2025 Mustang Strong Unpleasant Cigarette Smoke. Honda requested not to give me a car where someone smoked in it. I only had it from Friday 4/3 - Saturday 2 pm 4/4. Sat I started with a rash between my breasts. Mind you at 66 I have never had a rash between my chest. By Sunday morning at 9:15 am I went to Urgent Care it was so bad. They said I had contact dermatitis. Today is 4/9 and it is still very bad. Nothing had changed in my life other than the smoke filled car rental where the seat belt crossed over my breast. I googled and sure enough it could have caused me to get contact dermatitis. Good Lord. Wish they could see the photo I took this morning. I have rented three vehicles from Enterprise in the last month: 1. I requested a luxury vehicle and was put into an SUV with less than a 1/4 tank of gas and a filthy windshield. When I stopped for gas after leaving the rental location I had to purchase windex to clean the interior. Somehow, I was still required to pay the rate for my luxury car after having been placed in an SUV. 2. I requested an SUV and was picked up in a Hyundai Tuscon that wreaked of marijuana. So bad that I had a headache by the time we reached the rental location. I immediately informed the rep and was put into a toyota camry and yet somehow charged an SUV rate for a sedan... When I turned on the car the service light came on. The rep went ahead an turned it off. Mind you on all of these rentals I am driving 15 roundtrip on a Saturday. 3. I requested a luxury car. The location called to confirm the night before. 10minutes before my scheduled pick up time, I got a call saying they did not have any luxury cars. They put my in a VW Taos with 36,000 miles, filthy seats, and an air bubble in the tire. Again, I was charged for a luxury vehicle and got a busted up small suv... To make matters worse not only did the vehicle have an unsafe tire, the windshield wipers barely touched the glass. When I returned the car, I was given a small discount and told the manager would call me the next day. I NEVER received a call, apology, etc. This feels like an absolute scam. I have paid for three vehicles and put into a lesser class of vehicle at the same price. I always book through costco and will be notifying Costco and Enterprise corp as well. read more

The cars all drove good but the smell on the interiors were horrible. One had smelled like the previous renter had a smoker in it. It also smelled like they try to mask the smells with a cleaner. Enterprise is a scam. They rented a car to us and my mom drove it less than 50 miles while her car was being fixed in Bradenton Florida. When returned, the shady sales person went out and checked the car. He reentered the store within 2 minutes and said it was damaged. I disputed it and wanted to take pictures. I went out and could NOT find the damage so I went back in. The sales guy said it was the front grill. So I told him to show me. The front grill fin had been clean cut at one point. This was NOT our damage. This is common when plastic gets brittle (Florida sun) and pressure washed too closely. There was zero damage caused by anyone... otherwise it would be dented/ other damage. They knew it was damaged already probably from THEIR detailer and then pinned it on the next elderly person to blame them. There is no way he could find that "damage" in 2 minutes. He knew already... and is trying to scam us. I asked if he had pictures of the undamaged grill before we rented it and he said: No, that's your responsibility. Ummm how do if we never noticed it in the week we had it? Duh! Total scam and horrible experience. Enterprise is the company that AutoNation Ford used for a rental car while we had some warranty work done. Picking up the care took about an hour-even though, they knew ahead of time and should have been ready. The care was a Ford Escort but was not clean and windows were dirty. It didn't smell like smoke as others have noted but it should be as quality as it would be if you had rented and paid for it yourself. We cleaned the car so we could drive it-which ended up being 10 days due to Ford not having the parts needed to fix the warranty job. We dropped off the car cleaner than we got it and with a full tank of gas. It didn't take too long to return the car. We did get a $240 charge despite AutoNation Ford paying for the rental. Ryan from Enterprise was extremely nice and got on it right away to get us a refund. They said it was due to a problem with AutoNation paying but someone should have checked and this should not have happened. I may still rent again from Enterprise but you definitely have to check the car and not take it if dirty and pay attention to the charges. Ryan would be the reason we'd go back. read more

They picked up my rental from the dealership after I was done (which is how I was told to leave it) and the employee from enterprise sped through a school zone. I got the speeding ticket sent to me. They claimed I still had the rental even though they had picked it up from the dealership already. Managers won't get back to me and deny the situation happening. Don't use this location. It has Visa right on there but because it also said Debit they would not take it. I got home and looked on my other Visa card from TD Bank and it to said Debit. What the hell? If I could give zero stars I would. We rented a car here on 9/30/24, days after a hurricane hit the area. We reported that the car smelled terrible, but was told they didn't have any other cars so we took it and they noted the rental that we reported the odor. 4 months after returning the car, they billed our credit card $1000 to detail the car due to the odor. I called for two weeks straight, everyone promising someone would call me to clear this up. They never did. I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and won the appeal. I will never rent a car from Enterprise again! I even got a response to my Google review saying that they would love to hear from me. YOU DID! Where do I begin... So I had rented a dodge challenger from this location on the 26 of feb and returned the car the 8th of the following month. I always return the cars cleaned and washed... anywho the night of the 8th I had misplaced the keys somewhere in the car, but the keys were in the car or it wouldn't have started or I wouldn't have been able to drive it from Sarasota to Bradenton. Anywho I always park the cars behind the branch... well this particular night I couldn't find the keys... now that I think back on it they prolly fell between the front seats and center console. To make a long story short enterprise charges me an additional 2 weeks of rental kept my deposit an everything. Alex I believe is the branch manager he is being a while on this situation. He tells me that I can park the car behind the branch, but for this specific rental I couldn't. He tells me that they had to charge me a fee for something with the car. They charge me an additional 431 dollars and some change for a rental I did not have and returned. He even threatened to put me on the do not rent list. They they sent the balance to a creditor and all. Yes I paid it. This guy at the enterprise is a crook and he dead wrong. I clearly explained that I misplaced the key but the car was there. I returned the car and told another gentleman that works there. Both of them seen the car parked there. Anywho I will never do business with him again. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and don't use this location. First time I tried to rent a car, the location wasn't open when I arrived to pick up the car. I had to sit outside the office to wait for an employee to open up. The second time I tried, I ended up canceling my reservation and using my own car. The car wasn't ready when I arrived and after 30 minutes of waiting and being told that it would be another 15 minutes or so I left. Not sure why the manager is still employed here. While the service I received from Ally was outstanding the quality/cleanliness of the car was atrocious. Could not see out of the windows, I had to clean the car myself in order to drive it. There was something splashed all over the roof inside the car. They may have run it through the wash but they didn't rinse it. It looked as though a flock of birds relieved themselves all over it. Zero Stars. Brought my car in on a Saturday to the dealer for a factory recall. Received a rental agreement with this horrible place and got a shuttle to it. I walk in and there are about twenty people inside, one person working the front, no one answering the phone or telling anyone which place in line they are in. (Some were standing, some were sitting) So the people standing told me the waiting line started by the door. I wait behind these people for twenty minutes and finally get to the counter. I present my rental agreement and she tells me about a fifty dollar deposit I didn't know about....no big deal....so I'm about to hand her my debit card when put of the blue this guy gets up off his chair and says I cut in front of him??????? The girl behind the counter proceeds to hand me back my card and tells me to wait?? WTF????????? So I looked at all of the other people just sitting there with absolutely no idea how long this was going to be and I left. I call the dealer cancel the car....walked back to the dealership in a shorter time frame than I waited in line for. Worst customer experience of my life. Update: I asked an employee why they took my reservation when they didn't have a car, he said,"It's not our fault, corporate policy is to say yes and then try and fix it once your there. There is nothing we can do." I wish I had my camera rolling when he said that. Based on previous experiences with Enterprise I completely believe him. This transaction was done by fleet management when my fleet vehicle broke down so I had no choice but to put up with the way I was treated. (I think they knew that),(I know they knew that) I did have a personal experience with Enterprise that was worse than this one but because I didn't complain then I don't feel I should say anything else about that except to customer service. When i called them they say the corporate office did it when i call the corporate office they say the branch did it. They are thevies. What a horrible experience. The WORST location I've ever been to, and this is from someone that's lived in 15 states (military), and rented from enterprise for many years. Never had any issues at any other location. Went here to rent a vehicle and was met by a representative that claimed he was the manager. I gave him my information and asked what cars were available . He pointed to the parking lot and said whatever's there. I booked a full size car, but there were compact, mid size and an suv there alongside a premium vehicle. Total of 6 vehicles. He told me I was getting the mid size and I told him I didn't book that and asked if I'll be reimbursed the difference. Said no and then says the other vehicles have to get work done on them so that's the only one I Can get. At this point it's about 15 mins I'm there and I was in a rush so I took it and left. Car tire was soft, smelled like cigarette smoke, so I called and spoke with the manager who gave an attitude and had the audacity to claim I did something. Took it back 2 days after and needed another vehicle and wouldn't u know it, same guy (manager) I dealt with. Didn't apologize or bother to do anything to help. The other vehicle I was rented again smelled like cigarettes. I called again and was told to bring it in for inspection. My feedback is for the customer service at this location. There was miscommunication and an unpleasant encounter, but this Enterprise location came through in the end. I had made a 2-day reservation (Thurs, Fri) for a car a week before we needed it. However during that week, a situation came up and I needed a car for just one day. I called in, and requested a car ASAP for Tuesday. Enterprise was wonderfully helpful, and reduced our stress about having an unexpected need for a car- we had a very friendly pickup driver and our fast and efficient checkout. However, when my friend and I returned at 7:30 am Thursday morning, we were charged a rate $45 over our quoted rate for the reservation. When we asked about the discrepancy, the male employee (I believe assistant manager) said that rates change every day, and that this is the rate reflects today's prices. When I brought up my confirmation email with the quoted price, he replied that I had already used that reservation and modified it to a one day reservation for Tuesday. I replied that I had specifically asked that the Tuesday one-day reservation be a separate ticket from my Thursday-Friday reservation. He then acknowledged that anEnterprise employee had given us the $22/day rate for Tuesday (without telling me) because it was a better deal, but that it now was our fault that the Thurs-Fri reservation had been modified and ended after one day (Tuesday). He insisted that no matter what, I came out ahead because the prices were now $50 a day instead of $22 a day, and I should pay the higher price today. I found this unacceptable that I should pay more than my quoted price because of a miscommunication and mistake by Enterprise, not by me. After a while, my friend and I were able to get our point across that even though the Enterprise employee who checked us out on Tuesday gave us a good price for a car on Tuesday by using the existing Thurs-Fri reservation rate ($22/day), he/she did not inform us of this, and we did not get to decide and choose for ourselves what we wanted to do. Julie was understanding and helpful the entire time, whereas I felt that the other employee we spoke to could strongly improve his communication skills and reduce his confrontational tone. As a customer, I do not appreciate being cut off when I try to speak. I found his body language and facial expressions condescending. I also felt like I was being pressured to pay the higher prices. I really feel like Julie saved the day for us. The male employee knew the way to give us the previous reservation rate (he made it seem like it was impossible when we were arguing earlier!) Julie helped check us out and I appreciated her apology for the frustrating transaction. She gave us a restaurant recommendation and I left Enterprise with a good feeling. In the end, they were able to honor our quoted reservation rate, and we got a freshly washed car (one size upgrade because that's what they had). Wow. Thats all I can say about this ghetto operation. My daughter had a fender -bender and her insurance sent us to this Enterprise to rent a car. I'd heard bad things about this location but I never believe anything until I see it. Well, I've seen it. So we get a phone call yesterday while everyone is at work. "Your daughter loaned her rental car to her friend Brittney and she got into an accident", the lady told us. "We need you to bring back the car". Ok, there are a couple of things wrong with this: A) My daughter doesn't have a friend named Brittney. B) The rental was parked in the hospital parking garage where she works in the Emergency Room......and it was perfectly fine. When I pressed the lady about it she told us that someone had come in and told them she had been in an accident with our daughter. Really? What was her name? "I can't tell you that sir" "Do you have a police report?" I asked. "The woman said she was going to come back tomm with the police report" the lady said. "Are you sure you are not talking to the woman that my daughter got into the fender bender with this is about her car thats currently in the shop?" I asked(she wasn't, it was a totally different name). "We just need to see the car sir" the lady said. Ok so let me get this right. Someone came into your store and said they had been in an accident with my daughters rental car. A fictional friend of my daughter named Brittney was the one that had the accident. You have no police report. You have no insurance claim. You have no proof what so ever. And all this happened while the car was safely parked in the Sarasota Memorial Hospital parking garage. Now, we all have to take time out of work and school to drive 20 miles to prove to you your made up story is bogus. Excellent. We will get something out of this. A refund, a credit, a gift card, something. This inconvenience has cost me at least $200 in lost revenue and time. I knew going to this ghetto company might be an issue. Never again. If you're insurance company sends you here I highly recommend going anywhere else. ****update 2/14/18***** Was told this issue was sent to their regional office and to expect to be contacted. I made the reservation, my husband went to pick up the car. They made him use a a different Cc card then used in the online reservation. Also told him the online insurance offered when we rented the car wouldn't work? We were told it wouldn't be a problem paying with my Cc when we returned it. Cut to, it's a problem when we returned the car. Rude employees, terrible service, 100% would not recommend location on 14th and 49th in Bradenton FL it is an embarrassment to the business. Initially, I thought that picking up the rental car right where the repair to my car will be done was a great convenience. However, after getting a car that was clearly smoked in, by a very lovely, sassy, and downright rude customer service rep, that was clearly not a good idea, or a good place to get a rental. I just don't get it, people in this industry have a single focus and priority to be pleasant, and they still can't do it, in some instances. I did call Enterprise, and the corporate customer service was very understanding, and I even mentioned Emerald Club status with National, which got me nowhere at the "counter", clearly. If this is how Enterprise/National treats loyal customers, it really is just begging to go elsewhere. Horrible experience with a nasty staff, would not return and rent under any circumstances, unless I had to. An added bonus of dealing with this staff, and the dealership staff, who also had an attitude, is that I would never purchase a car at this location, and suggest others to avoid it as well. I have rented at this location several time in recent years. I have never had an issue with the customer service although this location has been extremely busy each time I was there, almost every chair across the wall was occupied. I witnessed people at 2 different times I was there become very agitated because they were taking returns back before these people were waited on. It happened when I was there but I just waited my turn and didn't say anything. A more efficient way to manage this might be to have a seperate line for returns with a sign on the counter saying 'Returns here" and a numbering system of some kind.. "Now serving #10" or whatever. When so many people get in a room it is very hard to know what order everyone is in and there are line jumpers. Vehicle was nice and in good condition anytime I ever rented at this location. Special shout out to Paige Oswald, she was very helpful and remained calm and pleasant even though several customers were clearly angry at the wait. read more

I went through Costco to get the best price. All employees were jovial and said Hi before I even got through the door. There were a few snags but corrected them promptly without any dismissal. Overall I was extremely happy with their service and professionalism. I will use them again and recommend them as long as they keep up the great customer service. Kudos. read more

I'm only writing this review because I keep getting e-mails from Enterprise, asking me to write a review on social media. Okay...but I think they might want to rethink that pestering policy. I wouldn't have bothered to write this otherwise. I'm giving two stars because there was nothing wrong with the car and the people in the maintenance department (had to bring the car in to have air put in one of the tires), were just lovely. My problem with this store is the appalling customer service (or lack thereof) at the rental counter. Both times I was in the store, first to rent the car and again to get help with the tire, all four of the customer service reps were complete asses to every single "guest" that they dealt with. Sarcastic, rude, downright mean...There was a manager on duty both times...and he seemed to be a nice enough fellow...but obviously held NO SWAY over the bunch of jerks he had working for him. Really a dreadful experience. Won't bother going there again. There's another shop not far from there I'll try. Because It's not Enterprise. It's that particular store. Steer Clear!!! She obviously did not want to drive me home. She made me load up the car again and return it to another Enterprise location that she said was closer to my address. It was not. The sales agent on the phone (Marly) was nice and professional. The fact they pick you up is convenient. That is the beginning, middle and end of the good stuff I have to say about Enterprise. I rented a car from this location in March to make one trip to the Tampa Airport and drop the car off at the airport. Renting a car for an airport run is cheaper than parking your own vehicle at the airport if you are going to be gone more than a couple of days. In any event, I rented a car and apparently the employee who parked the car I rented had rammed the back bumper into a tar covered telephone pole that was located directly behind the car. There was tar on the back bumper of the vehicle, which Marly noted on the rental form and said don't worry about it, it just looks like dirt. When I got to the Tampa Airport, the car was flagged at drop off for this 'damage' and I was escorted into the little glass booth office like I was a criminal. The agent behind the desk looked at my original receipt and told the check in clerk who flagged the car the damage was noted on my form so I was clear to go. Okay, fine. Cut to a month later and I get a letter in the mail from Enterprise Damage Recovery Unit stating the car I rented was damaged and they want my insurance company info. What kind of scam is this place running? I caused no damage to the crap car (that smelled like a wet dog, by the way) and it was never out of my possession to get damaged, it went from the rental location, to my driveway, to the highway, to the airport and was turned in. Other than stopping to get gas, there were no other stops. If was cleared at the drop off point, where does this company get off sending me a damage notice after the fact? I am not going to be providing any of my insurance information (which they would probably have on record anyway from my original rental), nor do I accept this claim of damage. If there was any 'damage' to this car, it was caused by their own employee trying to back the car into a space that had a pole in it and the employee ramming the car before I even touched it. I did an internet search on 'Enterprise damage scam' and found a lot of other reports of this same kind of scam tried on other consumers. Don't be a victim! Any miniscule scratch, dent, whatever, have it documented on your original contract before you get behind the wheel. Take pictures, take pictures when you drop off the car. It is ridiculous that this company is trying to get a damage award out of me when they already cleared this car at return. I caused no damage and I will not be paying for any damage claim. This company can suck it and suck it hard because this is just some kind of lame attempt to extract more money out of their customer base after the fact. Ain't gonna happen. read more

Unacceptable service and product. While my vehicle was being repaired, I needed to rent a car and this location is the only one that partners with my repair shop. After booking a full-size sedan, an enterprise employee brings me a beat-up, smoked in, dirty and dog-hair filled Nissan Sentra to the repair shop. The employee asked me to digitally sign the typical documents including the "no smoking, no pets" agreement that was clearly not followed. He was rude when I politely asked about any other options, so I decided to drive the car back to the location for an exchange. I was greeted by an angry employee who embarrassed me in front of other customers by telling me that it was the only car they had available and randomly stated, "the car you get doesn't matter based on what you drive... you could drive a Mercedes, BMW, whatever, and it doesn't mean you get a better rental car..." Well obviously... but that was random. I drive an older base model CTS and never even told her that but she made it sound like I was a snob when I told her the car was obviously smoked in and had dog hair all over. When I asked if she could check for availability at another location, she smiled real big and said that because my repair shop was partners with them, I was "stuck" with her. So I drove off in the Sentra full of nicotine stench and pet hair and decided to write this review. I typically do not write bad reviews, but I felt like this would help somebody avoid the mess that I was in. I would give them a zero star review if I could. The gentleman, Who looks like he could be a manager, that took care of me was just standing there staring at me. I said oh are you ready for me? He said yeah but he never said welcome to enterprise how can I help you? Nothing like that. Then I when I got there I explained the situation that I was having and I needed a car immediately and that I left Hertz to come to come to them even though I got a better deal it at Hertz. He said he could not rent a car to me because I live in Palmetto and that office is in Bradenton which sounds like total BS to me he didn't make any accommodations or offered to help me in any kind of way. He didn't try to even be apologetic and he said we typically try to rent within our own area so he said I had to go to the other place knowing that they close in less than 45 minutes and I might not make it thanks a lot a-hole!!! I have a corporate account with the company as well he didn't seem to care about that but I certainly will be letting our corporation that uses Enterprise nationwide for all of our business trips know about the service I received there. shame on him.
