Then was told I'm on a waiting list after reservation was scheduled at 9 and pick up was at 10 am . Had to pay for a uber to come stand in the lobby to wait for a rental car . I had a very rude manager disrespect me today at the university city location. It's started was what I felt was a reasonable request. The type of vehicle I had scheduled a midsized, suv was not​ available, and the only other available car cost 10 more per day. So i asked if he he could honor the car rental price I signed up for. After booking different cars here before 7x, I came in excited about finally getting the 10% off weekend rate for a medium priced car. They only had two cars left on the lot-- one.really small.and the other was top tier, which cost a lot more. I asked for a manager because i figure he has the discretion to honor the px price. He didn't just say no. In a Kurt response, he says.you either pay the regular price for the higher vehicle or take the smaller one at its regular price or you can go somewhere else. I'm silently thinking, "whoa, that's kinda rude." I adk, is there a reason why he's prenting the option like that,he says you just booked this car today. Undertandably, i know they may not have the cars all the time. But he tells me it's my fault because I should know they need (48 hr avance notice to guarantee any specific car size, even if you book it online. Again, he arrogantly says, you can only take one of the two cars left at regular prices, or go find another car eslewhere.. Mind you, he knows I need a car right then and it's 20 minutes til they close and im the only remaining customer I ask if there any other options, thinking maybe they have some unclean cars in the back. He says, well,you​ come back tomorrow. Again, he knew I needed a car right then.​ After asking him if I understood him correctly, I asked for the contact info of his manager. He gives me the info. So I just say okay and switched the subject back to at least.getting in a car so i can travel out of state. Of the two choices, i reluctantly decide on the smallest vehicle. I pull out my drivers license and credit.card, he says, in a pay back tone, you know what. I've decided that I'm not renting to you period. I'm shocked. Then, he looks at his employees as if he's howing them how to hanlde someone who tries to complain against him and he says, "You can leave. I'm not renting anything to you." I was so embarrassed I accidentally left all my belonging on the chair. And had to return after hours to retrieve them. I know he probably thinks ill just go home upset, but i feel.sad for him.. because that is no way to treat enterprise customers. Terrible experience. read more

University Location-Charlotte, NC I reserved a Minivan to move my son home from college. I specifically asked for a min van because I needed to be able to remove the seats. When I arrived the morning of the move, I was told that the minivan was not available and the agent offered a different vehicle (not a minivan). I would have had to make 2 trips to move my son...and the college is over an hour away! I was very upset, and as I was about to have a heart attack right there in the office, a minivan pulled in. What started out a disaster, ended up working out....I had planned to give a terrible review, but this is why I did not..... The agents, Wayne and Jaida, were extra nice and made sure they got that van ready for me in record time. Instead of being rude and argumentative, they were respectful and pleasant. I appreciate that. Wayne apologized for almost giving me the heart attack. I was behind schedule but everything else about the move went smoothly. It seems that whoever had the vehicle before me, was late turning it in. I guess there is nothing the office can do about that (except maybe remind that person that the vehicle has been reserved and needs to be back on time?). When someone rents a specific type of vehicle, they expect that vehicle....I knew a minivan was the only vehicle I could fit my son's things in. If Enterprise had called or even sent a text and said that the vehicle is expected to come in late, I would have been fine with that. I would have adjusted my schedule and waited for the vehicle....and my blood pressure would not have sky rocketed. The worst place ever. They rented my wife a raggedy Altima with all kinds of knocks in the front end and shaking at 70 mph. And then said that I, her husband couldn't switch it out because she's at work. Despite the fact that I'm on the rental agreement. So my wife would have to leave work in Statesville just to come here and switch out that raggedy car. Absolutely dangerous to drive not knowing where that knock is coming from. Customer service was TERRIBLE! One of the managers told me one thing and next manager told me something different. if you have an out of state paper ID they claim they "don't take it". I was involved in a hit and run and had to rent a vehicle until my car got fixed. My insurance set me up with information to go to the enterprise in university. I asked for a ride from the repair shop to their office. Everything was fine until they didn't show up. When I called the lady was very passive aggressive they transferred my info to the concord location with properly explaining why. Then got an attitude when I asked for clarity. I rather go to the concord location anyway their attitude stinks. read more

Manager thinks she's the queen of enterprise first the person on the phone the day before says they can pick me up no issue. I call the next day and the manager says they can't pick me up because I'm too far out 15 mins instead of their 10 min pick up window. I made an appointment the day before and on the day of, while driving to pick up a car less than 15 minutes to my pickup time, I get a call telling me that they are sold out and they can accommodate me at 2:30 pm. I asked if he could check other locations around because 2:30 pm was way too far and he said all the other locations were also sold out. He made absolutely zero effort to help or try to help get a solution. I explained I really needed to have a car in the morning and he referred me to try the airport. I had no issues renting my vehicle. I forgot the name of the associate who assisted but she was courteous and professional. The inside of the car was clean but the power washer wasn't functioning at the time. I'd recommend getting that fixed asap. The drop off went smoothly and I even got a ride home. What a joke of an experience here. A company that can't even come close to delivering on the one solitary thing they're supposed to be capable of. I reserved an SUV on 3/16 and got a voicemail later while I was at work telling me that if I wanted to speed up the process I could call in ahead of time. I couldn't, so I showed up for my 9am reservation the next morning right on time. I told them my name and was told "We called you this morning to tell you we don't have the vehicle you reserved". I hadn't received a call that morning and later realized that one of the four employees was tirelessly calling all the 9am appts (at 9:05) to tell them not to come and asking them to be flexible. Rental cars are not a flexible thing for people. I asked if they had any SUVs and the response blew my mind. ONE car! That was in the process of being returned. One single car that was so small my head would've touched the ceiling. There was no "sorry", no attempts to give me help getting a car somewhere else. Now I'm out $45 on Uber costs to get to the place. I needed an SUV and all this place gave me was an attitude and a bewildered look as if this were my problem. I'm so sick of being treated like garbage by companies that aren't providing the service they're supposed to. read more

When called on phone, they said we could rent the car and have a guy with learner's permit as an additional driver. But when I go in person, the manager said we can't. This is absolutely absurd. I will never rent at Enterprise ever again. This is the second time I have had issues with them. The first time, I was discriminated against for being a military service member due to the issues they've had with them in the past. This time, it was not much better. I recently tried to rent a car to drive to DC for Christmas, and was once again brushed off because I attempted to pay with a debit card. Apparently the words 'debit card' translate into 'the apocalypse' for these guys. If you want to pay with one (instead of a credit card) you need to have an in state driver's license, pay stub, proof of insurance and a utility bill. Are you kidding me? Would you like my passport as well? Maybe a birth certificate or social security card? Blood sample? I proceeded to ask the employee over the phone if there was a way to grant an exception to the policy, because I could provide practically everything they asked for besides an in-state driver's license. My request was denied. So I took it higher (which was a challenge in and of itself, where is the customer service number to file complaints?). I first reached an associate who transferred me to a 'supervisor', who I then politely asked if I could express my concern about this policy before canceling my reservation. His response was along the lines of "no, not if it is about a global policy we have." So you're screening complaints now? I'm sorry, I did not realize I was not 'allowed' to complain about certain things. He proceeded to nonchalantly cancel my reservation without a moment's pause. Seems my business, along with my dignity, was not valued either. I gave it another shot and reached someone else. They took my information and informed me this particular branch would call me back. They never did. So I happily took my business to Budget, who does not have near as absurd of a policy. Enterprise, your policy is ridiculous for many reasons. One being - when is someone most likely to rent a car? When they arrive from a DIFFERENT state and need transportation, which means practically none of your customers will have in-state driver's licenses. Another reason - you already take a hefty deposit, so this should be enough to insure the car in the event of unforeseen circumstances. But you still want a credit card so you can charge an unlimited amount just in case? Absolutely excessive and unwarranted. If you want to verify my story, my confirmation number was: 1154831638. This is the second time that I have rented vehicles from the University City Blvd. location and each time I was greeted by super friendly staff who made me feel like a valued customer. My vehicle was ready and waiting and the entire process took practically no time. I had to extend the rental several additional days which was no problem once I called the office. The branch rental manager, Thomas Heafy, assisted me with the return of the vehicle was also very friendly, courteous and I appreciated his and the entire staff's wonderful customer service. Let me start by saying I'm a difficult customer, and Jo-Ann is absolutely fabulous. I'm a Commercial Realtor in the Charlotte area and late one night someone fell asleep at the wheel and hit my car at speed, badly damaging it. I had a client meeting later the next day and was angry, pressed for time, and thoroughly unprepared to rent a car. I was bounced around different enterprise shops and turned down one at a time. Finally I landed on Jo Ann, who got a piece of my mind (undeservedly). She assessed the situation, calmed me down and got to business. Long story short I left the lot in one of enterprises cars and am on schedule for my appointment. This has been the worst rental experience that I have had in my LIFE!!!!! This is by far the most mismanaged branch that I have ever dealt with. I have been trying to resolve a matter since Friday afternoon.I spoke with manager at this location named Matt who was very condescending and rude. No matter what I said or asked, Matt did not listen to respond to my concerns. He kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I asked for his direct supervisors number and left him a message this past Saturday. I have yet to receive a response from him. I am not on the phone again trying to make arrangements to return this rental. This is the fourth call where the system says that no one is available after about 4 minutes and disconnects. When I speak with someone at the reservations number, they indicate that I need to speak with someone at the local branch. This is ridiculous, frustrating and unprofessional. Once I return this rental is returned and I am done, I will not do business with with Enterprise again; even if it is an insurance claim! In the past, I have only rented from Enterprise...not any more. read more

Overall good experience. This is a busy branch so I had a slight wait, then the car I received was filthy. I was informed that I would be reimbursed for getting it cleaned myself. Having heard broken promises from establishments like this I was concerned. When I returned the car they reimbursed me and the total was less than originally arranged without the reimbursement. read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. This location, a true "hole in the wall" in the Hilton Lobby, is severely severely understaffed, poorly trained, and very apathetic to good business practice. Getting through on the phone to them entails a wait time of over 12 minutes each and every time I called. Even though I had a reservation paid for by an insurance company, I was required to pay a $30 deposit and then was charged $81 for liability insurance....both charges should have gone to the insurance company providing the car for me, but somehow I got charged ????? When I asked about these erroneous charges, was told they would be credited back to my checking within 7 days. It's now 15+ days later and no refund.....I'll NEVER use Enterprise again, whether it's by my own choice or it's being provided by someone else!! read more

I needed a cargo van to move and the staff here at enterprise in the university Hilton went out of there way to get one for me quickly. The price was right, and the van was perfect, a Dodge Ram 1500 van with tons of space that was actually kind of fun to drive. The staff (particularly Matt) was very friendly and helpful and I felt like they went out of their way to make my experience easy. read more

I'm not petty but, I was put in a different car because they didn't have what I originally rented, which was a standard or full size car. That was okay, they put me in a Cadillac that's considered a luxury car but I had to pay a little more and I believe I shouldn't had been charged the difference or anything, other then the original price, I mean it wasn't my fault that they didn't have what I originally pre order/paid for. read more
