I've rented multiple vehicles from this location over the last few years, and they have always exceeded my expectations regarding customer service and the quality of the vehicles they have available. Most recently, I rented from the branch manager, Larissa, and she was awesome! She helped us find an alternate vehicle when our plans shifted and we were so grateful for her help! read more

Staff was friendly and helpful, but I got a rental I wasn't really comfortable driving (a HUGE suv, which I guess was the only vehicle available) and the oil light wouldn't turn off. The insurance they offered seemed CRAZY expensive to me ($17/day !), but maybe that's consistent with industry standards. To be fair, at the time that this review is being written, there's a BIG shortage of vehicles & related services due to various reasons, so under better circumstances, I might've given this location a 4 or 5 star review. read more

Spent over an hour waiting to pick up my reserved vehicle only to be told that they didn't have it on the lot and I had to go to another location to pick up a truck. Had a reservation for a car for the week of December 22nd to December 28th. When I arrived to receive the car I was told they wouldnt accept my credit card. Upon further review I found out they had no cars to rent, I guess they over booked rentals and they chose me to be the poor soul not to get one. I have been a customer of Enterprise for many years and have rented cars in cities all across the United States. I have never been spoken to by an Enterprise employee like the jerk behind the counter this morning. I reserved a vehicle for pick up online and my wife and I showed up a few hours earlier than the time that I had requested. This apparently is was more than the idiot could handle. He berated me for being there early , told me he didn't have a vehicle for us ( there were at least a dozen vehicles on the lot and no other customers in the shop), and I need to come back at the time I reserved the car for. My wife and I left this jerk and his nasty attitude and went two blocks down the road to Hertz and were in a vehicle and on the road within 20 minutes. Don't bother calling Enterprise .... go see Andrew at Hertz .... he actually knows what customer service really is. read more

I went to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Branch in Middletown New Jersey, Highway 35 on Monday, February 16, 2015. My vehicle was getting fixed at the body shop after my insurance company made a reservation for me. The manager did a walk through around the vehicle; he stated he didn't observe any damage; the vehicle was extremely dirty on the inside and the outside because of snow, salt and dirt. Afterwards the manager Nick tried to sell me his enterprise insurance coverage which I immediately declined. I told him that I was covered by full coverage by my insurance company and by my credit card, he was not happy. He proceeded to ask me details about my deductible with my coverage; I stated that it was $1,000.00. At that point I became very uncomfortable about all the questions regarding my insurance and was considering cancelling the reservation, I didn't cancel and that was a big mistake on my part, I took the vehicle home anyhow. During Saturday, February 21, 2015 there was snow and rain, the car became clean. On Monday, February 23, 2015 I took the car back to the rental branch, I had left the car parked in my driveway for a week. I only drove the car from the branch to my home and back to the rental branch. On the date I returned the car, the manager went directly to the spot where he states there was a dent, and went back to the office stating that he was going to review the video recordings and history of the car. He continued to help other clients and take calls for the next hour and half without checking anything. He continued taking his time and dragging, finally after we asked him to move us along he said he would create a report which he called Change of condition of car. I would call this episode a very well-rehearsed Enterprise already there dent insurance scam, this alleged damaged was previously there and could not be seen because the car had a filthy exterior which was cleaned by the rain during the weekend. This seems as if they are retaliating against me for not getting the additional insurance which I had refused. This dent incident is a total fabrication. If I would have caused the damage I would not have a problem admitting it. The fact that I did not cause this damage is infuriating and it is not fair they are pinning this on me. I have since then researched Enterprise extensively and have found hundreds, possibly thousands of complaints against Enterprise and their partners claiming damage done to their vehicles and the consumers are claiming they did not cause any damages. These are fraudulent activities perpetrated by this company; it is not right and very malicious on their part. Enterprise needs to stop stealing from the customers and stop making fraudulent claims against (in my case) against my insurance company. read more

I have had really bad experiences with the Enterprise locations in Eatontown and Red Bank but Middletown is the absolute best. Chris helps me every time I go and his customer service is fantastic. They are often super busy but he never makes me feel rushed and accommodates every request. I see that there are a lot of negative reviews here. My advice is, ask for Chris and you will get great customer service. read more

Hi Anise, I've rented many times from the office in Middletown and have never had a problem. The manager Nick has always been the one to assist me and is very helpful and kind. As per your situation, I can see the frustration but since they absolutely do a very thorough check for damage on the car, it seems to me that there is a good chance that something happened to the car when it was in your possession that you were unaware of. Nick has always been a pleasure to rent from and makes it very quick and easy for me so I felt like the negative comments towards him seems to be exaggerated. Because of your situation (that you very well could have been at fault for) does not mean that you should bad mouth the company. Just my thought on this situation!! read more

Had a rental scheduled for 7:30 am. Car was in shop. Manager called me the night before to ask if I could be flexible on the time as he was low on cars. He said more like 8:30. I said as long as it was not later. I called 4 times in the morning and they couldn't commit to a time. I was repeatedly put on hold. They finally call back at 9 and tell me stories about car recalls and problems with available cars. They said maybe 10 they can have a car. They are just guessing. Cancelled the reservation and called Hertz. They don't seem to have a problem managing cars a delighting customers. I rent from Enterprise all the time but this location seems to over commit and under deliver. read more

I was extremely pleased with the service at this location. I arrived at 7:20 am, and although they did not open until 7:30, they opened the door and I was driving off their lot at 7:28 am. I was given a car with 3/32 tread depth. The ties were completely bald! In a rainstorm on Christmas Eve, I had to turn back 45 minutes into my trip to get a new car. Even that was screwed up, they sent me to Red Bank to find the only car available with less than 20,000 miles of tread on it, only to find they rented it to someone else! Then off to Middletown again to finally secure another car. Horrible experience. read more

I am so unhappy with the service I received at enterprise I will make sure I don't come back here again. Or maybe it's just this location, I'm not really sure. The cars are filthy dirty. I don't think they clean them after people bring them back at all. The first car somebody spilled something all down the side of the passenger side door interior and then left a water bottle and candy wrappers in the backseat door on the passenger side. The car was really dusty and dirty looking. Then they take that car back and give me an Elantra that is also once again filthy dirty. The seat has stains all over it, the car has dents everywhere, the license plate it's from New York and is zip tied onto the front of the bumper. They brought this car to me with less than a half a tank a gas so that's what they're getting it back with. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had renting a vehicle before. One staff member is incredibly rude. I discussed with the manager yesterday that the car will be picked up at the autobody shop and now all the sudden I have to go back to the location and get a ride to pick up my car. This is unacceptable, I have zero time to be running around waiting on enterprise when I have many other things to do and I am working a very long day. Definitely not coming back to the Middletown location. Next time I will go back to Hertz where they were amazing to us and their cars were actually clean. read more
