First of all, we made a reservation 1 month prior to needing the vehicle, we reserved a luxury SUV. On the day we went to pick up the vehicle, the manager was arrogant, condescending and downright racist. This was unfortunately our 2nd time renting from this location (our last time), the first was not the greatest but the manager at that time made an effort to make amends. After making a reservation 1 month in advance, showing up early we were offered a Jeep Wrangler as a luxury vehicle (THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS MAKING A TRIP FROM NEW YORK TO FLORIDA IN THAT VEHICLE). If I could give negative stars I would, this experience was very unprofessional and THE WORST MANAGER EVER. read more

BLUF: Very good customer service, adequate vehicles. I rented two vehicles from Enterprise Rent-A-Car for 10 days, mostly subsidized by insurance. My auto repair shop has an arrangement with Enterprise where customers can be picked up from the auto repair shop to reach this Enterprise rental location; and where customers can return their rented vehicle to the auto repair shop once repairs are completed to the customer vehicle. Otherwise, Enterprise offers pick-up within 2 miles of their location. Both cars I rented from Enterprise had been driven under 30,000 miles, but both were abused by prior customers. The first car I rented was previously rented by a smoker, even though Enterprise's key fobs clearly have "no smoking" signs attached. The entire car, including the trunk space, reeked of residual cigarette smoke. While the odors could be somewhat mitigated with strong air conditioning, the odors were suffocating if the car was turned off with windows closed for more than a few minutes. I exchanged the first car for another at my earliest opportunity, but this took awhile since this Enterprise location has relatively limited hours -- closing at 5:30 PM on weekdays, 12 PM on Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays. The second car was fortunately smoke free, but the bright beige seats were heavily stained by liquid spills. This issue was merely cosmetic and did not affect our driving experience with the car. There is an inconsistency to Enterprise's inventory. While the first car wasn't equipped with an E-Z Pass (for wireless toll collection), the second one was. Customer service at Enterprise is very good. I was in and out both times in less than 20 minutes. The customer service representatives were bright, cordial, and friendly. Enterprise places a $300 security hold on one's credit card for rentals. While I would consider Enterprise Rent-A-Car for future rentals where function is more valued than form, I would strongly consider Sixt for significantly better maintained vehicles and more convenient location hours. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION -- misleading practices and unexpected charges. We rented a car through the at-fault driver's insurance (Progressive) after a no-fault accident. The employee, Alessandro, showed us several SUVs and assured us multiple times that they were "100% covered" by insurance. We chose a RAV-4. A week later, we were hit with unexpected charges and were told by Enterprise that Progressive only covers a sedan. We returned to the location, and Alessandro again insisted everything was covered. Yet more charges appeared, and when we returned the SUV after being told it had been sold, Alessandro suddenly reversed his story and said we owed money--but claimed he would "fix the rate." A month later, we were charged $241 for the SUV rental that he had promised was covered. When we called, the manager, FRANK, was extremely rude and dismissive, repeatedly telling us to "call Progressive" and refusing responsibility for misinformation given by their employee. He provided no help, no accountability, and claimed complaints go nowhere. We have now filed a formal complaint with Enterprise's call center, but there is no timeline for resolution. Bottom line: this location misled us, charged us for their own errors, and treated us unprofessionally. Avoid this Enterprise--they will give you the runaround. read more

EDIT: I don't know it says San Francisco, CA under my name. I am in Queens, NY. I had a great experience renting from this location. I needed a minivan for Christmas Eve and I could not find a single place that had one. This location saved my butt. They didn't have a minivan either at first, but two of their employees (Ebony and James) jumped through hoops to procure one for me. I ended up having to wait a little while for this, but considering it was the holiday and I had no other options, and these two were incredibly polite and professional, it was well worth the wait. Strong recommendation for anyone who needs a rental from the area to go to this spot. read more

Enterprise does not honor reservations PROBLEM #1 Enterprise reservation was created on November 29, 2020. This was 19 days in advance. The reason why we reserved a van 19 days in advance, was because we were RELYING on receiving what we ordered. We went through the steps for a "quick" check in: entered credit card information and driver's license data. Enterprise did not honor our reservation. This was a show of gross negligence and disrespect for the time we took to create the reservation. PROBLEM #2 The pick up was reserved for 12:30 PM and my dad left Enterprise at 2:50 PM. This was a TWO HOUR setback on a nonexistent reservation. We were unpleasantly surprised that Enterprise not only did not have our vehicle, but they had no type of similar vehicle to even offer us! We reserved a van 19 days in advance. They offered ridiculous substitutions such as a Chevy equinox, amongst a few other subpar vehicles; all UNFIT for the job that needed to get done. The vehicles that enterprise offered us were inappropriate for what we needed and for what we reserved 19 days in advance with credit card and drivers license information. Eventually, we were given a Nissan Armada which was not what we ordered but there were NO other options. As a result of this, many of the items that needed to be transported in the van we reserved had to be thrown out. Heartbreaking and a waste of money. PROBLEM #3 The mid December nor'easter had just blasted New York with snow. The enterprise reps were aware that the rental was to be used for a trip to Oneonta, New York where there had been 29 inches of snowfall. My father politely pointed out that the tires of this Nissan Armada were visibly bald. The reps denied what was blatantly obvious and my father was in a position where he needed to take the vehicle because Enterprise set us back two hours behind schedule and there were NO OTHER suitable vehicles. Thus, we were stuck with the lesser poison. Although the roads in central New York had already been plowed, the ground was still slippery. The Armada was supposed to have all wheel drive, as the rep stated. Later it was discovered that the vehicle was rear wheel drive. The vehicle was an absolute nightmare driving around with bald tires, slipping up and down the Oneonta Hills. The bald tires of the vehicle was a dangerous hazard, especially in icy conditions. It was negligence of the reps to push that vehicle on us knowing that the tires were bald. PROBLEM #4 During the drive upstate, the windshield became dirty with debris, which is common. When my father tried to wash the window he was horrified to find that instead of windshield washer fluid, the vehicle was loaded with simple tapwater. The water froze immediately upon dispensing, blocking the my dad's vision. It took several minutes to melt away using the window defroster. This was a cheap move by enterprise and a dangerous hazard. Windshield washer does not immediately freeze the way water does. This was gross negligence by Enterprise to fill a car with water instead of windshield washer fluid in the winter time! OUR ONLY SAVING GRACE At the Flushing location of Enterprise, the only saving grace was an employee named Caroline. She went above and beyond to try to alleviate an already terrible situation. Caroline is the only reason I don't give this Enterprise one star. However, as good as her skills are in guest recovery, the combination of the bad experience both in-store and with the vehicle itself cannot make up for what happened. I write this review so that maybe change can be made and better, safer, client experience can be conducted for future customers. VEHICLE RETURN Upon returning the car, I showed the rep who received the vehicle the bald tires. He once again denied that they were bald and blamed the negative experience on the snow conditions of central New York, "It's no joke up there." Maybe so, but the tires ARE bald, I told him. I even showed him how the Armada tires failed the penny test and are VISIBLY bald; penny or no penny! He refused to acknowledge that the tires were bald. The rep made up a lie of how the gas tank was under and told me that for my troubles he wouldn't charge extra. Little did he know that I had a before and after photo of the gas level. Aware that the gentleman was lying, I politely thanked him and left. I did not wish to have any more nightmare experiences with Enterprise. read more

My tire got a flat no spare. Road side assistance at 3pm did not put the order in for tow or Uber waited until 3:45 called back only to find out it wasn't done. Waited more to be able to swap out vehicle called again they told me to take the Uber and tell the location where the keys were. So I did that. Got to this location All the agents sitting around not even coming to the counter. Then it was like they all picked who was up to take care of the customer. I got Jason Brown and explained the situation. He told me that he couldn't swap out the car until tow truck got the vehicle. Contacted tow company he managed to get to the vehicle at 5:55pm. They close at 6pm. Once the tow truck has the vehicle they and it's in their possession they can swap out the car. Happened to me before in FL the tow truck driver spoke to the manager said other locations do it all the time. That he works for them as well. Manager Kevin Li refused to swap out the car claiming it has to be at one of their authorized places prior to swapping out the vehicle. Lies laziness and just unprofessional when the road side assistance told me they could. Awful service bad attitudes sitting around getting paid to do nothing. Worst customer service ever. The only person that seems decent in there was a female. Do not rent from them go somewhere else. Worst experience ever. Now I have to go back in the AM. The staff are helpful and courteous. That being said, I had a reservation for a car and had to wait for over one hour as they did not have a car for me. Seems like reservations are meaningless. They say they sanitize the car before giving it to you. I guess the 2 Clorox wipes they give you is their sanitizing process. The car was definitely not cleaned before they gave it to me. Had a reservation, they had no cars... Happy was upbeat and helpful but I still left without a car. Other female was on her phone texting while we were there, offered some suggestions. Then she wound up laughing with a co worker in the parking lot in a vehicle (again, no vehicles to rent). Another couple came in, seniors, and there was nobody there to help them. The floors were very dirty; looked like a club where nobody cleaned up; garbage on floor, cups, bottles, trash overflowing. Their computers were down all day so there's really no excuse to clean up. Not sure what happened to this place, it was a 5 star location in the past, but no longer. Reservation was made, location had more staff bumping into one another at the end of the day then there were customers in the location when I walked in at 4:50pm. I waited a half hour and as I was sitting next to door I can hear a vacuum going for 15 min. I found out this was my car. I also got a great opportunity to hear the staff interact with one another, some interesting conversation about other staff. Two front tires were almost bald, car smelled (reeked) of smoke, and a small crack in front windshield is how my car came out. The woman , who appeared in charge (pregnant)said I could use a SUV, but at $3+ a gallon I said no way as I had to head out to long Island. No other vehicles in my size (Toyota camry) were available. Returned the car next day and even with all the issues with car I saw them put a customer in the car to give them a ride to their destination. I was given a 10% coupon for my next rental. I decided to wait outside for a ride home from enterprise as it was extremely warm inside the location. This is where I heard more interesting conversation how a certain employee does not like air conditioning (so much for customer comfort) I always ( the last 8 years ) get a ride back, this time the gentleman who drove me said I was lucky, they are not supposed to drive this far. So for 8 years I have been lucky? His driving was a little agressive as well, but that didn't bother me, I was happy to be done with them. read more

I got here at the appointed 7:30AM and the guy told me that the van is not here yet and there would be a 15-20 minute delay due to traffic. In 10 days I had to turn in 2 cars. My first rental a Jetta, the transition light came on. I picked 3 other possible cars in the lot to replace it and each one needed some sort of maintenance so he couldn't give it to me. He kept trying to get me to take a mustang which does not work for a 60 something woman. After I insisted, he finally gave me the Jeep at the rate I paid for the Jetta. After about 3 days the check engine light came on and it began stalling out. The guy who helped me made light of the time I wasted having to come back and forth and only apologized after I expressed my displeasure with his dismissive attitude. I'm now stuck with a Chrysler Mini Van. We'll see how that goes. Bad customer service and they don't maintain their cars. An all around bad experience. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise for years. I moved close to this location about a year and half ago. Of all the Enterprise locations this one has the best customer service. The General Manager Caroline, Cecil and the rest of the staff always do a great job. Also the cars are always clean. We were late, so we were ultimately responsible, but I think it's clear that they should make the last reservation 12 or 12:30 if they close at 1. Or maybe give us a courtesy call to let us know that we can't reserve a car if we are a few minutes late. The guy who turned us away was rude and short with us. I needed a rental car after being involved in an accident. My first time there, I thought the manager, Matthew, and the worker Christina had extremely great customer service. However, after returning my car, I realized how they have horrible customer service. Geico was taking care of my bill but enterprise charged me $200 for an additional insurance fee that I was unaware of. Christina failed to explain that to me when I first got the car and failed to tell me it would not be covered by Geico. Once explaining that to the manager, he was nice enough to waive the fee. However a month later, I noticed it was never refunded back on my credit card. So I called them only to have the manager tell me he doesn't recall this and will call me back after looking into it. He never called me back. I don't appreciate doing business with people who make false promises and who deceive their customers. I will not be coming back here and I will not be recommending this place to others. read more

Called Wednesday to the number for the northern blvd location for a pickup at 10-11am. The lady rep said they have appts then and best to do 930am. I gave the lady rep my mechanic location for pickup since its difficult for me to get to their location on northern blvd after dropping off my vehicle. They said sure no problem see you at 930am. I get to my location and drop off the vehicle at 930am and noone is there to pickup. I wait another 15 minutes and called into the same number i originally dialed and the gentleman say they dont do pickups there but ONLY at Elmhurst... WTF...!?! Now im upset.. im standing at the corner of a busy intersection with car, trucks, planes passing all around me.. how lovely... After some back and forth of me speaking my mind and this guy from enterprise blaming the FAIL on their customer service, the guy said he'll call the manager of the office on Astoria Blvd. Guy comes back and said "she will call me shortly to schedule". 10 minutes pass by and nothing. I call the office on Astoria Blvd. she said she got the msg but wont have anyone available for at least 20 minutes.. i asked why did she not call me to tell me that?? I asked the manager why didnt the Northern Blvd location come back me up and she said the guy there told her its out of his way... WTF!?!?... I call the Northern Blvd location and asked why couldnt he just pick me up? Its actually easier to get to my current location from where he's at. He said its not that he doesnt want to do the pickup but that he needs to respect other offices' territory.... Ok.. i understand that but still... WTF?!? Lovely way to waste my time and have me do the legwork in setting this pickup... After some more back and forth of me expressing myself the guy said he needs to get the OK to pick me up.. he got the OK and now tells me its going to take 15 minutes or longer depending.. WOW..... Im waiting around and i get a call at 10:53 from a young lady telling me shes at my location but doesnt see where the shop im at is.. Its a gas station on a corner so its difficult to miss.. but turns out shes not even near my location.. seems she was given the wrong address.. young lady says she'll be about 5 minutes.. im giving her 10.. its currently 10:59am.. let see.. So its been 1.5 hrs and i dont have a car. My meetings have been changed, im doing work on my cell and now have 27% battery left.. Ill be back with an update :) read more

This Branch was filthy had to wait in Waiting Room the windows were gross, The office was a mess. Then a very nasty Women named Haydee proceeded to take me to a car. This car was all scratched up with black marks on the front and marks on the rear. When I took pictures cause there is no way I am being charged for that she got nastier. I drive the car 5 miles home, only to try the car the next morning and there was some major problem with it. I guess they do send out wrecks. I would never recommend this location again it was an abomination, gross and so was Haydee the enterprise employee. She either needs anger management and basic interpersonal skills. This is the WORST rent-a-car I have ever been to. My mom needed to rent a car for work so I went with for moral suppport. She wrote her name down on the wait list upon entering and took a seat. Little did we know we would soon experience some of the worst customer service known to the history of man. There was only one orange-haired girl behind the counter "helping" a cat-lady and her friend. I was unaware Enterprise provided financial counseling for your mobile telephone contracts with every car rental. Orange head and the cat lady stood for literally ten minutes discussing their rate plans and what each paid for texting. The comparison was followed by a five minute debate on who's service provider was better and why. I believe Verizon won. Neither my scoffs nor my loud sighs of annoyance could distract them from their in depth conversation. For the 15 minutes I listened to them while they talked, I hated cat lady and co. It appears we caught the entire Enterprise staff at a bad time for the three or four people who were sitting at desks behind the counter were either eating or simply too busy to be bothered to help. No one even looked our way or at least lied and told us they'd be with us momentarily. FINALLY, a young guy came out from some back room or outside or something. He was helpful and moderately efficient. My mom got a spanking brand new Ford Focus..new car smell and everything. After what seemed like a torturous eternity we were on our merry way. (As a result of our little Enterprise visit I am experiencing high blood pressure and possibly a growing ulcer). Cat Lady and fire crotch were STILL in the parking lot when we left, blocking the exit of course. The people of my generation worry me. Seriously. Fire crotch represents a vast majority of people my age who don't know what the fuck is going on in the world. They have no manners, no education, no people skills, nothing. With people like her running around, I almost rather live during the era of McCarthy where people were at least scared into acting right for fear of being blacklisted. Perhaps the Obama administration should consider tough love with a side of McCarthyism as way to guide our youth. God help us all. read more

I went there at 1:30 waited tell 1:45 two workers in the back were just sitting and talking while one gentlemen was doing his work. One person was just on the phone. The gentleman said I'll be with you but was talking about how there New Years went very horrible services here don't waste your time. Never has cars that you already booked online with. I've had to use Enterprise a lot these past couple of months for work and the Flushing location has been absolutely great to me! The customer service here is on point. The guys here are always polite and friendly and they usually remember me. When you walk in they find out what you need(pick-up or return) and place you in order as needed. They don't make you stand and wait in line. They let you sit while you wait. Eric and the other guys do their best to hustle to prevent long wait times. Please keep in mind, that this location is small and it gets very busy, so one should anticipate a few minutes wait at times. I've been here many times now and know the routine and what to do so that they usually get me in and out pretty quickly. I always use the complimentary pick up service (the Asian gentleman who normally picks me up is awesome!) and they will drop you back home if needed. I have had zero issues with this location since I started my work travels. I always get a nice/newish car and I've also received free upgrades when deemed appropriate due to limited stock.
