Clean new cars without a bunch of red tape. My dealer provided me with a replacement when they realized they would have my vehicle for longer than planned. I was surprised when less than 5 minutes later the car was delivered by a friendly guy from Sixt Rent A Car. The paperwork included a sign here and the keys. Drop-off was just as easy; I just told them where I parked the car. I didn't pay anything for the use of the car that day, but I did check the rates since the experience was so pleasant. For the Indy area, the rates were comparable, if not a little lower, than the competition. I used the rental location on the North Side of Indianapolis, which seems to be their thing with other locations at the airport and Fishers as well. We had a great experience renting an SUV from Sixt. This was one of the less expensive rental car places we found in this area of Indy, and the car we got was great and turned out to be very fuel efficient, too. It was easy to book a car online, the type of car we booked was there with a full tank of gas when we arrived, the car ran smoothly during our trip with no problems, and returning was easy. I have nothing but good things to say here. This review is boring, but that's OK because you kind of want a car rental experience to be boring and straightforward, right? The branch manager was extremely aggressive & condescending to the young lady in front of other employees + customers. Once it became my turn I received the same treatment. DO NOT use this rental car company. The car was defective. The tire kept going flat, and I had to keep stopping at gas stations and filling it. At great time and expense to myself, I went back to the airport where I received the car to get a new car, and in spite of the fact that SIXT gave me a defective car, they still charged me for fuel in the defective car that I was trying to return before the low tire inflation really damaged their defective car. Then even though their person checked the whole car out when I returned it, they still after the fact, long after I was gone, called to tell me that the car was damaged and they are trying to stick me with a $600 bill. This is not a legitimate company. I rented a car for Sixt, received confirmation, including a confirmation number. However, since Sixt didn't have the vehicle I requested, they just didn't have a car for me. They never told me they didn't have the car, they didn't call or email or text anything. So they day of the rental when I called, I "spoke" to someone who spoke very poor English and did not understand anything I was saying. So conclusion, they didn't have the car they said they had and instead of offering me something else or giving me any advance notice that they did not have the car, they simply did and said nothing. I received a Hyundai Santa Fe, in which the car smelled like stinky, sweaty boys. Once inside the vehicle, there was trash in the console. The trash consisted of items used to build immunity/fight off. Now, after being in a rented vehicle, that was not clean, I'm under the weather and have infected one of my grandchildren too! Horrendous customer service. The car was fine, but I was told when I went to pick up the car in person that I could drop it off on Labor Day (Monday) at anytime as they would not be open. Awesome right? Turns out, I turned it back in 6 hours past the due time (again, not something I was made aware of) and they charged me for another full day. If I had known about the return time I would have brought it back at that time, but I was under the impression (again because I was EXPLICITLY TOLD SO by an employee) that I could bring it in anytime on the return day. I have the platinum membership through a professional membership. Got the Jaguar E Pace without expecting it. Perhaps there just wasn't as many people in the place. But everyone was quite pleasant. 9/27 - Stay far away from this business. The situation: My son had to use their service because the dealership was out of loaner cars. After he left the agency the Audi A3 TPMS sensor was triggered. It was a cold day so he didn't worry. His Audi S4 does the same thing on cold mornings. Fast forward from Wednesday 9/22 to Sunday 9/26. He was out with friends the tire went flat while sitting at his friend house. So he changed it. Upon removing the tire from the car he discovered it had serious damage on the backside of the tire. Monday; returning the car we reported the issue to the ladies at the counter they said that it was not possible that the TPMS monitor would have gone off they don't rent vehicles with warning lights. The lady promptly said she rented the car to my son and there is no way she missed it. That was lie number 1 my son stated that he picked the car up at the Audi dealership and a guy with an accent rented it to him. She seemed confused. Then she said oh that was the General Manager and there is no way he would have missed that. This would have been easily missed on a walk around and since the tire was holding some air reasonable to believe that at the dealer the light was no on. She then handed him an incident form and stated their fleet manager would look at the car and decide what would happen. She further said she would look at the video from the vehicle to determine what happened. As of this writing they have not provided video or the car's sensor logs. The dealership (fleet manager) said the car hit a pot hole and immediately lost air. This is BS (see the pictures). Now they want to charge us for the tire, wheel (it cracked), and an alignment. Anyone that has blown a tire from a pot hole and driven on that tire will have sidewall damage and rim damage like abrasions on the circumference. Clearly the car was not moving when the tire failed. My son didn't hit a pot hole either. Be warned; the customer is not always right with this merchant. I am happy the tire failed siting in a driveway. Ever have an "immediate" blowout while driving? Ultimately, it is our word against theirs, disappointing that they have to make us the bad guy. The story is not over. read more

Reserved a Camry online which was $88/day. This rental qualified for a 25% discount which made it $66/day. SixT emails the paperwork instead of giving actual paperwork to you I ended up needing the car a few days longer and called to extend it. When I returned the car, I was told their computers were down and they would email my receipt to me. I was charged $133/day. When I called to express my concern and have it adjusted, I was told it was my fault for not checking my bill when I returned the car and then was hung up on. They also stated their daily rates fluctuate... I find it hard to believe a car can fluctuate that much . Horrible experience. read more

I got a great deal on a PCar. The website advertises their PCar as a Mercedes CLA250, but I ended up getting a Jaguar XE (much nicer). I reserved months in advance for a 2-week road trip and found a discount code online. The daily rate (before taxes, fees, etc.) was less than $19 per day! There was one hiccup with the vehicle I got. The girl who checked me in couldn't start the car (keyless start) so she called over someone to help. He couldn't get it to start either. He had to use the backup method (hold the key fob against a spot on the steering column) to get it to start. Not looking forward to having to do that for the next 2 weeks to start the car, I followed up on a hunch (that the key fob battery was dead). I cracked open the fob and lo and behold --- there was no battery inside. Someone removed the button battery and neglected to replace it. So I pulled a battery from my garage door opener and it worked fine for the 2 weeks we had the vehicle. When I returned the car to Sixt, I took my battery out and went along my merry way. Steven and Breanna have the best customer service and personable attitudes, and while I walked in very exhausted from travelling for a family funeral, I walked out of this Sixt location with a ginormous grin because of Breanna and Steven. Rented from Sixt at this location twice (4 times from Sixt total) and it was great. Clean new vehicles, great loyalty program (just 3 rentals to get Gold status and its perks), friendly service. Got upgraded to a better car two times (one in Seattle, one here) out of four because they didn't have the car I reserved. Loved it. Drop-off can be done after office closes - just put the keys in the box. Mobile app is easy to use and well designed. That's how car rental should be. All at the same or even lower price than competitors. Sixt makes Budget or Avis look really pitiful. read more

Do not rent from any SIXT. Rented car here on 13th of June. Car was fine, it wasn't the cleanest, but was fine, you could tell they tried to wash it off. My biggest issue is with the companies customer service. They emailed me the return check sheet instead of my invoice. The invoice website to go download my invoice gives 403 error and won't let me download, and getting customer service on the phone is difficult. They've hung up on me twice. I talked to one rep who supposedly emailed me the invoice and I still have yet to see it. Avoid the headache and pick a reputable company. Enterprise, Avis, etc. read more

My husband and I rented a car for 2 weeks and when we got the car they never did a walk around the car. When my husband and I got home with he car we noticed that there were scratches on the druvers side bumper. We let it go. We'll 2 weeks later we returned the car and they walked around the car and the lady (she was nice) came In and said there was damage to the front bumper. We told her that it was there when we got it and no one walked around the car. She sent another person out to the car to get the milage and he came back in and said that the damage was fresh. We told him that it was at least 2 weeks old because it was there before we got the car. He continued to argue with us and we just told them that we would claim it on our insurance just to shut him up but he continued to say it is fresh. Finally I got really mad and said a few choice words and walked out yelling and left my husband in there to deal with them. After we left the Nice lady called us and apologized to me and my husband for the jerk that was talking. She also told us that the person that drove the car before us had reported the damage to them and did a report. I recommend never using this location. read more

Terrible experience-- they were the lowest price but NOT worth it!!! The office is 10min from airport and although they have 2 shuttles- you need to allow 30 min to get picked up. In the office I waited in line with 1 guy working the counter- took me 45 min to get out of there- the computers went down and he had to start over for my transaction-- the kicker? They charge a $200 security deposit but don't tell you that! When I saw the charge in my card- I called the manager Jared who told me it was in the fine print of the rental agreement-- very deceptive-- no other car rental company has asked for that. Jared told me it would be off in 72 hrs-- when it wasn't- I called back and was told it takes a week after you return the car. A terrible company that I will never do business with again. Returned the car on the appointed date but close to closing time. The workers did not process my return until the following Monday, which caused the insurance I paid $9 a day for to become invalid, leaving me with a $400 bill for a rock that hit the windshield. Had the Sixt staff actually processed my return before Monday, my claim would have sailed through. I am so disgusted with Sixt. They are lazy and terrible. I would NEVER recommend anyone go to them. I had five Hotwire reservations during this pandemic this week. Four were kind enough to offer full refunds due to the extenuating circumstances. Sixt was the exception. The toll free number just has a busy signal and their website link on the virus has not opened for three days. All I wanted was a credit for when I make up the trip. I did get an email saying Hotwire does not allow but that is not the case as Hotwire is gracious enough to do so if the provider consents. read more
