Never rent from this place. I rented from here a few years ago when my car was in the shop down the street getting fixed. My insurance paid for the rental and I was on my way. I was told repairs would take up to 2 weeks and the rental company knew that. Fast forward one week I walked out to get my car in the parking lot seeing it was gone, turns out it had been towed and cops came to my place saying I had stolen the rental. I showed them my email reservation and even had them call my insurance. Low and behold, the blonde guy who I am guessing was the manager never put into the system that someone was renting the car, but instead told police I had stolen it. I still had to pay the tow company to get the rental back (the cops said to take that up with the company) then brought it to the company when my car was done in the shop. Then the same blonde guy was so rude to me saying he had tried calling me for a week straight saying I needed to come back and verify my information, and when I didn't answer that is why the cops were called. Mind you, he is yelling at me the entire time he is saying this in front of everyone inside. I tried showing him my phone saying no one had ever called me, but he didn't want to hear it. I still had to pay the 500$ for my insurance, but turns out they had been running my card so much the night before that my card was locked by my bank for suspicious activity, so it wouldn't work when we tried. After several minutes of him being an asshole he finally said I could get cash, but refused to have someone give me a ride to the bank so I had to walk with a boot on my hurt ankle half a mile there and back to the closest ATM. I was finally able to pay the 500$, never got the money back for the tow (which was 400$) then when the other employee drove me to the shop to get my car he apologized for the other guys behavior. I'm writing this two years later because after trying to rent another car years later at a different location I was told no because I was put on a 'no renting list' for this bullshit. So, a raccoon on steroids had a death wish which resulted in a great deal of damage to my car resulting in my needing to obtain alternative transportation. The folks at Enterprise (La Crosse, WI) were absolutely outstanding! From the very first contact right up to returning my rental. Andrew and his staff are killing it in the customer service department. I was made to feel like I was part of the family. They remembered me when I returned and immediately welcomed me back and calling me by name after nearly 4 weeks of having the rental. Having a damaged car is never any fun but the gang at Enterprise kept me smiling and laughing. I could not be any more pleased with my experience with this location. I typically try to only use Enterprise, and if I'm anywhere near the downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin location, it's my preferred location of choice. Thank you Andrew and your entire staff for treating me like family and not just some random customer. In 2010, I first tried this Enterprise, and I was disappointed. For awhile, this place was being run by an irritating woman who seemed like a plus-size exotic dancer. In the three years since my first review, I've rented from these folks many more times, and they've gotten a lot better. They figured out how to use their computers, and the problem with not being able to honor reservations seems to have gone away entirely. The current guy running this place (owner? manager? supervisor? whatever) is named Anthony and he is now the best thing about this business. read more

I am only giving enterprise at the la crosse airport a 5 star rating because of the manager Frank. I was scheduled to pick up my car (for a week) at 8 am, and we get there and noone was there and we were told they don't open until 11. Luckily, frank had shown up shortly after us, noticed we needed help and helped us right away- he was there early for some reason. Anyways, he gave me excellent customer service, answered all my questions, and was super nice when 2 of my 3 credit cards declined which was SUPER embarrassing. So thank you Frank, we will probably be a regular from now on, solely because of you! read more

I have been renting from this location for about 4 years. I usually give them weeks notice when renting, if not, I PHONE them. As with most rental agencies, if you reserve online, the online reservation system does not know what is in stock at the local site. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will also pick you up and drop you off from the rental office. They always give me nice cars in great working order. They even have an after hours drop off box. The only complaint is they are not open on Sunday and only opened for 4 hours on Saturday. That 4 hours is a mad house so avoid if at all possible. The last time I rented for a Saturday they asked me to come on Friday night to pick up the car because they had something like 45 reservations in 4 hours on Saturday morning (yikes). I have tried other places but keep coming back to them. read more

I have a big problem with these people right here,I just rent a car on the website the price it said 300$ and some so I call them back to confirm at what time I have to pick up the car and everting ,I ask them if everything was ok because I had to have everything ready to came back to Kentucky I explain them that I had a family sick on Kentucky ,so they said everything was good to go and pick up the car then when we went there to take the car the first thing was that they don't really have a good service with us idk if it was because they saw that we was Cubans or some'' I'm not sure but when we was there they said that we have to paid 1000$ to rent the car when they never told me that when we was on the phone and they said to me that my mom credit car it was decline were they never swipe her card also they start asking weird question like why you guys came Wisconsin?for what you guys came here? They lie to me also they was asking to us for another type of ID I don't know what other type of ID we was suppose to gave them? Maybe was because they thought that my ID it was fake ? It is not my norm to go out of the way to compliment or complain companies I deal with. Honestly it probably comes down to time and the fact that in most cases unless something was over the top in terms of quality or really, really bad in terms of quality (specifically airlines - lol) that I take the time to complain or compliment. And, in most cases I don't run in to a lot of outstanding customer service. Also, as a business owner for 30 years, I don't like what a negative review can do for a company as everyone has a bad day. Back to Frank and his staff and right down to the guys/gals that do the pick-ups. They really have treated me much, much better than I had ever expected and likely deserve. I pull some last minute pick-ups on them and early returns and they are always friendly and accommodating to fit my schedule. In today's world I find it is odd (in a good way) that they are always happy and smiling. I travel a lot now and visit many enterprise locations and they are always consistently nice/friendly. It is just noticeable to me that Frank and his staff is a level above that. read more

I set up a car rental like a month ago and picked the suv since it was cheap and just as much as the other cars. I arrived and they asked for my credit car and I assumed just like the time before when I rented at a location in IL about 8 months prior that my debit card would work but then the guy helping me passed the buck to this other guy who must have been the manager. He was tall and bald and had dark rimmed glasses. I kind of figured right then that this guy was going to be a major prick but just went with the flow. He then said that I couldn't rent with a debit card and that I needed to have a pay stub that had my address on it that would also have my DL info. I am not sure about anyone else but pay stubs do not have DL info, this guy was a prick and very condescending towards me and once he acted that way I was like heck with it I will be a prick back cause I knew that there was no way he was going to work it out with me. The guy is the biggest douche bag on the planet and if you go there watch out for him because its so obvious that he has never went to how to treat guests or customers. Then I realized he works in Lacrosse and you don't need a personality and that is why its most likely he works at that location. Not saying Lacrosse is bad but when the rest of the population is nice and you are a prick then something is wrong in that situation. There should be something posted on the internet on that enterprise website that says that debit cards cannot be used and that you need utility bills with you and all that before you try and rent a car. I went to the airport and rented a car from avis and it was good to go. A bit more expensive but less the hassle of a prick like I encountered at the downtown Enterprise Car Rentals in Lacrosse. Horrible customer service from the beginning. My husband hit a deer and totaled our car so we got a rental through Enterprise. I feels to me that if insurance pays for your rental, customer service drops. We've gone through Enterprise before, and have never had a problem. To begin with, when I first called, the girl who answered the phone was incredibly rude and curt with me. I asked for an SUV, and she responded with, "you're insurance company doesn't cover a SUV. You're getting a full size car!" Which was a Ford Fusion, and did not seem like a "full size car," but more of a midsize. After driving about an hour on the icy roads to work, I called our insurance company who said that we are allowed $30 a day, anything more then that we pay out of our picket, and Enterprise should have offered that. So I went into Enterprise and spoke with the heavier set girl who was the same girl I spoke to over the phone and was just as rude in person. I asked for an SUV, said I'll pay the extra $4 a day out of pocket. She said that they don't have any SUV's, won't for a few days and to call back later. So I'm stuck with the Ford Fusion. Then a few days later, my husband locked the keys in the car. I called and spoke to a guy, I think his name was Josh. He argued with me and basically told me that I was wrong, and you can't just lock your keys in the car by pressing the lock button on the door handle, that it doesn't automatically lock and unlock if you touch it when the keys are close. I got so frustrated, I handed the phone to my husband who explained exactly what I just told him. He told my husband, "well, I don't know how the cars work." If he doesn't know how the cars work then why did he tell me that what I told him didn't make sense. Maybe because I'm a female.... Who knows. Anyways rent elsewhere!! Not impressed... Made a reservation and got a call when we were five minutes away from picking it up (15 minutes after our scheduled time) and were told they didn't have a car for us. After being put on hold for ten minutes, they told us they were able to "move mountains" to get us a car because they were able to push back another person's scheduled pickup. The guy at enterprise told us they would take care of thanking and apologizing to the other person who now has to wait to pick up their car. I'm still confused why we have to be thankful and apologetic for making a reservation and expecting to get a car at the time we scheduled?? I have never felt more guilty for giving a company my service and money in my life.... And to top it all off, the car wreaked of cigarettes. Definitely not impressed. read more

The personnel at the La Crosse enterprise were great - very personable and gracious. My only complaint is that I reserved a truck online the day I moved. I was promised an F150 or similar. What I got was a Nissan Frontier. Based off the information I looked at online I expected a much larger truck - the lady I spoke to on the phone said it would be a Ford F150 or a Chevy Silverado. The Nissan is smaller in general and has almost a 1.5 ft smaller truck bed! I was moving across the country. I called in and tried to get the larger truck I was promised - I would even drive to a close city to pick it up - and all they had was Nissan Frontiers (which on their website is even classified as a small pickup!) I had to leave some of my stuff at home to be moved when I come home for Christmas -- and worst of all I was still charged the larger truck price. Insane. If a larger truck was not in stock then the booking should never have been made. I could have gone to another company who had the pickup size I needed. read more

I walked in even before they were open on a Friday morning and told them I needed a car to get to Madison ASAP, I had no reservation. I got a call a couple days before my pickup time saying I could get an extra day for free due to inconvenience of the Oktoberfest parades. They were so accommodating and made me feel very special. Horrible company. They treat you like you are special until after your rental is over. They charged my credit card for the rental even though it was paid by my insurance company. When I called them to fix the issue they told me they can print me out a receipt and get refunded from my insurance company. Now, I have to go back and forth with Enterprise and my insurance company to get my money back. Pathetic excuse for a company. read more

One of the worst customer service encounters I have ever had. I called two weeks prior to the day I needed a rental. When I arrived at the business where enterprise was going to meet me they were not there. I waited 30 minutes and then called them. The lady stated that she was anticipating more returns and it did not happen so they did not have a car for me. I had a reservation with them. The reason I needed a rental was because my car was getting fixed. She told me I needed to reschedule with the mechanic. When I became frustrated with her and apologized ( I apologized not her) she stated that it's fine because she had to deal with frustrated people all day. So this tells me that she knew all day that she did not have a car for me and NEVER called me to tell that they would not be showing up. I drove 45 minutes to get to the mechanic to just drive back without any solution. My mechanic scheduled out another 2 weeks later. I had to take time off at work to make this arrangement happen. I should also mention that my reservation was for 4:30pm so she had all day to notify me. She never once apologized. When I finally got a rental and was ready to return it I called to see if they could drive me out to the mechanic after I dropped the car off with them. The guy said he cannot take anyone anywhere after 5:30pm. Not only did I have to leave work early but my husband did as well so we could drop the car off. Upon returning the rental at 6:15pm there were 3 workers at enterprise. So basically not one of them could have taken me? But they have a big poster about how customer service is their main value. In person and over the phone no one cared about my convenience. I was already stressed with the situation I was in and enterprise made it 10x worse. I never once felt like a valued customer. If asked I will never recommend enterprise and will never use them again. read more
