Professional staff and nice but the tiny car was scratched all over and they charged me over $500 for a week for this car, totally not worth it but we are from out of town and out transmission had to be rebuilt so we needed a rental. Rented from Enterprise many times typically for about half the price charged here. I won't be a return customer. read more

This time they were able to work with another location and came and picked me up from the collision repair in Horseheads. I have dropped off a car here from Newark Airport, rented a Jeep to go up to Lake Ontario and see a pier and Wickham Farm sunflowers on a day trip, and today am renting a car today while having a highlight rewired on my personal car and was given a very nice quality car! read more

This enterprise location is great. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I hit a deer and had to get a rental. My insurance placed a reservation with this company. I called the location the next morning just to make sure they got my reservation. They did, but only had mini vans available. I figured they would be limited on the types of rentals available since it was a last minute reservation the day after Christmas. The associate I spoke to said they should have what I was looking for later on during the day. She told me to stop by at 4:30pm. I got a car I was more comfortable with. Staff was nice the day I picked up the car and also the day it was dropped off. The day I dropped off the car, I was having issues with my wireless service. I asked one of the associates about it and they told me that Verizon had been having issues over the past couple weeks. I needed to be taken to the mall close by. Since I was unable to request a Lyft , I asked the associate if it would be possible to get a ride there. It was 10 minutes before closing, but one of the associates gladly dropped me off. I will definitely do business here in the future again. read more

Where do I begin? This place deserves ZERO stars. First our car breaks down, so my friend reserves a car through the Enterprise app. He called and they told us the car likely woudn't be ready until at least 4:30pm. We get there via a courtesy ride from the car dealer where our car was being repaired, and what transpired next just floored us in the wrong way. "There's 100% chance that there won't be a car today.". Really? She couldn't tell us that over the phone before we artived there? So after an Uber lift to the local airport, you know who helped us? National. They not only had a car for us, we got a lower rate than the small sedan my friend had reserved with Enterprise, but we got upgraded to a full size top of the line SUV, at no charge. We're not using Enterprise again. No simpathy for us being stranded 300 miles from home with a busted car in the shop. read more

Avoid this enterprise at all costs. They are not ready on time, their detailer (car cleaner) is the most incompetent person charged with the responsibility of cleaning a car I have ever meet. The 'help our soccer team' high school car washers do a more efficient job then that gentlemen does. I had to re-clean the inside of the car I rented when I got home, because there was food stuck to the seats. When we questioned the gentlemen, he proceeded to huff and puff, walk over to the rental and spray potentially toxic materials into the car with our infant in her car seat without a second thought. Then threw his hands up in the air and said 'it doesn't come off' the tires looked like the person before us went off roaring with the suv, mud and dirt everywhere. Their cars have an incredible amount of damage on them (not just little scratches, ever car has that) Every car, suv, and van had missing pieces gouged out of bumpers. The women helping us, she didn't identify herself to us, took 3 other families before coming back to us. She ignored us for almost 30 minutes, seemed rushed, and very rude. Didn't provide much assistance to us at all. I can not imagine that women 'picking you up'. read more

Drove into NY from Detroit with a Dodge Durango. Got a flat tire and after Roadside assistance put the used doughnut tire on I came here for a replacement. Received the biggest piece of garbage Nissan Morano. It's substandard to what I pulled in with, had no satellite radio which I paid extra for, and everytime you turn the car off the radio presets and clock default back. My sales guy in Detroit had been calling all over New York and no one is willing to switch it out. read more

Recommended. A few years ago I previously rented from them a few times - had issues with second hand smoke. This time around - the car was genuinely clean and smoke free. They have gotten better. The person behind the counter made a courtesy call to make sure everything was OK. Service behind the desk is fast and friendly - good rates. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional staff. The manager Ashley is extremely condescending and instead of addressing my concerns repeatedly diminished them with statements such as "Well the facts are," "You seem to be getting upset," etc. Rent from Hertz or at the very least a different Enterprise location if you've become accustomed to just a standard level of customer service. read more

Called the local fox dealer who gave me the number for their in house Enterprise car rental counter. I ask the operator from Foxes if they actually had people working the counter there and she yes of course. Called the number and it goes directly to their corporate reservation not in Painted Post. I make my reservation and I plan on picking the car up. I later get a call sent to my voice mail stating they do not have a car for me and to contact them on Monday because they are closed on the weekend. I called the number back that I received the message from they refer me to their office in Horseheads. I call that number and that goes directly to the corporate office. I need to include that this is on Friday morning during normal working. Not sure who manages this local Corning Painted Post Elmira Enterprise outfit. But it appears that they don't actually want to speak to the customer 1 on 1 because the local numbers go directly to the corporate office. There is a disconnect between the corporate and this so called local Enterprise offices because the corporate office doesn't really know car availability there. read more

Terrible customer service. On Thursday, July 30, 2015 I arrived at Enterprise to pick up my car for a trip to New York City. Although I had reserved it several days earlier, no car was available. However, I would be "upgraded" to a large SUV or minivan at no charge. I didn't want a large vehicle because I would be driving in NYC traffic, but had no choice. I took the minivan, which had not been properly cleaned. Besides food crumbs, there was a dirty tissue on the floor and (I kid you not!) a bugger wiped on the dashboard! read more

I will never rent a car from here again! I needed a rental for a couple days while my car was being repaired. They gave me a Dodge Journey that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and there was obviously something wrong with the transmission as well. I returned it less than 24 hours later. Why they would rent this vehicle out to someone is beyond me. To top it off my father needed a rental as well...early the next day he was stuck at a convenient store right before work because the car wouldn't start. These cars are obviously not cleaned or inspected well and not reliable at all! read more

I have had the worst weekend ever . first on Sunday my account got hacked and so all of my money and card is frozen.. Then today I get hit by a car and need a rental. Delt with all the insurance stuff and they set me up with enterprise.. Nice right?? Wrong.. I go there to get the car that the other insurance company is paying for and I need to give them my card for a 1$ deposit .or 150$ money order.. Which would be fine but I have no money because the account is frozen.. And it has to be in my name.. Who cares who's card they get as long as they get there deposit!!. Now I have to figure out how I can get to work for the next three weeks while o try to get my card fixed.. Not happy and never will do any business with them! read more

By far the worst experience I've ever had to encounter with any car rental co. I've always rented from this office when in town and have been a loyal customer for years. My fiancé made a one way reservation ( might I add : that didn't state a one way extra fee)and was unable to use his co. CC during pick up. So the res was changed into my name and I used my personal cc instead. They explained the hold on the cc as I already knew, but didn't explain the charges for a one way different drop off location. As usual they hassle u with the insurance purchase and proceed to hand u a clip board and state "initial here, here , here, & sign here". All normal stuff. But never explained the charges or a one way fee drop off. Assuming one should already know, I guess. Then they give me a car that had numerous scratches and dents, reeked, had a crack in the windshield, and no brake pad rubber. As I already waited forever I took the car and began my 8 hour trip. Let me remind u they were trying to get rid of their junk. Only to turn around and return the vehicle after having my foot slip off the brake pedal noticing I had no traction to stop this vehicle. I immediately returned the vehicle only to wait some more. After 2 other vehicles with mechanical problems, I finally got one that would make it so my trip wouldn't be a disaster or at worst an accident. Upon return of the vehicle the following day, the kind gentleman in Maine stated the charges and was clearly upset for us that we had no idea what we were going to be charged for, before accepting the vehicle in our home town, & this is not common practice. We called the pick up office only to get treated as if we were dumb. We called corporate to continue being treated poorly and told to take it up with the Corning rd. office. To no avail after much push and shove and ruining time from our work trip and upsetting both my fiancé and I, we kept the car so we can return it to the place of pick up, got charged for daily rent fees, and only had the late drop off fees on our way home Taken off our bill. Yet we still had to pay for 2 days of rental fees and take 2 vehicles back home, plus gas, plus no way to change drivers during our long trip home. When we dropped it off, there was no apology, no asking about our trip, or the car. The air was silent. Definitely making it awkward. They walked around the car twice and double checked the vehicle, as if we destroyed it. Also checked the interior several times!! Not common!!! Terrible customer service from Allison (mngmt) and Karen( corporate) prior mngmt really knew how To satisfy his customers and keep them returning. I will never rent from them again. Go to the Elmira airport for sure and rent from budget. They are very clear on their charges and seek ways to save u $$. Customer service is superb. Beware of the safety of your vehicle if renting from the Corning rd. office. And double read and check the small print and charges on the invoice. If I could give zero stars I would have. read more

On December 24th, 2013, I contacted the enterprise at the Elmira-Corning Airport in NY with an urgent car rental as my boyfriend and I were trying to get to my family in New Jersey. We had car trouble on our way from Buffalo and after being at an auto repair service for 8 hours had to finally resort to a car rental place. We contacted the woman at the desk about 10 minutes before it was supposed to close and told her we would be on the way but might be there slightly later than the closing time of 6:00pm. She harshly told us that she would not be waiting for us past 6:00pm as it was Christmas Eve and she had something to do. I was heartbroken as I was trying to get to my own family on Christmas and was forced to stay in a hotel over night and now am waiting till morning to use a different car company. So not only did her incredibly poor customer service inconvenience my Christmas vacation, our money went to one of your competitors. I am incredibly upset with the experience. read more

I made a reservation at this site (it's located OFF the airport a few miles away). I did so to try and save a few bucks.... on my drive to the rental site I received a call at 10am from Stacy the manager letting me know that he had no cars available as they were being serviced. My pickup was scheduled for 11 and I was running a little late so I figured they'd have something by the time I arrived. Long story short at 11:30 he was still unsure as to when I'd be able to pick up a car and that he'd call when they had something. He even recommended that I keep the one way rental I had from Budget because he wasn't sure when he'd have a car. Thankfully the Enterprise sit on Sing-Sing Rd at the airport was able to help me out! At 1pm Stacy still had no cars and I cancelled my reservation. I appreciated his phone call letting me know what was going on, however, it is unacceptable customer service to be unable to honor a reservation! read more
