By far my rental experience (from reservation, to pick up, then drop off) was the easiest and most enjoyable I have ever had. I needed to rent a pickup truck for a one day trip. Made the reservation online. The office here in Hicksville called to confirm my afternoon pick-up reservation time the morning of. Zero stars if possible. Mother in law was in a car accident in WV and got a rental vehicle at Enterprise there. Decided to drive back to NY to pick up several things and needed a larger vehicle. The staff was advised to do a switch out which would allow us to keep this 2nd upgrade rental under the vehicle insurance policy but her credit card had been declined at the time as she had made a large purchase recently. All she had to do was make a payment and it would have been approved. Yet the staff told her that it's ok to have her husband provide his ID, use his credit card, and sign the rental agreement. Now, we received a huge charge on his credit card and our car insurance says they will not cover anything as the rental agreement is not with the primary policyholder. We contacted this store and we were told "Sorry, we can't do anything about it". Thanks and we will be telling anyone who needs a rental car to go elsewhere. read more

I had hit a deer, and my car had to immediately go in for repair. I'll admit, I am not the best at handling a stressful situation. They were so kind to me. They took time to find me the best car at my price point, and they definitely delivered. I had no idea how long I would need the car,. I'd call them every few days when I needed it to be extended. I normally don't double down. I never write a review for the same chain twice. But this review isn't about "Enterprise" and their amazing selection of vehicles, it's about Matt, a representative of the company. I came in ahead of time to pick up my Rav-4 suv. Two employees were handling other customers and Matt noticed. He walked right over and immediately addressed me. After providing credit card and license, Matt reviewed the rental prices. He also mentioned that he had a Suburban available, which I told him I would look at. The Suburban was nice, but not me. Matt added that he would rent it at the same price as the Rav-4. But than what he said next got my full attention. "No one requested the Jaguar across the street so I can give it to you for a little upgrade." What! I didn't play it cool at all. I ran right over and jumped right in. This was the suv for my drive to Philadelphia. A few signatures and I was on my way. Matt saw opportunity to make customers happy and he went above and beyond. This location was voted "best in customer relations" and I see way. With staff like Matt there, I can easily see this business getting a repeat award. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. I recently had an accident occur with my car (thankfully, I was not in it) that has left my car totaled. This was the nearest rental place to my home and we've been trying to get in contact with them for DAYS! My insurance is supposed to help pay for the rental but somehow they are still charging an additional $500+ (what exactly is the insurance paying for if this is the "discounted rate"?). They've been leading us around by the nose for over a week and even this morning, we we're supposed to come in and check out the rental. The man told us to arrive at 4PM and failed to disclose the fact they close early today at 12PM. They've been doing this all week. What is wrong with the staff here? Does a single person have any proper training? It seems to me like they genuinely just hire anyone at this place. They have barely any rules/regulations and it's clear to me that this is one of (if not the only) WORST LOCATIONS! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THEM, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. read more

I rented a car from here while my car was getting work done after an accident. First, I was told I would see a hold on my account for $400, however, I would on be charged $280. After looking at my bank account and I realized I was charged $450. Later that day I had a family emergency where I wouldn't be needing the car so within 6 hours I brought the car back and was told they wouldn't charge for other than the day. I should have received a refund by now, but instead I was charged $450. I have been trying to call customer service for 2 days seeing as I only had the car for half the day. Too bad all the numbers that have are incorrect and I'll have to dispute the charges through the bank. Unprofessional location, took out $400 out of my account aside from the deposit of $200. Did not communicate with me at all that they were going to withdraw from my account. What if I had nothing in there?! It's disgusting, that I had to call Enterprise to question them about these discrepancies. Their response back was that it's on them and it won't happen again without them notifying me first. But guess what they did it two more times. The staff at this location, led by "Charlie" who is rude, condescending and incompetent, have no business being in a customer service centric business. I was told that they give 90-days to a third party to pay for a rental, but after 60 days decided it was time to charge my card for the rental. Then when challenged as to why I was charged, I was hung up on. In this day and age of customer engagement, you'd think that a business would want to solve a customer issue. Not these guys. I never thought I would write a gushing review of a car rental place but the Enterprise in Hicksville deserves 10 stars. The building is small and unassuming and hard to see when driving south on 106 but once you find it the staff treats you like you are a member of their family. They are professional, kind, courteous and extremely helpful. Special kudos to the manager Drew who went above and beyond for me. ALL the staff did, but unfortunately I cannot remember everyone's names. My car was being held hostage at a local car dealership repair shop resulting in my having to rent from Hicksville Enterprise for over a month. I had to keep renting over and over again because every time I was told my car was ready, the dealership wouldn't give it to me. Enterprise made several trips bringing me back and forth to the dealership. They sympathized with my situation, since this particular dealership is notorious for treating their customers like this. My case was particularly insane and their treatment of me was nothing short of abuse. It was a very stressful situation only to be made better by the kindness of the staff of Enterprise. My home is a bit of a distance from their location, but if I ever need to rent a car for any reason, I will make the extra trip to Hicksville because they are THAT GOOD. Rent a vehicle absolutely anywhere else. I rented a vehicle from this location thru my insurance. If I knew the hell I would be going thru I would of walked for the week and half my car was in the body shop. The car reeked of whatever the prior renter had in it that it had to be driven with the windows open. Finally when the rental was over I was charged way too much. I was told the car was returned two days after the contract was up which isn't true. The car was left at the body shop the day it was supposed to be as directed by enterprise. For the last two months I've been calling to get a refund and was told it's being processed, I also asked multiple times for a receipt and was told it was E-mailed to me which it never was. Finally I called corporate and was told on their end it looks like a refund was never even requested from that location. I asked corporate for a receipt and it was in my emails before I even got off the phone. To this date, my refund is still being "processed" RENT FROM ANYWHERE ELSE. Worst experience I've ever had at an ERAC. The staff is fine if you have no questions, concerns or issues and if you do, they will all be rude. They should know that if they are going to talk about a customer while they are standing there, they should close the door bc you can see them through the mirror in the managers offices. Most unprofessional group I've ever encounter, especially Ashley. ERAC used to be run by college educated young professionals, now I'm not so sure. I cannot say more about my experience with Enterprise in Hicksville, NY. After getting into an accident (someone hit me!) with my two babies in car (2019 Chevy Traverse) -- we are all okay thankfully - Eric and his manager took care of me when unfortunately, my insurance company did not. Apparently my insurance only covers a small sized vehicle. I'm not sure WHY it matters what MY insurance covers considering this accident went through the other person's insurance as the accident was 100% their fault, but nevertheless, my insurance company wanted to put my and my two babies (both with car seats, one bigger and bulkier than the next; strollers; all things baby) into a car similar to an Altima. As stated earlier -- I drive a 2019 Chevy Traverse that I pay a TON of money to insure, and they wanted me to put my babies into a small vehicle and were not looking to hear my begging and pleading with them - for my kids safety!!! Fortunately for me, Enterprise was willing to upgrade me ON THEIR DIME -- because my insurance company -- excuse my language -- SUCKS! I know exceptions can be made -- this should have been an exception -- and unfortunately Enterprise cared more about the safety of my children for our week rental than my own insurance company did! A special thank you to Eric and his manager Greg for making this a better experience for me than my insurance company had planned. You have my business for always in future, as well as the business of any family and friends ever in need of a rental. Do not rent from this location, they are very unprofessional and dishonest people. I was told that my insurance is covering $40/day and they gave me a minivan that was exactly $40/day, when I went to sign the paperwork, the guy tells me I will be charged $10/day, when I asked for what, he said "its sales tax". When I looked at the paperwork he was trying to charge me extra money, which was under the "time and distance" column, on top of what he was charging my insurance company and lying to me saying its the tax. Made a reservation to pick up a car, it was set up and confirmed. I call the location at 10:00, pick up time 11:00 am, to make sure I was all set for 11, they told me they see my reservation but do not have a car. I've spoken to at least 3 people who assured me I would get a call back today, it's now almost 4pm and I haven't heard from anyone and the location closes at 5. What a joke this place is!! The last rental I had was s large sub!! A Chevrolet Suburban long! It was damaged when I picked it up so they said take it and we will offer you a free upgrade next time!! Ok!! I arranged another rental large SUV the reserved a suburban for me!! I arrive and the tell me I have a smaller suv the suburban is a premium such and I can have the for an extra 40 per day!! Then tried to pull all kinds of mathematical stunts to make me feel I'm getting my free upgrade!! When I rejected all the optional coverages they got pissed off with me!! They told me it was only car they had available.... so why reserve a car if they can't fulfill the request? Car window's were filthy, The waiting room was old and dingy. They tried to give me a car with 1/8 of a tank of gas, I would have ran out of gas before leaving the parking lot... when I asked that they fill it up I was told their gas card was a $10 max... they spoke to a manager and were able to fill it up. It took over an hour to rent the car. I gave 2 stars only because the staff were pleasant, but they were a bit taken aback by my request that they fill the tank prior to me taking the car. Is that request so odd? It is much easier to return the car on full than try to figure out how to return it with 1/8 of a tank.... or are they trying to get you to return their cars with more fuel than you left with. read more

The staff was not courteous. They did not pick me up from the hotel. They said if I need to be picked up the wait time is 1.5 hours. While on business one cannot wait that long. I had to take a cab to go to them, plus no courtesy. They charged me an second drivers cost without discussing before hand with me. Man what a experience I had with enterprise. I rented the car for my birthday weekend. The car was promised a 4 wheel drive when rented. When we went north, it snowed so we tried to put it in four wheel drive to make it easier and there wasn't! Fortunately we still made it, but it swerved on the road and almost swerved off the highway. When I returned the car back on Monday. I told them what happened and the manager Charlie said as a unfortunate experience that he was was going to credit me back 150. So I accepted it. After 2 weeks to follow up on why the money wasn't refunded, he said he give me a call back . Never received it. I called this place twice this past and got the same response. Finally went today and talked to him and he wanted to only credit less then want he wanted told me the day I accept it. Unprofessionally of him for walking away for not accepting of his offer. Aren't you supposed to meet the customer halfway at least?Horrible experience and never will rent a car here for the Atrocious location again read more

I had to rent a car for four days after I had a delay getting into my lease, and they worked with me and made the experience seamless and stress free from when I picked the car up to when I dropped it off. After having me waiting outside for 10 mins in the cold to see a rental in the lot, he then explained to me and the entire store that I was unable to rent that particular vehicle because I didn't have a credit card although he never asked!! (he assumed in his statement). You can tell the difference in service towards certain "types" of people at this location. I will be sure to tell any and everyone that I come across to stay away from this location unless you like feeling belittled!!! I would put the young man's name but he never told me his name nor did he give me a welcoming experience. Believe it or not... The manager for that branch forgot to check in the car, and they ended up charging me for an extra 10 days... After I called them they were like ....sorry sir,but we have to charge you... That is not the end of the story.. They also send me a bill for car damage ... Initially they make you think they are nice and they don't care much about the minor scratches... But be aware they will charge you for even the old ones.. Just to scam the insurance...
