Initially, we were told that it would be ready at 1:00 PM, but later they informed us it wouldn't be available until 3:00 PM. No apology or compensation was offered for this change. Regardless, we decided to arrive early and be on time. We got there at 2:30 PM and unfortunately had to wait until 6:30 PM -- a total of three and a half hours -- to receive the camper. To make matters worse, we were informed at the moment of pickup that the two kits we had added to our reservation -- the bedding kit (which included towels, sheets, pillows, etc.) and the kitchen kit (with plates, cutlery, glasses, etc.) -- were not available. They told us we would have to go to Walmart ourselves to buy all those items, because they "didn't have time" to prepare them. On top of that, the camper was damaged. They told us that the awning didn't work and that if we wanted one, we would have to buy it ourselves. The camper was also handed over with the toilet tank completely full, which we had to empty on our own. The water tank was not filled either -- they only took care of it after we pointed it out. Additionally, the generator failed to start on multiple occasions and only worked on the third attempt. This gave us no sense of confidence, and we left feeling anxious about potential issues during the trip. The staff were not friendly at all, and the service we received was far from professional. We felt neglected and poorly treated throughout the entire process. Our experience with this company was very disappointing. After having to go to Walmart to buy all the basic essentials that we were counting on, and after waiting over three hours to receive a damaged camper, we were unable to reach the campsite we had booked as our first stop. We had to spend the night in a parking lot in Chicago, which was a complete disaster. We are extremely dissatisfied and will not book with this company again, nor will we recommend it to others.

Service only: in the last year, 83RV has lost a large number of their service technicians and…read moreservice manager. Prior to this unfortunate set of events they were top notch. Now communication and service is unreliable and terrible. On three separate occasions in 2025 I made appointments for service on my Coachman Galleria, only to learn they 1) forgot the appointments were reserved 2) kept the van for over three weeks without even looking at it, nor communicating with me the challenges they faced. In one case they made some repairs to the awning motor/ sensor which kept opening on its own. Less than a month later we find the problem has returned and they 1) still don't know what is broken/wrong 2) proposed charging me $600 a second time - even though the first solution didn't solve the problem. I can understand why service manager Brett, seems overwhelmed. But he simply does not communicate and provides flippant answers that are unconvincing or not fact based. Until they improve staffing, I recommend you stay clear of the service department.

Bob was very easy to talk with and truly cared about our questions . He answered all of our questions with. A smile on his face which help us feel more confident and comfortable picking out the unit we purchased. We agreed on a time and a date to pick up our new trailer and went through a 3 hour orientation with a another person who was also very nice and answer all of questions with a smile on his face I like to think that we have have made a friend with Bob at 83RV . I would highly recommend stopping buy to look at what they have available, knowing that they will treat you politely and not push anything to you , you do not want or need.

A Truly Exceptional Experience at General RV in Huntley!…read more We recently brought our Grech Class B RV (Sprinter Van) in for a warranty repair and could not be more impressed with the outstanding service we received. From the moment we arrived, the entire team at General RV in Huntley went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating--every step of the process felt easy and stress-free. We were traveling with our three dogs, and not only did they allow us to keep them inside with us, but everyone there made a point to stop and say hello (and give some pets!). It truly felt like we were among family. We were even able to take important work calls thanks to the comfortable environment. And the little touches made a big difference--fresh-baked cookies, pizza, filled fresh water tanks, and even letting us stay overnight while waiting for parts to arrive. The facility itself is neat, clean, and welcoming. It's rare to find this level of hospitality and genuine care. We adore this location and will absolutely be back. Thank you to the entire team at General RV Huntley--you've earned lifelong customers!

There is a clear and ongoing issue with the service department. I own a 2023 Fleetwood Bounder, purchased new from General RV Huntley. After just 1200 miles, I brought it in for service about four months later, and a new transmission was installed. Since then, the vehicle has been returned for repairs numerous times. Each visit results in weeks of wait, and most repairs are poorly executed. My coach was brought in again in early April 2026, and as of today, May 23, 2026, it remains there. I was told a part needed to be ordered, and communication has been appalling. I leave messages, send texts, and even show up in person to speak with my service advisor--who, by the way, has changed eight times since I bought the coach. The dealership changes advisors and techs at an alarming rate. I should have heeded the negative reviews before purchasing from General RV. Matt, the service foreman, is the only consistent staff member who understands what needs to be done. The lack of leadership and accountability is unacceptable. Overworked advisors struggle to retain qualified technicians. I sympathize with Matt, but the overall management is severely lacking.
