The staff at the Cedar Rapids Airport Enterprise location are very personable, and I've consistently had great interactions with them. Customer service has always been friendly and professional, which I truly appreciate. My only ongoing concern is vehicle availability. I rent from this location at least once a month, typically for two-week rentals, and I always select all the premium options. However, I frequently do not receive the vehicle class I reserve and often end up with a smaller vehicle than requested. I've mentioned this several times, but it doesn't seem to have led to any change. If you're flexible about the type of vehicle you drive, I'd easily give this location 5 out of 5 stars based on the staff alone. But if, like me, vehicle size matters--especially when traveling with children and needing adequate space--you may want to consider a larger branch with more consistent inventory. read more

I booked an emergent car rental due to unexpected break down of my personal vehicle. When I got to the location I was told there were no cars available. I was stranded with no way to get home. i don't understand why you can't call a store directly to get availability. Total waste of time. No customer service. Was told that the online and phone reservations people shouldn't make reservations. When you google them the only number you get is a reservation agent. read more

I rented a VW Taos (Compact SUV) during my last trip in Iowa. I took possession at the Cedar Rapids Airport and returned it there 5 days later. My journey led me to Ames, Des Moines, and Iowa City in-between. Costco Travel also gave me a decent price. Due to Consumer Reports ratings, I probably would not buy a VW car, although I still have fond memories of my old and sporty VW Scirocco. What I appreciated most about this car was comfort, power when I needed it, and the ease that my 97 year-old Dad could get in and out of the car. Gas mileage was decent and trunk storage was ample enough for my luggage and my Dad's walker. The Enterprise representative at the airport was courteous and efficient. No one was at their desk when I returned the car early Saturday morning, and the final bill was in my inbox within a couple hours of me dropping it off. I was also happy with the easy walk from the terminal to the car and straightforward return. read more

I would like to warn people not to use the Enterprise car rental at Cedar Rapids airport. I had a confirmed reservation that I was informed was canceled once I arrived at the counter. They made no attempt to email or text the cancelation to me. I was informed it was due to them running out of cars. I asked what I was supposed to do since I was stranded and needed to get to a funeral. They only repeated they were sorry. I was able to find an offsite rental agency that I could Uber to. The whole rental and Uber cost an extra $125.00. This is no way to conduct a business, I will definitely let others know! read more

Perhaps my best rental car experience ever. Walked up to the counter and less than 5 minutes later was walking out to the car with keys in hand. They gave me a choice of two vehicles and the one I picked was clean and perfect. It was located just a 2-minute walk from the airport door. Thank you Enterprise! read more

Horrible! I have used Enterprise all the time from home with no problems. I always used my debit bankcard with the charge card option up until being rejected here. The staff could care less about how I got home. Enterprise turned their back on me when I needed them most. They would take no other payment options, cash, check or someone else paying for my car rental purchase by phone. FU Enterprise. It will be a cold day in Hell when I use your services again. I remember bad treatment and will never give you the option of treating me poorly twice. I'm dismissing you just as easily as your Enterprise employee did me wrong. NEVER AGAIN. read more

This particular Enterprise is located at baggage claim in the airport. It is a very busy kiosk. I originally got in line before my bag came, got out of line to get my bag and got back in line and it hadn't moved. There were about 4 people in front of me with one cashier. She was doing her best being by herself. I finally got to the counter and met a very sweet and friendly young lady. She apologize emphatically for the wait which melted my heart so I cooled a bit...for a minute. After my transaction was completed, she told me that she had no keys and I would have to wait for someone to bring the next batch in. So she asked that I have a seat and wait. I watched as the next transaction took place and a new set of keys delivered. I watched, however, as the gentleman that was behind me was given a set of keys and left the area. As I was about to blow my top, the Enterprise attendant asked the next customer to wait while she took me my keys. She came around the counter and walked over to give me my keys. She again apologized and said that due to my wait she upgraded me. Since I rented a compact I expected a Malibu or something in an upgrade, but I was immensely surprised that I received a Cadillac (I hope I am not getting her in trouble) as my rental. What a sweet ride; thus, the 4 star rating. I'll be in the area again so I hope the wait is not as long...and that I get upgraded to another Cadillac. read more

Chris Johnson, who runs the fleet, went "above and beyond" to help me help a friend who had rented a van in Colorado and (for legal reasons he had no knowledge of) was incarcerated in Iowa City Now what happens to the van and all his stuff in it (did I mention he was moving)? Through Chris we coordinated me coming from KS, renting a trailer, transferring the stuff and getting back home in one day. And Chris had made sure the van was in a secured location the whole time! In February of this year I reserved a Chrysler Pacifica for June 23rd to July 2nd, 2023. I received a confirmation email from Enterprise. On June 19th, I called Enterprise to confirm that I would have a vehicle for that coming Friday at this location. Two times in the past I went to that location to pick up a vehicle, but ended up having to drive to a different location to pick it up. The gentleman I talked to confirmed that the van was at that location and would be ready for me to pick up at noon on Friday the 23rd. At 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning a gentleman called me and advised me that my Pacifica was no longer available; that the Cedar Rapids airport had come and taken all of the available vehicles. He asked me if we could take a mid-sized car instead. I informed him I needed the Pacifica because we had 6 people & a week's worth of clothing in luggage for 6 people, beach chairs, car seats for a 2 children, pillows, beach umbrellas, etc. I said he needed to find us a suburban, Yukon, even a 12-15 passenger van to accommodate us. He said he would see what he could do and would call me back at noon. At 12:15 I called him back & he said he didn't find any vehicles but there was the possibility that 2 vehicles could be returned from the airport. He said he would call me back at 3:00. I advised him that we live 45 minutes away from their business and asked if they were going to stay open for us to pick up a vehicle if it came in after or near 5:00 when they close & he said they would. Three o'clock came & went & still nothing. I called them back at that time & a woman answered the phone. She was aware of our situation & advised that the 2 vehicles still had not come back. I asked her what about checking with the Enterprise in Des Moines, Pella, Iowa City, Ames, Waterloo, Ankeny, and anywhere else. She said she would check & get back to us. In the meantime our daughter who lives in Ankeny called the Enterprise there trying to help us locate a vehicle; a lady who answered said they did have a vehicle. However, a very short time later, a gentleman called & advised that that was incorrect & that no vehicle was available. At 4:00 we called back to the Cedar Rapids location & were informed by the same woman that they were on the phone checking about the 2 vehicles from the airport & that she would call us back in 5-10 minutes. Guess what? Again we did not receive a call back so I tried calling them again at 4:30. No one answered the phone & when it went to voicemail, it hung up. I tried calling several more times with the same result. My wife & son tried calling on their phones & they could not get a hold of anyone either. We ended up having to take 2 cars which cost double the expense for gas. The 2 sales people should be reprimanded as they misled us into thinking we were going to get a vehicle and the airport should not be allowed to take a reserved vehicle. Enterprise never did call us back to even apologize or see what they could do to make it up to us. Needless to say, our family will never again go through Enterprise to rent a vehicle and we would highly recommend no else to rent from them either. James K. read more
