So after wasting a hour of my time at Hertz I went to enterprise and drove away in my rental within 5 minutes. They offer additional insurance unlike Hertz. Hertz don't offer you additional coverage if you just have Basic coverage and will not rent to you if you don't. Long story short Enterprise is the best! They are more professional, courteous, and I will definitely be using them from now on. read more

Max Howell was amazing!! I rented a vehicle 1 month ago, and when i was waiting for my vehicle, another customer had health issues and passed out on the floor. This was obviously surprising to everyone in the lobby. Max acted quickly, called 911 and attended to the down customer. He maitained his composure the entire time and handled the sitution perfect. As someone who has been invloved in high level of hospitality, I would encourage all team members to take after Max. He went way above his duties to ensure the safety of the fallen customer and rest of the folks in the lobby. read more

This is who my parents used for a rental car while their car was being repaired. They got a great SUV that was clean and well maintained. Also, they were very accommodating about adding me to the service contract when I visited and provided fast service. The same was true when we returned the car. Extremely courteous and responsive to our needs. If I needed a rental car again in Johnson City, this would be my first choice. read more

It's amazing that 2 Enterprises can be so close together but the service is night and day difference. Go to the closeby Elizabethton location, avoid this place. I rented a car here and they were late picking me up. Also, when I arrived the blond girl working the front made a snide remark after I answered her question about where I was going. Nevermind the fact that it was a memorial honoring airplane crash victims. It wasn't worth my time to even tell her where I was going. Also after returning my car I had to wait an hour to get a ride home even though they had several staff members there...This place needs to be shut down because all loyal customers of Enterprise go to Elizabethton. We originally had a standard size car reserved to rent. We were only going one way from Johnson City, TN to Lynchburg, VA. The number of people and luggage increased, so I changed the reservation to a mini van. The location called me the day before and said that they could not allow mini vans to go one direction, so they were going to let me have a large SUV at the same price. I arrive to pick up the vehicle the next morning and they did not have any large SUVs, they had regular SUVs, but they were not large enough. They let me have a Ford Transit van which had the storage space for the luggage, but the driver nor the passenger seat was comfortable. The Ford Transit is one of the worst passenger vans ever created, but that is for a whole different review. I returned the vehicle to the Enterprise location in Lynchburg, they told me that I had been driving with expired tags. EXPIRED TAGS!! This is absolutely something that the location should be aware of. The vehicle had Missouri places, and they probably did not want to change the tags. The people there were very nice, but I did not get the vehicle I wanted. Also, they need to pay more attention to make sure that all of the tags are up-to-date. read more

Good folks, but so many rules and restrictions. As a regular, they take great care of us, but you have to prove insurance and driver's license every time. They don't always warn you that their specials have mileage restrictions. Car selection is minimal. Pickup option is limited to business and doesn't save you a trip to the rental site. read more

These people are taking security deposits of $400. This really sucks! In 2020, they took $150. Getting that money back on your card takes almost a week or more. read more

Very disappointing that you call a place and they refer you to a website to book a reservation and then finally get to speak to someone (Benjamin) to find out the were over booked by 19 mini vans. I was offered another car at a much higher rate of course so I gladly canceled that on line reservation and booked a car and also received confirmation of car at another company. I have never encountered a more inconsiderate car rental service. My car is in the body shop. Enterprise picked me up and announced they didn't have a car for me. So they told me they would have an SUV for me by 3:00-3:15. After a 45 minute wait past the 3:15 I called. They didn't have an SUV for me but would I accept a new mini van form the airport? I agreed was told I would be picked up at 5:00-5:15. They NEVER showed up! This is not the way to run a business! A phone would have been acceptable but nothing. I left a voice mail telling them I was very unhappy and expected a call tomorrow morning as soon as they open. Until they prove otherwise they get one star from me! read more

Very helpful people. We got in, got our car, and were out in only a few minutes. They were also helpful getting us a larger car because our luggage didn't fit in the compact car we had reserved, then they were nice enough to tell us the best way to get to downtown Jonesburrough and avoid the traffic and closed off roads for the story telling festival which saved us a lot of pain and time. read more

Enterprise on the Bristol Highway has bern slipping recently. The last few cars I have rented have not been washed and did not have a full tank of gas. If this company wants to keep up with it's competitors it's the least they can do. read more

Update- Enterprise tried to charge me close to $500 for "damages" related to my ONE FLAT TIRE. After looking over the bill they sent to the damage loss and recovery team, I was surprised to find that they had charged me for TWO new tires, two new alignments...two of everything. I called the Damage Recovery Team and even they could not understand why I was charged for two of everything. They were fantastic, dismissed the other charges, and applied the $150 I already paid for the damage deposit. I found them to be incredibly helpful and equally confused as to why Enterprise (1) Took so long to file the initial claim, and (2) Charged such an outrageous fee. I honestly believe that the whole thing was a scam. read more

Don't rent from these people. They will blame you for things that you didn't do to the car. This was settled years ago but we went to rent a car and they put me on a national do not rent list. This matter was settled by the insurance company years ago. We have tried to resolve this but they won't call back. read more

Nice people, always courteous. But not always efficient. Disliked the lengthy check-in process even if you have booked the vehicle online. Why not include the names and addresses of two friends on the online booking. And it makes no sense to not include anyone from your household as an emergency contact. If i have a problem, it would be nice if someone in my home knows, rather than a friend. And when you rent a vehicle to someone, it should include a list of how-to locate and do things, when the icons on the dash are unknown symbols. Every dashboard / console layout is different. Was upgraded this recent time to an new SUV, which was fine. But once i got on the road i found how poorly designed the vehicle was. The backseat headrests blocked the rear view. The mirrors were too high and while there was a knob on the armrest that indicated left or right mirror, but you were unable to adjust the mirror with it. And trying to hand adjust the mirror with the window rolled down didn't solve the problem. The air control only had two speeds on or off and one could not adjust the level of air flow. And whatever idiot had the vehicle before had the clock set 2 1/2 hours ahead and of course there are no visible clues on how to change the time setting. Got stuck in bumper-to-bumper on interstate in a downpour and trying to figure out which knob was the defrost was frustrating when you were having to keep your eyes on the road and looking down at the console. All of these things did not add up to a comfortable drive. read more

We are being forced to use Enterprise vehicles now. Basically that is ok although the way it is being enforced is pretty lame. I found that I had to add two days to my trip because the local dealer did not open in time for me to leave early in the morning - I had a long drive. Plus, they were not open at the time I would return. When obtaining the vehicle I noticed the windows open - that is fine. But when I drove away I found out why - the vehicle reeked of cigarette smoke - of course there were signs all over indicating to not smoke. I had to leave - not time to return and get another vehicle. I called the dealer to let him know - he basically said 'whatever'. He said that he would record that fact about the smoke but he did not. The vehicle was already 3,000 miles over a scheduled oil change. The dealer knew that I was driving from eastern-most TN to Dallas TX and back. Needless-to-say, it really needed an oil change. It also needed air cleaning - I attempted to do that but not very successful for the entire trip. I also told the dealer that there is definitely something loose under the vehicle as it rattled at every bump in the road. Not impressed with the service. Upon returning the dealer guy (different than the first one) was truly concerned and apologetic. The 'deal' to keep costs down for the State of TN is clearly a deal for Enterprise and administration but pretty much yet another imposition on the folks who are just trying to do their jobs.
