Great service, had the car I needed on short notice. Picked me up at and dropped me off to the auto shop when I needed. Both employees who drove me were absolute gems: friendly, careful drivers who were cheerful the whole time. Would absolutely rent here again if I ever needed to. read more

Extremely rude new female manager, Alexis Bunn. Something is wrong with her. If this is how she behaves with customers, one can only image how she is with her staff. She also appears to have a split personality. She will say one thing, and then in second have a robotic behavior. Have also witnessed her being rude, dismissive, arrogant to other customers. I would have said training may help, but this one is on Enterprise for making a bad hire. read more

The Hoover location is the worse. The female manager is rude and incompetent and the employees are very inconsiderate. I witnessed my mom and a few others have the worst experience. We will never use them again! read more

I went to pick up my rental from the Hoover location today but they only had a small SUV instead of a Mid-large which I had requested. AJ put me in the small SUV so I could get to work and told me he would get a larger SUV in later and hold it for me. I was pleasantly surprised when he called me later to tell me my larger SUV was ready to be picked up. THIS MADE MY DAY!!! AJ was learning on the job but offered a great amount of help. Great job AJ! read more

I called Friday to pick up my rental car. My insurance company said everything was taking care of I just had to pick up the car. I was told they needed 48 hour noticed. Guy on the phone was rude and nasty. I called the corporate office. They assured me they would get me a car because I explained my wife is a doctor and I own my own business so I really need a car. They apologize that they would call around and get me a car. I never heard back from them. read more

Well I will make this short and not to sweet. Two locations have left my wife stranded 2 days this week . Wednesday they said the were on the way twice then closed without picking my wife up at work. She waited 2 hours. Coworker gave her a ride home. Saturday comes and the manager, Taylor, informs my wife they are on the way at 12:30. 2:00 rolls around and she know informs us that they are too busy to come get her but she better get there before 3 if she wants a car because they close at 3. Unbelievable! Worst customer service I have ever seen. You would be better off calling Rent A Wreck. read more

This Enterprise location is horrible. They have very limited, if any, availability. I've rented with them twice (both through insurance) and have had standing reservations for over 72 hours and both times I get there for them to say they have no cars and ask if I could come back later that day or the next day. When it comes to closing out your rental make sure to ask what charges are making up your final cost because each time my total has magically been split in half. Their customer service is also poor and it's obvious they do not care about the inconvenience they cause and I have been put on hold for over 15 minutes with every call, that's if they actually answer the phone. read more

Picked up a rental over a week ago and had to stand outside in the heat for over an hour. Not one bottle of water offered or anything. Fan pointed towards the staff. Turns car in and they take me back to the body shop after it has closed and they had to leave my car outside with key bcus they were extremely slow. They had another customer get in the car with us which floored me as they didn't ask me if this was okay. Usually this would not be an issue but due to Covid this was UNACCEPTABLE. I could be sick af and so could this woman sitting behind me right now. People have become really relaxed with this virus. Out of all the times I've used enterprise this time sucked royally. read more

Caleb and his staff do an amazing job. They are typically pretty busy, but are still able to get you in and out in a timely manner and put you in a vehicle. I showed up with no appointment on a Sunday and was out in 15 minutes driving away in a nice vehicle. read more

They block you car in when you rent with them and laugh at you when you go to get it. they do not tell you about the 300 you put down to get the car they do not tell you you can't leave your car when you rent when you have no other choice. i will find everything you have and I will keep dropping bad reviews till someone contacts me on this issue. 1. Be sure to bring a card with adequate funds to pay whatever arbitrary security deposit they charge. 2. Bring pay stubs/utility bills/5 references/10 page essay why you believe you are the chosen one foretold in prophecy to rent the priceless treasure that is an economy car. In all seriousness they will likely ask for pay stubs or utility bills and no they will not tell you until you are at the rental location. 3. You must make a reservation but it is meaningless since they will randomly be out of cars since every new reservation after yours apparently bumps your reservation to the end of the line. So if you rent a mid sized sedan be prepared to be saddled with a panel van or M1 Abrams. read more

I had to get a car from them because mine had to be in the shop a few days. They had to pick me up from car max and take me to there place to get a car. They were very very busy but some how managed to find me the car I needed. I only gave them one star because yelp wouldn't except no stars. This place is an asylum! I have been forced to deal with this place 4 times. Every time is the same. As a pilot I rent a lot of vehicles from enterprise but the service Suhyb Nakhleh and members of this branch provide is unmatched.

Absolutely terrible!!!! I've had more than one bad experience with this location but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Once a guy tried to give me a car with a check engine light on!!!! This latest episode included a the rep attempting to loan me a pickup truck after I had a reservation for a SUV. I spoke with rep before I went in to inquire about the availability of what I had reserved. Instead of being honest about not having what I reserved available, the manager said, "Come in and we will get you going." Vague and misleading and flat out unprofessional at this location. I will never rent a car from enterprise again. read more

I reserved a car and went to pick it up only to be told they don't have any available, which defeats the purpose of reserving a car. Six people sitting in a small office doing nothing and not one of them could pick up the phone and let me know they were going to fail at keeping up their end of the agreement. read more

In the past I have steered away from Enterprise because it was always a hassle. Upon my daughter in law's recommendation I decided to give them another try. On the day I arrived to pick-up the vehicle I'd reserved, they were out of mid size cars so they upgraded me to full size for free ninety-nine. LOL. Anyway, the process was hassle free and fast. The guy that assisted me(don't remember his name) provided exceptional customer service. He explained everything as far as prepaid fuel, insurance and pricing all in detail. When I returned the vehicle, again the customer service was exceptional. Jonas was very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this location and I'd definitely patronize with them again. read more

Most insane layout of any business I've ever seen. Computers are 6-7 inches apart from each other and employees and customers are tripping over each other and shouting over each other every time I've been to this location. If the service repair shop didn't have a contract with this location I would never ever rent a car from here. They have ample space behind the counter to minimalist the cube space to make a larger counter space. read more

Last Deer Park Weekend Special rental was horrible. Got car an hour late, plus another 30 min to go pick up car at a different location than requested and there's traffic on Commack Rd. Up on return of car the lady manager wanted to over charge me until I explained THEY caused the pick up delay. Horrible at Park. It took forever in their office. Les Zemnes at the Hoover, AL Enterprise location gave me a free upgrade for a car rental I was using to go to my aunt's funeral in Wadsworth, OH. I will be going back to Les at Hoover Enterprise for all my rental car needs. Excellent service! read more

Very nice young man as a sales associate but the requirements to rent a car are ridiculous. I've rented cars in the past and never have I been through anything like this. I rented an economy car at the weekend rate of $9.99 a day and didn't realize I also had to give a $200 deposit which is fine. The problem I have is that for payment I was using my debit/credit card to be run as credit. They will only run as debit and require pay stub-like I carry that around or two utility bills and three references. I feel like I'm going g through a mortgage application. Never again Enterprise! read more

If you need to pick your car up during the week it is fine. Weekends are hit or miss. They will tell you they are understaffed and have very small hours. They also cant pick you up. Hope it doesn't smell because I have a long drive and 5 days in this car. read more

Most inefficient place I have ever encountered. Had to come here because it was set up by insurance company. Will never rent from them. Many people in line but no apparent hurry by personnel to get the cars ready. read more

Last year, I rented from Enterprise quite often. I had stopped due to the fact that they could not get the inside windshield clean on any of the cars, and it was dangerous when driving into the sun. So I quit renting from them. But I had earned quite a few points and needed a spare car for vacation - so I went back to the location in Hoover. I had reserved a premium class car. I called that morning to be certain a car would be available, and was told "yes". When I arrived, the girl at the counter told me that the only premium car they had was a premium Impala. Well, anyone renting any amount of time knows that Impala is not considered a premium car. She insisted that the class of car is not determined by the model, but by "how it is decked out". If I had been a paying customer, I would have left then, as she was simply lying. But I persevered. As she had told me there were no premium, luxury, or SUVs available, I asked to speak to the manager. Immediately, the girl helping me found a Chevrolet Equinox available and offered that as a substitute. Another lie proven false. She said she needed to check the car out and get it washed. I told her that I did not need it cleaned, as we were about to take it to the beach and would get sand all in it anyway. She said it would take her 5 minutes to look it over. It was 27 minutes later before she returned to give me the keys to the car. And the windshield was so dirty on the inside that I had to wash it as soon as I got it home. While I was on the trip, I decided I wanted to try the XM radio. I called the Hoover office to have it turned on. The girl I spoke with (who sounded just like the girl who prepared the rental agreement) was not familiar with XM or Sirius radio, and said "we can't add that to the contract." When I asked if she could have while I was in the office, she said that she didn't know. I called the national Enterprise customer service number and they had it on in 30-45 seconds. I needed to add my daughter to the contract during the week. I spoke with an agent at the Hoover office, and told him that I needed to add my daughter. He said that while they normally require that we come into the office, they would allow me to send a photo of her driver's license and they would add her. I sent the photo, but received no reply. I called and emailed several more times to try to get confirmation that she had been added, but I received no reply. Overall, Enterprise needs to step it up a bit - at least at the Hoover location. I have had excellent service at airports when I have traveled recently, but will not rent from an office where the agent kept lying to me. read more

Made a reservation three weeks before needed. Called one hour before my reservation to be picked up. Was told that I would be waiting for an untold amount of time due to no vehicles. No vehicles? What an absolute joke!!!! All of this customer service BS is just that. read more

When I turned my rental in, it had the exact amount of gas as when I picked it up. The lady who checked the car in charged me 15 bucks for gas. I guess this is their easy way to rip people off. I had to take my vehicle in for some mechanical work & wasn't expecting to leave it at the dealership overnight. So the dealership contacted Enterprise Rent-A-Car to come pick me up & provide me with a vehicle for the duration of the work. Now in the past, dealing with any car rental business is usually a hassle & more time consuming then it needs to be, but this time was different. As soon as I walked in the door was greeted by a friendly employee named Desmond Bozeman & was immediately taken to the rental desk. The office was full of people, but the employees handled it & were on top of each & every person there. Not only did I get a choice in the vehicle that I preferred, but the whole transaction was quick, efficient, easy & dare I say pleasant!? Mr. Bozeman was kind, friendly & handled the situation with extreme professionalism & had me in & out within 10 minutes! 10 MINUTES Y'ALL!? That never happens, especially in the middle of the day in a packed rental car office. Everyone there was friendly, professional, & extremely quick to help get me & other customers out the door & on with our lives. Due to the extremely pleasant experience I had at the office, I chose to return a week later & rent another vehicle over Easter weekend to travel to South Carolina. Not only was this second encounter even better than the first, but Mr. Bozeman remembered me from the week prior & greeted me by name. Now due to the nature of my work, I'm prone to traveling quite a bit & pleasant personal experiences are becoming more & more rare, but Enterprise in Hoover, off of Columbiana & Mr. Desmond Bozeman impressed me to the point of writing a review, which if I'm honest, rarely do. Not only would I recommend this Enterprise to my friends & family, but will continue to use them exclusively from here on out! Thank you Mr. Bozeman & the manager of this Branch, you're definitely doing something right & thank you immensely for job well done! read more

I had't any problem with this location. The personal was very interested on my rental, I got an upgrade because the car that I wanted was not available and the attention was excellent. Terrible service. I called this location after finding out at the last minute that the John Hawkins location does not offer pick up service, despite the fact that their reservation confirmation states that they will pick you up. (I made the reservation two weeks in advance & called to confirm it). The woman at that location said I could contact this location to see if they would accept my reservation and pick me up. The first person I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful. He said it would not be a problem and they would have a car for me and that they could definitely pick me up at 12, but would call if they had something sooner. I called back at 12 and the woman who answered was very unhelpful. She said she saw where I called in and the information was notated, but that she did not have a car. She said she would call me when one became available. I still did not receive a call back so I called again. She told me she wasn't sure when they would have a car and that she had rented the other cars to people who were waiting in line and basically that I had to wait until someone returned a car from Sylacauga, which is an hour away. I told her I had a four hour drive and a plane to catch and what should I do. She said she would call me, but that I would just have to wait. I never received a call back from either of these locations after contacting them four times. I spent the rest of my day trying to find another car rental company. Luckily Hertz on 31 came through. I have learned my lesson, will not use Enterprise again. ***Also, I have had to rent from this location in the past while my car was being repaired. They were helpful, but the wait time was over an hour each time. They are very slow processing the rentals. read more

I have been renting cars from Enterprise for years. This experience with the Hoover location has taken me for a loop. I asked for someone to pick me up from a repair location. The Enterprise representive comes but he was dropping off a vehicle not picking me up. He had to call to the office for someone to come pick us up. Then once I'm at the location the representative don't have a call....WTH...Enterprise has free grades...my reservation was not yesterday but days before......The worst experience ever with Enterprise. Hoover is the best location for rentals. The staff provides great service - especially when customers are there under difficult circumstances (wrecks, repairs). This was the best experience I've had renting a car. I showed up right before close on the day of my reservation, and instead of acting annoyed, the employees were so welcoming and accommodating. They quickly got me into my rental car, a super upgrade at that, and sent me on my way. The experience was so easy and stress free. Desmond helped me out when I picked up the rental, and also when I returned it. He was the best, so so nice and helpful. I will definitely be using this location again and I HIGHLY recommend it! read more

My reservation was for noon and the car was not ready until 2 pm. I stood on the sidewalk the entire time waiting. The car smelled so strongly of Febreeze, I had to roll the windows down on the drive back. Also, the Enterprise cars are possibly some of the worst vehicles on the market. My rental was a Chevy Captiva. Awful vehicle with no extras. No USB port for charging phone, no navigation, terrible engine. Should not qualify for the SUV rate as it is basically a sedan with a hatchback. My experiences with Enterprise continue to be terrible. Bad customer service, unreliable rental reservations, late pickup times, bad vehicles. Never using them again. read more

Tough start of the transaction, I get there and nothing close in my reservation, Abby really wants to get a vehicle for me as I'm probably tense since I was on a time table. She gives me all the options and no luck, just about that time another vehicle shows up that will work and she personally goes cleans it up and make it ready to go. I was very pleased that she and the others were working to make sure I got a vehicle that match my needs! I do agree with the older post that they could use more cars on the lot, it is a busy place! read more

Thanks so much enterprise for being the least helpful rental company I've ever dealt with. I left a few hundred dollars of fishing tackle in a rental. Somehow it was "overlooked" when they cleaned the car. I rent from this location probably on an average of 2 to 3 times a week. I fell in love with it first when TJ was the assistant manager and then Eva. Next time I'll be looking to rent from their locations as the location in Hoover on Old Columbiana has now given me 8 to 10 terrible cars in a row and an experience to match. I went in yesterday afternoon to pick up my rental. This morning when I got in the car, I had a low tire pressure indicator light come on. Because I was at the very beginning of an 8+ our trip today, I called and told them of my situation and the urgency with which I needed to return and replace my rental. I argued with a girl named Ashley for probably five minutes about how quickly she can get my car replaced. When I got there not only was it not ready to go despite my repeated pleading with her to have it ready, not one person said they were sorry for my experience. Obviously, they don't need my business. Therefore I will take it elsewhere despite the fact that I have to drive a little further and not have as convenient hours to work with. Worth the extra cost. read more

This Enterprise Rental on Columbiana is the best! I rent fairly often, and just about everyone who works there is courteous, knowledgeable and friendly, from trainees all the way up to management. I have never had a bad experience there. IN fact recently, I got a super low rate on a full size car because I THINK it was a computer glitch, yet they honored it for the full 4 days. Great guy is Chase-- always helpful, knowledgeable, gets me in and out very quickly, and also covers the salient points about the car very efficiently (for instance, certain switches, or the way a particular model turns on and off when stopped at light and how to re-set this). Also Hannah, a trainee (I think--- she was new to me) was going over my car when I returned it and I remember thinking Come on, come on, because I knew I'd gotten all my stuff out--- but lo and behold, she found my sunglasses!! saving me a trip back to the store! Can't say enough good about all the folks here- also like Jonah and Tim very much! read more
