I absolutely love this location and their staff. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful and friendly and super understanding when things don't go as planned. They always have the best vehicles! Compared to the other rental places they are absolutely trash compared to Enterprise. Even if it's a few dollars more it's well worth it in the end! Trust me!!! They will go out of their way to accommodate you. But their customers service is seriously top notch, I have been in a car for over a month this time around, I thought I lost the key to the car, i found it thankfully, but they handled it and calmed me down because, I was so scared I was going to be charged a ton of money. We haven't rented @ ENTERPRISE since COVID-19 started in March of 2020. We have been renting @ Affordable Auto Rentals on a limited basis during COVID to make trips to South Dakota etc because they have GREAT rates @ affordable prices. Unfortunately last Friday I called & the unit I wanted was not going to be available. I once again went on-line @ secured a rental @ ENTERPRISE on Edison Road in Mishawaka/South Bend. (see below) When I arrived @ 5:00pm Tuesday 6/28/2022 to pickup our FULL size pickup they had none in stock, including small trucks & minivan's, WTF! I said thanks for NOT contacting me by phone, e-mail me or text but they assured me they contacted me @ 2 pm when they pulled the reservation. I showed the counter person none of the above happened. Once again they did their famous bait & switch & oversold their inventory on hand & irritated another client They were going to charge over $100+ per day plus insurance etc. Luckily I called Affordable Auto Rental on Main & Mishawaka next to 7 eleven & they got a minivan in to take care of our needs with a daily rental rate of only $59.95 with 150 miles included per day which works GREAT for our budget. Will I try to rent from ENTERPRISE again, NOT! I will always rent from AFFORDABLE AUTO RENTAL going forward, ENTERPRISE can put the points I've earned where the SUN don't shine! I purposely upgraded my car(paid more) because I wanted all wheel drive. I got a teeny tiny hatchback that is not all-wheel-drive. I did not realize this until I got home. Also, the employee did not have me look at the outside of the vehicle, which I guess is my fault I should've asked to do so, and there is a dent in the car. I noticed it the first time I got out of the car and I plan on calling tomorrow, specifically mentioning that I was not given the opportunity to look at the outside of the car, and I will see what happens. Because the garage ordered the wrong light for my car it pushed my need for rental into my out of pocket cost . I dropped off the rental on my last day of work , so not get charged another day for a rental . I got charged the amount of the " garages return date " which overdrafted my bank account as Pay day is Friday for most Common people. I was assured that it was cancelled and all I would see is the refund the next day . ASSURED it was cancelled! That was a lie , I woke up to the charge going through and the nice 32.00 overdraft fee . I paid the 50.00 deposit when renting the car , I kept a 2 day rental 25.00 a day . that should have been a charge of JUST THE TAXES ! Scammers! I rented a car for a business trip. When I put the car in park, the gear shift knob fell off in hand. No loud crack, simply fell off. While I do examine rentals at pick up, I don't have a habit of checking the gear shift knob for cracks or fractures. This should have fallen under company maintenance and is actually a known problem with the make and model I received. The replacement car they gave me also had maintenance issues. I then received a bill for 1,800 to replace the gear shift knob. 1,750 more than it costs to replace one. The Mishawaka location has refused to listen to what actually occurred & have been extremely rude and condescending. They also refuse to produce a repair bill to show it cost 1,800 to replace a knob. Enterprise has been running me in circles with no help forthcoming. Beware. They will rent you a car with maintenance issues and pass that cost on to you the consumer. Check everything! Not just the exterior. I am reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission where they have thousands of similar complaints of scamming their customers. Highly recommend this enterprise location. I had a big accident two years ago and i can chose either here or my local Hertz through my insurance for a rental car. My local Hertz said I have to wait 48 hours before i can get my rental viechle and Enterprise has a car for me the same day of my accident and picked up from my home. I had my rental vehicle for over 2 month ( due to my repair got delayed for parts issue) and enterprise extended my rental at least three times during this period without any issue and tried to help me figure out the most economic options. I had a very positive experience. Recently, I had a weather related incident and need a rental for a few day while my car was in for repair. I chose enterprise again and same positive experience. We forgot our car seat in a vehicle we rented on Christmas eve. We went back the following day and got one of our car seats but they could not find the other. They offered to pay for the replacement and I have been talking to the manager at the South Bend Airport, Kenneth, for 2 months without any resolution. They said they would reimburse us for the seat. My initial contact was with Charles about seven weeks ago. I hit a deer which caused about $5500 worth of damage to my SUV. My insurance uses enterprise for its rentals and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had a 45 day max rental Through my insurance and after that that I would get a steeply discounted rate if I needed to continue with the rental. Charles was great and set me up with a car right away. The pick up and check out was very easy and they were efficient. I ended up returning my rental on Thursday evening and it could not have been easier. I drop the car off and put the keys in the return box. The follow-up was done with. Sydnye and she talk to me the following day and we went over my agreement and I was able to answer some questions that she had. All in all great customer service from both of them and would recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a renter. Thank you so much! read more

If you are renting a vehicle with Enterprise through your insurance, DO NOT plan on actually getting a vehicle!! Enterprise receives a set amount from your insurance company to be their, "preferred provider" Because of this, you are not their priority. You are just a back up customer. Amy insurance set it up with them for Monday. Tuesday, they will not have a vehicle available for me until the following day because everything was reserved (WELL, so was mine reserved but, what can I do??) I called the following day if I got what time I can pick up my vehicle rental and they tell me they will not have anything until the following day because everything is reserved. They put me on hold to help another customer and left me on hold for 30 minutes. ISNT THIS CONVENIENT FOR ALL PARTIES INVOLVED EXCEPT FOR THE INSURED!! I called back and the next Enterprise person gave me a completely different excuse, stating that my reservation was not for their location. So I called the other location and they said that my reservation was for the original location and they didn't have anything either. They made a complete joke out of a customers needs. Warning: This is a Novel: If I could give a negative star review, I completely would for this location and my experience. We rented a 15 passenger van for a Ragnar race that we were running that weekend, and I had booked this van using Costco travel back in February when we signed up for the race. I was given the price of $450 for the weekend rental, which is what I was expecting to pay when I showed up at the rental location. The gentleman who helped us showed us the van, we went around and did the usual inspection, noting the dents on the sides etc. When we opened up the van, there was a used (dirty) coffee cup in the second row cup holder, and a used ear plug in the front area by the radio. The seats were all stained and looked rather gross, but we didn't have many choices so we had to take the van. When we were done with looking over the van, the man then hassled us to take the Damage Waiver/Collision Damage waiver, the Supplemental Liability Protection, and the Roadside assistance. I've stated that I have rented from Enterprise countless times before, and have never been obligated to get any type of this extra protection before, he keeps saying that it is REQUIRED that we get something because of the size of the van. He then further asks me if I have commercial insurance which would cover this in case something happened, I told him that we have our own auto insurance, to which he states that they won't cover something if something were to happen with this van. So finally, we had to take the Damage Waiver to be able to get him to rent us the van (which is an extra $100, but our friends who also rented from Enterprise at the 31 and airport locations did not have this issue, they had a much easier experience picking up their rental with no extra protection being "required"), so then he tells me the total, which is now over $1300. I'm like excuse me, why is that high? He then tells me that it's what the rental costs, to which I told him that I rented it back in February for $450 through Costco travel. He then tries to make me feel like an idiot by asking if that was per day or if I hit a button to where I only rented it for 1 day. I showed him my Costco rental, and then he started saying that he's probably not going to be able to honor that price. We have to go back inside while he plays with his computer to see what he can do to get it down in price. He finally gets it down to our price, and we have to through everything again after that. When I checked with our other friends who also rented a 15 passenger van from both the 31 and airport locations, none of them were "required" to get the extra "protections" like we were. The guy who we got was just trying to make an extra sale and was rather rude and condescending when we did not want to add anything extra on, and would not rent to us if we didn't get something. Out of the many times that I have rented a car, this is by far the worst experience that I have had with Enterprise. If I did not have my Costco travel receipt, I think he would have made us pay the $1300 for the van, so if anything, keep your travel plans. This guy was highly unprofessional and just after a sale, if you rent from Enterprise, avoid this location and this guy. read more

Don't rent out cars that someone has purchased! We had a week-long reservation, which all worked out fine. Picking the car up was no problem, the man who helped us was friendly, the car was great. But the next day we got a call asking for the car back because someone had bought it and they wanted it. Not a huge deal, just inconvenient and unprofessional. This detail should have been known from the beginning so we would have been given a different car to start with. They offered us another car, but at the very least, they should have offered to bring us a new car and take the other one back. Next time we won't be such pushovers. Not impressed with Enterprise. The automobile was very low on gas when I picked up so had to locate a gas station immediately. Also a tire was flat and took it back to the pickup location and they did not want to mess with it. So I had to pay for putting air in, this occurred four times during the two weeks I had it. Then, to make matters worse, the car keyfob would not consistently work. Kept locking me out of the car or if it let me in it would not let me start the car. At two weeks, out of a four week rental period, I was called by Enterprise to bring vehicle in as it was sold, so I did. I told them about me having to put air in tires, "Oh that's too bad" and the keyfob not working, "Oh that's okay as it will get looked at for the sale". Sheesh!. I only am renting with them because it's with my insurance on a body damage claim so they'll get my negative review as well. read more

Every year we go on spring break with 12+ people and each year we have been disappointed with the Elkhart location. This year I called the Mishawaka location and got lucky and spoke to the regional manager. She set everything up for me and even honored my 15% off coupon (from the issues from the Elkhart location the previous year) that was in my purse when it was stolen on 12/15/2018. The manager at the Elkhart location refused to honor it despite seeing the notes in the computer from the previous years complaints even with a copy of the police report showing what was all stolen. Regardless she took care of us. When we showed up to get the van the location was swamped but Bobby took great care of us and and let us get the van a few hours earlier to load up. We got great service and drop off was simple with a quick call to Nick to confirm the final totals and we were all set. Thank you to all the staff at this location for helping us. I plan these big trips every year and that's already stressful it was nice to have this part of it streamlined. read more

Enterprise is a joke! Almost ruined my wedding. Enterprise in Mishawaka Indiana told my husband we did not need to make reservations for our car when we flew to St. Petersburg Florida and that they would even give us a discount cause my husbands company services their vehicles. Well we got to the enterprise in the St Petersburg airport and told them this and they said they couldn't give us a vehicle cause we didn't reserve one. I was so upset. We will never be using enterprise again. Luckily Avis was there for us and gave us a nice car cheaper than enterprise would without a reservation. My husband is making a complaint to corporate for lying to us and almost leaving us without a vehicle for our wedding and honeymoon. My company also uses enterprise for their rental vehicles and I will be switching our company we use for our customers. read more

We didn't get around to picking it up until later afternoon. Three weeks ago we reserved a 15 passenger van for a trip to Chicago tomorrow. We were told that everything was set and ready for us today. We also called this past Monday to double check that everything was a go. We get to Enterprise and we are told that because the person with the credit card is only 21 that they cannot rent us the van, even though the 21 year old isn't the one who will be driving. We just needed to use the credit card because we do not own any. Then we are told that there is a 400 dollar holding fee for the van rental. When we called twice, we were not informed of any of this! All we were told was to bring a credit card and 200.50 for the rental. We were also told by Angelo ( the guy we spoke with three weeks ago) that the gas tank would be filled up and that it was included with the price of the van. That was another lie! Their vehicles are kept at almost empty and we have to fill the gas tank up! The workers were rude and unprofessional and they didn't know their asses from their heads! We weren't even offered a discount for all the trouble! I will be reporting Enterprise to the BBB and obviously we will never return after the way we were done! read more

I rent from Enterprise at least 4 times per year and it's always been a good experience. I've never had any trouble with the service or the cars. I've even gotten a few free upgrades when the car I've requested became not available. I've been using them since 2000. They are conveniently located in close proximity to my home. They would come a pick me up if I requested but I've never felt the need to use that service as yet. Would highly recommend using their services. read more

I was only doing in town driving. the car had 3/4 of a tank of gas so they told me not to worry about filling the tank since I had to wait. I didn't even expect that but it was very nice for it to have been offered. my pick up and return both went very smooth. Ive rented here before and was very happy with the vehicles and service. Staff was very friendly. I was early and had to wait for the vehicle, but that was my fault, not theirs. They did offer me a choice of another vehicle so that I did not have to wait. The vehicle was very nice. During the inspection, we noticed a slash in the tire, not deep enough to make the tire go flat. When I mentioned it and that we were going to put a lot of miles on the vehicle, they took the vehicle to their tire place and had it replaced. My experience with Enterprise is great. Rates are reasonable, availability is awesome and cars are always maintained and clean. They are candid about insurance and for a marginal fee insure everything from the roadside service if you run out of gas to the keys if you lose them. When taking long trips I prefer the peace of mind of driving a new car, for the $40.00 it costs to put unlimited daily miles on their car, to me it is a bargain. Very poor service. One Enterprise in South Bend, near Notre Dame, sent our reservation to another Enterprise. Pick up was over 30 minutes late. Two Enterprise employees were in the jeep that picked us up. Neither lifted a finger to help us load or unload our bags, but simply stayed in the car upon pick up. Upon drop up, they simply got out and entered the break room. The folks at the counter did upgrade us to a bigger car and gave us water. That's the only positive thing. They did not do a full walk around the car and when I dropped it off at Ohare, the folks there "wrote up" a body defect which was obviously already present. I am still not sure if Enterprise will charge me for that. If they do, I will dispute as fully as I can. The National change needs to do much more to control the quality of service in South bend at least. For now, and unless I have absolutely no other options, I will always rent from another carrier. read more
