Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Corporate Needs to See This I am beyond disappointed with how Enterprise handled an elderly customer today. This needs the attention of Enterprise Corporate immediately. My 68-year-old friend is moving from Florida to Pennsylvania. He has a valid Florida driver's license and a confirmed return flight to Jacksonville for a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Before booking, we called Enterprise directly to confirm their debit card policy. We were clearly told that as long as he had a valid driver's license OR a return ticket, he could rent using a debit card. He shows up at the counter prepared -- and the counter agent, Whitney, tells him no. She says because he now has a "local driver's license," he must have a credit card. That is NOT what we were told over the phone. Not even close. He DOES have a credit card -- the chip isn't working. We politely asked if she could swipe it. She said no. We asked if she could manually enter it. She said no. No attempt to help. No attempt to problem-solve. No compassion. Just policy, policy, policy. When I tried to explain what we were told by Enterprise on the phone, Whitney cut me off and said, "Can I talk now?" The tone was rude and dismissive. I said I wasn't finished speaking. She then said, "I don't know what the lady told you but that's our policy," and abruptly said goodbye. When I told her she didn't have to be rude, she said "Sorry, goodbye," and handed him back the phone. That was it. Now a 68-year-old man doesn't have transportation to get from Jacksonville to Saint Augustine for a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Enterprise advertises customer service. Enterprise advertises flexibility. Enterprise advertises caring about people. That was not the experience today. If your debit card policy depends on what mood the counter agent is in, that's a serious problem. If your corporate policy is different from what your phone representatives are telling customers, that's an even bigger problem. This isn't about a rental car. It's about basic customer service and respect -- especially toward elderly customers who are simply trying to make a medical appointment. Enterprise is a total joke!! I had a reservation for a vehicle for the 4th of July weekend. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle. The person at the counter simply stated that they didn't have any cars. And it was like no big deal. And with it being a holiday weekend. All the other companies were sold out. So basically, my entire holiday weekend was ruined including hotel fees smh. After calling corporate 4 times and not getting anywhere what's so ever. I'd never rent from Enterprise ever again!! Enterprise did me dirty. I attempted to fill up the gas tank for the first time and the gas tank door would not unlatch. After calling roadside assistance and making several attempts to open the gas door, by myself and others, I decided I was not in immediate danger and I took the vehicle in for a swap the next business day. Enterprise claims me liable and made me file a claim on my insurance. FYI this issue is on a 2025 Nissan versa with only 22,000 miles and these vehicles have a reputation for issues with the gas door opening. I do not recommend this company. Run! read more

I ordered a mid sized car. Since it was not quite ready, they offered me a black convertible Ford Mustang. Since they twisted my arm all the way around my back, I took it immediately. We were driving back to New England from the west palm area. Our car was not really equipped for the drive, very uncomfortable and we needed an upgrade. We stopped at the Jacksonville Airport and Garrett welcomed us with a nice smile and had a very roomy SUV for us in too seconds flat. We left the airport and got about 15 miles down the highway and there was a call from Garrett - we had left a few important bags in the former rental car. When we got back to the airport I wanted to tip him for his excellent service but he didn't have the ability to break my 100 dollar bill. I honestly thought about giving it all to him- he was so professional. But he told me he loves his job and gets paid well for doing it. I could really tell that he loves his job as he is enthusiastic and well equipped to engage with people - a great ambassador of the Enterprise brand. Update: the fastest reply I received from this company was in response to this review. They replied within minutes. They want to talk with me about this review, but I have to give them my information online. They have my information via my rental and my lost item claim. I location lost a customer for the entire company for life. I will also never recommend any Enterprise location to anyone ever again. The worst customer service after renting I've experienced with this company is at this JAX airport location. They don't answer thier phones, and they do not call you back. I left a hat and hoodie in the back seat of a car rental and after a week from filing a missing item claim on-line, I had to physically return to the location for an update. Once at the counter there is no real sense of care or urgency. This JAX location has me thinking about switching rental companies. If I were you, I at a minimum avoid renting from this location. As far as the end result of my items left behind... You guessed it.. They could not find them. I recently had the pleasure of renting a car from your Jacksonville Airport location, and I want to thank you for the outstanding customer service I received. At first, I was not too pleased but read my story to the end, and you'll understand. When I arrived at the rental office at 11:30 pm, Bryan informed me that they had run out of all rental cars, including the mid-size one I had reserved. The only vehicle they had available was a 13-seater passenger van. After flying for most of the day and still having a 45-minute drive to my hotel, I reluctantly took it. What other option did I have since all the rental car locations were about to close up for the night? As I approached the van, I couldn't believe how big it was. It felt like I was about to drive a school bus! I am short and stand about 5'7. As I climbed in, I was a bit skeptical at first - I mean, who needs a van that big for a solo trip? After all, I had never driven a van this large before, but pleasantly surprised by how roomy and comfortable the van was inside. Sure, it was a bit of a challenge navigating it through the narrow airport parking garage, and my small suitcase with a few days of clothes got a front-row seat. Usually, it sits in the dark trunk. Driving down the highway, I realized I needed to park this massive van at the hotel. Will there be a spot open? Will it fit? How will I get it in a spot between two cars? As I circled the hotel several times, getting increasingly flustered, I finally managed back the van into a tight spot. I was proud of myself. As I got my suitcase out and headed to check in at the hotel, I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. I got a van meant for a large group, but I was a one-man show driving it. I did return to the airport the next afternoon to switch the van out, and your team took good care of me. I got the mid-size car I reserved, and it was brand new; it only had 10 miles on it. I loved the new car smell as I drove it back to my hotel. The one thing that impressed me the most was the apology I received for having to bring the van back and the simple question, "What can we do to make it right?" Overall, I always have a fantastic experience with Enterprise Rental Car and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable rental vehicle. I've been a loyal Enterprise customer for over 10 years, however, after my experience today at Jacksonville airport, I will never rent from them again. I misplaced/lost my drivers license and went to the DMV the weekend before my trip to get a replacement. I was issued an official, temporary license document while the original was created and mailed. I checked the enterprise site before my travel & saw that temporary licenses are accepted, along with another valid photo ID. I have an active, valid passport & thought I was in good shape. Upon arriving to the airport rental lot, I was put right into a car without issue. Upon trying to exit the lot, I was stopped due to my temporary license. The gate operator went and reviewed with a regional manager who told her they could not accept the document & they could not rent to me. I had to back up from the gate and go find this guy to figure out what was going on. He proceeded to tell me the official paperwork I had could not be accepted and there was nothing he could do. I told him I'd been a loyal customer for 10+ years & had just rented in December. I was told it didn't matter and there was nothing he could do. So In extremely humiliating fashion, I had to offload my luggage & figure out what I was going to do. I was stranded, hundreds of miles away from home, all alone & in tears. Well they just lost a long time customer and I'll make sure that I tell anyone who will listen about how I was treated today. Enterprise has always been my rental car company of choice. When I picked up my car at the airport it smelled of heavy cleaner. The next day after sitting in the parking garage the car smelled of vomit. It is un-drivable. I have had to drive it with the AC off, windows down, in the rain. I spoke with online chat twice, roadside assistance 3 times, was directed to go to a enterprise location to swap out the car only to be told when I arrived they actually didn't have a car for me. Was directed to call the airport location, was put on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on. Then a call to customer service with no resolution within the day. Kept being told to drive the car 45 minutes back to the airport but it smells so bad there is no way to drive it there. Also, no one can even guarantee there is a car there for me. Absolutely the worst rental car experience I have ever had. Update: I emailed as enterprise requested but no response was given. read more

After checking out their offerings, I came to a deal, swiped my card, and went to pick up my rental car. The staff was effective in getting me on my way. I had the option of getting my contract in paper or via email. I opted for email, and got it delivered in less than a minute. It was a relatively quick and painless transaction. I rented a car from the George Bush International Airport location. However, I decided to upgrade to a 4 door sports car and everything went well at first. I was informed that the upgrade would cost me $571.99, and I signed the "Rental Agreement." Enterprise modified my Rental Agreement after I returned the rental car and charged my card $2,800 without my approval. Their employee made the mistake and I had to pay for it. I suddenly needed a rental and the awesome folks at the downtown Jacksonville office went above and beyond every step of the way to ensure I was well cared for. Upon my unscheduled arrival, the availability of cars on the first day was not so great, but I got wheels to get me home and back the next day. The second day, I was provided with a brand new 4-dr 4wd F-150, with only 52 miles on it, for a daily rate that was almost completely covered by my insurance stipend. I had to keep the truck for 3 weeks, and the kind, friendly, courteous, professional staff at this Duval Street office kept in touch. I have always had positive rental experiences with Enterprise and this one is tied for first place. Loyalty certainly pays off - for both parties. Customer service here is absolutely top-notch! So helpful and friendly. They make the car renting process really easy. I would advise booking your reservation online first because the prices are always going to be cheaper online than they are if you walk up to the counter wanting to rent a car. When looking to rent a car, prices with Enterprise have always been cheaper than with their competitors. Since this location is located inside the airport, the line can get pretty long. Make sure to bring some patience with you if you've just gotten off a plane and are waiting for get your rental car. We've rented a car a couple of times to go to Mississippi and when we do, I always pick it up very late at night... like around 11:30pm. I've never had to wait that late at night. Then we just leave the next morning. Easy peasy. I know not everyone has the luxury of doing that though. The cars have always been really nice and clean. We've never had any trouble whatsoever. read more

The location is easy to find next to the baggage claim, you get in, get your car, and are on the road in no time just like the commercials? To quote Lee Corso, not so fast my friend. It took 15 mins in line with the service desk playing tour guide for the people ahead of us before we get to the counter. This line moved at a sped probably familiar to immigrants at Ellis Island, I have seen faster lines at the post office. We get the paperwork completed and we're good to go, just pick up the keys, right? Again...not so fast my friend. After waiting 10 mins they tell me they don't have my car and are giving me a "free upgrade despite the fact I didn't pay for one" more like they have to since well..they don't have my car. They disappear for 5 mins without a trace. Upon return, they try to sell me the prepaid gas scam and get annoyed when I don't bite on it. They DID give me 10% off my next purchase when I returned the car and that saved this from a one star review. Even so, if I can find a better rate at a different company I'll probably use that one instead. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise over the years and I have never had any major issues with this company. Even if you make a reservation and they don't happen to have the exact car they promised, they will either upgrade you for the same price or will work with you to make sure you get the car you can be happy with for your trip. This Enterprise is at the Jacksonville International Airport and they usually have a ton of new cars from which to choose. This last time was no exception and we got a brand new 2014 Toyota Camry. It was a gorgeous car and a wonderful experience for about $140 for the week. Peace of mind and an amazing value. Highly recommend! 5 STARS! read more
