My husband I were in the midst of moving to Florida from Michigan l. During our travel we had a very unfortunate incident. Our Ford F150 Enterprise rental truck caught fire with roughly 90 percent of our belongings burning and lost in a vehicle fire. The manager of Niles, MI Enterprise admitted the vehicles had just come in, had not been checked, and was still good to go because of the low mileage on both 2024 vehicles. My husband and I were on a call with each other while we were driving to keep our lines of communication open because the weather was icy and snowing that day. With that said, I began screaming frantically for him to stop, stop, stop, because his vehicle was on fire. He was barely able to safely escape, the vehicle consumed everything literally within seconds after we were trying to save our service pets. Within 90 seconds the life we've been building, our business equipment consumed before our eyes. More importantly we have to relive the loss of our parents twice. From the first loss to this vehicle fire loss at the hands of an incompetent company. We lost priceless possessions. My spouses mothers ashes, my mothers inherited items and memorabilia, all of our business equipment, weights, bars, computer, monitor for our registered corporation. Right now Enterprise, from whom the vehicle was rented is not doing anything beyond lip service and promises to assist us. In fact all they've done is periodically toy with us with a contact here and there then they ignored us. Mike P. is the Claims adjuster who asked us to send a list of our items on Jan 30, 2024. We sent the list waited two weeks but no email address response back until March 22, 2024 from Jan 30, 2024. Wow!? This is the customer service you can expect from Enterprise. Faulty cars, poor customer service, lying, deception and overall a lack of integrity. We hired an attorney whom was in contact with someone at Enterprise. My attorney stated the last communication they told him they wanted to talk numbers. The contact from enterprise went on vacation and hasn't seemed to return. A regional manager named Collin Ault informed both his Employees that he would call us shortly. After 2 1/2 full days. I realized that Enterprise don't respect the customers that keep them in business. They neither respect FORD Motor company nor Toyota by misrepresenting their brand. The fireman said this was fault of Enterprise and they gave us a faulty unchecked vehicle. We have a report for this as well. And we were insured with Enterprises insurance. Understand that it's not just the list of our belongings but the trauma endured from this and we are still suffering from that. A fear of driving, any unusual smell terrifies me. And I no longer like the F-150's nor Toyota 4Runners as a result of this ENTERPRISE experience. I'm terrified of Ford Cars now. Lastly, they also rented us a 4Runner with cracked windshield across the entire windshield in the center of your visual. We had to cram in the this vehicle with all types of malfunctioning windows and locks because they failed to do an inspection on these two vehicles. Because it was a dreary day with all the ice and snow and still a wee-bit dark early AM we had no idea they gave us a truck with a cracked windshield and the back window of truck was faulty. With this said. I physically saw the F-150 ( ENTERPRISE RENTAL ) - spark rolling blue flames underneath the vehicle. Then the fire turned to red then yellow then orange til the colors blended in while the blue flames rolled underneath that vehicle. I scream in terror for my husband to stop the vehicle. What if the seatbelts had malfunctioned from the fire. What if those doors no longer opened because it's all electric wires that allows things to function. The vehicle burned til the vehicle was unrecognizable. This is unacceptable and incredibly sad to place people's lives in danger, to ignore your a customer whose lives they nearly destroyed due to negligence on his staffs part for self admitting that they did not do an inspection on the vehicles because one had a little over 11k miles and the other vehicle had a little over 12k miles. Please note that you will be risking your lives with Enterprise and the rental of their vehicles. They believe in taking a short cut to customer service they lack integrity, customer service, lack of communication, lack of customer support, concern, care nor compassion of one's livelihood. Rented a car covered by insurance from Enterprise, had to pick it up in South Bend, since they couldn't commit on getting us a car. Only vehicle available was a large passenger van, and decided we wanted a smaller car and traded for a smaller one in Benton Harbor. Car smelled since it had been smoked in, also, noise under hood. Found the hood support rod bracket was broken and rod laid on engine making noise. Dropped car off last Friday, and attendant said there was no charge since insurance covered the rental. I was provided no paper since insurance covered the cost. A few days later found that Enterprise charge me $66 it showed it was South Bend. Called South Bend and they said Letish Easley did the charge in Benton Harbor. Today went to the Benton Harbor Enterprise and ask about the charge. They ask for paperwork which I did not have, and they thought it was strange that I didn't have any. They said South Bend made the charge and they couldn't do anything, which was a lie. I ask them to call South Bend and sort it out, and they said they wouldn't do that, that I had to resolve it! Also, ask what the charge was for and they didn't know. Very poor customer service !!! I did call South Bend and they continued to say Benton Harbor made this charge, but they would issue a credit. It should be pointed out that I NEVER signed for this bogus charge on my credit card. Also, I had another charge for $.01. Hopefully credit is in process. read more

The team at the Niles Enterprise does an excellent job. I rent there often for business trips and have been going there for several years. The teams change often and I have always had an acceptable experience with them. The current team (Ali and Kaitlin) have exceeded all past experience and do an excellent job. read more
