Quick note about this place. I picked up car on a Friday last week before thanksgiving Jessica took care of me. Never have I felt so comfortable. Very nice girl. Gave me a larger car then I had reserved. When I brought the car back after a misunderstanding with Another employee Matt. He handled the situation and handled it the way I being in customer service would have taken care of it. Always try and remember The costumer is usually right. If I could give this branch -0 stars I would. I have State Farm Ins. & they directed me here for a rental while my car is being repaired. I picked up a rental that was not only filthy dirty but I smelled like someone spent the night inside it & was smoking marijuana or stink weed. At first I though it was skunk but it got worse & I realized it was the smell of drugs. Also I was given a car with no gas, the red light was on on the dash & I was lucky to make it to the gas station. I returned it & refused another car as I had put $25.00 worth of gas & I could not drive the car. The Assistant & Branch Managers are nothing but paper pushers & pass the buck. I had to complain to State Farm & Enterprise but I do not know if I will ever see my $25.00 in gas. How can a legitimate business send out cars that lack cleanliness & gas to paying customers? In addition, how can they require that we sign a contract & take a $50.00 deposit for a nasty car? read more

The experience (or lack there of) that I have had with this location today has been beyond unacceptable. I made a reservation on Monday evening for vehicle pickup Tuesday morning. On Tuesday morning I received a phone call that the type of vehicle I reserved was not available for a morning pickup but would be on site by early afternoon. I rearranged my obligations to accommodate this change in timing-but received no communication from the location throughout the day. I contacted them at 4pm to check on the status and the first gentleman I spoke to first told me they were hopeful a vehicle would be there by 6pm and then told me a vehicle would be available tomorrow. When I then asked who else I could speak to as this experience was unacceptable the manager then informed me no cars are available until Thursday. I cannot fathom how a company would allow you to make a reservation for something that is not available. Beyond that to basically be told sorry, sucks to be you we have no options for you and we can't help you is deplorable. I can tell you that based on this experience I will never be renting from enterprise again and beyond that will be sharing the same advice with my friends, families, colleagues and even enemies because I would not wish this experience on anyone. read more

Same state driver's license in order to rent a vehicle from the location within that state is uncalled for. Being forced to put the rental on a major credit card for a non resident of the state that you're trying to rent the car from is also uncalled for. Renters beware... There's hidden fees behind this form of rental. I would not rent from enterprise under these conditions. read more

Update I changed my two star rating to one star. Why? Because 30 days later I see a $20.50 charge on my credit card from Enterprise for reason unbeknownst to me. When I called the office, the manager was clueless as to the reason but thought it may be for a toll. I found that ridiculous because I don't drive on expressways. Upon my further investigation, Enterprise charged me a toll administrative fee though I had not taken a toll. The guy in the violations department at Enterprise removed it but still, I am reporting them to the BBB for excessive false and inflatable fees. I caution you to read your paperwork and monitor your credit card, use a disposable card if you can so they can't add on fake fees months later. Pros Friendly, courteous service. Cons I reserved the size car I wanted two weeks in advance of when I needed it. The pick up date fell on a Friday before Christmas (which was seven days away). I didn't get the type of rental car I wanted, though I called ahead to ask, rather plead. I was told by the manager cars are given out based on who is in the store at that time. (So, what's the point of reserving in advance?!) Hence, I was stuck with a vehicle that was uncomfortable for the long road trip my family and I were taking. Not only that, but the vehicle was given to me with hardly any gas. I had to fill up the vehicle on a a cold, rainy, windy day. Not cool. The cars should be given out on a full tank of gas. Secondly, the car was white and it was very dirty. The manager said if I wanted to get a car wash they would reimburse me which they did. But, at this point, I had to stop for gas AND to also get a car wash. Not good service at all. Lastly, it doesn't appear that they throughly clean and sanitize vehicles before renting them out. The gentleman who dropped me off said he'd been ill with a severe cold and guess who and their entire family caught a severe cold/flu and was bedridden for two weeks beginning the day after the car was returned?! Me and my family. We hadn't had a cold or flu in twenty years. With all these cons I will not plan to return to this Enterprise rental car location. I suggest you consider an alternative location as well. read more

I wish there was a way to rate 0 stars. This location is beyond horrible. I've made two trips there in the past 3 days and got denied a car both times...with a reservation in advance. 1st rejection: I just moved less than a month ago so that means I Have a temporary drivers license. Enterprise gave me a hard time about that but later during my visit, they accepted it. Second problem(same visit). I was told that I needed a credit card which I don't have...or a debit card. I presented a debit card and I was then told that I needed 2 utility bills. Mind you, I just told them I moved to Carol stream less than a month ago, therefore I don't have any utility bills yet. That was 2 days ago. So I called customer service and they told me that my fiancé can use her credit card and rent the car for me with no problem at all. As long as we are both present at the time of rental, she would be able to rent it in my name. This is coming from the customer service rep. Second rejection/second visit today, not even 30 minutes ago Once again, wasting my time, I get denied the rental. The same location told me my fiancé would have to rent it in her name, and then add me for an additional $10 a day. When I spoke with customer service the day prior, I was told that this would NOT happen. I get it, anyone can say they are engaged or married. But for Christ sake, we have the same address on our ID's!!!! Called customer service again about 10 minutes ago, and this rep tells me the complete opposite of what the first rep told me 3 days ago. I rented a car here several weeks ago, nice friendly service until I received the car with the air conditioner already on in which I thought was thoughtful until I got it home and realized someone before I rented had vomited in the front passenger seat!!! They had to know this because the smell was awful!! Can't get their stories straight! I had a reservation for Friday evening. I called Thursday to let them know I was flying in Friday evening and I would be arriving right at 6 PM or a few minutes after. The person I spoke to said "no problem, we are always here a little after 6." I called again, from the airport saying I am on my way and I will be there just after 6. Again I received a "no problem" we will be here response. My father and I got there as fast as traffic would take us and arrived at 6:10. I was relieved to see there were indeed employees there AND the door was unlocked. I told the people behind the counter I was here for my car. I got "sorry we're closed and we can't rent any cars - the safe is locked." I get they had posted hours but when I call TWICE and I am told not a problem and I make my way ALL the way there only to be told no dice that is IRRITATING!!! My husband and I rented a 15 passenger van to travel from Chicagoland to Orlando with our family for Christmas. We made the reservation in July, so I was very surprised when we arrived that we got the "last 15 passenger van in the area". It looked like a work van, very dirty inside, and there was a lot of damage on the outside. The guys there cleaned it for us, and gave us a little off the amount, but I was sad to have to take it home for my family to see our ride. While we were driving, there was a loud noise in the front of the van which we thought at first was ice. Come to find out it was the bumper was rubbing on the tire. My husband had to buy a strap to pull it off if the tire. Then we were back on the road and the break light came on. The breaks smooshed to the floor, and then the light would turn off and they would be fine. We called roadside service who told us it was unsafe to keep driving, but they were unable to find us a vehicle. They said they could only call one place and we would have to call to try and find one ourselves. The guy said he would escalate it and have someone reach out to us to bring us a new vehicle and they never called. I reached out to Carol Stream and no one called me back. I called customer service 4 times and they all said that I would get a full refund and they were sending it to the district manager. I needed to wait for a call. No call! I called the Carol Stream office for 2 weeks and I finally got ahold of someone. He told me that all I could have was $400 back, but he would have his manager call me to approve the full refund. Guess what?? No call! Maybe someone will respond to this. read more

I unfortunately got into a fender bender and had to bring my car into a shop and needed a rental car. The insurance company had me go with Hertz first because "they get a deal with them" Well Hertz never picked me up from the car place after waiting an HOUR! I was able to contact the insurance company and with some arguing I was able to go with Enterprise. 5 Minuets after switching they were there to pick me up. After they picked me up I was in my rental in 15 mins. Matt H. was very nice and helped with getting out of there as soon as possible after he heard I was waiting so long. Thank you so much Matt you definitely made the day better! When I returned the car a few days later the drop off was just as easy as the pick up. I rented a car at this location, first I was given a car with a cracked windshield and cigarette smoke smell. Needed to return it, then when I got an upgrade which cost more.When I asked what time do I need it back by I was told it was a 24 hour rental. So I returned after hours on a Saturday, so I was THEN CHARGED ALL DAY Saturday and SUNDAY! Extra driver rates too.........I wasn't' even in town. Very unclear. Have rented here before with no problems, but this will be the last time I will rent from them. Too many other places available with better service and communication! read more

I recently dealt with this Enterprise location while having my vehicle serviced at the local Ford dealer. Everyone on their staff her was more than polite and professional. They were very efficient and took the time to explain all the details regarding the rental and billing. I was literally in and out within 10 minutes. I was given an almost brand new Ford Expediton. Easily the worst customer service I've ever had. I was not at fault in a fender bender so the other guy's insurance was paying for the car while mine was in the shop. I scheduled a pick up two weeks ahead of time, but on the day of they were 30 minutes late and only left the store AFTER I called to see where they were. Then, they didn't have my car ready, I ended up waiting while they cleaned it. By the time it was all over I was an hour late to work!! Then, they called me up two days later saying my credit card didn't go through for the deposit and would I please come back and swipe it again? They never asked for a credit card, they assured me insurance was handling everything! read more

Bring your camera to rent a car/van here. Take pictures of the ENTIRE roof, hood, sides, and rear of the vehicle and DO NOT sign their rental agreement before you, yourself, have thoroughly checked it out COMPLETELY. THEY WON'T PROTECT YOU. We rented a van for a half day on a Saturday just to pick up a couch and deliver it. We filled the tank and returned it uneventfully. On Monday we got a call that there was $1,200 in damage to the rear roof and that we have to pay for it. Even with SIX witnesses to affirm that nothing occurred, our insurance still had to cover this. We learned a very hard lesson that hopefully you won't have to. read more

I needed to rent a car for a work trip which had more room in the back for the things I was loading. I requested a midsize suv but they only had a smaller suv available. I was looking for something the size of a Ford Explorer not a Ford Escape. What I was loading was 5 1/2 feet long, the team helped me measure the back and found the best car for me which was a mini van =( all in all it got the job done and the team at this location was very helpful. read more

Waiting for the car to be dropped off I call because they are late and are told No Delivery no pick up!! So we take an Uber to get there. Then this guy had the nerve to pull up a car you inspect it dirty. No car wash and was Denied rental because I wanted to use my debt card and they wanted a utility bill to show proof of whatever. Even though we all know you can run the debt as a credit. They were so RUDE and told me to keep it professional after I swore with all the red tape they were putting me through. I really think this jerk did this on purpose because it was 10 minutes before closing time for them. One month earlier I had to rent a car and used Schaumburg Enterprise. 100% a 5 star rating. I denied comprehensive coverage for the car rental. Yet, the guy circled it and had me sign saying you are waving the comprehensive coverage. I returned the car and I got the bill saying I have been charged for comprehensive coverage. When I asked for the explanation, he says I explained it to you that you opted for comprehensive coverage. Nothing that I can do, as I gned and trusted the slimy sales guy. Be careful at every time you sign rental here. Do you due diligence as this rental car location cannot be trusted at all. I've learn my lesson to always call ahead of time and ask if they have any GOOD cars bc each time I've gone they never have anything but mini vans!!! Waste of time to go there and them telling you "if you can wait for later today?" No, my job books these reservations days ahead of time you would think they would at least reserve cars for those that have reservations. So once I waited and guess what? I had nothing but an awful experience at this Enterprise location and Enterprise in general. The day we were leaving for our trip, we went to pick up the car and they told us they did not have the car we reserved. The woman who helped me did not tell us this right away and instead told us that she would "upgrade us for free to an SUV." We said we would prefer the car we had previously reserved. She then admitted to us that they didn't have the car we wanted and that's why she offered us the "upgrade." We were 3 hours into our drive (in the middle of a highway) and the check oil light came on. We called the emergency help line and the guy told us we would need to get a new car but were basically out of luck because no place was open at the time. We decided to keep driving and the car ended up being fine but I called this enterprise location once we got to our destination. The manager that I spoke to told me that "they just forgot to reset the car" and treated me like I was scum. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never rent from enterprise again. I am beyond disappointed with enterprise PERIOD! I have rented many cars are in the past from other companies but enterprise had some great prices this time around so figured I'd give it a try. First our rental has to be picked up ALLLL the way in Roselle, THEN they tell us they need a current power bill or phone bill so we run home and have them transfer our rental to this location... Let me tell ya, we get there with our bill that says $85 and they say they can't take it because it has another amount on there of $110 (which we just paid a few days before) they stated "the bill has to be under $100 in order for you to rent a car" so we go BACK HOME to dig up the current bill online and PRINT it out. Now, may I remind you, it does not say ANYWHERE in the "rule book" about not being able to show a printed version of your power bill!!!! We get ALLLLLL the way back there and they say sorry can't take a printed version of your bill! WHY?! So guess what?! I had to tell my family I will NOT be coming to see them! Thanks Enterprise!! You have thoroughly ruined my plans!! I am beyond pissed at this point and will NEVER be renting cars from enterprise ever again! If I could give negative stars I would! read more

I rented from here and called ahead to say I need a ride when I returned the car back home on 11/30/2016. The person on phone told they were understaffed and hence I will not a get a ride back. When I went there, they arranged for rides to two other customers returning the car in front of me. Very disgraceful and discriminatory. In light of the less than stellar reviews I see below, I am happy to tell of my experience, and I can say that it was a flawless transaction from start to finish. Due to an auto accident, our car was getting body work done and our insurance company sent us here. They close at 6 pm, so I was pushing to get there after work, before they locked the doors, and arrived at around 5:50 pm. I thought that I'd already be inconveniencing them by arriving so late, but while I waited my turn, there were 4 other people who came in behind me. Jamie and Mike were handling customers at the counter, and were as pleasant and efficient as possible, and I never even saw the slightest eye-roll each time the door opened and someone else came in. And it was a Friday night - I'm sure these guys were anxious to begin their weekend! In the meantime, Hillary arrived to help out, and she wasn't even "on the clock" - she had only stopped by to give someone a ride. Jamie offered me a comfortable, big car, and although I was hesitant to drive something so much bigger than my everyday car, I didn't want to hold him up any longer. He went to get the car, and in the meantime the customer next to me was offered a VW Jetta. He said, "don't you have anything bigger?", and I half-heartedly offered to trade. That was no problem for Mike, and Jamie didn't bat an eye at amending my paperwork. Both of us left happy, with the right size car for each of us. I initially thought I would only need the car until mid-week the following week, but the body shop kept holding us up. A quick phone call to Enterprise and I was extended day-to-day - absolutely no problem. I would not hesitate to rent from these folks again, although I hope that next time it's for something more exciting than body work! read more

Absolutely horrible experience! I was in a car accident the day before I was moving and right before my honeymoon. When I picked up my rental car, I asked if I could call to cancel the extra insurance while I was away on my honeymoon. The lady behind the counter said yes, it's that simple. When I called, the manager told me that no one in his store would have ever said that. So now he's calling me a liar? I am a lot of things, but a liar, I am not! So I had to pay almost $200 extra because I couldn't make it back into the store to cancel it in person. Had I known I couldn't cancel over the phone earlier, I would have moved around my plans the day before I left. Upon my return, I called and asked if I could drop the rental off at a different location, because I had just moved to Elgin. The same girl said yes but that there would be an additional fee to drop off at a different location. I said ok, but forgot to ask how much that fee was. So I called back about an hour later to ask I was told that because I had a "specialty" vehicle that dropping off at another location was not allowed, and the guy said "Well she doesn't recall talking to anyone about dropping off a car." Seriously?! So whatever, I drove the hour to get to this location to drop off this car that now I'm out so much extra money and while I'm there I hear the guy behind the counter say that that same girl gave the wrong rental car to a wrong customer! Get your crap together and train your staff!!! I will NEVER rent from Enterprise again! read more
