I am so glad I didn't take an Uber to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Lyndhurst AND Belleville, as my son was available. When I got there (despite telling them when booking a reservation on their website that I needed an SUV(due to recent spine surgery making get in an out of a sedan very difficult) there wasn't any SUVs in their log, nothing but sedans! INCREDIBLY the emailed reservation confirmation even showed a photo of a Hyundia Kona! The shocking "take it or leave it" attitude was a surprise too. I asked the incredibly indifferent employee at the Lyndhurst location if he could call their Belleville lot if they had an SUV, and he read out the number and instructed me to call number myself. The Enterprise in Belleville told me they had SUVs, but when we got there the only SUV they had was an Equinox that was all-electric and out-of-charge, and it would have cost me $15.00 more to rent. My Jeep is at the dealer's as there was a recall, and Chrysler graciously offered to recompense me $50 a day for a rental, fortunately they will also consider renting from Avis, Hertz and Budget too. Car rental outfits can be hit or miss so I was lucky to get sent here by my insurance. Tho very small this was an excellent car rental outlet. The service at the desk was outstanding. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and had answers to any question I asked. Made renting a vehicle from them very easy and pain free. I ended up using two vehicles and both were fine. They were clean and very nice. I went with a Nissan Altima and was very happy with it. The reason I needed two vehicles was because I ended up with a flat tire on the first one. When I reported that I had a tired going flat they directed me to come back to the shop. I had a new Altima and was back out on the road in twenty minutes. No problem at all. I needed to rent a car through Enterprise in Lyndhurst due to car accident and they made the whole process smooth and easy. Jay, the manager, was polite and took care of me with no problems. Then after a bit I had tire issues with the rental and I called up and they said no problem, bring it back. I did and Jay and his assistant, a very professional young lady, had it set up for me already and I was only 5 minutes away. The whole process took no more than 5 minutes. I rent from here 5-8 times a year for work trips. The cars are all very high mileage and some don't even have Bluetooth. They are in decent shape but anymore the mostly have SUVs and I hate driving SUVs. The last rental I had to swap from a car due to a smell and all they had were SUVs. They handled it well but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I know it's a small place but they do have cars offsite they go and get. The smell was very noticeable and I schedule days ahead of time via my corporate system and I am a silver member. read more

Make sure you thoroughly go over the contracts and what you're signing up for.... I returned the car I have rented today and to my surprise my one time charge of $16.99 is now a daily charge. So from what I signed up for which was having my insurance cover everything is now a $350 bill the manager couldn't do nothing about. Not to mentioned the car I rented (2013 beetle) smelled like cigarettes even though they have no smoking stickers in the car. It was dirty inside and out . So I'm basically paying a fee that's equivalent for a brand new car monthly payment in the 15 days I had to drive this thing... To think it was convenient going to them since they're 5 mins away.... HAH. Thiefs... won't be coming back here again. Whoever does use this location make sure you go over everything twice with the agent. Poor customer service. Rented a car back in Oct 2020. Poor communication from manager and staff regarding rental. They tried to make a quick buck. Said they called--they never did, and my call logs proved it. Even escalated this to the regional manager. This place is the worst from location stand point to CUSTOMER SERVICE. They quickly took the reservation and I get a call asking all this information and that they will pick me up in 30 minutes. Well that did not happen . I call back after 1:15 minutes to find out that I was going to be picked up by another branch . I smelled trouble and my hunch was correct. They did not have a full size car. (I need a full size since I drive over 200 miles a day). They try to squeeze me in a compact and then they will come by my house and exchange it by 7 PM. Rented cars from this location a few times and never had a problem. They do have a limited selection, but during our last trip they offered to bring a few cars from another lot for us to choose. The staff was very professional and they catered to our needs. Nick was very kind and worked with us until we were happy. Will use them again for our next road trip! read more

I've been renting from this place for a year and when it comes to customer service I have had no issues everything has been explained and gone over. I also have them pick me up and drop me off when I'm done with the rental and have had no issues with that either. The only one thing I can say there cars could be a little cleaner last two cars I rented I found the steering wheel to be a little sticky, had to wipe it down my self other then that I will continue using this place. read more

All the staff were very professonial staff. Overall, good experience, considering the changes that were made during the rental. We had to change our rental vehicle due to subtle front end noise on the first day. It was subsequently checked by the rental's dealer. It turned out to be nothing. The manager, I believe named Ty, was respectful and patient. He even gave us a gas credit. I will return for future rentals. I rented a car last month from the location. That was my first time renting a car from enterprise. Being a new driver i was kind of scared while returning the car as i scratched the bottom of the bumper unknowingly but they didnt said anything. If u want to be safe then take the 20$ insurance from enterprise itself which saves u the tension of minor scratches or dents. read more

Yelp should have 0 rating, this place is not even worth of 1 rating. I call this place since on website I could not find the detail about the pick up times and other info. for renting a car. As soon as after enterprise auto answering machine, I guess one of receptionist pick up (didn't even get her name) said "please hold" and put me in to hold. I was hold for about 5 min and other representative pick up than said "hello", I hesitate for 2 sec. I wasn't sure it was auto answering or advertisement and say hello back but once again this guy put me in hold. At this time I was already annoyed by their customer service and thinking I should just hang up, then same guy pick up (he was talking to fast and vol. was so low I couldn't catch his name.) and said "what you hold for?". Is this even English? Although, I was so mad at how they treat me at this moment I always had good experience with Enterprise before, so I asked my questions. However this representative attitude and tone of voice was 'WHY DID YOU CALL HERE' and when I ask question that I guess he need to check with system or he was busy with other thinks without even asking me for hold, he just put me in hold. This was my final straw , did not want any kind of business with them. I feel that if they are treating possible future customer like this way, what would happen if I have any problem with rent car or after return of car? All that being said, I like Enterprise but I would never do any kind of business with this location in near future and will not recommend, no I will do total opposite, I will warn other people before they going this place. I had gotten into an accident and my insurance company and body shop work with Enterprise. I had spoken to the gentleman at the counter and specifically told him I was allowed $30.00 per day rental as per my auto insurance company. They put me in a Hyundai Sante Fe. I did not ask for this vehicle, it was given to me. After returning the vehicle, I was told it was a $45+ dollar a day vehicle and was told I had to pay the difference. After some going back and forth between my insurance company and the Enterprise representative, I was charged ~$117 dollars for "tax". Now, I believe they should have eaten all costs as I did tell them my allotted amount. As the accident was not my fault, I was told my insurance company will attempt to get the money back from the other insurance company. It was the only reason why I agreed to be scammed. At the end of the day though, this place is a scam. Please learn from my mistake and don't let them keep doing this to customers. read more

This place is amazing. When another car rental company overbooked and we were stranded last weekend, they had a GREAT car for us, at a totally reasonable price, and were beyond friendly, helpful, and reassuring. The customer service we received from three different people was more fantastic-- and on a day when car rental companies must be absolutely swamped and stressful. Very bad experience with this location, reserved a mini van weeks in advance for a family vacation went in this morning to pick it up they said your reservation was not til 5:30 that evening so I get a call saying the van is ready, I called and told just trying to get a ride up, they never offered to pick me up. So I told them I will be there I show up just a 6 pm and the manager Lamar said oh your lucky my boss called I was going to leave thought you were not coming. So I get checked in he gets the van out and its dirty inside and out, I look down at the front tires and they are in bald, worn on the edges, I ask what happens if the tire goes out he said well your insurance will take care of it. I told him thatas not acceptable answer. So Lamar says don't worry if you have a issue just call me. So I take the van drive down the road and its pulling to the right, branch is closed call Enterprise customer service tell them my problem they send me to Newark Airport to switch out the van. I get there they see there is a problem I get sent down stairs to where all the vehicles car, told them the story, they offered me a Ford flex. There are a bunch of mini vans sitting there, they tell me that those are for customers that have reservations, and not going out til Saturday. They had 3 or 4 full size vans sitting there and the Manager at Newark said you cant have those. So they bring back the van I just dropped off and said this is all we can do and walked away. I recently rented a minivan through Enterprise in Lyndhurst. I would say that I am very satisfied at their service, from the time I walked in to pick up the minivan to the time I returned it ! the service was good and they pick you up...the only issues i had was the cars are dirty and smell like smoke and the wheel was sticky, i had a couple of rentals, one the check engine lite came on so returned it and another the gas tank the attendents had problems putting gas in it as it had a problem so i brought it back so they said i have one more time to exchange which made no sense if it was not my fault! also it should be counted on my regular enterprise account but they said it cant be since it was thru auto insurance but it is my account and i could have rented someplace else.. read more
