I've been renting from Enterprise for over 20 years with relatively pleasant experiences. However, the lack of professional and rude disposition by their Assistant Manager, Cavella Pratt left me extremely disappointed. I'll pay extra at Hertz or any other rental company to never have to experience her prejudice. She advised a manager trainee to refuse to service me because expressed a preference with whom I wanted to handle my transaction. Please offer some leadership development training to this young lady. - Poor communication. The location where the shuttle would pick us up was not clear. They also did not advise us that the shuttle did not run on Sunday, which would have been easy to mention and save aggravation when we dropped off the car and had to figure out a way to get to the train station. - The car had half a tank of gas on pickup and what sounded like a minor exhaust leak. There was tire pressure notification on the dash after 1 hour of driving, suggesting it was not inflated properly before. - The half a tank of gas left me guessing how much of my own money to spend refueling, causing me to give money away to the company. - I checked in online but was told that information did not transfer to the location. This caused additional aggravation and led me to having to use their insurance coverage, which I did not want to do. - On pickup, they asked me who my employer was, which I find inappropriate and something I've never been asked before in 15 years of renting cars. They also insisted on a secondary phone number, which I don't have, and seems like an additional invasion of privacy. I'm not interested in giving away the phone number of others to rent a car for two days. read more

I rented a Nissan Sentra on Thursday evening and realized the tire pressure was low later that evening. I put more air and after a couple of hours, the tire pressure went low. I brought the car on a switch or look into and they kept me sitting in the car from 10am to 1pm after asking me to go to Pepboys or NTB to get it repaired. I waited 45 minutes to get the keys only to see the vehicle is drenched in water from a mediocre last minute car wash, a hole in the floorboard, and dirt and crumbs all throughout the center console. I returned the car last week and received my credit card statement and they charged me over what the insurance company said they would cover and they lied about it. Firstly, I was surprised to see ANY business rated this high in the area-We call it the PG county curse that we almost expect sub-par service at establishments. You guys surely were right about this Enterprise location! Carmax arranged my rental through my service warranty. Terrell (hope I spelled it correctly) called and left me a voicemail saying they received my paperwork and to let them know when I wanted to pick up. He also mentioned they needed to know at least an hour before and what to bring when I arrived. I called back the next day and Terrell answered the phone. Not only did he remember that he contacted me the day before, he also reminded me AGAIN about my license and a credit card for the security deposit. I mentioned I couldn't come until about 5:30, he reminded me that they close at 6 and mentioned that's a very busy time so I knew what to expect. TIP: I walked here from New Carrollton metro station, it barely took me 15 minutes. Upon my arrival, there were a lot of staff and all of the lanes were open for it being so close to closing time. I was helped right away by Ashley, who was also very personable (and wearing a beautiful dress). The main reason I'm writing this review is to acknowledge the manager. He didn't deal with me directly so I do not know his name, but he was African American, tall, bald, and wearing a white shirt. A family came in AT 6 and tried to pay their security deposit with a prepaid debit card. He knew that was the policy, but still remained calm, called HIS supervisor to find alternate solutions, and provided exceptional customer service to some patrons that did not give him the same respect. I admired how his employees and himself enforced policy without losing their cool. You never know who is watching you and I wish all 3 people I mentioned could get a raise. read more

This Enterprise branch did not let customers into the office due to COVID, and customers instead were instructed to call a number posted on the door. At arrival, I noticed several groups of customers waiting at the front. There was no line or order. A staff member came out to help one, and I asked, "do I need to call the posted number?" He replied, "no, we see you, we'll be with you shortly." An hour later I was still waiting. About 70 minutes after arrival another staff member asked if I'd been helped. I responded in the negative, and after asking for my name and reservation, he advised he'd been trying to call me to see if I was still coming in for my reserved car. Good to know: T Mobile has no signal at this Enterprise branch, and the staff don't provide service unless customers call the number posted at the door. Good luck calling the number if you are a T Mobile user. Well, the vehicle wasn't ready, so the staff member asked me to wait for 10 minutes while they cleaned it. 35 minutes later, they pulled it up for inspection. Soaked, none of the scratches were obvious, and the associate looked it over, saying he couldn't see any blemishes. I got it, noticed the interior was filthy with hair and sticky things in all the cup holders and other nooks. The steering wheel was sticky too, but after waiting for nearly 2 hours, I decided to quickly clean it myself so I could get on the road. With no bathroom available in the office, I drove to nearby Lowe's for a quick break, but upon returning to my now dried rental vehicle, noticed scratches all over the sides. I brought it back to the Enterprise branch. Manager came out to look at it with me. He said, "we know about all those scratches; they are recorded in the system and there is nothing to worry about." I wondered why he stated just 15 minutes ago that there were no scratches, but instead of questioning, just asked him to put it in writing that the damage was already present. Later on the road I noticed more unreported damage, such as a missing fog light casing, and realized the vehicle has likely been in a wreck before, haphazardly fixed, then sent out for more rentals. What I learned: 1) whether or not staff acknowledge you, call to make sure you are on their list. 2) check the vehicle very carefully for damage as staff will not point it out or record it unless you push them to do so; be especially careful if the vehicle is wet because blemishes will be harder to spot. 3) Be prepared for a 1 to 2 hour wait for your vehicle, and do not expect the interior to be clean. read more

I really wish they would update their policy; or just put a sign on the door that explains their company is primarily ran by credit cards. My fiancé came here because his insurance covered a car rental. I guess they failed to tell him that he would be charged $100 so he had to cover the cost and it'll be refunded. My frustration comes from the fact we asked simple questions in regards to payment methods and all of them had to be referred to the manager. I literally waited an hour just to get answers to what I thought were simple questions. I was mind blown that there were at least 10 people waiting for over an hour because I guess there were too many reservations but not enough cars. I was told that they're "cleaning" the car but I can expect to wait another 30 minutes. The whole situation is mind boggling because I was suppose to check out of my hotel by now but instead I'm stuck waiting a car. Inconsiderate! Rented a car from this location at approximately 8:00 pm on a Thursday night for pickup on Saturday at 10:00 am. Well, on Friday morning at 7:45 am, the Manager, Kamal wakes me up because he is calling to confirm pickup scheduled for the next day. We rent a lot of cars, all over the Country and have never had this happen. These people harass you and are not customer friendly. The Area Manager can't be reached. Pick another Brand (Budget, Avis etc.). UPDATE It has been almost a week and the District Manager, Harshit Argwarl At 703-598-1659 has not yet bothered to return my calls to him. I was offered to rent the car which reeked of smoke, so was offered another car which was on the way. It took some time for the car to arrive so the staff offered me pastries while I waited. An example of how not to do business. I rented a car when my car was hit in an accident, I paid out of pocket until repairs were completed. Knowing this, the employees of this establishment got me into a car and charged me for the rental along with roadside assistance and insurance without telling me. I was not told about the fees or that those services OPTIONAL. I didn't know about this until the insurance company made me aware that they will only reimburse me for the rental and taxes and that over 23 days I paid about 440-450 in insurance and roadside assistance. I am sure enterprise as a nationwide company that is highly recommended among drivers makes it regular practice of not informing consumers of what they are paying. I will be pursuing reimbursement for said fees and will take it to corporate level and the BBB if necessary. read more

My insurance company reserved me a rental. & he told me that to pick it up, I would need a credit card. I don't have a credit card so I called enterprise to make sure I could use one of my parents credit cards( the policy holders). The woman told me yes but they would need to be present, so I told her that I would be coming later when my dad got off. I then call hours later when I'm on my way, just to double check and a lady by the name of Monique Clo answers the phone and tells me that my car and reservation is gone because "never called to say I was coming to get it" ... which is a blatant lie and that I would have to come in the morning. Also, she tells me that I CANNOT use my fathers credit card and it has to be in my name, I then, inform her that I don't have a credit card and I was told earlier on the phone that I couldn't use a debit card. She gets an attitude and says "it's the same thing", when it's clearly not. So she finally tells me that if I want to use my debit card I need to bring 2 different utility bills in my name. I tell her that, that's absolutely ridiculous and that I have never heard of anything like that before, also I have no utility bills. She says, "then you can't pick up the car and you have to switch the reservation to someone else's name". I then hang up on her and walk in the enterprise and my dad walks up to the counter (she wasn't there at the time), and he gets my reservation while USING HIS OWN CREDIT CARD (even though the res. Is under MY NAME) and MY CAR WAS READY SITTING IN THE LOT! I don't know why she would lie for no reason or have a terrible attitude but I had the worst experience on the phone with her, just to walk in and them take care of me in less than 30mins??? I was VERY pleased with the level of customer service, swiftness and vehicle options that were available, especially since I made an online reservation moments before my arrival. I had a HORRID experience that morning with another car rental company up the road (no names, but it rhymes with shirts.) I cannot recall the name of the Enterprise rep who assisted me, but I was immediately greeted once I walked through the door. I was pleased with the vehicle options as well. The entire process went smoothly and I was even offered a place to leave my vehicle over the weekend, since I had no arrangements after leaving the first rental location. The manager at enterprise is awesome! I was returning a car and the asst manager who told me she was the manager attempted to charge me $250 detailing fee because she said I had a dog in the car. On the carpet were some brown stains from some blueberries that had opened up and were squished by other groceries. I had to be at work and she wouldn't renew the extension the manager allowed me to take the car and I was back in 15 minutes after buying some carpet cleaner for $3 dollars!! Another guy Curtis was also very supportive and heard the way this female asst manager spoke to me! Nonetheless I got to work 3 hours late, sunburned, emotionally drained and almost lost my job! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! Staff needs to trained on good customer service! Reserved a car and a price 6 months in advance to get the best price. Called the day before to confirm and again when in route to pick up car since one year before another location didn't have the car I reserved. Still waited about an hour before anyone got to me. Definitely understaffed! Finally get assisted and the agent (who said he was the Asst. Mgr) tells me he can't honor my rate because the friends & family corporate discount I booked was now only for employees and since I wasn't an employee, he would have to charge me that day's full price (and it was July 4th holiday week), which was MORE than twice what I reserved. I argued with him and asked to speak with his superior but he said he was the only Manager on site. Offered me a hybrid car that didn't fit my needs and said that I should now be able to say I was "totally satisfied" for any Enterprise surveys. When I told him I wasn't happy at all, he said he didn't have to rent me a car at all! Because most places were closed at that time (because it was a Sunday), and I needed to be on the road later that evening, I grudgingly took the car. The next day I called the main number to complain about this situation and was told the complaint would go to the District Manager, who would call me. It's been a week and still no call! I've come to this location twice and both times have been memorable, in a not so good way. The first time, the opening manager was late so a few customers were waiting outside for her to slowly take her sweet time in opening. The check in manager couldn't figure out how to work the electronic check in monitor so she held us up a good 15 minutes. The car had dog hair all over it and trash, so clearly not cleaned before proving us with it. The second time, we went in the night before to reserve a vehicle only to show up the next day and there's no vehicle here for us! They said they'll send for a car but can offer no time frame on when the car will actually arrive. An hour and a half later, still no vehicle. This facility is poorly run at best. read more

I was pleased with the entire process of renting a car from Enterprise. I was slightly annoyed in the beginning when I arrived to Enterprise at my reserved time and the car I selected for rental was not available. The salesperson attempted to give me a downgrade car (economy at that) for the same price. I kindly declined and had to wait about an hour for them to find the car I requested. I was on the phone while I waited which is why I was not raising any havoc, however, I did not appreciate being offered something below my request and still being charged the full price of an intermediate car. I have used enterprise and continue to be a loyal customer but I had the worst customer service experience at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Annapolis Road Location. To be fair, most of the associates there perform their job accordingly but a lady called Calistra Daniel and goes by the Assistant Branch Manager projects and displays a very surprising and unprofessional attitude. I rented a car from one NY location and after using the car for months, ended up closing the NY rental at this branch. The NY guys were very professional and had no problems with me at all, over the period I had the vehicle. However, upon switching the rental to the New Carrolton branch, things went all downhill. On one occasion, Ms. Daniel had to argue, talk over my head (very loudly and unprofessionally) about a simple oil change and servicing to the vehicle only because the oil change and servicing were done at a location that was not preferred by their branch and it was a bit more costly (over $100 more). The guys that did the oil change at Giffy indicated that due to the total mileage on the vehicle and the accumulated miles since tine last oil change, there were a few other things that need to be done (tire rotation, etc.) which I had no problem paying for, since I thought those are safety concerns and that I rented the vehicle over a long period of time. When I brought the receipts for reimbursement and it was presented to Ms. Daniels, all hell broke loose. I am still waiting to hear from Enterprise regarding a complaint I have filled officially to their regional branch. Long and short. Enterprise as a whole is a great Company, but the Annapolis Road, New Carrolton, MD Branch (especially my experience with Ms. Calistra Daniel - Assistant Branch Manager) was my worst customer service experience ever. read more

I have used Enterprise here in Phx in the past when placing my car in the shop a few times but, when I traveled to Maryland for vacation I rented a car from the Annapolis Rd. location to drive to Va Bch. When I requested a pick up from the home I was staying in, the driver took close to an hour to pick me up and when he arrived on the rainy day there was no notification that he was waiting outside. He waited in the car for me to come out as he adjusted the radio station. I stumbled out to front door with large luggage and had to signal for him to at least come in the drive way so I would not have to walk out to the car in the rain. When he backed into the drive way he did not get out to assist me. But, he was kind enough to open the back hatch so I could load my own luggage. The same thing happened when I was asked to be driven back to my pick up point. It was not raining but, I had to ASK the driver to place my heavy luggage in the back of the car. Not Good! read more
