I very rarely leave negative business reviews because I understand that anyone can have a bad day or make a mistake at work. However, my experience at Enterprise on Kingston Pike was so terrible that I feel compelled to warn others. I made a rental car reservation nearly two months in advance for a family vacation. I arrived on time to pick up the vehicle and when I checked in there was an issue with the vehicle class that I had reserved. Andrew, (who identified himself as the assistant manager), immediately became rude, condescending, and dismissive when I asked simple questions about why I could not receive the vehicle size that I had reserved. He seemed greatly inconvenienced by the fact that I wanted to work towards a solution rather than walk away empty-handed. At one point, when I asked what other vehicles were available he made a flippant gesture to the parking lot as if he couldn't be bothered to answer my question with words! He became increasingly hostile during our interaction and I was honestly shocked that he found it appropriate to speak to a customer so disrespectfully. I ultimately left without a rental vehicle and went a few miles down the road to Hertz where I received courteous and professional service. Our family had a great vacation and traveled in a better vehicle at a lower price. If you value customer service, professionalism, and being treated respectfully, steer clear of this place! read more

@Enterprise l was just involved in the biggest SHIT SHOW I've been involved with in a while. I rented a car in Knoxville Tn and it was set to be picked up at 12pm online registration was good with that. I don't pick up early thats not what the agreement is. I pulled on the door at 12:05pm and its closed? Closing time says 12pm? Employee walks out and says they're closed he can't check me in. Nice guy. Cool he doesn't own the business. He says well l can transfer it to the airport. Ok cool thanks. He said what happened to me happens a lot but no one has fixed it. So I uber my ass to the airport. Guy there is right on target. Gets everything going and says "hey l can't rent to you using debit unless you have round trip ticket.." say what? So money in hand as a customer for years but l need a round trip ticket to rent from the airport? He explained why and I'm thinking this rental didn't originate here just complete it for the other store. I don't do credit cards. I have a small one just in case and its not enough for what l was paying outta pocket. The 1st customer service call l was put on hold. It was obvious that employee knew she didn't want to deal with the shitshow l presented to her. So she left me hanging for 25 minutes until l hung up. The 2nd customer service worker stuttered thru the whole exchange, and NO I wasn't yelling or belligerent. But he knew l wasn't happy. I then moved on the Nolan the manager on duty at Tyson-McGhee Airport. He explains it again and was totally cool dude. Doesn't agree with it. So I'll say it for him. The company policy and its shitty ass system with no built in flexibility made for a series of uber trips THAT WERE NOT CHEAP. what is with yall not cleaning your cars lately before giving it to the next customer? my last rental was absolutely disgusting and I didn't say anything until I turned it in (and after literally cleaning it myself-which I shouldn't of had to do) because I was thinking it was just an honest mistake. well this time my fiance needed a rental and they brought him a car that was filthy to which he turned down noting that is obviously wasn't cleaned. then the next car they bring him also wasnt clean and smelled like weed? like whats happened wirh the quality of customer service lately?! I chose this Enterprise branch for a long term rental after a negative experience with a different Enterprise location in Knoxville. The first place was only a few minutes' walk from my hotel, whereas this one was about an hour away (still close enough for walking on a nice day), but it was worth the inconvenience. The employees here are friendly and professional, both in person and on the phone. They weren't pushy about the damage waiver (which I actually did buy, just to have one less thing to worry about when driving down interstates and parking in crowded hotel parking lots), and no unexpected charges showed up on my bills (I renewed the original reservation a couple times). A couple of them were actually a bit lower than expected. My only complaint, a fairly common one with rental cars, is regarding the cleanliness of the vehicle I rented. It was a Nissan Maxima, a free (and appreciated) upgrade from the "standard" vehicle I had reserved. The exterior was reasonably clean, but the interior surfaces of the windshield and front door windows were covered in oily streaks, as if someone had used a greasy cloth to clean them. This was not noticeable in daylight, but when I first drove the car at night, there was a significant loss of visibility through the windshield and window glass, as well as a lot of glare from oncoming headlights. Whoever last cleaned the glass did a really bad job. It may have been another customer, rather than an Enterprise employee, but in any case, it was the company's responsibility to check this sort of thing before renting the car to someone else. I would still return to this Enterprise location if renting a car in the Knoxville area, but it would be nice to see more attention paid to cleanliness, especially where it impacts safety and functionality. A clean windshield helps you to see and drive better. This is important! read more

Extremely disappointed in this location and their call center that booked our reservation. Thank goodness we called before driving there. We we supposed to pick up a 16' truck with a lift gate to pick up a compressor that we purchased. When we called, they indicated that they didn't have it back yet and that they tried to call us (not). Thank goodness for good friends! Won't ever use this company again not reliable and call center doesn't have a clue. Still haven't heard back from them. The call center also lied and said we could get a discount via Costco or Sams club that was incorrect. Not trustworthy. read more

My truck broke down on my way to Florida. I needed a vehicle to drive while my truck getting repaired in Knoxville. Eli showed me a couple different cars and the prices. Had to extend the rental twice without issues. When I returned the car, the invoice was cheaper than I anticipated. Sadly, I'm again disappointed with my rental car experience. I honestly wasn't going to post anything but after receiving two emails decided to update my review. I had made the reservation online and checked back a few days prior to my departure date. I was lucky and found a really insanely low price and rebooked on the spot. The day of, my pick-up time had previously been schedule to be 10 so I called at 9:22 to check-in and get an update for the pick-up. I figured this would get me there around 10 for my reservation. When I spoke to Hunter, he informed me that the reservation was for 10 and they pick up around that time. I called at 10:10 as I had not been picked up yet and was eager to start my 8 hour drive. Emma answered and after I asked about my pick-up she placed me on hold for around 5 minutes and then told me that they were on Kingston Pike (the location is also on Kingston Pike so this wasn't very helpful). I was picked up at 10:36 which was after an hour from my original call and over 20 minutes from when I talked to Emma (the location is only 15 minutes away). When I was picked up by TJ it was expressed to me that they were sorry it took so long but at least I got a good price. I didn't realize that my discounted price would mean that I would be treated differently and that's the impression I got. The car was very basic with nothing special. When I commented about this I was told I could pay the extra $75+ to upgrade (which would still be less than my original booking price) or keep what I got for "such a great price". I was also asked repeatedly about getting the insurance even after I had said no a few times. And again, I was told the comparison of including this with the original booking price and how I would still be saving due to my great rate. Enough was enough. I left for my trip almost 2 hours behind schedule and wasn't feeling good about my experience with this branch. It makes me wonder if I can still use pick-up services with another branch that isn't as close. I feel horrible complaining about this branch as most come off friendly and I rent from there a few times a year, but I am not sure this service is okay. Also, this location does not allow personal cars left on property. So you either find your own ride to the location or wait for the complimentary pickup. read more

My first car rental ever was from This Enterprise. Then I rented 3 more times and overall i have very good experience in terms of pricing. However, I am dropping of the star rating because they do not have the Drop-Off facility. They are close on Sunday. So there is no way to drop-off. You cannot rent a car for Saturday only. You must pay rent for full day Sunday. This is ridiculous. While nearest BUDGET rental allows me to Drop-off even after hours and win me as a customer. Enterprise seriously need to think over their policy or keep loosing customers. read more

While my car was in the shop I had the pleasure of renting a vehicle from Enterprise Rent A Car. I usually drive an SUV and they were able to accommodate me by putting me in a very nice and clean Tahoe. From the moment I came into their store to the minute I left I was given the utmost and professional treatment. They were very thorough during the paperwork procedure and vehicle inspection. Great customer service by staff. Picking me up on time. One small tidbit; When receiving the car there was less than a quarter of a tank of gas. Give me a full tank and I will bring it back full. I am tired of giving gas (money) away by returning the vehicle with more gas than when receive, without and compensation toward a future rental. Come on Enterprise.Take care of business. read more

I rented a car for 3 days in January. However, when I received my bill I was inappropriately billed for an entire month longer than I actually had the car, which obviously made the bill astronomical. Despite speaking to several employees on the phone regarding this issue, it has been over a week since they were notified of the problem and there has been no attempt to make things right. Terrible experience. Terrible service. Terrible attitude. I would never go again. When I pick the car, gas tank is empty, they didn't find it until I call. That's not professional. The staff told me a price which is different from what he showed me latter. If I didn't ask, I have to pay more than I supposed to. Where does the extra money go? Last time that I rented a car from this branch everything looked fine until the stage of the payment. When I was getting ready to pay and receive an invoice I was told by a branch employee that I will not receive a printed invoice. Instead I will receive an electronic invoice later. When I went home I noticed that I never received an electronic invoice for this transaction. When I looked at my credit card statement the bill of Enterprise was more than twice from what it should have been. Since my insurance company paid for the car rental I should have paid only the tax on the rental fee. However, the employee from this branch made a mistake and charged me for Enterprise personal accident insurance although before I rented the car I was not interested in this insurance and my contract with Enterprise showed that I opted out of this accident insurance. I made around 4 telephone calls to this branch and I was told that I will receive a refund for the charge of the insurance which is not part of my contract. That refund never came. I then obtained the money back from my credit card company. However, the Enterprise offices in Knoxville keep on trying to collect my money from the credit card company. Last time that I talked to them they called the Enterprise branch and the branch manager explained to them that the money that I disputed is indeed not part of the contract. She (the branch manager) sent her apologies to me via the person of the Enterprise main offices in Knoxville. I thought that this was the end of the story, however, the Enterprise main offices in Knoxville still try to collect money from me that was not part of the contract. What a huge waste of time! If you ever plan to go to this particular Enterprise branch make sure that you leave this branch with a printed invoice, and that the invoice does not have charges that are not part of your contract. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! Call and ask questions will not find answers just say I don't know. Over charge! When brought over charge to attention they just argued with me then realized they were wrong and just got defensive. When charging me for gas charged for for the fuel size of a full size pick up and for a full tank of gas when returned with only half a tank less. Feel taken advantage of will never trust this company again. Used them monthly In michigan but now i need to find another rental place. I recently returned to live in Knoxville after a long time away. I remembered that I had always had good experiences with Enterprise in general and the Kingston Pike location in particular. This time was no exception. I was pleased with the Ford Escape auto assigned to me. The Enterprise staff was efficient, personable and professional. Although I needed to keep the car a bit longer than expected, they made the extension not only possible, but Easy-Peazy. My experience this time once again validates my opinion that Enterprise remains the best option for renting a car, especially in Knoxville. read more
