the only way the issue refunds is if the branch location chooses to do so and in my situation they have decided not to do so or even call me back to discuss my issues i had with the car rental. First off got a car that wasn't driving right and was told to either drive it back or wait for a tow truck driver that they could have charged me for because i elected not to get the towing package but they will be nice im thinking hell i haven't been in this car 5 minutes it was broken when i got it. Well after waiting 4 hours the tow truck driver came then then took me back to get a second car the second car was dirty inside and out and had lights lit up on the dash board that i didn't know what they were till I played around with the dash board and found out they gave a car that had low tire pressure so once again i was given a car that shouldn't have been on the road. I have reached out MANY time to this location and have been told I would be called back by management and have yet to receive a call or email I honestly feel as though this company didn't care about me or my safety. read more

My first time renting a car and these folks were great. Convenient location if you're traveling through this airport, and I got a good deal booking through Travelocity. I got a 2012 Dodge sedan with only around 500 miles or so on it, which more than met my needs. I ended up extending my rental by an additional day and the folks here made it very easy to do so. read more

long walk to the car. When got to car the guy was in hurry to get me gone. He did not check the gas gauge. I noticed as driving out of garage that the gas gauge was only 3/4. the agreement was marked full. There was still trash in the console when I opened it as well. ERAC was my first job out of college (I worked there for the company for six years) so I'm a little bias about using their service. However I've tried other rental car companies at various airports and I always go back to ERAC. I find their prices to be competitive, the cars are clean with low mileage and I'm versed on when I should and shouldn't purchase their insurance coverage. I've also been lucky to get free upgrades from time to time (I generally request a compact car knowing if they are out of compact they will upgrade me for the same price). My recent experience at the BR airport was no different. I rented a roomy low mileage compact car for a reasonable price and the charges were exactly what I was quoted online. The checkout and return process was quick and easy. No complaints. read more

This is the second time that I've rented a car that from Enterprise that was dirty. The first time the car had a strong cigar smell in the vehicle. They did give us a discount on the bill. This time the car was just dirty inside and out. The outside had dirt and the inside windows had a heavy film. They did offer to wash the vehicle but two things: A) it should have been clean before I got there and B) I did not have time to wait for them to wash the vehicle. read more

WARNING! Did not honor reservation. Reserved car and was told upon pick-up that they did not have *any* cars available. Manager Gina Carroll told us we could call another location ourselves to see if they had any available. Did not try to find us another car. What's the point in making a reservation? How are consumers supposed to know that making a reservation does not reserve anything? The only other time I used Enterprise (at a different location), they gave us a car with an expired inspection sticker. I will take responsibility for failing to notice the expired sticker, but it makes me question the maintenance of their vehicle fleet and I will not rent from them again. read more

I rent from Enterprise all the time for business travel. My usual issue is not the friendliness of the staff- it's the cleanliness of the car. This time, the car was clean and I was very pleased with the rental itself, but the staff was, well, rather unfriendly. The reservation desk was empty when I arrived, and I had to go to another company's associate to see whether Enterprise even had anyone working their desk. After a wait of 5-10 minutes, I finally got the OK to go to another desk to get my car. Overall, 4 different associates assisted me and not one of them had any thing nice to say. If you care about customer service, you might want to check with a different company. read more

I rented a compact car and when I got to the counter I initialed all the paperwork. I didn't not get extra insurance coverage as my credit card will cover any loss. I walked to the pick up lot on the 3rd floor which is a fairly long haul. The attendant said they were out of compacts but would I mind having something larger. I was given a new Ford F150 pick up. Worked out great because I had my dog in a large dog crate. I loaded up my things and off I went. Two miles down the highway a light came on in the dash. It was a wrench. Then the car started acting like it wasn't getting any fuel and wouldn't go forward even though I was pressing the gas. I pulled off and called the number for roadside assistance. The gal on the phone said I would have to pay to have someone come out to help because I didn't pay for that on my rental policy. She advised me to limp it back to the airport to get another car. OK, this is a NEW CAR and it doesn't work but I would have to PAY someone to come and help me with it. I managed to get back to the airport, almost getting hit several times because the car wouldn't go more than 5 miles an hour and it was pouring rain and I had flashers on and people were speeding by. I was given a Hyundai Santa Fe which worked great and had lots of room. The attendants at the lot were great but I was really disappointed with the Enterprise roadside assistance as they wouldn't help me with the car because I had not signed for that type of coverage on my rental agreement. I would expect a car to function as part of the rental agreement and they did NOT hold up their side of the agreement. read more
