I was planning to visit the area for pleasure, and I needed a rental car just for one day. I ended up choosing to stay at the SpringHill Suites, by Marriott (Herndon, Virginia) primarily because this hotel was close to the airport (IAD), and it also has this Enterprise Rent-A-Car business colocated within the premises. After making my reservation with the hotel, I then made a reservation with this Enterprise as well. I had a super-smooth experience here. This Enterprise Rent-A-Car station is located on the first floor just a few steps around the corner from the hotel lobby. Upon approaching the Enterprise window, a young man greeted me. His name was Devin, and I found him to be professional and friendly. I was especially happy because he took the time to walk out, show me the car, inspect the car for possible pre-existing damage, and show me where the after-hours key drop-off location was. He also gave me a better car than what I was expecting to get. I drove this car all over the Washington D.C. area, and then I returned it back to this Enterprise, returning after Enterprise closed for the night. After ensuring that I removed all my items from the car, I then put the car keys in the drop box just as Devin advised. I had no issues whatsoever. Thanks to the folks at Enterprise, especially to Devin, for providing excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend choosing to rent a car at this location to others. read more

This was an insurance booking, so different from a personal rental, but they had received my paperwork, and I called and found their hours and location so that I could pick up my car. Though this is a small Enterprise location with only one person staffing the area behind the counter, it wasn't busy, and I was the only one picking up a car. We checked the paperwork, and he took a copy of my license. We went off to inspect the car, and off I went! The return of the vehicle was almost as simple, though there were 3 people in front of me. Instead of waiting, I just handed him the keys, and my invoice was waiting in my inbox about 10 minutes later. Easy peasy! read more

We were driving in a National Park in WA when the engine coolant light came on (which you can't drive with). We called Enterprise roadside assistance, and they told us they couldn't tow us because we were in a National Park. But when I spoke to the park rangers, they said people get towed all the time, and even gave me the number of a company that tows often. Enterprise said because of a policy they still couldn't tow, and asked us to find a ride to the nearest enterprise (2 hours away). No Ubers came to the park, and when I asked, Enterprise could not guarantee that I'd be reimbursed for a 2 hour ride (which was $250+). Thankfully, a very kind park ranger drove us an hour outside the park, so we could get an Uber. But if they hadn't done that, Enterprise would have stranded us! The employees at the enterprise locations we went to were very apologetic, and helped any way they could, and did reimburse me for the uber. If my review was just based on them, it would be 5 stars. But the roadside assistance experience was truly terrible, and it shocked me that they were willing to strand customers for something that wasn't our fault. I went to rent a car from enterprise on Chantilly location one lady on this office gave me a price for small suv asking me do you need the receipt by E Mail said yes when I got home the price caught me was completely different. I called the office Mathew answered the phone I told him what happened he was rude and told me take it or leave it I asked home to talk to manager told me he is the manager and he will not make me talk to the lady helped me . We dropped off my sister's car this morning at Autoscandia to have some repairs done. Since she needs a car to get back and forth to work the staff at Autoscandia suggested we use the Enterprise Rent-A-Car which is conveniently located right next door. I'm sure like a lot of us I usually find the process of renting a car oftentimes a big "headache" and for a lot of reasons...waiting in long lines, unfriendly staff etc. But that wasn't the case here at this location. Although Shelby was having a busy morning she was still very friendly extremely helpful and efficient. Someone should give her a raise! read more

They are extremely friendly, prompt, intelligent...the list goes on. This type of service experience is not common in todays industry. Well located rental office within the Marriott Springhill Suites on Spring St. I was there because I was having my car worked on next door at Autoscandia, and this is right next door. When I arrived there were three employees who welcomed me and processed my paperwork and got me out to my rental quickly. Don't show up without a reservation however, as they have limited vehicle availability since it's a small location. I got there about 1pm, and all they had left was a minivan. Not a big deal for me, but they offered to switch it with something else if I didn't mind waiting. Presumably, they would have brought one in from another Enterprise. When I returned the car, there was only a single employee, and she was on the phone. Unfortunately I was in a rush, so having me wait for 10 minutes while she finished up is not her fault, but the prompt service from the day before was absent. read more

Horrible location to rent the car. Do not rent a car at this location. They overcharged and accepted the mistake but kept giving false assurance of refunding the extra charge. 2 months have passed and still no refund credited. It does not take weeks to credit back. My wife made a reservation in advance for a 10am pick up today but fell ill so I had go out and do it at 1pm. We are making a family visit to the area and my dad (who lives locally) helpfully offered to give me a lift over here. Be warned that this facility is tiny and hidden in the center of a hotel. If you don't live around here- you will not find it without considerable effort- even with GPS. The tiny selection of cars is kept out in the side parking lot of the hotel where they are cared for out in the open. I was told flatly that I was late and my car was gone- that's it. I asked the agent what he could do about it (was not offered). In the next five minutes the agent was appearing to make some half interested effort in contacting another branch. All the while, the second young man at the desk completed ignored my presence while slowly and methodically clipping his fingernails. After 5 minutes, another car came back in. The agent told me that would be my car (without indicating what it was or curiosity in whether it would meet my needs) and asked me for a DL and credit card. I gave him a Visa debit card, which I've used successfully at Enterprise in CA very recently and was told I could not rent a car without "major credit card" (which I no longer carry) with an out of state license. However, I could rent at the Dulles airport Enterprise as long- as I had a return flight itinerary to present. No offer for any kind of coordination with the airport Enterprise at all or apology for my inconsistent recent experience with Enterprise. In this part of the country, there's probably a 50% chance of a customer having an out of state license for one reason or another when renting a car. This policy was bad enough but not the fault of the agent. What I do hold the agent to is the totally unhelpful attitude which has resulted in a major hassle on my end. Do not recommend using this Enterprise, which overall I've had very good experience with as a larger operation. read more

My insurance ordered a rental and directed me to this place. Receptionist told me there was no car there and I had to go to Sterling which of course is 10 to 13 miles away. Abruptly told me that otherwise she would have a car there tomorrow. I had used Enterprise a few months before and had used this office once before. The clerk turned away and went back to do what she was doing on computer. After my strong objection the other person there drove me to their Sterling office where they gave me a car with filthy upholstery. read more

Watch out for these little sneaks. When I rented the car, they asked me "would you like to purchase extended coverage?" to which I replied, "no thanks, I'm covered under my insurance." They had me initial about 10 places when I signed the agreement. Not once did they so much as hint that I was signing up for insurance (an additional $17 a day.) When I returned the car after 10 days, they charged me extra $170, which nearly doubled the rate we had verbally agreed on when I signed. Nice little surprise. While ultimately it's on me for initialing the box, that's just a shady way of conducting business, and I feel it's worth warning potential customers about. There are plenty of options for car rentals in Herndon, and none of the others have pulled this stunt on me, so yeah, I won't be back. Hope the extra money was worth losing a customer. read more

I use this Enterprise location frequently because they offer a guaranteed rental rate to customers of my Volvo repair shop, located next door. I don't think the rate is particularly low, especially compared to what I sometimes turn-up if I do five minutes-worth of comparison shopping online. However, the rate is, in fact, guaranteed from rental-to-rental, and the staff always puts effort into finding me the most appropriate car, no matter the size, large or small, even if it means quickly importing a rental vehicle from another nearby Enterprise location. All this saves me a great deal of hassle, usually at a time I'm hassled anyway, because of a dead Volvo commuting car. At my last visit, I dealt with a really charming young woman, who went above and beyond to find me the large vehicle I needed (to haul a spouse and two teenagers around) while my Volvo SUV was being repaired--at the guaranteed rate. The folks there were super helpful when I couldn't find my drivers license. The car wasn't what I expected. A Kia not a Chrysler. But they knocked down the price. The car wasn't clean at all but I didn't want to complain after they were so patient with me. We dropped it off a day early and apparently if you already had it five days they charge you the full week anyway. That was disappointing but probably in the fine print. Over all, happy. read more

I rented a car from this location. Its hard to get hold of these people over the phone. Instead of charging the insurance company they have charged my credit card. I have called them multiple times. I had a Priority Pass for an Intermediate car and had to wait 30 mins and received a subcompact car. After calling ahead I turned the subcompact back in the next morning and waited another 30 mins. Car was filthy, needed an oil change, and the car jumped out of 1st gear. Turned that car back in a few days later and was forced to drive to another location to pickup a different car. After the car was turned in, Enterprise called me about a residual amount to still be paid, I stated that was to be paid by my insurance company and the autobody and that if they had any trouble to please contact me. I specifically said, "Do not charge me". Enterprise did not attempt to contact me and proceeded to charge my credit card $160+ I called Enterprise and they basically said "Sorry we should have called you. Go through the autobody to get your money." If I go back to an Enterprise rentacar again it won't be at the Crowne Plaza or Spring Hill Suites locations. read more

Had a great experience with this office. It was initially a little tricky locating it as it is in the rear of the hotel. I rented a SUV for a quick trip to Florida. I had reserved it through Costco and the price was the best. The customer service when renting the car was seamless and the agents on duty were very professional and accomodating. I was upgraded to a larger SUV free of charge. There was some small miscommunication on the price as I returned the car early however the Manager, "Tom" went above and beyond in resloving the issue when I returned the car. Excellent customer service at this office from start to finish. I will use again and recommend it. read more

If you are thinking of renting a car DO NOT use enterprise. They claim to be a family company but they certainly don't act like it. When I called ask what time to return my car they "encouraged" me to do it after hours. That way I had no proof when the pristine car I returned was damaged in the HOTEL parking I had to leave it at. With all the waivers you have to sign, I had no other recourse than to pay. They wouldn't negotiate and trying for a win-win outcome was impossible. Please if you deal with this company, take pictures, protect yourself any way you can because they only want money any way they can get it. read more
