First, I was greeted upon arrival. Scott was wonderful, helpful, and understanding when I had accidentally reserved a car at another location. I thought this would terribly delay me, but it didn't. They luckily had one available. I returned it within 24 hours and check out was seamless. I was very disappointed when I found out they don't allow personal cars on their lot for the day if you are renting, and wish that had been somewhere on my reservation. My email receipt never got to me, but a quick 3 minute phone call with Samantha helped me procure my receipt for my expense report. She was kind and friendly and patient and even waited on the phone with me to make sure I got the email.

Rent at Your Own Risk!!…read more One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.... My partner and I reserved an Audi A5 and confirmed our reservation the morning of pickup. When we arrived at the Uptown Charlotte Enterprise, we were told someone had already rented a vehicle under his name from the Shelby location. Employees led us to believe he may have been the victim of identity theft. Instead of investigating or contacting the Shelby branch, we were repeatedly told they couldn't help us. After personally contacting the Shelby Enterprise ourselves and calling my partner's father (Sr.), we discovered Enterprise had simply confused a father and son who share the same name. A quick comparison of their driver's licenses, dates of birth, addresses, and payment information could have resolved the issue. The employee with the dark curly hair offered more attitude than assistance. Rather than investigating Enterprise's mistake, she canceled our reservation because she claimed we were "yelling" after nearly an hour of trying to understand why we had just been told my partner's identity may have been compromised and that someone else had rented a vehicle under his name. To make matters worse, the Audi A5 we reserved wasn't even at the branch. The only Audi available was a Q3. Several employees refused to identify themselves when asked and were not wearing name tags, making it impossible to know who was responsible for the way we were treated. I documented the interaction with photos and videos. We left without a rental, delayed our seven-hour trip to a family reunion, and spent hours trying to resolve an issue we were told could only be resolved by a Regional Manager. Mistakes happen. Refusing to investigate them, canceling a customer's reservation, and leaving customers to resolve the problem on their own is unacceptable. My family trusted Enterprise to provide safe and reliable transportation. Instead, we experienced unnecessary panic, emotional distress, inconvenience, and complete disappointment. This was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with Enterprise, and one I will never forget. Rent at your own risk!!!

I am traveling from the west coast for a wedding and, to my surprise, there were no rental cars available at any of the major rental agencies. I checked EVERY single agency, even in the greater Charlotte area, not just the airport. Nothing on Expedia. So I searched Google maps for car rentals and, to my good fortune, found Montgomery Enterprise. Ms. Montgomery was an angel. She was so kind, personable and helpful. The rental rates were very reasonable. She even kept her office open after normal office hours just to accommodate me because of my late flight. She didn't have to do that and, in my experience, not many businesses these days offer that kind of service to their customers. Ms. Montgomery was warm, professional, welcoming and solution-oriented. If I could give more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. Thank you Ms. Montgomery! And I wish you and your family great abundance in every aspect of your lives.

I filled the gas tank on the way to the airport a few miles before our arrival, and they charged me at $9.98/gallon for 1/3 of a gallon deficit. Usually I use a different company, but Southwest offered me Bono's points to use Budget, and the price was slightly lower than the competitor. I won't be falling for that again.

Once I landed and checked the Enterprise app, nothing looked wrong, because it asked if you like to check in and start the pickup process. After talking to 3 representatives and waiting outside for over 3 hours, the district manager never called, as I was instructed they would. Stranded and cold.

The rental was $42.99 per day (for both me and the insurance company). I also kept the rental for three additional days at my own expense while I worked through purchasing a new vehicle. When I returned the car, I never received a bill. A few days went by so I reached out to get a copy of the final bill. To my surprise, I was charged $391.21 for my portion (3 days at 42.99, plus the taxes). They charged me $7.33 per day but couldn't explain the charge or breakout for the $7.33. When I questioned the first person, she couldn't figure it out and suggested I reach out to the Manager, Anthony. The next day, I called Anthony and we were on the phone for over an hour and he couldn't figure NOT explain the charges. I had $7.33 x 30 days. $42.99 x 3 days. Plus the taxes for 33 days. When I asked about it, the manager initially said it was the difference ($2.99 plus taxes). When I advised him nothing he is suggesting makes sense and nothing equals the totals the way he explained it, he said he would send an email to the accounting team so they can explain the charge. That was over week ago. I even asked him to include me on the email he sent so I could ask the questions I needed them to answer. He agreed to send it and include me...and I haven't received the email nor any further communication from Anthony. That was on 1/30/25. Additionally, there was damage to the vehicles. While they recorded the damage, they documented it to the driver side but the damage was actually on the left sign.

About the last think I wanted to do was deal with a rental car; but when we arrived William Barber, a very nicely dressed and groomed manager greeted us and when we introduced ourselves he knew that we were coming. The insurance company had arranged the car for us and all we needed to do was sign some papers and do a walk-around of our rental. Absolutely well run location and very nice people. It is located in a strip shopping center along Hwy 521 so it was rather odd to be in a very active, in and out, parking lot getting our car. I now understood why that particular strip center was always nearly full of cars. Many were part of Enterprise's fleet. Wife and I left commenting on how nice William was and how he probably is looking at a very positive succession plan within the company. Thank you, William.

To make sure everything was on track, I stopped by this location three separate times during the week leading up to my reservation. The night before pickup, I even took a photo showing the van was sitting on the lot. When I arrived at 8:00 AM the next morning for my scheduled pickup, the van was gone. Sarah, who identified herself as the manager, simply apologized and said there were no replacement vans available anywhere in the region. There was no proactive communication, no meaningful solution, and no effort to honor a reservation that had been confirmed for months. She didn't even have a business card to provide. A confirmed reservation should actually mean something. This experience caused unnecessary stress and completely disrupted my plans. Avoid this location--and based on my experience, I'd think twice before trusting Enterprise with an important reservation.

I rented from Enterprise last week and it was one of the worst rental car experiences I've ever…read morehad. First, I waited over an hour and a half just to get my car after arriving on time for my reservation. When I finally got to the counter, the employee was rude and acted like I was inconveniencing them. The car they gave me was filthy inside -- crumbs everywhere, sticky cup holders, and it smelled like old fast food and cigarette smoke. The exterior had multiple dents and scratches that weren't noted on the paperwork. When I pointed it out, they told me "that's how it is" and rushed me through. To top it off, the car broke down on the highway two days later with a check engine light and loss of power. I had to sit on the side of the road for almost 3 hours waiting for roadside assistance that they promised would be there in under an hour. When I called to complain, customer service was defensive and unhelpful. Save yourself the headache and rent from literally anyone else. Enterprise has completely dropped the ball on service, vehicle quality, and basic reliability. Zero stars if I could. Never renting from them again.
