DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS! THEY ARE LIARS! I had the massive misfortune of trusting David and Haz at Akar auto with a cross country purchase at a very sensitive time in my life. The first question I asked was ' is there any severe rust or rust issues? To which David said - no not at all. Simply some surface rust.. Turns out - after picking the vehicle up and taking it in for an oil change, the entire bottom of the car was corroded and rusted out. The vehicle needed $5,000 in repairs ASIDE from the rust and on top of that they tacked on a $3,000 warranty never verbalized to me and my payments went from the promised $320 a month to $480 for a vehicle that needs over $5,000 in repairs to get on the road. I have never been screwed over so bad in my life. They have refused to work with me in any fashion. Im sure one of them will pop on here and say "we told you to bring it in the same day". Ya, Not to return it as i tried to do, for their mechanics to look at it again (the same mechanics who passed it). So no i didnt bring it back in. I ended up paying $20,000 for a 2013 nissan frontier that had a check engine light come on in the first 1,000 miles, needed all new tires, needed brakes and rotors (TO A DANGEROUS EXTENT), needed all new suspension, the hood flew up after leaving the dealership, needed everything serviced among other things. Currently at jiffy lube and they advise that an oil changed can't be completed bc when the last one was done things were striped. Called Akar Auto Sales & Service and spoke to the rep who sold me the car Mark and advised. Also advised that the car continues to unfold with issues that should have been addressed during their inspection of the car before putting it for sale on their lot. Mark was sympathetic and apologized for the way I had been treated at their establishment bc he "did not agree with how I was treated". Hung up to handle things with the jiffy lube. They were able to fix the mess and do the changed. Called A-KAR AUTO SALES INC. back and spoke to JESSE the owner. After he called the techs at Jiffy Lube kids, we scheduled for me to bring the car in on Wednesday. I reiterated to him the prolonged amount of time it has taken to get this vehicle in an appropriate condition. I advised him at that time that if we are not able to fix all of the things that are wrong with the car then I would want my money back. At this time the owner, JESSE, began to become frustrated, speak loudly Repeatedly asking if I was bringing the car Wednesday after this was already confirmed. My son bought a car there (he 18) they were so nice ,few days after having it,he got stranded an hour away from home.. it had to go in there shop (thank god he bought a warrenty).i called as his mom and brought the issue up,guy jessie says "well thats what happenes when u buy a used car!" (13,500 car price) coolant leak! the brakes started grinding this all in 1-2 weeks he bought the car,then excaust leak and then just the other day he goes to start it(push button) it dont start,had to have it towed to them.Day 2 of it being there .they call him and say "its starts!! (as if my sons a liar) battery cables were loose" so my son goes to start it ,it didnt start! hes had the car 3mnths ONLY! it still sits! his old car he sold to them .fan gti didnt work so it kept over heating. no mechanic any where could fix it btw. so we finally seen it on the road ,was sold (person riding it around) hahah now we see it sits at there shop! there horribe ,what there doing.. um cars should be checked over b4 goin on sale floor !!!! there hopse are , no one gets a warrenty.! then there shit outta luck on what they bought not knowing the junk cars have tons of issues!.then they them selves gotta pay for there own repairs! there jaws drop when someone says "nah i dont want a warrenty"!!!... i told my coworkers when my son first got car where he got it..they said OMG NOO!! i wish i knew sooner! Bought a truck from here and it was nothing less than a nightmare. After getting the truck I realized that they basically pieced the car back together with cheap parts. Different color headlight bulbs, cheap dash cover that looks terrible, and almost completely bald tires. I paid to have them register my car and it literally took 6 months and 75 phone calls. I paid for the service $90 and when the time came to get my paperwork I was told that they outsourced it to another company and had to pay $100 extra and if I don't they would hold my paperwork. I drove around with expired plates for more than a month and kept getting pulled over. When I got my paperwork, the registration process began in June but ended in January so I'll have to pay to renew my registration in 5 months. I've worked in car sales before and I've never seen anything quite as unorganized and unprofessional as this place. I don't like seeing or writing bad reviews but once my phone calls were completely ignored by mark and dropped it on Ahab's desk, that was the final straw. Their are many reputable dealers in new jersey so I would definitely think twice about going here for anything. i had the worst experience ever with these people. i would never recommend these guys to anyone. i paid for my car in full & two months i stil have no title an no ac i call do much they know my voice... nobody has every reached back out to me to update me on anything ever. ive legit called them every single day getting different responses all to prolong me getting the title which i still do not have, i live in long island & i have a full time job to travel all the way to jersey to have a real face to face conversation is maddening, which i tried as well when they was supposed to repair the ac which still blows only hot air.... very very very dissatisfied customer - wish i can give zero stars read more

engine light on within 24 hours of having the car. called 6 times no response. went there four times.. finally got the car in for repair. After 3.9 miles engine light back on. back in their shop. 6,000 dollars down and 3,00 left in payments for this nice looking car. That's all it is nice looking. issues 3 times and counting. Check lemon laws before buying car. keep all service records even if it costs you nothing. Worst car experience I have ever had. Run far away!! 400.00 in towing fees.. My ordeal with this place can only be described as harrowing. I'll give you the short version, as space is limited here. We went in here on 9/17/2019 to purchase a used car. We decided to finance a 2006 Nissan Murano, which they had just gotten in from an auction. We put down a payment and offered the old car (2006 Ford Explorer) as a trade, giving them the title and keys. The car began to have mechanical issues within a few days ( exhaust leak,leaky rear right tire, and service engine light were among them). There was a warranty, do they took it in to fix the issues, giving us a ( very dirty and worn out) loaner car. Over a week later I picked up the car, supposedly all repaired. Hours later the tire pressure light came back on, the service engine light the next day, and the same tire was going flat again. This time they sent their young assistant over who, without notice or any communication, removed the tire and installed the donut spare. I asked him if they were to fix the tire and after about three tries got him to grunt out a "yeah". Weeks went by, nothing but crickets from Akar, and still on the donut, then the rear axle/ bearing breaks down. I manage to get the car to Akar and the mangled tire is still sitting up against the building untouched. Nonetheless they took the car in again and I got the loaner car. More weeks went by, and now the salesman Mark Longo is knocking at the door saying that we need to sign new documents. When asked about this, he claimed it was because the registration expired and no payments were made ( we never got a bill for any payment). We were still waiting on the car to be fixed. Some days later, he comes knocking again when I wasn't home, but the loaner car was outside the house. He calls the cops, claiming we stole the "rental car'( which was a loaner) when it was sitting right there for him to take. He has the cops search my home, putting my girlfriend and her son through a harrowing ordeal, insisting i was there and demanding to speak to me. They were proven wrong, as I had stepped out for an errand. He then finally took back the loaner car, and left. The sale was obviously off at that point, so a week or 2 later I went to get the title and keys to the Explorer and our deposit back. Mr. Longo gave back the title, but claimed I never gave him the keys ( which I personally handed him with our deposit). He briefly checked the mechanic shop and came back with a couple sets of keys, none of them mine. He said to come back when the lot person was in. I then inquired about getting back our deposit. He refused, claiming that they paid the insurance with it , when in fact they only paid $80 on their card toward insurance, and we paid another: $100. I asked him for documents supporting his claim, at which he became angry and said"There's the door." I reiterated my request for documents, st which he then leaned over the desk with an enraged look and said angrily, " There's the door, see me in court." I then left the building, without my keys or money which they still have. My advice to others is run. Run fast. Run far. Don't do business here. read more

Mistake # 1, having recently purchased a vehicle from A-Kar Auto sales, drove it from their lot to my house in less than 3 miles the car developed a major oil leak, coupled with the "Check engine" light remaining on.. Brought the vehicle back here's where the arduous journey began... Mistake # 2, was allowing their garage to do repairs on this vehicle, they were paid for services rendered (exhaust system, brakes) but when all is said and done this vehicle will not pass state inspection for emissions and brakes, along with one of the headlights having no power to it. I've heard from Jesse that Ehab is reputable, I've read statements from other customers that this establishment is honest & reputable, I beg to differ, if you ask Ehab today if he sold me the car, he would say NO... if he did not sell me the car then why was it when I picked it up there were blue A-Kar promotional license plates along with an A-Kar decal on the trunk, and A-Kar license plate holders on the vehicle? The most interesting fact & defining moment of this transaction, while the car was in for service Mr. Ehab removed the decal, but forgot to take off the license plate holders... all I can say is that an honest & reputable act? Ehab swore the car did not leak oil, and it did, his comment was it's just a seal. Ehab had his mechanic check the brakes, I was informed that he had to rebuild the rear calipers, everything else was fine, the front rotors are shot, his comment was "It's probably the way your son drives the car"... It gets better, when you drive the car and hit 45MPH, the car literally bucks, in his next breath Ehab tells me that one of the rear brake sensors must be bad, it's affecting the ABS system so it has to be replaced. The car lost all power Saturday night, the reason, both cables on the battery were loose, what is up with that? This car has been a nightmare right from the gitgo..and I know in my heart of hearts with all of the issues I've encountered with this vehicle, that Ehab would not allow his little sister or any other family member to own this vehicle, but he did not hesitate to take a 19 year olds life savings with no regret. Worst car dealership I have ever dealt with. I thought I was getting a good deal but the dealership never held up their end of the contract and in nice words totally screwed me over. The main dealer/manager Ehab will tell you anything that you want to hear to get a sale but I had major problems with the car in the first week of buying it. Even though it was supposedly under warranty they had my car for over 2 months before they said they finally found what was wrong with it. I called almost every day and than finally gave up and meanwhile I was paying for a rental car this whole time. After they figured out what was wrong with it which I highly figure they knew from the start, they wanted me to pay for it even though I was still making payments on the car that they said they were working on every day. I would drive by and just see my car sitting in the back. One of the worst experiences I've ever had buying a car.
