I will never rent another vehicle from Enterprise again. If you get a traffic citation during the rental, they will of course pass it on the renter, as they should. What they should NOT do, is also stick the renter with a 35 pound "administrative fee." They claim it's in the rental contract so it's their right to assess that fee. SCAM ALERT!!!!!!!! Pay careful attention at this location. I picked up my rental from another Enterprise location and returned here. I have never seen an employee take so much time and effort to find anything. He came to me more than once with issues (scratches) that were recorded when I picked the vehicle up. He found another scratch under the fender that was never inspected on pickup and now I have a damage claim that I have to fight with his company about. I regularly rent cars for business trips and have never experience such horrible customer service. Fortunately I do not normally deal with Enterprise and will never again. There is no doubt that this a-hole was purposefully looking for anything he could, but the crazy part is that the car I rented was a scratched up POS that was impossible to even document all of the scratches and imperfections especially in the basement garage I picked it up from. Worst experience!! Make sure you check your vehicle inch by inch!! When I look around the vehicle, so many little scratches and even a ting little rock chip on windshield but the rep said they're all fine. When i return, the lady check inch by inch and pick on 2 spots, 1 is the rock chip and 1 is on the tire. I asked to talk to the rep I talked to when I get the vehicle, without thinking, that lady said he's not working that day. (But actually he is because I saw him working on the counter later on.) Also, the lady didn't even read the contract and told me she will charge me half tank of the gas because I didn't fill it up. Guess what, when I pick up the vehicle there is only half tank and it was circled 1/2 on the contract. They try to ripe me off, paying the maintenance cost. Heathrow location . I got a screw in the tire....went flat . Called the location, was told they would bring me a new tire out in one to two hours. The time turned into 4 hours, no new tire as promised, a patch done , and I was told to get myself a new tire ! Called the location , told if I return the car to switch it out ( mirrors aren't functioning either ) I would be charged £1000 excess for the tire..getting the difference returned to me in 6 weeks + time . Or I can sort new tire myself. ...even though they knew it was a rental . Called the corporate number to complain and they just wanted to transfer me back to Heathrow . OH, and enterprise when you read this, just don't go on and give your little email address about contacting corporate, I already tried that....went very well....NOT R. Never rent from Enterprise Heathrow. If you booked via a travel platform, they will tell you there is a "glitch" so that they give you a smaller vehicle (in terms of volume of rented vehicle) but claim it is what you rented given the number of car doors and a "glitch" in the platform's system. They will charge you a hefty difference. All workers will great you at the airport shuttle and work you like you are buying a car, not collecting a rental, telling you how "good you will look" in a different vehicle. They will claim to be giving you a discount but, if you researched their prices in advance, you know they are not. They then tell your platform (because of course you will call the platform saying that you paid double the price you were supposed to just to get a car of the same volume you booked) that YOU chose to upgrade. You were standing in their lot in the middle of the night with all of your possessions from a plane you just disembarked and you must drive across the country by the next day - meaning, you had no option and could not fit into the micro car they are trying to give you (that you never booked because you knew the micro was not the minimum volume you required). But that isn't all they will do. That is just the beginning. They will belittle any other insurance you have if you do not take theirs (so, if you are a platform working with them, FYI they call your insurance "trash"). They will warn you in many ways to buy their insurance. They then tell you just to get the car yourself and don't worry about any surface scratches because they do not matter. When you return the car, they matter a great deal. GBPs 1000 a great deal. If you have insurance from elsewhere, expect them to find a scratch and expect it to cost as much as buying their insurance. Just be ready. Heathrow Enterprise will do it. And they will fist bump as you are signing the paperwork, laughing, or at least that is what they did in front of us. Oh, and by the way, they will hit you with that fee months later, will never call you back to discuss when you attempt to call, will charge you per minute if you try to call the claims at headquarters, will never have managers call you back, etc. There is no one you can speak to about the supposed damage. They just run it on your card at some random time. Former employees of car rental providers at Heathrow informed me that the above is standard. They will find ways to take as much of your money as possible in any way necessary. They recommend avoiding airport services completely. So, if you must rent a car, take a taxi (or something else) to a rental place away from the airport. Especially if you care considering Enterprise. And remember that your platform - in our case Expedia - will not help you. In fact, just getting the right number is impossible and, when/if a manager calls you back, it will be around 3am so, if you do not pick-up, the consider the case closed even if you inform them that they are attempting to contact you in the middle of the night. In fact, several of their agents are very aggressive as well. In the end, rent directly from a decent car rental place far from the airport. Call in advance, speak with the manager, and get a feel for that particular branch before giving them any card information. read more

!! Beware: Bait and switch. Booked using the online system and got a good weekly rate for a medium Car. We were looking forward to it. The salesman at the rental center picked the MANUAL car rate from two rates we had booked, gave us the car. After 20 yards feeling how it was driving toward the exit, we new the car didn't work for us, we mentioned this and asked for the AUTO alternative. So step in the salesman to save our day!! Haha! NOPE. Here comes the bait and switch! We got a smaller hatchback car, and what seemed like a smaller daily rate. Little did we know that the salesman was pulling a fast one. Bottom line.... when we returned the car - the daily rate we were charged was TWICE the rate we booked. We had been switched to the daily rack rate without our being informed. Beware NEVER accept what the enterprise-rent-a-car at LHR agent says - get everything in writing. read more

The Enterprise at Heathrow Airport in London overcharged me and promised to refund me several times. They charged me a 40 some pound young driver's fee when my employer's corporate code clearly made me exempt. They've been promising me a refund all along the way. When I first picked up the car, they charged my credit card over my online reservation amount. They assured me the amount would be refunded later. When I returned the car, the gentleman Naeem who checked the car after the rental, said it would be in my account later that day. Moreover, I've contacted the Heathrow branch several times since - each time they said the refund would be in my account in 3-4 days. I've even spoken to the branch manager, Mr. Thomas Hayes. He asked me to send him an email with the details of the situation, which I did immediately after talking on the phone with him. He never responded. Now, three months after the rental, still no refund. In addition, I've also tried contacting customer service via their website, also with no resolution. The fact is, the representatives at the Heathrow airport have repeatedly lied to me. If they had told me up front that I would not be refunded, I would have simply hired through another company. It is extremely unprofessional to tell a customer to expect a refund in a few days and never follow up. read more

I was a bit nervous about driving in England for the 1st time AND driving my parents around to boot. As bad as my dad reacts to my driving I could almost imagine him panicking at every turn. I was also nervous that the cars might somehow be built differently. But the staff here understood all those nervous fears! They made sure that I had all my questions answered (and yes, the gas pedal is on the same side as in the States!) and walked me through everything in the car (a decently sized/priced Nissan Note) and generally made me feel more comfortable about my first UK driving trek. It would have been nice if they had GPS available. They had them at one point but said that people weren't using them so they stopped offering them. I would have paid a premium for one. I probably wasted 1/2 a days travels being lost at one time or another through-out the trip. And the drop off location was not easy to find. Also, I left a necklace on the console and even though I called less than an hour after leaving they said that it was no where to be found. Guess someone nicked it. read more

As a gold membet, i went to the gold member cabin where there were two staff with no customers. Funny world this car rental business. For those coming over to to visit England... DON'T PANIC! Driving here is easy, you'll get used to it after the first 5-10 miles. Tips: It's 30Mph unless signs say otherwise, people coming from your right have the right of way, and if the lights are red then that means stop, it doesn't mean you can turn left if it's clear!! Things that you may find useful: 1. If you're getting a Megan then they have TOMTOM GPS built in, BUT you need to bring your own maps on an SD card!! If you're a tech-head then eeeasie-peeasie, otherwise... don't bother. 2. If you're hiring from this specific branch then you will be charged a 15% Airport fee. Very very annoying, but that's just the way it is. 3. Their excess is around £600, so if you return the car with a dent, etc. then when you return the car, you'll very likely be handing them £600 before walking away. You can pay around £10 per day to get the excess reduced to something reasonable. 4. If there's more than one of you driving then add another £9 on top, per day, per driver. 5. Make sure you look around the car, covering every inch for dents or scratches. Make sure the radio aerial is attached: We didn't notice ours was missing when we collected the car, but luckily found it in the boot when we returned the car! 6. There's a Texaco Petrol station on Bath Road (Bath Road, Harlington, London UB3 5AY), good place to refuel before returning the car. In our case, for a Megan, for two days it was a basic £60, plus one extra driver, and reduced excess, and airport fee which added up to £100. Hope that helps. read more

Genuinely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The rental was picked up, checked for damage and none was found. Once back at the centre they called me to inform me of windscreen damage. I suggested, that as it wasn't discovered, it could easily have happened on the drive home, so the guy went to speak to his colleagues, then never called me back, so I naturally assumed that the matter was dealt with. I later discovered that they had then proceeded to just send a claim directly to to the insurance company. Obviously irritated by the underhand nature of this, I called to complain, but because I had the audacity to suggest poor customer service (calmly I may add) the customer service rep was rude, then hung up. I lived abroad for many years, so have a lot of experience with hire cars, and The service at enterprise is without question the worst!! Don't even deserve 1 star. Use hertz or Europcar or literally any other provider, as they are cowboys who will scam you in whatever way they can!! read more

If you rent from here be sure to inspect every inch of the car while doing a video walk around and ask the attendant about every little mark no matter how insignificant you may think is is. If it's raining be sure to insist that the tires be dried so you can inspect them, very important. If you do get charged for damage, inspect the final damage bill very carefully to be sure you were only charged for the damage they noted upon returning the car. Mine had an error which if I had not noticed added an extra 85£ to the repair bill. Car was nice though and I found the service fast. read more

I had the best rental car experience EVER at this location of Enterprise. The guys who run the place are all exceptionally nice and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. We had originally secured a car with Hertz, and although my husband and I are both Gold members, the system (despite the very nice attendant who helped us at Hertz) tried to charge us almost QUAD what we had reserved the car for - a cool £500, which, if you don't know, is almost $1000 for only a week long rental which we signed up to pay around $200 for. We absolutely refused to be gouged and proceeded to walk next door to Enterprise. You can imagine that we were pretty unhappy right out of the gate, but they cheered us right up with their demeanor and their treatment of us. Not only did they hook us up with a very nice midsize diesel, they waived several fees for us which they had a full right to impose and provided us with a wifi hotspot for £10 per day, a little investment which proved to be incredibly valuable. My husband returned the car to Stanstead airport on Sunday when he had to fly to Barcelona, and I decided to opt for trains rather than keeping the car and driving, a last minute decision that didn't ruffle any feathers. They could have demanded that he bring the wifi back to them immediately, yet they allowed me to keep the wifi hotspot and return it to them when I got back to Heathrow 4 days later. What's more, they structured the rental costs to my benefit rather than their own - just outstanding. As if that's not enough, every time I called this office with a question, they gave me the best answer I could hope for, and were polite and friendly without exception! Suraj and Muhammed (sp?) were excellent, as was the manager, whose name I can't recall but who is related to a Harrington! Rachael (at the Heathrow terminal) was great about accepting the wifi unit & happily contacted Dee (at the North Perimeter Road location) by phone to communicate her receipt of the unit on my return to avoid confusion and save me having to email. Dee was also helpful in an earlier call by checking on my husband's return of the car and making sure we were credited for the unused days, which again worked to our benefit. I just rented twice recently on two recent trips to UK from the US. Both times my experience at Enterprise Rent-A-Car was smooth and painless compared to other agencies near LHR that I have rented in the past. Very professional staff and shuttle drivers and I finished the paper work and on my way within a few minutes. No hard up-selling like you get at the other London rental agencies. The choice of cars and SUVs were good and the staff was very professional. After a 11 plus hours of flight from the US, the last thing you want to do is haggle with the rental car people trying to sell you everything you don't want. That was my previous experience with the other car rentals in London. Not Enterprise Rent-A-Car. What a relief. This location also handles the Alamo rentals and you get the same fine experience. Can't fault the staff but the high-pressure insurance sales pitch after a delayed ten-hour flight from Phoenix began to grate a little. Was given an automatic Astra (perfect for my needs) but within ten miles from the airport the fuel gauge needle slipped to less than two thirds full and the car felt like I was driving it on ice. A quick check showed the tyre pressures ranged from 48psi to 23psi, with the front axle pressures being 48 and 28. No wonder it felt so bad to handle! And an 810 mile limit for a nine day rental?! Which car rental company limits miles these days (apart from Enterprise, obviously)? I only used Enterprise as my National reservation pushed me across, but it'll be the last time I'm afraid. I have been waiting for a return call for two weeks from this location. I've requested a manager call me at least 10 times and not once have I received a call back. Customer service here is beyond terrible. We left 4 north face jackets in our rental, I called within 10 minutes of dropping the car off and somehow nobody can find them. Completely ridiculous that they were either stolen or they are sat there and nobody can be bothered to provide customer service. DO NOT rent from this location. read more

When we turned the car in the agent found a tiny, shallow nick on the side of one of the wheels. I did not hit anything, and the nick wasn't more than a centimeter or so long. Yet Enterprise decided that this warranted an entire new tire, for which I was charged 150 pounds. Now I've been battling them to try to get them to cooperate with my insurance. I had to call them to actually get a receipt for the damage; again to get a case file number for my claim; and yet again to urge them to turn in paperwork my insurance company requested from them weeks ago. Now the latest I hear is "Unfortunately we do not have the costs on file as of yet therefore we cannot provide you with any of the below documentation." If you're going to make up damage and charge me, at least meet me half way with the appropriate paperwork so I can stop wasting time on trying to process this claim. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GUYS! I rented from them in April and had a very bad experience. First, they put me into a car of a lower class than I paid for. I didn't realize until I was in Cambridge. After several hours of back and forth phone conversations they finally delivered a car to us up in Cambridge. Ok, fine. There was a bad egg at the office. That happens. They later reimbursed me $50 for the trouble. Good. Now, SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, they now say that I "damaged the car". When I told them there was no damage, they say the SD card for the nav was stolen. Firstly, the car didn't have nav. I hadn't paid for nav, so I wasn't bothered that it didn't have it like the first car did. Now, they are claiming that I stole the nav sd card. They just charged my card $478 for a missing sd card. WTF? I'm disputing it, of course. But beware when renting from these guys. I've never had a problem in the US. read more

I was stunned by the great service I received at Enterprise. My experiences at car rental generally have been bad to poor and so this was a refreshingly great service at pickup. Bus came promptly to the T5 stop. I was at the pickup location in about 5 minutes. Driver radioed my details ahead and there was someone at the door to greet me. He took me to the counter where an associate (Rachel?) took over. After a few minutes processing my credit card and drivers license and without the usual hard up sell (I was asked if I wanted a few addons: gps, fuel etc.) she walked me over to the car, checked everything over with me, made sure I know how to operate everything, checked car for damage. Once I was happy with the car, she went through the rental agreement with me and I signed off on it. I was offered Enterprise insurance which I declined without any fuss as I had my own cover. Finally, a cheerful person at the gate checked again that I was happy with the vehicle and provided directions to where I was going. read more

I just wanted to say what a great experience I had renting a van at London Heathrow! On arrival, Alex was waiting for us and took us right out to the vehicles. He gave us a choice from several vans that fit our reservation....very nice! That same morning, my credit card number had been stolen, so my card was cancelled. I could no longer use it. But much to my relief, Alex changed the reservation over to one of my fellow travelers and added me as a driver... all within a matter of 5 minutes! I can't tell you how relieved I was. On our return today, we were greeted by James. He was very polite and helpful. The return was the easiest rental car return I have ever done! When finished, he even asked how the customer service was during our trip! Even the shuttle driver to Terminal 3 was incredibly cheery and helpful! This was by far the easiest, most polite, and enjoyable car rental I have ever taken part in. Please thank and commend James and Alex for us. As a Europcar privilege member and Hertz Gold member, neither could offer me a one month car rental at Heathrow airport where we found ourselves after awful treatment from BA. So, I contacted enterprise at Heathrow, who not only found us a car but the staff provided service that easily exceeded my previous hire experiences at both Europcar and Hertz! The rental rate was good, car new, clean and just what we needed, staff were so helpful and their hire and return system was just seamless even down to the drop off at the terminal. While I think €76 for rental of a €18000 car for 4 days more than reasonable , I think €55 for rental of a child seat worth €45/£32 (priced on amazon ) bordering on criminal. The atmosphere is unprofessional and the staff are immature. The staff are supremely nasty to some customers and rather clubbish with others. I have never seen such unprofessional behaviour at any big city car hire centre before. Very creepy place best suited for those with an invitation to join the club and those from mainstream groups. If they don't like the look of your face they treat you differently and you will feel uncomfortable. I could not believe I was in cosmopolitan London while I was there. We rented an enterprise car from Heathrow airport the car broke down and would not run .We were in the hills of northern Ireland UK there was no cell service we got a ride to an area of cell coverage, we called enterprise and there only concern was the car. 5 hrs later we met up with the recovery truck that took us back to the car they could not get it started cylinder 3 was showing a trouble signal . They had to lift the car to remove it. But had no direction on what to do with us we called and called enterprise and Volvo and mostly got hung up on. We waited hours for any reply from enterprise and nothing! So much for we will take care of you 24- 7 from there latest commercial. We had to hire a taxi to our hotel around 1am, still nothing from enterprise, when we were almost back they did say they would have a car ready for us when we returned to Wales. We returned and nothing from them, no car, no calls. We had to hire a car from hertz to get back. Only to find out they charged us 1000 pounds for towing.. First no help what so ever now they charged us for there car breaking down and all on our honeymoon to boot..... thanks enterprise we will let all know about your service...... The service was shoddy, their computers didn't work and their staff seemed poorly informed on almost every issue. Worse still were the attempts to misleadingly upset on the vehicle and the insurance. I received great, superb, top notch service from the rental car counter at the airport to returning the car. The car lot was not connected to Terminal 1, so I rode a shuttle to and from the airport. Before heading to the car lot to pick up your car, you will first need to get everything squared away at the counter. At the counter, you take care of the insurance, gas, and form of payment. They then send your information over to their people at the car lot. As you ride the shuttle over, they shuttle driver radios over my name so that my car would be ready. As soon as I exited the shuttle, there was someone there to greet me. We walked around the car to inspect for any damages. After giving me some final details about the car and what not, it was off I go. Before exiting the lot, you'll need to give the gate attendant a copy of the rental agreement. Returning the car was just as pleasant and stress free. I would definitely recommend renting a car from these guys if you absolutely need to drive while you're in the UK. read more

I am an Enterprise Plus member and have used this company many times to rent cars but I have several problems with Enterprise in the U.K. I rented a car from Edinburgh, Scotland on August 24, 2019. At time of rental I was told that the car used diesel fuel. The agent was not 100% sure of this so she called another agent over to confirm it. They both agreed that it used diesel fuel and emphatically told me to fill it with diesel fuel. The fuel cover had a symbol on it and they pointed it out to me to confirm their statement. The first time I needed fuel my daughter checked the car manual and it stated that the car used petrol (gas)! I could have ruined the car and been liable for the damage if I had listened to the enterprise agents. It would have been incredibly easy and quick for the agents to check this important fact in the manual themselves. Even better, Enterprise could appropriately train their employees to know which cars are gas and which are diesel. Then when I returned the car to Heathrow airport Enterprise on September 2nd, my daughter left an iPad under the passenger seat. Yes, this is our fault. She put it there while we went on a tour. When I realized this about 3 hours later, I called them and asked if the car was still in their lot. The agent told me that it was. I then asked him to check for the iPad and told him exactly where it was. I did not get a call back from him so I called twice again and finally spoke with another agent who told me that there was no iPad in the car. Maybe I should have taken the 3 hours (round trip) to go out to the airport and look myself, but I assumed that Enterprise was a trustworthy business who would actually look for and attempt to return such an expensive item. I contacted Enterprise by email and twitter and they told me that their agents said there was no iPad found. This is incredibly suspicious because I had confirmed prior to asking about the iPad that the car never left the lot. This means that the iPad either magically disappeared or an Enterprise employee stole it. Maybe this is something that the staff at enterprise do to make extra money. I have had expensive items found and mailed back to me by other rental car agencies (I have kids, they leave things behind). I am a bit shocked that Enterprise allows this to continue. Not only do I now get phishing emails several times a day to the email used for my Apple account (it was displayed on iPad in lost mode), but it was also a financial burden to replace. Although I've been a loyal Enterprise customer for many years, I no longer trust this company and have stopped using them for my regular car rental needs. read more

However, the service level provided by Enterprise in the United Kingdom far surpasses anything I've experienced before. When picking up my car, I was warmly greeted by Thomas who shook my hand, introduced himself, and proceeded to look after my reservation in an efficient, helpful fashion. He explained all of the options to me in great detail and even helped load my luggage into the car. But it didn't end there -- I accidentally blew out the left front tire while driving on one of the very narrow English roads. I called the emergency number supplied by Enterprise, and they very quickly arranged a repair service to meet us at the roadside and replace the wheel. It was very fast, efficient, and painless. Now, this is where it starts to get quite surreal. The following day, I blew out the left rear tire in the same fashion. But now, I did not have a spare wheel to replace it with. Once again, a quick call to Enterprise got them to arrange a breakdown service to tow the car back to our hotel, and they arranged a replacement vehicle for me as quick as they could. The replacement was exacerbated by there not being any vehicles available in the Enterprise depot closest to where I was staying in Cornwall, so I needed to take a taxi about 30 miles away in order to pick up the replacement car. I was also too late to return the car to the Heathrow depot before they closed for the night, so I had to return it the following morning. Once again, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exemplary. They did not charge me any extra for the late return, and even deducted one day's rental from my bill as a compensation for the problems with the blown out tires -- even though it was my fault! They also picked up the tab for the taxi ride. From my perspective, they went over and above my expectations of exemplary customer service, and I heartily recommend them to anybody needing a rental car at London Heathrow Airport. Worst car hire company to deal with. Booked a Seat Alhambra automatic transmission online for a week's time and what I got to collect was a van (Hyundai IS800), which apparently is an equivalent vehicle according to them. To be precise, you have no control over what you get and can end up with nasty surprises under the excuse of the small text that says "or equivalent" next to advertised vehicle. How on earth you would compare a seat Alhambra to a Hyundai IS800 beyond belief. There are no provisions for the the customer to know what the equivalent vehicles would be. To make it worse, the vehicle provided was in a shabby condition, re-hired without even bothering to clean after the previous customer. This was in spite of booking the vehicle about 4 days in advance. When refused to collect it, they left me with no choice than no refund cancellation. After a lot of drama, I was given a Vauxhall Zafira with manual transmission which is way cheaper to what I had booked. However, they wouldn't refund the difference saying the onus is on me to accept it or leave it. Also, while returning the vehicle, they tried to set me up for a missing parcel shelf which was never present in the vehicle in the first place, nor listed in the document. I just arrived at my hotel after picking up a car from Enterprise outside of the Heathrow airport, and even though I have not finished the transaction, I must post on the super friendly staff! After having failed to get a car from a no-name outfit that treated me like dirt, wow, what a difference! Although my attempt at making a same day web reservation failed, the airport shuttle bus driver welcomed me on board and took me right over to the rental area 6 minutes away. The staff behind the counter was efficient, friendly, and quick. Everything was explained clearly, no double talk, like that other place. Also, although I declined the extra fee GPS, the car had one built-in, so I got that for free (good thing too, because I'm sure with all those roundabouts, I never would have found my hotel. If you want a great car rental experience, you might give these guys a try. My experience with them was way above expectations. Edit (Added after turning in the car): Again, I felt like a king! Smooth check-in. The guy thanked me for taking good car of the car. Bus driver super friendly and helpful. Can't say enough good about the staff and service. Enterprise is my go-to! I'm glad the other reviewers are saying the same thing or a reader of this review would think I was an insider or something, lol!
