The word marvelous is just an understatement of how I feel each time we pick up a vehicle from this establishment. Each employee we deal with always exceeds our expectations on our vehicle needs and so forth. Patel was the first person we dealt with and I forgot to do the survey for him, however this is one 5 star employee when it comes to accommodations for us. The cars are always clean and smell nice, plus we are always greeted with smiling faces and feel welcomed each time we walk in. Avoid at all costs. I have been an Avis customer for several years both personally and corporately. Over this time I have spent thousands of dollars, passionately advocated for them, and overall been happy despite the unpleasant nature of the car rental experience in general. Unfortunately, I will no longer be working with them nor will any company I influence after my recent experience of being charged $450 for a cleaning fee which is over twice the average cost of a full detail and THREE TIMES THE COST OF THE RENTAL FOR THE WEEK ITSELF for pet hair in 2 of the 3 back seats and floorboard. I offered to clean this myself after seeing the charge but was refused despite their corporate office approving this when I called them to dispute the charge (as directed by the manager of this location herself). My wife was t-boned by another driver (they were at fault) which totaled our shared vehicle. Thankfully she was not harmed seriously but now we have no car. I rented a car from Avis to drive up to a family gathering and medical appointments we had in Dallas. We brought our dog and folded down one of the seats to carry things so the middle and back right seat were exposed to his hair. We got back late from this after already having to extend a day so I rushed to return the vehicle before 6pm. I debated keeping the car an extra day and lint-rolling it just to be safe but have done similar trips with Avis cars before so figured I would at most receive a nominal fee. Instead, I woke up to an almost $700 charge at an already very difficult time for my family and I. When I called the local Avis location the manager said she couldn't help but I could call the corporate number. So, I did and they said I could request it come clean the seat myself with a lint roller which I have done a million times before on my own vehicles and takes maybe ten minutes. So, I called back and was told she would need to ask upper management. She called me back almost 8 hours later to tell me she had only just now been able to speak with them and sadly they were going to just send it to detail and would not work with me on it. On top of this, I had the car for 5 days and they charged me for a whole week then refused to give me the car back for the extra two days so I could clean it an avoid being charged a half thousand dollars. This is the type of treatment you get as a "preferred" member. Save your money and yourself the trouble and go use a Toro. From a general standpoint, this particular Avis is very poorly ran and depressing to be inside. I have only ever seen that one manager working there at all at the front desk regardless of how busy the place is. Every time I go in it seems I see another customer losing it because of some perceived grievance and thought maybe these folks are just difficult to deal with and cause problems. Now I know better. This shop is an assembly line of dinky cars (my wife and I have only liked 1 of the cars [mazda 5] we got from here), overworked employees, and pissed off customers. If you have any snag in your experience they will juice you for all they can.

While driving on…read moreBeach Road (a city street) in Port Aransas I had to turn into a parking area to avoid city construction equipment. The rented vehicle became stuck in sand. I called Enterprise whose recovery people told me it could take 72 hours to send assistance. It was agreed I would leave the vehicle. 3 days later Enterprise told me they recovered the vehicle undamaged, but accused me of abandoning their vehicle. Which was not true as I left with their permission. And, have refused to do any further business with me. While business disagreements can occur I don't like deliberately false accusations. My advice is to be very careful when renting from Enterprise and document every interaction. All turned out well as Progressive Insurance saved the day by arranging another rental through Hertz. A lady named Lisa from Enterprise reached out to me about this review and asked I go to their webpage to leave my rental agreement number and contact info., which I did. After spending 10 wasted minutes with "Pearl the Chatbot" I gave up.

I rented from another agency who would not serve me without a mask. I had lost mine and that agency said they did not have a disposable one to give me. The Enterprise staff helped me out so that I could be on my way even though I wasn't renting from them today. This is one of many reasons I pick Enterprise!
