They had to know this review coming... and no one from management reached out to apologize for this experience. I had the unfortunate experience of encountering this EVIL woman. I prepaid for a rental car in the amount of $403.86. I was happy to see that someone was working at the counter when I arrived. I walked up to the counter and gave her my reservation number. She asked me if I had a flight information proving I was returning the car the day that I was leaving as well as a major credit card. I told her I did not and she said she COULD help me, but she WOULD not. She told me all the other rental car companies have a policy that you cannot rent a car unless you have a flight going out that day. Also, you have to have a major credit card (I don't. My mortgage is paid off and I have money in the bank, I don't use credit). After she refused to help me, I went back and forth with her requesting the name of a manager which she refused to give me for about 10 mins. In tears, I gave up and went to another rental car counter, feeling completely deflated. The other rental company gladly helped me and I was on my way within 10 mins. After this, I walked up to the counter at Budget/Dollar rental car and said to the woman "That worked out and you're a piece of $#!T." because of what she put me through. She responded by calling me a "White Trash B****." Not only did I have to spend an extra couple hundred dollars using another rental company last minute, I literally had the worst experience of my life. I will make sure I share this experience every chance I get

The car I was given had battery issues while I was out of state. I was able to jump the battery and the car ran for 30 minutes. When I shut the car off it would not start. When I had the battery tested I was told the battery did not have enough cranking amps for cold weather, 2019 jeep Cherokee. (29 degrees Tennessee) I called roadside assistance for guidance and the rep told me that if replacing the battery fixed the problem I would be reimbursed once I returned the vehicle. I wrote down his name and case number. I paid $190 for a new battery and had it switched out with the bad one. Upon returning the vehicle I was told that I would only be reimbursed the $70 upgrade fee instead of $190 battery cost since I booked through Rentalcars.com. General manager said nothing could be done along with on-site manager. I called and put a complaint and was given a $50 voucher with Dollar rental car instead of the money I paid for the battery being returned to me. The lady who received the car back tried to be helpful but really got no support from senior leadership of Dollar. I was told there was no note of the battery issue on my rental from when I called but nobody looked up the case number.

Yuck. Flakes in the passenger door. My pics are time stamped to show we did not make this mess.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Corporate Needs to See This I am…read morebeyond disappointed with how Enterprise handled an elderly customer today. This needs the attention of Enterprise Corporate immediately. My 68-year-old friend is moving from Florida to Pennsylvania. He has a valid Florida driver's license and a confirmed return flight to Jacksonville for a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Before booking, we called Enterprise directly to confirm their debit card policy. We were clearly told that as long as he had a valid driver's license OR a return ticket, he could rent using a debit card. He shows up at the counter prepared -- and the counter agent, Whitney, tells him no. She says because he now has a "local driver's license," he must have a credit card. That is NOT what we were told over the phone. Not even close. He DOES have a credit card -- the chip isn't working. We politely asked if she could swipe it. She said no. We asked if she could manually enter it. She said no. No attempt to help. No attempt to problem-solve. No compassion. Just policy, policy, policy. When I tried to explain what we were told by Enterprise on the phone, Whitney cut me off and said, "Can I talk now?" The tone was rude and dismissive. I said I wasn't finished speaking. She then said, "I don't know what the lady told you but that's our policy," and abruptly said goodbye. When I told her she didn't have to be rude, she said "Sorry, goodbye," and handed him back the phone. That was it. Now a 68-year-old man doesn't have transportation to get from Jacksonville to Saint Augustine for a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Enterprise advertises customer service. Enterprise advertises flexibility. Enterprise advertises caring about people. That was not the experience today. If your debit card policy depends on what mood the counter agent is in, that's a serious problem. If your corporate policy is different from what your phone representatives are telling customers, that's an even bigger problem. This isn't about a rental car. It's about basic customer service and respect -- especially toward elderly customers who are simply trying to make a medical appointment. Enterprise Corporate, you need to review: * Your debit card policy * Your training on handling elderly customers * And the professionalism of your staff, specifically Whitney This experience was frustrating, unnecessary, and unacceptable. Do better. Left my friend stranded 2/26/26

I ordered a mid sized car. Since it was not quite ready, they offered me a black convertible Ford Mustang. Since they twisted my arm all the way around my back, I took it immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed my whip and I am a very happy camper. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The airport signage…read moreclearly directs you to the rental return area, but note that once you enter the garage, the Alamo drop-off zone is located immediately on your left. A quick tip for others: do not rely on garage staff for directions if you are unsure, as an employee misdirected me to the end of the facility, forcing me to loop back around. Once I reached the correct Alamo return lane, the inspection process was seamless and incredibly fast--I was in and out in less than five minutes.

And as you can see from the video, there is a steady line of ants moving their eggs in the back seat. Alamo has been anything but helpful. After returning the car to the airport I was told to wait for a follow-up call from the branch manager. That didn't happen until after I called them back 48 hours later to follow up with my complaint. Stephen, the Assistant Manager, confirmed that a full refund would be issued and mailed to me within 2 weeks. It's now a month later and there is still no refund. When I called customer service back today, I was advised there is nothing noted on the account and no refund was submitted, processed, or issued. Complete garbage service. Avoid the Jax International Airport Alamo at all costs.

I hate to complain about a compliment, and I probably wouldn't even mention it if the rest of this…read moreexperience had been good -- but unfortunately, it was terrible. At the Hertz counter, the gentleman helping us started our interaction with, "You're beautiful." I found that inappropriate and unprofessional. He had a strong accent -- I believe he may have been from Sweden -- and I was having a hard time understanding him, which certainly wasn't his fault. The real problem was that his coworkers were SO loud that I could barely hear him. I kept apologizing and asking him to repeat himself over and over. He finally, and very politely, asked his coworkers to lower their voices. One of the women aggressively turned around and told him/us to "CALM DOWN!" Girl... **you** need to calm down. At that point, I was just ready to get out of there. During the rental process, I was told -- or at least I *think* I was told -- that it would be cheaper to use Hertz's prepaid gas option. Something was also said about toll roads, and I was handed an insurance pamphlet, so I chose what I thought was the least expensive insurance option. Whether declining insurance altogether was an option, I honestly couldn't tell you. By that point, between the noise, difficulty hearing and understanding what was being explained, and the overall chaos at the counter, I basically just said yes to everything so I could get the hell out of there. And I definitely paid for it. I drove a total of **99 miles** and was charged **$87.48 for prepaid fuel**. I'm from California -- I'm very familiar with painfully high gas prices -- but almost $90 in fuel to drive 99 miles is ridiculous, especially after being told that using Hertz's gas option would be cheaper. I was also charged **$44.97 for tolls -- and we did not go through a single toll.** Not one. So I'm not sure what exactly I paid $44.97 for there either. On top of that, my bill included: * $134.99 for LDW * $29.97 for Premium Roadside Service * $87.48 for prepaid fuel * $44.97 for toll charges -- despite using no tolls * Additional fees and taxes **Total: $363.29** For a three-day rental in which I drove **99 miles and used zero toll roads.** The Jeep Wrangler itself was awesome, though, and now I want to buy another Wrangler, so thanks for that added expense too. Kidding aside, the vehicle was great. The customer service and the way the additional charges were presented and explained were not. I should have slowed down and questioned every charge before agreeing to it, but customers also shouldn't have to fight through a loud, uncomfortable, chaotic counter experience just to understand what they are purchasing. I left feeling like I had said yes to a bunch of things I didn't fully understand simply because I wanted to get out of there -- and that is not how a rental-car experience should feel. www.Hertz.com
