Very friendly staff! Morgan - intermediate cars are like the corolla and Elantra and veloster and dart and cruze etc. I always recommend being ok with the smallest car in each class size. Sounds like the time you got the corolla and ordered a compact you got a free upgrade which they always do of they dont have the size you reserved. Personally I dont like to make a reservation for anything smaller than a full size. Enterprise cant control how big or small the dealerships make their "intermediate" cars. Even a standard size has some great cars like the 200 but also in my opinion some terrible ones like the beetle and soul. If you book a full size you will get what most people consider a "normal" car or a free upgrade to suv or premium car or something else. My reservation to be picked up from the repair shop was 10 AM. I was picked up at 10:15 AM by Kaitlyn. She was not very friendly, and she was texting as she took me and two other passengers to the office. I arrive to the office at 10:20 AM. The gentleman that checked me in was pleasant, but he definitely lied about the wait being "just a few minutes." Then, I realize there are 4 chairs and 10 people in the waiting room... So, okay no big deal. I'm young, so I leave the chairs for those who actually need to sit. However, I then proceeded to wait for over an hour. I'm standing with my things, and the phone is ringing off the hook (with no one answering it) for over an hour! It's maddening. When I finally got the car, Dharma was very sweet, helpful, and displayed excellent customer service skills. Unfortunately, all of the other issues were just too much for her to save this review. If I could give just her 5 stars, I would. Enterprise needs to at least get enough chairs in that place, and teach ALL of their employees to be professional and safe while on the clock. I wouldn't even give them a 1. I had a reservation for weeks and I show up on my date to pick up, which was Saturday and they don't have the size vehicle I ordered. I said I'll come back on Monday to get my car. I call ahead to make sure it's ready and it's NOT. He said he'd call me when it would be ready. Never got the call. I called then to see if I could pick it up. He said I'd have to wait that 6-7 people were in front of me. I cancelled the reservation then. Worst business ethics ever! This review is longer over due as this occurred in August of 2024. Enterprise left us stranded in Milton after our rental broke down on a 100 degree day. The airport location we rented from would not help us nor would the customer service department. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because Johnny from the Milton location saved the day. Don't expect Enterprise to pick you up on time. My wife has been waiting over an hour. Supposedly, the person who scheduled the pick-up on Friday for a Monday 2:00 PM didn't actually schedule it. Travis isn't wrong...if you call this place, you're in for a long, long wait. I've only had to call them once, and it wasn't a pleasant experience due to the highly annoying music and repetitive "informational" advertisements. You'll know them verbatim before somebody actually answers the call. I've rented from this location 3-4 times. I've gotten one car that looked like it hadn't been washed in months, one that the gas gauge showed "Empty", but I always got a decent car for the rental fee. The rental car industry is a mess, with all of the add-ons and tiers of size classes, so make sure that you state exactly what you want to pay for and what you *don't* want to pay for. I haven't yet been overcharged or billed for anything that I didn't specify (satellite radio, for instance). They'll come pick you up or take you home, but save time and order up an Uber...you'll save anxiety and the ride won't break you. Otherwise, you may wait for up to an hour. Nice folks, but few of them. Margins are thin and staffing is low. Be patient, reserve a vehicle in advance, and your experience will be pleasant. I have been renting cars at this location for 5 years and am extremely impressed with the team currently in place. This particular location has always had good folks but the current management is amazing. Frankly i was really worried when the previous manager left but Enterprise hit another home run with Jennifer. Jennifer's contagious smile and upbeat can do personality really elevates the team around her. Although the location has challenges given their small parking lot and building, and at times can get very busy, Jennifer and her team always make my visit a wonderful experience. I rent on average 6 times a month and have never been dissapointed. If you need a rental car, want a good vehicle, and want to be treated like an old friend I highly recommend you choose this Enterprise location. read more

I have been renting from this location for years but will never go to this location or any other Enterprise Rent a Car location. I was not allowed to rent a car from this location today because I was told I was too rude. And to top it off I had to walk back to my place of business and was never offered a ride back. I then went to the Highway 29 location and after a phone call to the Milton location and a back office conversation, that I saw with the manager there, I was told that there were no cars available for rent. I am still in shock. Had to cancel my business trip. I guess the days of good customer service are over. read more

I waited 5 hours and 18 minutes to get a car Monday and I had a reservation. Every time they were questioned it was going to be an hour during this time we noticed employees taking lunch etc while we waited in the damp and cold outside. Finally got a car it was fine no issues. Last night I happened to check my bank account and almost 600 was out of my account. When I made my reservation I understood that 200 would be taken out it was not clear the cost of the rental and 200 was coming out. When I called this morning I was given the old line corporate policy. I could afford it but what about someone who could not in this time of a natural disaster. We have another car to drive what about the family that doesn't. What is that 200 could keep some family from buying food or renting an apartment, or start on some repairs of their homes. In my opinion, during a natural disaster, the local offices should contract corporate and say lets wave this fee these folks have a heck of a lot going on let's do our bit for the community. Trust me I am guessing 3/4 of these cars would not have been rented without Hurricane Sally. These rental companies are making their money, I am contacting Tallahassee as well. Worst customer service I have had with Enterprise. The lady was short and very passive aggressive. Attitude from the time we walked in the door. An attitude like "ugh what do these people want". When we went to look at the car for damages, my husband likes to make sure all dings and scratches are made note of even if the company already knows about it. When you've been screwed over a time or two you tend to make note of everything. The lady was getting irritated, huffing and buffing because my husband wanted to make sure we weren't going to be liable for any damages. I told the lady my husband is "extra and just have to be patient". When we got done it was time to sign the paperwork. The lady then told us it would be $1,000+. This is not what we were quoted over the phone. That is no fault of hers and pass no blame onto her for that. But I will pass blame on the lack of patience and customer service that this lady decided was a good idea to have. After lowering the price a couple times, I told the lady I wanted my card back and I don't appreciate the attitude and walked away. I won't do business with someone who is irritated with their customers from the time they walk in the door. I understand people may be having a bad day but this wasn't "I'm having a bad day", this was "I just want your money and leave". Being patient and having a good attitude goes along way. read more

I am a loyal enterprise rental car customer but not from this location. The kids run this place do not have a sense of quality and control. You cannot leave your car there as there is no room. They do not tell you that when you call them. If you ever get through. And ask for a pick up? You will have to call them again and again to ensure that they will arrive to pick you up. I will NEVER rent another vehicle from the Milton Enterprise location. I have been a loyal Enterprise customer for over 6 years now, and have always rented from the Gulf Breeze or Milton locations, because of the helpful staff, easy in and out, and convenience. That all ended in Milton, when "Ben" began exhibiting his poor customer service, and arrogant attitude. I CHOOSE not to drive my on vehicles out of town, to try and keep the mileage down, so I rent from Enterprise at least 6-7 times per year; sometimes for close to two weeks at a time, and ALWAYS use a debit card when I pay. In ALL the years I have rented from Enterprise, in Milton and Gulf Breeze, I have always been treated with respect, thanked for my business, and often times actually greeted with a "Hi, Mrs Menefee" when I walk in the door, because I'm in there so often. Until, that is, a few months ago, when I walked in to the Milton office to pick up a car, and met "Ben" for the first time. As soon as I pulled out my debit card to pay, his attitude changed, and he refused to process my request until I showed a utility bill as proof of residence. I explained that I was a frequent customer, and that if he'd check my history, he would see that I had been renting from them regularly for years, and also let him know that NO ONE had ever asked me for proof of residence. EVER. He made no effort to check anything that I asked him to check, was extremely rude and condescending, and started telling me that corporate required this, and it wasn't his fault that no one else ever checked. Now, I work for a large corporation, so I have no issue with policies. But don't rent me numerous vehicles, and take my thousands of dollars, over the course of 6+ years, without EVER requiring any proof of residence, and expect me to have it with me THIS time. And on top of that - talk to me like I'm some piece of trash, that's going to steal one of your cars? After him giving me attitude for about 10 mins, and me giving it back to him, he took my work badge, as proof enough, and processed my request. Two weeks later I rented another vehicle from Milton, but the helpful young man that assisted me that day, never asked for proof of residence, and actually upgraded me. I rented another vehicle last week, and when I walked in to pick it up, Ben was there again. I had the utility bill with me again, just in case, and he actually said to me "Do you have your utility bill this time?".. which tells me that he REMEMBERED me from the LAST time he checked me in, and already knows that I live in the area. But, I gave him the bill anyway, and he proceeded to say "OK. Do you have any proof of income?" Really? Are you kidding me right now? You just saw my work badge a few weeks ago. That one ID was sufficient then, so why are you asking me for a SECOND one this time? He had the same condescending attitude again, and didn't even have my vehicle ready to go, even though I'd waited until 20 minutes after my pick up time, to show up, just to give them time to have it ready. To add insult to injury, I left my transponder in the rental, so tried calling the office FOUR different times the following business day, between the hours of 9am - 3:30pm. Twice, I got recordings saying "all circuits are busy". The other two times, Ben answered the phone, put me on hold, and left me on hold for over 30 minutes each time. I actually took pictures of my phone, showing the number being called, and the length of the hold times, because I knew no one would believe it. My son had to drive to the office to ask them for my transponder, and of course, they said they didn't have it. So I had to spend $25 to order a new one. Absolutely not worth the hassle. So... if you need a car, and want to rent from Enterprise, I would suggest you get it from Gulf Breeze, or the Airport. Going forward, I will willingly pay $7.50 in tolls to cross Garcon Point Bridge for a car, just so I don't have to deal with the insanely ridiculous lack of customer service again. read more

I am always greeted by someone as soon as I walk in. Some days are busier than other, but I have never waited over 10 minutes. Because of my travel for business, I have been using this location for the last year. The last few months, I have seen a huge change in customer service. I have been renting from this location for almost 4 years now and have steadily watched the service decline. The turn around for employees is ridiculous. I go in roughly once a month and every time I go, there is a new bunch of people working there. And no one seems to know what they are doing. Took me almost 2 hours to get a car, between waiting for a pickup and actually getting checked out, that I Had reserved a week prior. Being a platinum customer, I expect to get priority. And don't even think about trying to call the office. No one ever answers the phone in a timely fashion, and today I waited on the phone for over an hour before I just hung up. Plus the cars I get are almost always dirty (usually under the seats and the inside of the windows.) And the last car I rented, the seats were so filthy, I had to cover them with sheets because I didn't want to even sit on them. This used to be a very reliable and customer oriented store, but now it almost isn't worth the effort trying to get a car from there. The hassle and the time it takes to get a vehicle don't even make it worth it. I'm going to have to switch to a different car rental place. Update 8-30-17 So after having a conversation with the regional manager as well as a lengthy email describing my problem initially, I decided to give this location one last try. BIG MISTAKE. First and foremost, if you are needing to get on the road the day you are picking up your rental, you are going to be late. Second of all, The outside of the car is filthy. The windows are fingerprinted and bug stained. As was the entire front end of the car. She offered to have them rewash it, but as I'm on a time schedule, this was not an option for me. If the car isn't clean inside and outside, it shouldn't be put on the front to rent. So again, I Had to further delay my leave time to stop and wash the car. And can someone explain to me how you classify the cars as compact, intermediate, etc? Because you have pretty roomy cars (corolla) in the compact section and since I was needing more space for the most recent rental, I upgraded to an intermediate. Now, how is a hatchback car considered intermediate? And of course, there was nothing else on the lot but pick up trucks. And while yes, they do have the room, It is supposed to rain a good portion of my trip, so packing the back with everything is pointless. Not to mention they wanted to charge an extra $30 a day to rent a truck and the added gas cost really makes it not worth it. So basically, I got a 20% discount to have a smaller vehicle than what I normally rent. And still ended up paying the same price as I would have if I had just stuck to a compact car. I returned the car i was made to vac out the driver seat due to aprox 2 dozen cat hairs that I had on my clothes do to my cat being on my lap before I got in the car to return it and was told I had broken the no pets in car rule basically called a liar, i had rented 4 cars in the last 3 months due to my mother having cancer surgery, its actually cheaper to rent then drive my gas hog truck. I believe with all my heart this young black man thought it was funny to make a long haired 50yr old tattooed white man vac out the car I have had to make 2 more trips because of issues with my mothers health and guess what I didn't use enterprise rental not only do I not use them anymore I recommended to all my friends, family and everyone I come in contact with in my business not to use enterprise rental in Milton Fl. If and when they answer the phone, you can likely expect an extended hold time. On a Monday evening, I called and made a reservation and recieved confirmation and arranged for a 0830 pick up. When I contacted the local office, lady stated that she did not have the vehicle, and that whoever made the reservation does not work in the actual office. At 0845, I called regarding the pick up, and the driver arrived around 9. When I got to the office, they stated that they did not have a vehicle, and if I would be willing to wait for "a couple of hours", they might have a car. I asked about the concept of a reservation, and he agreed that the reservation really did not matter. I then asked why they didnt tell me about not having a car when I called earlier, and he just said "sorry about that". It ended up being almost 3pm before I finally got a vehicle. Had to miss a day of work, and overall, there was no reaction to that concept. I can see that the employees were working hard, but the service and system are flawed beyond belief. read more

Weeks ago I reserved an automobile for my upcoming drive across the country, making the reservation wasn't difficult, but actually getting the car was not even a possibility. When I arrived to pick up my car they were out all of a sudden. How do they stay in business without any cars to rent? It's a car rental company...and it's not like it's Uncle Cleetus's junk yard, this is ENTERPRISE they're supposed to have the largest fleet of vehicles in the country!! They couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone and call me to let me know they didn't have cars, at least then I wouldn't have had to go through this hellacious experience. I wasted hours of my time and my family's time driving here and then back home empty handed. They seemed not to give a damn that they didn't have any cars, like this sort of thing happens every day in their world! They did the same thing to the guy in front of me too. Why take reservations?
