We rented a 15 passenger van. When we got there they did not have our van on site. We were told that they called to confirm the reservation (while we were in the air), and because we did not answer, they "traded the van away". I don't think they had the van in the first place (Maybe they did, I can't verify that) but to tell us it was our issue/fault that we did not answer the phone message and we had to wait 45 minutes for them to locate another van and get us out of there was infuriating. Did they eventually get us a van? Yes. Were they as polite as they could be while telling us it was our fault? Yes. That is why I am giving them a 2 star review and not a one star review. It just comes down to making a reservation and having 12 people sitting at the airport waiting for a van that was not there for our reservation. That is worth a one star review. They need to review their policies on how they handle their reservations. As a renter, I'd say you better let them know if you are coming from the airport and that you might be in the air when they call to verify that your actually picking up the van. read more

ENTERPRISE REVIEW (The Bad Part) On 04 November 2024 I called the reservation number for enterprise, and went through all the requirements to arrange for a rental vehicle. I asked about getting picked up because my vehicle was in a repair shop. I was told that my confirmation would be sent immediately. After 45 minutes with no confirmation, I again called, had long wait times, was passed around. When I finally was able to talk to someone, I was told that they could not find my reservation. Also, I was told that I could NOT be picked up to go get my rental. After 40 minutes of hold and being passed around, I gave up and tried to call the local office (Ft Walton Beach, FL). (The Good Part) They were able to immediately find my reservation and told me that the vehicle would be ready when I got to the office. The staff at the Ft Walton Beach was friendly, and Ms Kaitlyn was professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The Ft Walton Beach, FL office and Ms Kaitlyn in particular are rated at 5 stars. From pick up to drop off, the customer service at this location was upbeat and professional! Not much more I could ask for except for a reliable rental vehicle to get me around while my vehicle was in the repair shop. They gave me a Nissan Rogue, think it was a 2018 or 2019 because it had all the bells and whistles you expect in a modern car. I was going to highlight one employee but I dealt with three of them throughout my visit to their location and each employee greeted me upon walking and when I pulled up, ask questions, and gave me detailed explanation when I asked questions. This was by far my worst experience renting a car in 30 years. The day I got the car it said maintenance required and the transmission at a stop jerks u 3 feet forward randomly ..... when I called to replace car they told me they don't have anymore and they would add me to a swap list which never happened. My last rental vehicle that I rented from this place back in February was not the best. They offered me a van versus the original vehicle. While on our way to our destination to the Carolinas. Vehicle was not fit to be sent out...!!! The steering wheel had a shake at a certain speed.. No windshield washer fluid.. Windshield wipers were old and streaking... Molding piece missing on drivers side.. bottom On dash: Keyless remote battery low warning. Passenger rear window molding was not sealing, water leak. Carpet in the middle row was loose was able to see van floor Both tires on drivers side looked like they needed air. All the seats were dirty and stained..!! Customer service is the worst..!! When you call them, they say a manager is going to call me back and it's been over a month and I've yet to hear from a manager. I got offered a percentage off on my next rental and no need to fill the gas tank on my next rental and yet I have not seen that offer. read more

Two thumbs down. Used to be a reliable honest small town car rental in Fort Walton . Recent experience with this rental car agency was worse than unsatisfactory. Bait and switch along with false information or out right lies in order to get customers in the door. My experience was Enterprise proactively called me at the request of a local dealership. They offered me a mid size SUV and was assured that 4 adults and a car seat would be accommodated at the dealer set price. When I arrived, the mid side vehicle became a compact car for 4 small adults and forget the car seat. And, for the compact car there was an up charge that I must pay out of pocket. Bottom line , this car rental and its managers have NO intention of being upfront and honest. My advice is go somewhere else. read more

I was told that the truck I reserved was getting an oil change and it would be about an hour and 20 min. --At 108pm I was informed that the vehicle was enroute and It would be 10min. --At 125pm the vehicle arrived Agent excused herself from inspecting the vehicle to go inside and check on more thing. She comes out and informs me that the vehicle needed an oil change and they would let me know how long it would take. We had a car rented to us that was returned that morning, half-cleaned, and reeked of old cigarettes. They claimed that the gas tank was filled to 3/4 but was clearly at 1/2 tank and wanted us to return it at 3/4. There were a couple significantly large scratches that were missed during inspection that my husband and I had to point out. My husband made the reservation online with his debit card. When we went to pick up the rental, we were told that this Enterprise doesn't allow out-of-state renters to use a debit card for the security deposit, only accepts a credit card per their "policy". We were never told this information when booking. Thankfully, my husband had a credit card on him when we picked the up the rental - but that information would have been nice to know for obvious reasons. Lastly, The rentals were about 45-60 minutes wait time. This establishment is ran by young individuals that clearly have lack of knowledge about customer satisfaction. I would rent directly from the airport to hopefully avoid starting off your trip with a headache. read more

It took hours to get a rental. When I finally got it, the door handle fell off, the glove box door fell off and it smelled like smoke. I told the guy before we drove off and his answer was it would take about 3 hours to get another car. We had to get an Uber from the collision shop bcuz no one from Enterprise will answer their phone. I called their corporate office, they were very apologetic but nothing happened. It took us over a week to get a new vehicle. I'm an asthmatic and could not ride in the first car they gave us. They had plenty of cars on the lot but not enough people to clean them. Worst experience ever! I wish I could leave this rental company zero stars but unfortunately that isn't an available option. Yesterday I placed a reservation for an intermediate SUV. When I arrived to pick my rental up, I was told that the vehicle was unavailable leaving me to choose between a flat bed truck (gas hog) or a Kia Soul (shoe box). Enterprise was given more than 24 hours notice yet was unable to fulfill my reservation. I was also questioned why I needed a more spacious vehicle. That's none of your business! What's the problem here? If that wasn't already irritating enough. I was asked for my drivers license, form of payment (I used a debit card so I'm not sure if it would have been different had I used my credit card but I wasn't asked), & TWO utility bills or a utility bill/pay stub. What the what?!? I have never had a service provider ask me for this much information when I wasn't attempting to seek credit approval! Not that it is anyone's business but Enterprise made having to travel to Virginia for a funeral that much more stressful. Thanks, we appreciate that. I ended up leaving to spend my $600 at Hertz. Both times I've gone into the office I've been ignored and it was very clear that there was nothing going on. The vehicle I got smelled like cigarettes, and the second vehicle had fast food trash in the middle console, but didn't smell like cigarettes. You would think being a rental company, dependent on your business, that they would be more helpful. Boy was I wrong. Let me start by saying I am underage for a rental. Now, after contacting my insurance company who ok'ed the rental after my car was deemed unsafe, Enterprise still saw it fit for them to shut down my representative with every word he spoke. The customer service adviser wouldn't even let him finish! Talk about rude. Even he was flabbergasted at the way he and I both were being treated. So, after calling other rental places while still there since I was stranded without a car, I was then ignored until I stared a gentlemen down and told him I needed to be taken to work. If I could give 0 stars, I wouldn't. They would still have one based on the service that picks you up/drops you off somewhere. Those gentlemen are by far some of the most pleasant I have worked with. Other than that, horrible service. The best part about all of this was the fact the rented from them before... when I was younger. In my name. The same way I tried to this time around. I realize its out of their policy...but maybe if they were a little more gracious with their listening skills, we may have been able to work something out. First of all when you are a business surrounded by Military bases dont assume we want to hear you complain about the Military renting all your cars. The first car the gave me was a lovely Altima but when I got in I noticed the indicator light saying it needed tire maintenence and an oil and filter change. Instead they gave me a Honda Sonata, which was not nearly as nice as the Altima. I started to drive and found the steering wheel to be tacky and there was sand all over. I took it back and they said they would clean it. When they came back it was like they just moved it to a new spot, there was still sand all over. They have the nerve to complain about the Military folks bring the cars back dirty then rent me a dirty car. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because the gentleman who first tried to help really seemed to want to help. read more

The rep Stephanie, took great care of me as she understood my situation. I needed a van to replace my van as I had others join me on this trip and she helped get me into a van for little cost out of pocket, thank you. Ms. Bullard was an awesome employee and if was still an agent I would hire her in a heartbeat, at any cost, she was that good. The driver you have that shuttles customers was James made us laugh during a bad time and he helped make our day too. Mr. West helped when I brought the van back and was a pleasure to work with also. You have a great team down there and I hope you continue to help others the same as you helped me. After a terrible experience with a Enterprise location in Paris, Texas it was refreshing to have a service experience like I did at VPS airport. The paris TX location fraudulently charged me for a cracked window days after I left and they had checked my car back in. The insurance claims department was able to take care of my request and drop the charge which is the ONLY reason I decided to give Enterprise another shot. This location was kind, efficient, and overall on top of their game. The car was clean and easy to find. I was actually provided an SUV upgrade at no charge since my car wasn't ready. This is a far cry from the Paris, TX location where I paid double for an SUV because I showed up an hour early and my reserved car was not ready. Great experience. I've used this enterprise was surprised at how bad their service has become. My insurance company made a reservation for me to get a rental from them and when I arrived they said there were no cars available. The agent said a call was made to me and voicemail left. Putting it mildly that was a lie. After that she simply said I could call back and check if they have any cars available. She walked in and no further assistance given. 12/23/2020 @ 9:00am I went to pick up my rental SUV for Christmas vacation. They didn't have anything available but offered me a CAR instead. I clearly needed a 7-8 passenger vehicle. When I asked to speak to the manager, HE said he was the manager and that there was nothing more he could do. He didn't even attempt to call around to other enterprises to see if they had anything available. He didn't try to fix nor solve this inconvenience for my family and I instead He just stood there without saying anything else to me and started helping other customers behind me! So I ended up going elsewhere to get a rental which caused me to lose alot of time and I had to pay more money than originally intended!! Horrible company and management! read more

I have tried to resolve my issues with this business through emailing customer service etc. The actual office never called with any apology or offer after corporate emailed me twice that they would. I rented for a midsized car, which I did not get in a timely manner.( Actually I don't think I even got a "midsized" I got a compact) I pre registered with my card and all for an 8:00AM rental. They open at 8, I get that, but I never left until 9:00AM despite several employees and cars. There was an Elantra on the lot, but I had to wait for a returned fiesta to be cleaned and prepped, I had to wait in a line despite my online pre registration/payment. The girl who "showed" me the car was in a big hurry after spending an inordinate amount of time with the previous van rental. I had also requested a discount, of which I had a few options, and this was blatantly ignored. I have never received such horrible service at an Enterprise. I have always been very happy with the Gulf Breeze location, and should have gone there. I didn't because Ft Walton was on my way to my destination, where I arrived late. Corporate has reached out but this branch obviously could care less about good customer service. Shame on them. One unhappy "used to be regular" Enterprise customer. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, when I got the phone call to come and pick up the car, it had not been washed or cleaned on the inside. The car was dirty and the previous renter had to of been a smoker, because it ranked of cigarette smoke. Also the cigarette wrapper was in the back seat. The lady offered to have the car cleaned but I had other appointments and could not wait. Also, the tank was 1/2 full, therefore creating a problem bringing the car back on the same level. I will use them again for same drop off location rentals (I use Budget and Hertz on one way rentals), however, I hope I get a clean car full of gas the next time. Gotta try harder. read more

I rented online using Costco.com and when I arrived the reservation was not there. The rep said no problem and took care of it instantly and offered the same discounted price. They did try to push the insurance, but I told them I was a claims adjuster and knew how it worked and they stopped pushing. Overall a very easy process. read more
