Where do I begin? Breakfast during Glassfest, waiting about 5 minutes to be seated while hostess was working on checks with a waitress. Coffee and juice delivered to the table. Juice was okay. Coffee lukewarm. Problem, no way to stir creamer and sweetener since there weren't any spoons in the rolled silverware. Cheese omelette with ham was the only warm thing on my plate. Cold hash browns and English muffins. I didn't check out the buffet which was another option. I didn't see any staff checking the stations to see if any items needed replacing. Sunday, we had the buffet, not much better than Saturday's ala carte. Dried out scrambled eggs, pancakes that couldn't be cut with a knife. Only good thing was the bacon. $16 for the buffet, beverages separate. For the amount of the room, you'd expect a decent breakfast. Update, the hotel refunded both breakfasts. My comments have been shared with the restaurant's manager and the hotel's general manager. read more

Ordered the salad here for dinner, and oh what a huge pleasant surprise, fresh, fruit, fresh vegetables, and feta cheese, a perfect touch and complement to the salad. The dressing was just the right 1 for this salad, can't remember what it was. The servers were hopping and the crowd kept them very busy, they were as efficient as could be under the circumstances. All in all, they carried their jobs out well. The entertainment that evening was Virgil Cane and wow, WOW, such an artist, A one-man band, he can play 7 instruments very well. Waitress was charming - had to get bartender to provide insight on wines but it was her first day (FYI the Meritage is a very drinkable red). The Buffalo chicken egg roll was insanely crispy, perfectly spiced, stuffed full egg roll; days later I still remember the crunch and heat. I opted for ranch dressing to dip instead of the blue cheese (which came to the table anyway and looked rich and creamy and generous in serving!). Bar area did not open until 4pm on Thursday but was worth the wait. Live music in the courtyard was a treat. Great vibe but may need more staff (doesn't everyone these days). I ate breakfast here during a short stay at the hotel and it was okay but nothing special. The bacon and egg muffin I had tasted fine and I appreciated having a bit of fruit to go with it. I doubt the ingredients were anything out of the ordinary. The muffin was standard grocery store quality as was the fruit. The presentation was no better than if I quickly threw together a breakfast at home. Actually, that's exactly how it looked. There isn't really a compelling reason to eat here other than one of convenience, but there were no major negative aspects. The service was friendly and prompt and the order didn't take long to get to the table. We started with apps 1st thing a pot sticker is not a boiled wonton. The calamari were soggy. Ok hotel apps let see how the mains are. Nope got even worse. The pearl couscous was under cooked and nothing added not even seasoning. 6 scallops on the plate 5 looked perfect 1 looked undercooked. All tasted rubbery and bland. The salmon was shaped in a triangle, seared one side, barely cooked the other, raw in the middle and inedible. For $108 I expected WAY more. Terrible brunch experience. A group of friends and I were there and it was actually comical how bad it was. We ordered bloody Mary's which came out after about 20 min with old looking celery, no straws and they were not good at all. A couple of us ordered poached eggs and they were completely hard boiled. The brunch bruschetta was on soggy stale bread and the French toast looked like it was dipped in egg and never put on the grill. I had a side salad and asked for balsamic. It came with Italian dressing which was the server said was balsamic. Fine I like Italian too, but it was completely gelatinous and inedible. We were there for over 2 hours for service and food that I would frankly be embarrassed of. We expected much more from the Radisson. What a bummer read more

I have lived here since 2006 and have been to the Radisson for many big events but have never come here to eat so I figured I should finally go! The place They located inside the Radisson hotel they have a bar in the main lobby of the hotel with a seperate dining area adjacent to the lobby. They have curtains that separate it from the lobby which is kinda weird. Although it is very well kept and cleaned. The staff They staff was great our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She always made sure our glasses were full and even made conversation with us. In fact one lady in my party asked about a red wine and she admitted she wasn't sure. She proceeded to grab one of the other waitresses who was more familiar with them to help her. I love that! I wonder how many people just say something when they have no idea what they are taking about! Kudos! The food I ordered the Bacon wrapped Pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes. It was amazing I wish I could remember the sauce it came in!! It was very tender and cooked to perfection! Not to mention I love when a place puts a different spin on a dish. One of the downsides to living in a small area you will have trouble finding a lot of places that serve dishes outside the norm hence when I saw bacon wrapped they had me! For dessert we asked the waitress what she recommended she said we are known for our pecan ice cream balls. SO ordered that and my wife had the keylime pie. Basically it was a ball of ice cream with pecans all over it drizzled in fudge. It was ok but nothing special. The verdict I am a fan my food was above average and something I can't get anywhere else that I know of. My only complaint was the dessert. Yes, in this re-review, I've upped the number of stars for the Corning Radisson's food from 2 to 4! Two recent visits to the establishment highly impressed me. Were my first three visits a fluke? Or, have they finally stepped up to the plate? Whatever it was, I'm ready to go back again and again, as long as they continue this higher standard. On September 26, I attended a retirement breakfast in the Carder Room. Beautiful photos of glass art on the walls. Lovely room, well-lit. Set up for sixty people, 10 tables. Neither the room nor the tables were crowded. I liked that the tables were simply "dressed"~only a large cloth napkin beautifully placed in the center of each table. We served ourselves from a large buffet with french toast, sausage, bacon, fruit and plenty of other expected breakfast food. Good food. A white, bubbly grape juice at each place setting for the retirement toast. Orange juice, too, plus ice water and coffee. Plenty to eat and drink. I do wish the servers had made it around sooner for the second offering of coffee. Acoustics were good. Microphone worked. Then, the next evening, September 27, a friend and I had dinner at the Radisson. First we settled in the lounge for a before dinner cocktail and conversation. Entire place was crowded, but not noisy or unbearable, for a wedding reception. Some servers must have assumed we were with the wedding group, because we were offered tasty hors d'oeuvres... bonus! Shortly before we were ready to dine, the large celebratory group moved to the banquet room. No more hors d'oeuvres :) Service is always excellent at the Radisson, whether eating in the lounge or the dining room. We moved to the dining room and I started with a Chèvre Phyllo Purse with Clover Honey-Creme de Cassis Glaze (see photo) Phyllo delicately gathered around a cheese filling and placed on a honey glaze. Delicious! My dining companion (heretofore known as DC) asked for his favorite, squash soup (photo), which wasn't on the menu, but was available, so he was very happy. Salad came with both our meals. DC topped his with creamy AND crumbly Bleu Cheese; I choose a raspberry vinegrette (photo). Greens were very fresh; dressings were perfect. DC's main plate was Beef Tournedos with a Balsamic Scented Demi Glace, Roasted Cipollini Onions and Seared Fingerlings (potatoes). I dined on the sweet and savory Roast Salmon with an Orange-Miso Glaze, Pickled Ginger Cucumbers (sweet and amazingly delicious) and a Wasabi Potato Puree. Wasabi Potato Puree is simply mashed potatoes with wasabi stirred in. Not too much wasabi and I could have stood a bit more. Everything on my plate was the best! We quit eating our entrees about halfway through and boxed them up. Plenty of leftovers for the next day at home. Huge servings! I also posted photos of our salads, entrees and desserts... DC asked for the Pecan Ball ~ a large ball of vanilla ice cream rolled in chopped pecans. Chocolate syrup poured over top. I had the tasty and satisfying Chocolate Peanut Butter Terrine. read more

I have eaten here quite a few times and I have been pretty happy with what I have gotten and the service. Yes, it is in the hotel, but that doesn't seem to be a big deal on how they interact with people and with good food. I've been here for happy hour, corporate events, birthdays, and dinner so it's pretty eclectic in events. There is a lot to choose from to eat and drink. As an appetizer, I really enjoy the pretzels. The pretzels and dip are probably one of my most favorite things to order and are a MUST HAVE when visiting. Shrimp cocktail is expensive, you only get 4 but they are very large and if you want to splurge, I think you should. Friends have loved the Crock of Meatballs (I stay away) and they usually order it all the time. I have ordered the Seared Lemony Scallops; not bad but I have had better, the sauce was too thick for me but I loved the rice with it. The salad and balsamic with goat cheese is delicious. I would order that again but it's better at other places on Market St. I had the chocolate tart for dessert and the special - peppermint ice cream cake, both were delicious. The drinks are good. The service has always been very good, very attentive and friendly. I haven't encountered anyone with a bad attitude and I really enjoy that when eating! You can rent out the side room for small parties and corporate events. It's a nice atmosphere, it can be very romantic/classy but fun for happy hour, as well. I definitely recommend trying it. Decent dinner for a hotel, prices were very fair for the neighborhood! We started with the cheese and charcuterie board. Generous amount of cheese- 4 different kinds, dried apricots, fig jam and probably the only downside just one meat which was kielbasa. I found the kielbasa to be an odd choice to accompany a board like this but maybe it's a local meat choice? For dinner I had the flat iron steak with blue cheese. It was good- my complaints would be that the string beans were super salty and I ordered the steak medium rare, it came out rare. My friend had a simple burger and fries. He liked it. We sat outside on the patio. I loved that they had heat lamps. It gave us an opportunity to enjoy dinner outside even though the night time air was a bit cool. read more

I always stay here when I am visitng home! It is cozy and nice. The bar is really relaxed and the bartender always remembers what I drink even if I havent been back for six months. Sit anywhere in the bar and a little dish of salted nuts will appear - YUM!! The rooms are always clean and quiet. If you get a room facing Denison Pkwy remember that it will have traffic noise. If you are here for the holidays remember to ask about their Home for the Holidays rate which is a great deal. I always bring my swim suit for a trip to the hot tub....so relaxing! (It is only open till 10pm and they are strict about that grrrr!) My sister loves to stay here also because of the great pool. During Lent they have a seafood buffet for $32 which is fantastic! Huge variety of seafood which for Corning is better than you would expect. Great job guys - see you again soon! read more

We've stayed in Corning several times at the Radisson and every time we either have breakfast or dinner at the 125 and every time the service is great and the food is wonderful, not overcooked like some other places and done just right, so we enjoy our meals. The prices are little high for the place like Corning as far as I am concerned but not outrageous and the place is pretty busy and not just for the folks that stay at the Radisson. read more

Shrimp cokctail, very small portion, though the shrimps were big. The por stickers are not properly executed, i cant believe they still brought them out, the skin were torn. I wasn't expecting much from a hotel restaurant, but my friend and I were both pleasantly surprised to enjoy some of our food. Our server was witty and just the perfect amount of hovering/leaving us alone to catch up. The menu is small but has a variety of offerings to suit most diets, if not tastes (nothing spicy, some sumac usage as it grows locally, but again, I don't expect innovation). I ordered the steak with chimichurri, extra vegetables and no rice while my friend ordered the scallops over pureed squash and I-forget-what vegetable. Both came with mesclun salad that should have carrots, tomato, asiago and were ordered with dressing on the side. Both salads arrived with a small lake of dressing in the bowl that made them basically inedible. I also never located the asiago?!?! Dinner arrived and our waiter cleared the salads, asked if all was ok when seeing they were both untouched. We explained too much dressing and it seems he forgot that we had both asked for it on the side, so never apologized but offered to bring new salads; which made no sense now that our main course had arrived. Nor would I want another small bowl of wilted greens with three small shreds of dried out carrot and one hard, unripe cherry tomato cut in half, all bobbing about in dressing. The steak was misshapen (thin on edges and thick in middle-I am talking 3/4" difference?!?! what cut is this?) meaning the outer region was well-done and the middle was raw. Also, no chimichurri. It took a quick mention to our waiter who apologized and quickly brought it out. The sauteed green beans and red pepper were excellent, crispy and flavorful, seasoned enough but not overly. I could have made a meal of just those veggies, which I did! Dinner for 2 people, no appetizers, 2 glasses of wine, 2 coffees = $100. Not worth it--but we were cold, exhausted, and hungry. Had dinner here shortly after I arrived in Corning. Waited at the front desk for missing hostess. Showed us to a nice little table near the atrium...then, forgot about us. Waitress-devoid-of-personality finally arrived....then, forgot about us. Food finally arrived cold. Told the waitress that food was cold....she could not be less interested. Had to get up and search for waitress so we could pay our bill. When we left a group of employees stood around front desk chattering. Didn't even see us leave. To me, good service and good food go hand in hand. Will not spend another dime at this place. Better places to eat in Corning and surrounding areas. This hotel was well worth the money to stay here. During our stay in Corning we bunked that the finest hotel in the town! It is in downtown and within walking distance of great local eateries like ice cream shops and diners (Donna's diner). The lobby was extra fancy with a small garden and natural water fountain. Music to our ears! The service attendant behind the counter was very pleasant and checked us in quickly. The room we had was very clean, warmly decorated, air conditioning, and had a powerful shower! I could stay in that shower all day. One downside is we were near the ice machine and it was quite noisy. Also, the walls seem to be a bit thin since we heard people talking late at night. We did eat dessert at the Grill 125. We had a fantastic ice cream pie. And the service was pretty good too! Overall, had a great time! read more

My first visit here and I'll just start by saying the staff was very accommodating and very personable. Always a plus to be treated well away from home. Upon arrival we were put in a room in the older part and the girlfriend wasn't having that. The rooms were old and were a bit more neglected from housekeeping it appeared. In no time we were rushed into a very nice and newer room that was just great. The bar area can be a bit of fun if you are there during one of the nights that has live entertainment. Good pours from the bar for sure. The only other thing I'll say about this place is that it is absolutely the best place to stay if you like walking access to all that Corning has to offer, especially Market Street shops and bars. With that in mind, expect to pay more for less of a hotel room. Rates are jacked up I think based on the fact the selection nearby is very limited. read more

I have had dinner here on many occasions and have been disappointed every time. The food is quite sub par even for a small town like Corning. The "Filet Mignon" is especially terrible. There have been multiple times that I have been given a fat laden poorly cooked and sometimes old cut of meat. The "Demi" is horrible and tasteless. The staff is always quick to comp your drink or even your meal if you are displeased enough. All I really want is food that is as good and the extremely high price I am paying for it. The vibe was upbeat and fun. The tapas menu was extensive. The presentation of food was impressive. The food at Grill 1-2-5 was top notch. The menu offerings were very limited and at 6 p.m. They were already out of clam chowder and one of the entrees .Two orders of salmon were served raw and inedible. The onion soup was flavorless. The scallops looked great but had no flavor. My son ordered a NY Strip steak and was served a filet. It looked great but had no flavor. We ordered room service from them as we were staying in the connected hotel. The food honestly was gross. I ordered crab cakes, they tasted like tuna. I couldn't even eat them. The cheese tray was literally triangles of sliced cheese from the grocery store, looked like Kraft or Sargento with dried apricots and some sausage which was good. My daughter liked the burger but hated the buns. The only edible thing was my husbands onion soup and even that was not great. 65$ I expect something much better, do not recommend this place at all. read more

Came to Corning NY to visit the glass museum. What a great hotel!! Right near everything. Wonderfully friendly staff, very clean room with sleep comfort setting beds! Will definately be the place to stay next time we're here. Room Service till 10pm & the bar is open till midnight. read more

Okay, bare with me on this. This review is based on the Easter Sunday buffet. First of all the food quality is quite good. Very good in fact. My big complaint is it is very expensive, $35 per person. My wife and I felt it was a $20-$25 dollar buffet.Had that been the price it would easily be another star. The selection was not that great. What there was, was very good, but one would expect, a Seafood selection other than Smoked salmon and Almond encrusted Haddock (I think) it was good though. The carving station was just a prime rib, and Lamb. The desserts though were very good, and a decent selection of them There was an Omlet station and breakfast fare. Nice, but who cares? On the plus side the restaurant seated quite a large number in 90 minute shifts, and we were seated quickly, and never felt rushed.. The staff was very attentive, friendly and professional. Each diner had a choice of a Mamosa or Bloody Mary. We just felt it was too expensive for what was there. I usually don't complain, but $90 (Tax and Tip for 2) for a buffet dinner, with a limited selection just seems excessive, We're in Upstate NY, Not NY city. We probably won't be back. read more

Room curtains were working, but broken and damn near impossible to slide. Ceiling had stained areas. Beautiful lobby. Friendly front desk person. Elevator was having problems and had to walk to third floor. Was fixed that day. Indoor pool was great and decent size. Outdoor jacuzzi was hot and large. Our family has stayed at this hotel several times over the past several years but never ate here. They re-did the bar/lounge area and it's much more inviting now. Because of this, my husband and I went for a cocktail one night and ended up getting a few appetizers which were very tasty. We liked what we saw on the menu and decided to come back for dinner after a couple of mediocre dinners at other local restaurants earlier in the week. Great decision! Super lovely wait staff, fast service. Everyone was very happy with their meal (chicken caesar salad with homemade dressing, Thai beef salad, chicken & green onion quesadilla with sc & guac, salad with planked chicken, fabulous shrimp cocktail, and more). We also enjoyed a fantastic breakfast here one morning--great muffins and the eggs mornay are a must! There were several other items on the menu I'd like to try, so I think we'll be coming here more often in the future rather than taking the risk of getting another mediocre meal on Market Street.
